Muscle guy with thin eyebrows that works here is very rude. Had to get him to help me out and when I asked for help he dismissed me and looked annoyed. Spending 200 dollars for lenses and this guy was rude and gave me disgusted looks for asking questions like I was bothering and inconveniencing his precious time. Long story short I have a pair of Oakley sun glasses noticed my left side lenses a little crack. Checked out the the Ala Moana shopping center location . Mitchell salesperson assisted me and he had the best customer service I ever received in a long time . He explained that the lenses will cost $120 a pair than if I wanted to buy a whole new pair of sunglasses it was $235?. Since my sunglasses is about 1 year old I just ask for the lenses. Than got to the counter Mitchell asked if I worked for all kinds of organizations? He said I'll receive 15% discount. He replied Law enforcement, military, I said no to all of them . Normally most salesperson would end there but not Mitchell he also mention what about Department of Education . I said yes I work at a school than he said no problem he gave me the discounts. His customer service didn't end there he also gave me a brand new additional lenses for free because he explained that he will process a warranty on the crack lenses because since it was barely 1 year he said it shouldn't have crack in the area I had the crack . I was super happy so I thought I definitely will take the time out to acknowledge Mitchell for a 5 star rating in customer service satisfaction. Wonderful Customer Service at the Oakly Store at the Ala Moana Shopping Center from Kimo. I walked in trying to find replacement lenses for my Oakley Five. Kimono helped me navigate their website on their iPad. Unfortunately, my version is obsolete. I was so disappointed since it's so hard for me to find sunglasses because a have a narrow bone structure. I had replaced the lenses twice before. Kimo made some suggestions for other sunglasses without being pushy at all. It was just like having a casual conversation. I ended up with my new sunglasses. There was a sale promotion of "Buy 1, get 1 half off", but I asked if they offered any other type of discount. I did not have any military service, but he asked if I worked in the medical field I think, or I mentioned it, and was able to get a 15% discount with my company ID. AWESOME!! Wow! I was blown away by the level of customer service my bf and I received at this location. I didn't catch her name, but the girl who worked on 6/18 in the late evening was amazing! My bf was looking for sunglasses to wear for sports. He had no clue what to look for, but she stepped in and helped him pick out which sunglasses would be best. She was super knowledgeable on all of the products and very friendly! She also wasn't pushy and just seemed like she genuinely wanted to help us find the perfect sunglasses. Just an update to my review last week. I bought the wrong size polo shirts for my husband. Since he works in Waikiki, I gave him the shirts and the gift receipt so he could go to exchange it on the way home. He exchanged one of the shirts but kept the black one because it wasn't as big as the other shirt.. plus he really liked the pattern. When he got home, I asked him how was the service. Omg, he raved about the service he got. He said the young, buff guy brought a variety of shirts for him to try in his size... and he said the store was kind of busy. He came home happy! I've owned quite a few pairs of Oakley sunglasses, but unfortunate for me, since I'm so irresponsible about taking care of my sunglasses, I've also lost quite a few pairs...........which leads me to here. I bet you were thinking I was gonna get another pair of sunglasses huh? Wrong! Lol! I actually came here for buy a shirt for my good friend, as his burfday is just around the corner. Some of the clothing gear they sell over here are geared for athletic use, like quick drying shirts. My friend is very involved with his kids activities, and volunteers his time with his kids athletic events, as well as volunteering at his local church. I know he likes those quick drying shirts (as he must be a sweaty guy) so I figured I'd pick him up a shirt. This small little shop is located on the main level of Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is kinda near the Longs Drugs area (well, across from Longs Drugs) and I must say it is kinda modern looking. The clerks were very friendly, as when I walked into the store, they greeted me right away. The clerks will ask you if you needed help on anything, and then they will leave you be to browse around without anyone pressuring you. Today, I got dragged to the Oakley store again at Ala Moana by my girl. This is the only second time I've been in this store. My first time here was also with her. She's an Oakley fanatic. That was about three months ago. I'm aware that they've had poor customer service in the past. The two times that I've been here, customer service has been spot on. They must have changed management or hired new workers because service was excellent. Both times, I wasn't planning to buy anything but ended up leaving with a pair of shades. All the associates were very helpful. Each of them approached me and asked If I needed any help. I'm not really into Oakley. I'm more of a Prada or Gucci girl, so I had a ton of questions. They were patient and answered all my questions. They took out their brochure and even showed me all the new styles that were coming out. The last time I bought a pair of polarized custom Frogskins. This time, I purchased the polarized Flak 2.0, which only came out yesterday. I also tried on this pair of limited edition shades that cost $400. Obviously, I did not get it. It looked horrendous on me but looked good on the two guys working there. My friend said that they looked like Mad Max shades, lol. I didn't get the name of it. read more

