Korean fried chicken
Jonathan L.

We went here for some drinks and food! We love the wide selection of alcohol offered!! And their Korean fried chicken was really good! We got 2 different flavors of chicken! We also got their kimchi pancake! If you're looking or a chill place to drink! Look no further!

I've come here multiple times with friends because it's the nearest pocha to where we typically hang out. The food itself is like standard pocha food, nothing outstanding. Misoolkwan is def the pocha to go to if you want good food. Service here is pretty quick as well, nothing to complain about. However, this is a place I would come to only for convenience -- not amazing but it does the job!

OB Square is located in an older center surrounded by a few other restaurants and small businesses. It is located right of the 5 freeway at Red Hill Avenue. There's plenty of parking available. It was my first time here along with my friend. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Friday evening. We were seated on the front left side of the restaurant. There's another section that leads to the back of the restaurant. It was pretty quiet when we were initially seated, but all the tables filled up shortly after us. There is a small tablet for each table or booth where you can order the items yourself. Be sure to drill down for each item to make your specific selections. It's not as intuitive until you start clicking on all the options. Our food came out pretty quickly after we placed the order. Be sure to ask the server for any additional sauces or spices for dipping. We requested the sesame oil and salt and chili garlic sauce which paired nicely with the gizzards. We enjoyed all of the three dishes which included spicy rice cakes, OB chicken gizzards, and OB chicken wings and ice cold beer. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. I will definitely return with more family and friends next time.

ob square is a nice late night spot for some korean food! they offer a lot of diff foods. my favorite is the jjajangmyeon! i love the flavor and texture of this dish. the ob wings are also really crispy and juicy! savory and flavorful. the vibes are really chill inside! plenty of seating and they have karaoke rooms so its cool to hear people having fun :) service was great! the ladies are rly nice

It's expensive here. The food isn't even good. The chickens dry, tteokboki(spicy rice cakes) sauce is flavorless, kimchi pork stir fry is just really bad, chicken gizzards are also dry, clam soup and mussel soup are just ok, the wings' breading is too thick.. and so much more. The servers are nice but just really pricey for a place like this. It's supposed be like a neighborhood drinking spot but they charge like a rooftop bar.

My first time at OB square and let me tell you, I already want to go back! I came on a late night and was seated immediately. Keep in mind, they set the temperature inside pretty chilly so bring a jacket if you are planning to visit in the evening. Ordering was very simple using the tablet at the table. All items had photos to go with the dish which was great for me since I am a visual person. Food came out quickly and soon after we ordered. Spicy noodles with rice cakes was delish but be prepared for the spice! I really enjoyed the corn cheese but missed the mark with the cheese pull. Overall flavor was great though and I'd order it again. My favorite dish had to be the OB fried gizzards though. I am not usually a gizzard person but we tried it anyways. Surprisingly, I kept going back in for more and it did not have any particular smell. The seasoning and batter was PERFECT. Not too much batter, crispy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. If you aren't in love with gizzards, try their wings or other fried dishes that have their 'OB' seasoning. It is an Asian style salt and pepper with onions and jalapeño.

This is one of my favorite late night Korean spots in the OC! It's also one of our go-to spots. I've always enjoyed their food. I love their chicken wings, noodle dishes, and pigs feet. My personal favorite is their Army stew. This definitely can feed a group of people, but my husband and I love getting it so we can bring home left overs (hehe). We've also have booked their Karaoke rooms. It's a lot of fun! Pretty big room for a huge group and you can munch on some food as you sing your heart out. I've always loved their service! Super attentive and nice! They are also very considerate! And As Always, NOM 4 LIFE!

Kimchi fried rice, OB wings and bulgogi hot stone pot are delicious. Friendly service, they don't rush you and treat you like family. Ample parking and attentive service.

OB Square is the spot for some delicious Korean pub food! This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. They are open til 1am everyday and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays! Inside, they have a casual setup with a good amount of seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different wings, noodles, and other dishes to choose from. Wifey and I opted for a spread consisting of the OB Chicken Gizzards, Black Bean Noodles, and the Garlic and Thai Chicken Wings. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and everything hit the spot! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend getting any of their fried chicken options. We will definitely be back for some more late night eats!

