Love Oakobing! Usually I have a great experience because the shaved ice quality is pretty good and ends up being pretty creamy. I've gotten the Oreo shaved ice and the strawberry Matcha shaved ice in the past and both have been pretty delicious. Service is minimal because you just order on the screen and then your dessert will come out fairly quickly. Luckily, we went on a weekday so it wasn't as busy but other reviews have said that there's sometimes a line. Ambience is fairly snug with limited seating if you visit during peak hours. Parking is limited outside to street parking and metered parking.
This location is small and the line was long but the service is fast. You can't really see the employees of the store because you wait in line order at the single kiosk then pick up your order. This dessert is amazing though. I am hooked and will be looking for this stuff in any city I visit. Cheers!
presentation here is phenomenal. they had a huuuuuuuge shaved snow with a little pyramid wall of melon balls and a light milk drizzle. the mango snow was ok, it wasn't creamy enough to my liking and the flavor was mid. i didn't like the lack of toppings variety here, and the snow not being of a stand out flavor/texture made it just average for me. my dog liked it tho
This place is really enjoyable! Paying upfront might be a little different, but it's all part of the experience. We enjoyed some delicious Matcha, mango , and melon --all very refreshing and clean. Just a heads-up, it tends to get quite busy after 3pm on Sundays, so it's a cozy, family-friendly spot with small seating. Hope you have a great time!
We entered, it's a small place, but it was nice and bright. We ordered on the screen, paid, and then waited for them to call us. The shaved ice came out quickly. So glad we came before the rush as after we got our shaved ice, there ran out of seats! The ice was very soft and we loved how it was not too sweet but we could add some watered down condensed milk on top if we wanted to. The flavors also really came through in the ice. The whole dessert was absolutely light, refreshing, and delicious. They also have lattes and croffles. I highly recommend. We got the mango melon & strawberry matcha shaved ice. Will definitely be back to try the strawberry and black sesame!

Walked over after having dinner nearby. It was just ok. The dessert is refreshing but mochi was tiny and hard. The menu is very limited. The portion is huge and definitely shareable. The matcha latte was not good. It tasted artificial.
This was my first time experiencing bingsu and it did not disappoint. Although this is located in the heart of Pasadena, the distance it took to get there is well worth it. Many flavors and side options to choose from. I had the Injeolmi and the mixture of milk and red beans is just pure heaven!
This is one of the dessert spots I keep coming back to. Compared to other places in Pasadena, it's a solid option for both price and quality. My girlfriend and I usually go for the injeolmi and then pick another flavor depending on the day. I was a bit disappointed to see that they no longer carry black sesame. I've seen people complain about the wait time, but the shop is usually run by just one or two people, so a line is kind of expected. If there's a long wait, it might be better to try somewhere else nearby.
I came here with my sister in a hot day. Definitely the place to be when we wanted a cold sweet treat. We ordered from the kiosk and waited at the table. It is a small place with some tables. The place had a a clean look to it. They also have free water. My sister got the Oreo tiramisu and I got the strawberry. We liked that they come in individual sizes but even then I think we could've shared. Both were super refreshing although I definitely liked the strawberry more because it was more refreshing.

Absolutely love this place. The flavor is amazing and very light. I rarely take pictures but this was a work of art.
UPDATED: It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get shaved ice. We drove here specifically to try this place as kiddo and hubby wanted shaved ice. We arrived to a packed cafe but we still got in line to order something from a kiosk as the line wasn't bad. While the line was short the line didn't move very fast at all. All the tables were full but no one except one table was eating any shaved ice. While we waited to order an announcement came over the PA not to order extra fruit. Then a few minutes later, they announced that they were cutting off orders then another 10 minutes they shut down orders until 4pm. I'm an hour in and I still do not have any shaved iced. I don't care how popular or viral a place gets. When you have two people in the back and backed up orders that you can't fill, you simply don't know the operations portion of your business. You could pay two, three more kids $15 bucks and rake in more profits. Instead you have a bunch of pissed off people. Below is a picture of the shaved ice of the only people eating in the full cafe when I walked in. I wonder if we will ever get ours?