Just came home and I had to upgrade this store to the perfect 5. While I did stick to my previous suggestion of customizing online, that doesn't exactly mean I give up on purchasing in-store products forever. Additional tips: 1. Do your research! If you understand exactly what you are buying, you can justify the purchase better. "Isn't that what employees are for?" -- That's like saying, "I'm in a care home... I pay these people to wipe my ass." -- Don't be so full of yourself. 2. Customized glasses can be made online OR in store. In store you must ask an employee. Hence, the sign that says "Employees Only" over their computer. Reason of upgrade: In the past, I've experienced the good and the bad from this store. Today was definitely my best experience. Walked into the store and I was greeted by Kona (hope I got your name right). I had an issue with my new replacement lenses brought back from Vegas this morning. One lens had an internal blotch next to "polarized" and the other lens had a bump or a scratch on them. Mind the fact that these lenses were from Vegas, meaning I don't have a local store receipt. Kona inspected the lens and came to the same conclusion as I did, the blotched lens was no fault of my own. He explained the situation and let me know what my options were. Although it looked like I would have to go to Oakley Corporate with this problem, he was able to bring up his Asst. Manager for a consult. Second inspection came up with the same result. Now I was really worried. The fact that I spent over $1,000 in this store and at least $2,000 at Oakley as a whole, inside, I was DEMANDING this get fixed NOW. Luckily, the Asst. Manager gave the clerk approval to switch out just the blotched lens. Now, I was feeling a little iffy at this point because I know I didn't do anything to damage the other lens either but they're only replacing ONE? That's not fair. I should just go to Corporate and get a whole new set! But I sucked it up. My left eye has astigmatism anyway, I won't notice the scratch. However, while Kona was switching out the lens for me, the Asst Manager came up again and approved the full exchange for both lenses. THANK YOU SIR! Man I was so stoked that my $100 didn't go to waste on these new lenses. I'll be taking these up to Seattle in a couple months to snowboard. I would've bought goggles, but that'd be a one-time use. These guys had a system laid out and it WORKED. Clerk helps customer but is limited on options. Escalated situation (on his own - without being asked like the other guy last time) to someone with more authority. Problem was solved before going any higher. I understand this was under special circumstances and they may not be able to do this for everyone, but I will say that this will be my primary store as long as I'm on Oahu. They have the perfect personalities for their positions. I think I would have bought the store if they were selling it! They -as well as the rest of the staff, were very patient, not pushy, knowledgeable about the products they were endorsing and selling. They were even able to get me discounts that I did not know was available at that time. If you're a First Responder humbly inquire if you qualify for one of these discounts. I really dont like to write bad reviews but I truly believe it would defeat the purpose of writing reviews in the first place. In this case I feel it's worthy of one. My friend was trying on pair after pair because he couldn't make up his mind because the part of the shades that sits on your nose was too high. Now taking that into consideration, the asian female worker just was standing behind us was watching us and could hear what the problem was but offered no help as to what models would fit until I asked her. Straight to the point, she was rude. Not once did she crack a smile and it seemed to me we were annoying to her. My friend is a really nice guy and kind hearted and soft spoken. The way she was talking to him was really burning me up inside. Where do they find these workers? He finally found a pair of fuel cells and on the way to check them out I told him if your investing in a pair, it's best to buy a vault to keep them in to avoid damage which he took my advice. When he was paying for it I told my friend to go on line and register your glasses with oakley.com so it will be on record for your warranty. The girl has the nerve to tell me in a sassy way that " you dont need to, all you need is the receipt." I told the girl, " but what if you lose your receipt, you still gonna honor the warranty?" She said "no. Well frickin duh!!! Seriously, I really had to bit my tongue. I would recommend anyone who buys a pair to register it online. Its your backup plan if you do lose your receipt. I've bought many shade before at other stores and this is the first time I've ever experienced such rudeness and bad advice. I'd really hate to think that customer service is lost. This is my husband's favorite store in Ala Moana Shopping Center! Location: It's located on the second floor not to far from Banana Republic and Longs Drugs. Sales: There is always a good sale! The current sale was buy one get one half off clothing and accessories. Merchandise: There bags and sunglasses are awesome! My husband owns The Kitchen Sink Backpack and wears it everyday. It's a very heavy duty bag. My husband loves Oakley sunglasses. He wears his sunglasses daily as well and it has held up well. We have bought replacement lenses here for older model sunglasses. Prices: Expect to pay $100-$200 for a heavy duty backpack. It's well worth the price. Replacement lenses cost around $80. Service: Friendly service! The staff are proactive and help you find what your looking for and are knowledgable about the product. Overall, we love the brand and will continue to visit this store! read more