I came here with a party of 4 on a Friday at 11pm and we were seated immediately. We ordered a wide variety of dishes including kimchi fried rice, jajangmyeon, pork belly and bok choy, and 3 dishes of chicken wings. Everything was so delicious! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the parking outside is never an issue.

family favorite spot! we love going here to enjoy some beer and korean dishes. our go to items are the kimchi pork belly tofu, noodles with golbaengi, ob wings or korean wings, and the jokbal (cold). and if you want a soup we recommend the fish cake soup. always get a pitcher or two of coors light. this place always hit the spot. service is friendly and good. definitely recommend if you want beer and some good food. :)

I would've never thought to come here, but so happy I did. We went on a Sunday night and there weren't too many people there. We got seated super quick and all the ladies who work there are so kind. I think we went a little over board and ordered too many things, but they were all very delicious. We started with the kimchi pancake (highly recommend) and the rolled eggs (also highly recommend). Then we moved onto their fried chicken. It was so crispy and delicious! We also had the black bean noodles and a soju cocktail mix. This is definitely a place I would revisit in the near future. :)

If you're going with a few people, the Braised Spicy Premium Beef Ribs with the flat glass noodles is definitely the move. The portion easily feeds two to three. The meat is super tender and just falls off the bone, covered in a rich, spicy sauce that has a nice kick to it. The flat glass noodles soak up all that sauce, and the chunks of kabocha squash add a slight sweetness that balances out the spicy, heavy beef. Service is super fast. You get your banchan pretty much the second you sit down, and the food comes out steaming hot without a long delay. If you're looking for a quick group lunch spot where you can split something huge and spicy, it's definitely worth coming here.

Coworker has been raving about this place since I knew him - so we finally managed to grab lunch here on a Thursday. Service is typical Asian restaurant - fast, efficient, mildly friendly. You know the food is good when they don't make small talk. There's tons of seating inside, and one table outside - but not sure if the one outside is just for you to wait for your table inside. Despite it being packed for lunch, we were able to hear each other just fine. Plates, bowls, utensils, cups are all on your table - which is a huge plus - no need to flag anyone down. There's a pitcher of water, and a thermos of their famous bone broth - which was my choice of drink for my meal. I left all the ordering to my coworker - who was careful to order non-spicy selections - since I have a low spice tolerance. Our orders: * Dolpan Mushroom Bulgogi - this was a delicious dish in a hot stone. Mushroom and beef over rice with a semi mild spicy sauce. My tablemates were forgiving in that they ordered everything without spice, and added spice on their own. * Fried Squid - sorta like calamari, but prepared differently. This was great on its own, has a bit of a tempura type of coating. *Braised Short Ribs - this is the dish that my coworker has been hyping up! It's like a short rib stew sorta thing with fish cakes, veggies, in a rich, thick broth. The short ribs were perfectly tender and each bite was full of flavor. Beware - this entree is $70 to $90 - not a typo. It's easily 3x to 4x as much as any other entree on the menu. We were served purple rice - which I thought was awesome - perfectly soft, moist, and fluffy. We also had a great helping of banchan - table favorites were the Korean cubed jelly, fish cakes, kimchee radishes and the squash. As mentioned, service was prompt and attentive. Our banchan was refilled without us having to ask. Parking CAN get messy. I parked on the surface, but there is supposedly an underground parking area underneath the shopping plaza.

We ordered food in Korean so no miscommunication here.

My friend also let me try the beef bone soup that came on the side, and I had the same impression. After the meal, I felt sick and nauseous from its artificial tastes. The condiments and everything we ordered were also extremely sweet, which overwhelmed the flavors and was disappointing for Korean food. Overall, the food simply did not taste authentic or made with the quality of ingredients I expected. I really dislike leaving negative reviews because I genuinely want to support local restaurants. However, based on what we were served, I cannot recommend this place. The restaurant presents itself as an authentic seolleongtang restaurant, and one entire wall is covered with large advertisements emphasizing its authenticity. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to those claims. I was also confused by the restaurant's name, YiGah, because it sounds essentially the same in Korean as the well-known LeeGa name in Los Angeles. That initially gave me a different expectation of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was simply terrible during our visit. I hope they will improve the quality, especially the broth and seasonings.

First time diner and reviewer…read more I've eaten at plenty of AYCE Korean BBQ restaurants, but this was the first time I got to self-serve the meats! I love the meat and veggies bar where I can pick and choose what meats I want at the portions I'm comfortable with. The problem with most AYCE BBQ restaurants is that they always give so much meat. Even if I ask them to provide half they would refuse for some reason. Since I don't really like bothering servers all the time, asking them to bring more food to the table, I really love the freedom of getting the meats myself at my own pace. This way I can control the frequency, the portions and won't end up paying extra for leftovers I couldn't finish. For an affordable lunch menu they do offer a good variety of meat and side dish options. The food is delicious. The marinades are bold and flavorful, although they can be a bit overwhelming. I do wish they had some kind of dressing for the salad. The service is friendly. The server was super nice and attentive, coming around to change the grill often. Definitely coming back.