Amazing! Just pay attention to the sizes because my fiancé order for us and he told the cashier "shaved ice" and this is the size they gave us. This size, one could be split between 2-3 people. It's very HUGE! They do have small sizes, come to find out. The shaved ice was very delicious, we definitely will be coming back! When we went, the store was packed, which is always a good size. We got a seat right away but it is first come first serve. It's a small shop but everything was clean and the decor is bright and airy. read more

In the past, I've had mediocre bingsoo so I had low expectations, but the bingsoo here is so good! The three of us shared the melon bingsoo and not only was the presentation on point so was the taste! The shaved ice isn't just little ice crystals with milk poured over it, but the ice was infused with the milk and it actually tasted like melons. It was also served in half a melon which made for good pics! I was a little disappointed in the lack of topping choices, but otherwise had a good experience. There is also plenty of seating both inside and outside of the establishment. People don't seem to linger too long and there was always available seating around us. For the amount of people that were waiting, the turnaround time to get the bingsoo was also reasonable. read more

Oakobing was so delicious that I went twice within the same day with two different groups of people because having that Mango Melon Bingsoo just once is not enough. We ordered three separate desserts to share between three people - the Mango Melon Bingsoo, the Green Tea Bingsoo, and the Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsoo. Each dessert comes with a condensed milk topping flavored with the respective complementary flavor. The Mango Melon - my personal favorite of the three - is light and refreshing with a slight minty aftertaste. The mango flavor surprisingly complements the honeydew melon flavor very well, and the pieces of honeydew used for the topping are juicy and sweet. The Green Tea had a deliciously rich matcha flavor similar to a matcha-flavored ice cream but lighter. The Strawberry Cheesecake (which came with an actual slice of a tasty cheesecake) is the sweetest of the three, but the strawberry flavor complements the creamy cheesecake very well. The regular sized portions are fairly large and are meant to be shared between a group of people (unless you have a large appetite like we did). The small sizes are catered for individuals who want a lighter dessert after a big meal. At $6 for a small and $14~ for a regular, Oakobing is decently affordable as an after-dinner treat. read more

Yes! So excited to see my friend bookmark this place. I thought I had to go all the way to Rowland Heights for some Korean shaved ice- but nope! I have one local now and I couldn't be more excited! Melty flavored ice with a free shot of condensed milk?! They're too kind. I love how aesthetically pleasing they make their snow & the easy self-order kiosk is perfect for fast service. Came here to catch up with a old friend from college! It was our first time and we were so excited to try it! It was so good. We weren't sure on how big the regular sized shaved ice was so we got the minis. So glad we did! I could barely finish mine. The shaved ice is so good itself. I really love how light and tasty it is. Such a cute place! You can park In the parking structure right cross from the place. You just need to get a ticket and walk over. The place is small and not much seating so keep that in mind. They have their own stand so you can self check out and order! Their menu is a good variety. You can get a large option and share but we ended up getting the single serve ports in which is a good amount. We tried the melon, strawberry and matcha. All were really good! Shaved ice is soft and fluffy, really good texture. The fruit was fresh and does not taste artificial. Very milky. Matcha was yummy and came with mochi! It all comes with condensed milk on the side. My partner and I went to this place since it was much closer to us than the korea town location. when we walked in the place it had a very smell, almost like raw sewage. we came to this location on april 4, 2022 at around 9pm. though we pushed through thinking that was just our noses being funny. when looking for a table, a majority of the ones there are very small and dirty. there seemed to be no worker available to wipe it down, thus leaving many of the tables with sticky residue that customers had to find ways to clean themselves. the shaved ice itself was pretty good, the frozen melon at the bottom was a nice touch along side it's appealing looks. though as of writing this review my partner and i seem to both have some type of food poisoning, we deduced it to be this item of food that we ate because of the place not only being unclean but also smelling extremely bad. most likely never going to this location again until updates about this place's sanitation are given. this was especially heart breaking to go through since we were both extremely excited to try this place's bingsoo. Though with the food poisoning we were given, we will not recommend this location to others. read more