I needed to change my lens on my Oakley sunglasses and decided to take care of it the other day at the Oakley Store Ala Moana. The customer service was excellent as not only did the sales person change my lens but he also cleaned my frame and added missing nose pieces that I did not realize were missing. Although it may not be considered much, going that extra mile is always noted and appreciated by customers. The reason for the docked star is because of the prices of the items compared to other options. I pair of replacement lens cost $99.99 plus tax at the Oakley store and $45.00 with 5% off if using an Amazon credit card. I'm usually very frugal but wanted my lens fixed ASAP. I went to the Oakley store yesterday looking for a new pair of sunglasses at about mid day at Ala Moana center. As I entered, no one greeted me or made eye contact, which was ok. Then I made my way to the display cases on to my left, which had an assortment of sunglasses and yet no one has approached me at this point. All the associates were either occupied with one customer chatting away or they chatted amongst themselves. I left without buying anything and without anyone saying "thank you" or "comeback again"! I have a older pair of prescription Oakley sunglasses of which the plastic on the temples were cracking and deteriorating. I searched Oakley online and no replacements were available. I called the Oakley store at Ala Moana and spoke with Amanda Braley, who told me to come in and see her in hopes of a remedy fix. Amanda did not have replacements either, but she placed silicon "socks" over the existing deteriorating temples. She took the time to precisely cut the socks to perfectly fit the temples, and gave me an extra pair to take home with me to slip on myself, no charge! Viola, it worked! I commend Amanda and the Oakley Store Ala Moana for the great customer service. Amanda truly cared about my situation and totally helped me with the fix of my prescription Oakley sunglasses!!! There isn't any way that my experience could have been improved. Yaya help me and she was fantastic! I really didn't have any expectations coming to the Oakley store other than I was pretty sure that my replacement lenses would be in stock. My glasses fell off my head two days ago and I knew that I needed to get a new pair of lenses. Yaya was very friendly and eager to help me anyway she could. She really made it feel like I was important and she cared. She helped me look through all the different kinds of lenses and when she asked me where I originally purchased them I let her know it was at the sunglasses hut. I now know that the Oakley store offers the best customer service and I will only be going through the hoagie store directly from now on. She help me find the right pair of lenses and cleaned everything up for me and suggested using the leash to help avoid further accidents. Modern day bromances are adorable and I love watching them evolve over time. It's like watching puppies frolick together in the park. My boyfriend is going to be in a wedding in January and the groom is buying him Oakley sunglasses for the ceremony. Aren't bromances the best? It was our first time to the Oakley store as this isn't a brand we buy very often. The store is narrow, but slick and the sales guys are helpful. Almost overly helpful. As we tried on different pairs of sunglasses a sales guy stood to the left of us and threw in his unsolicited two cents: (Boyfriend tries on a pair) SALES GUY: Nope those aren't the ones. This Oakley store has 3 things going for it: 1. The location on the mall level of Ala Moana... Compared to the one in Waikiki where parking is either hard to find or expensive, what local resident wouldn't want to come here to shop for Oakley stuff(unless they live or work in Waikiki). 2. A good selection of the current season's clothing & accessories, as well as sunglasses. The good thing about the sunglasses is if you see a new style that they just released, you can try it on and see how it looks before deciding if you want to buy which is something you can't easily do when shopping online. 3. 2 employees here are actually decent and seem interested in helping people and are friendly and seem like they know the product(you will see below why this is a good thing). With those things stated though, they are not a good enough reason for me to recommend shopping at this location for any Oakley sunglasses or accessories. Everytime I've come to this location to browse & see what new sunglass styles have been released, I've never been greeted when entering. In fact, it feels like a lot of the employees here give you a look as if you don't belong there. Also, they seem to have this tendency to stand around and talk to each other or friends that have stopped in despite the fact that there are customers. Seriously, everytime I've come to this location, I always see a good handful of customers come in and not get greeted or even helped until they shyly walk up and ask for help. Don't get me wrong, I understand that working retail isn't the most pleasant of jobs but at least greet people when they come in and ask them for help at least once while they're browsing! Add to all of this the fact that they tend to really do the least amount for the customer when you finally do manage to get someone to help you... I mean seriously... Most of the time that I've asked questions about some of the sunglasses on display, they act like it's such a pain in the ass to answer questions or even act like I should know the information they're giving me. To give an example, when I asked about what customizations they do in the store, the person that helped me acted like I was supposed to know that they can only change out the lenses at the retail location! To top it all off, when I asked that same person about what lens colors are available, they seemed to get even more irritated that they had to tell me that too!!(Note: there are no catalogs or anything laying around that have this information on their showfloor) Honestly, although I do like a lot of the stuff that Oakley makes, I'd rather shop online or elsewhere for their product rather than be ignored or treated with contempt by the people that work at this store. Who in their right would want to come & shop at a place that they didn't feel welcome at??