Delicious nokcha bingsu. They have a small space and it gets kind of crowded inside if it's busy and there is a line. There is also limited outside seating. The bungsu was light and fluffy, red beans had a good flavor and mochi were perfect as well. The single is big enough to share, especially if you've already had a meal. read more

So happy I don't need to drive to Ktown to get bingsu anymore. Lots of 90 min free lots nearby or come after 8pm and street parking is free. read more

Not what I expected for shave ice. I'm more of a Taiwanese or Hawaiian shave ice kind of girl. The shave ice is more like shaved ice cream but the portions are definitely huge. We got the singles but I think it's more a doubles kind of match! It's get four stars for ice cream lovers who like it shaved and portion sizes! Worth trying but not sure if I would crave it anytime soon. read more

We ordered two shaved ice here for the first time. Big portion, tastes and look great! We spent almost $50 on two shaved ice, which is quite expensive IMO. Parking is $15 next to this place, but right across the street only $5. read more
This place deserves so much credit! I got the mango shaved ice with melon and it tasted so creamy and fruity. I loved it. I got a single serving and was able to share it with someone else and it was the perfect size. They really don't skimp out on the portions here and you'll leave satisfied. This location has very limited parking. You're going to have to park in the public parking structure with 90 min free and walk over or find street parking around the block. Inside is a bit cramped but everyone is coming here for the food not ambiance! Super nice lowkey spot to get dessert. Will probably come back to try other items. read more

Came here due to a recommendation from a colleague and I loved it. The ice is so finely shaved and I love the options for add ons. I opted for a simple Oreo Shaved Ice and added an extra shot of condensed milk as well as a slice of cheesecake. I wasn't expecting a whole slice of cheesecake it rather, crumbles of it to be included, but I wasn't disappointed. My date who has never had shaved ice also loved it and had we not been so full from our earlier dinner, would've have gotten another to share. Great dessert shop in the area! A little off of the Main Street and has a decent amount of seating inside. Tables clear up pretty fast though so it's not too difficult to grab one even if it's busy. To order, there's a kiosk in the front and then they call your name to pick it up from the counter. Each single size is 6.50$ and the larger sizes are around 15-16$. We got three single sizes for 4 people and it was more than enough. I've also gotten a larger size for 2 people and that was too much for reference. Honestly, the single size is enough to share between 2 people. Injeolmi flavor is my favorite - it's subtle and not too sweet. Tastes a little nutty. It's the Injeolmi powder on top with the flavor, but make sure to not inhale it. Matcha and melon flavors are also good - the melon was a lot sweeter. Each one comes with Mochi! read more

Oakobing serves Korean bingsu (shaved ice). Since we were taking ours to go, we got single serving ones of mango melon, strawberry, and injeolmi. They are all great for different reasons. The mango melon is the prettiest with melon balls over a sweet and tart mango ice. The strawberry has a classic fruity, creamy vibe. The injeolmi is lovely with milk ice, layered in started soybean powder, and chewy mochi. The condensed milk adds sweetness and we loved them all. There are also waffles and the big monster sharing sizes of bingsu. There is ample seating indoors and a few tables outdoors. read more

Ordered a single serving of mango melon shaved ice with a side of strawberry. Perfect size to share with another person. Very creamy, tasted like ice cream. Didn't have the shaved ice texture at all. Scooped balls of melon were delish. The side of strawberries were sour, especially after having a taste of the bingsoo. There's a parking garage nearby, managed to snag a spot on the street. Order at the pad and pick up at the counter. You can choose to dine in or takeout. There's a couple tables to dine at. Would visit again and try their other flavors. read more

Yummyyyyy! This place was exactly what I was hoping for and more. We got the strawberry shaved ice with extra condensed milk on the side and it was so good. It reminded me of the Korean strawberry milk I used to drink as a kid :) I'm a huge fan of condensed milk so the two combined was just a match made in heaven. This place was pretty busy on a Saturday night so we had to wait a little but we didn't mind at all! Will definitely be back here :) read more

I cannot tell you how much joy finding this place brought me, especially as someone who grew up loving shaved ice with red beans. The presentation of every dessert here was immaculate, but the best part was that the flavor could back up the 5-star appearance. I love sweet red beans so we had to order the green tea shaved ice, which comes with mochi and red beans. Everything about this flavor combination was amazing, it had a refreshing taste, and the shaved ice had the perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. The regular size was great to share between 2-3 people. I'm so excited to go back and try the melon shaved ice next time, which we saw a lot of people ordering! [ Seating ] While it can definitely get crowded during high times, we found that the indoor tables seemed to free up in the time we were waiting for the dessert [ Service ] We ordered digitally on a tablet inside the shop and the dessert came about pretty quickly! I have passed by the Oakobing in Ktown for years, but never stopped by. I would say Oakobing is on par with Sul and Bean taste wise. How to order: order and pay via the tablet in the store. When your order is ready, they call your name and you pick up at the counter Taste: I got the green tea individual and my friends got the black sesame full size. The green tea one came with a green tea condensed milk to drizzle and the black sesame came with a condensed milk. Both were flavorful and moderately sweet. The full size one came on a plate instead of a bowl which I found interesting. It made it a little hard to eat since it would crumble onto the tray. Location: right next to Home brewed and king taco. I recommend the matcha shaved ice. The flavor isn't as strong but it wasn't heavily sweet as well. Takes at least 5 minutes to make on average or longer if there's a line. They have a machine for you to order at the front and parking is limited to street parking or nearby on Fair Oaks and Colorado for $1 the first 90 minutes. read more
I went to the K-Town location is Los Angeles. The shaved ices are done beautifully presentation wise! The store, however was packed and had quite a long wait, but this was expected on a Saturday afternoon. The mango shaved ice was fresh and nice, however it was not too creamy (as for my own taste I'd prefer it creamier!) The mangoes were really ripe and sweet which was a bonus! Service was so-so as they forgot my tab but the store was apologetic about it. They also offer free water which was nice as it was a hot day! I probably would not pay another visit as it doesn't suit my personal taste, but don't let that discourage you from a visit especially if you're looking for a fresher tasting and less creamy shaved ice! read more

I'm not usually a bingsu person, but we were looking for a dessert place in old town that closes late and were happy to stumble upon this place. They close at 10p! We tried the Injeolmi, which tasted like a milk base with a side of red beans and mochi. It's large, good enough to share, and was not overwelmingly sweet or icy. In fact, it was kind of fluffy and smooth to taste. The last time I had bingsu was probably a decade ago, so I don't have much to compare with, but I can attest that during my visit the restaurant was clean, their dessert was nice, and their service was quick! read more

I was so sad they were out of the mango flavor when I got there. But the two flavors we got were still delicious! The single servings are pretty large too. We really loved that the Oreo tiramisu came with espresso which was yummy. read more

The best shaved ice ever in my life! I visited here because I always loved the same store in K-town, which is very famous too. Milk based shaved ice is so soft and sweet with lots of variations you can choose, and the croffle thing(croissant made like waffle) is the killer. Nice clean store on a beautiful store. Everyone should visit! read more
Came here for late night desserts with friends! Parking was easy, there's a structure right across the street and there's other structures nearby if you want to walk. It's a small store but does offer enough seating for multiple parties. You order on a tablet and they'll call your name when the order is ready. We got three different single serving sizes (strawberry, matcha, and cantaloupe) and they were all delicious! I liked the different drizzling syrup that they paired with each bingsoo. Although we were pretty full from dinner so we couldn't finish it. Unfortunately they did not have a lid for that size togo so they had to give us a smaller lid meant for smoothies, however it did the job and the leftovers made it home safe. read more

Old town pasadena has 3 free 90 minute parking lots ($2/hour after and there is a set amount past a certain time at night) on Green Street, De Lacey Avenue, and Raymond Avenue. The Raymond parking lot is closest to oakobing.
