They partner with local artists to create some very unique designs and everything is made with great care and high quality. I think my favorite part about this store is that you can customize your own frame. You first select the base size, then pick the frame and you can select additional wooden elements for decoration. They turn out very cute and I think it makes it a very memorable souvenir. Besides the frames, they also have amazing art pieces and smaller gift items like magnets and coasters. They also have a very nice selection of Christmas ornaments which I think are way better than the ones they sell at the Christmas stores in Waikiki. If you want a unique and high quality souvenir from your time in Oahu. I definitely recommend checking out this store!

However, be prepared to pay more than what you'd expect as other reviewers had pointed out - the prices are high for what these items really should cost, which sucks, but I believe there is a reason(s) for this. I purchased a small plush keychain, a tee, a magnet and a sticker and the cost was just over $90 - the cost of the tee surprised me the most as it's $55 and I was expecting this to be more in the $40-$45 range. The store is on the smaller side and even on a weekday afternoon after 3pm, it was packed. It's located at the end of the row of stores, adjacent to the side of the Royal Hawaiian where the Sheraton is. Staff at the store were nice and helpful with any questions that I had. Besides the plushies, they had a great selection of stickers as well as magnets and keychains. For decades, I was aware of how popular Miffy has been in Japan (my cousin in Japan had Miffy items since the 90's), but for the U.S., I feel it has become increasingly popular within the last 2-4 years or so. I'm not sure if it's possibly because the creator, Dick Bruna had passed away in 2017 and since then, licensing and the creation of more Miffy merch and collabs may have become more easier to come out with, at least that's been the speculation. Although I'm generally not a fan at all of Hello Kitty or Sanrio, nor do I particularly like rabbits, there is something about Miffy that does appeal to me more than Sanrio characters - likely the simple design and neutral expression on Miffy and that it came before Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and its European vibes. Before this, I'd ordered a plush Miffy keychain from the Kira online shop in SF. The keychain ended up being much bigger than expected for me to place on a bag/backpack so I decided that I'd stop by this store during my few days in HI to see if I can find a smaller keychain and maybe a tee as I heard this is currently one of only two Miffy themed stores in the U.S., the other being Miffytown in Kentucky. If you're in Honolulu and are a fan of Miffy, then this is worth checking out.

Shopping in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My friend, Cece, from Northern California, sent me a post about the new Hello Kitty print which was arriving in July 3, 2026. I didn't think anything until she explained that the fresh, green, exclusive design is only available in a backpack, laptop sleeve, pencil case, and lunch bag... plus, it will only be shipped to Hawaii addresses with a minimum purchase of $200 to avoid shipping charges. Uhg... I pondered about what to get. Cece said the pencil case ($32) was on the small side. She went to the store and snapped a few photos with her hand for size comparison. Hmm... I decided on the lunch bag because it included a crossbody strap as well as a handle on the top. Cece stood in line for me and said that the salespeople were super kind and organized. She was first in line and got my bag for me. Later, I went when there was no line. The cozy shop was clean and bright and stocked well! Cashiers were smiling and helpful! I'm so happy with this quality, exclusive product! Thank you, Cece, for helping me with this decision!

This shop has the best selection of Hawaiian apparel I have seen after entering at least 7 different souvenir shops. These shorts were a must as I had a pair of these before and they were really popular souvenirs last time so I had to buy them this time as well! Along with having a great clothing selection, they also carry name plates with names in Japanese which was a first in any shop I've seen so far! I really loved walking through this shop because there was so much to see and look at. They price things incredibly well, and have such a pretty in store display. The friendliness of the store owners made this such a wonderful place to visit, and I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for souvenirs here in Honolulu. The clothing selection is unbeatable, and much nicer than other stores. You can tell this store takes pride in both its service and products made available to customers. The quality of their products is really nice, and everyone who works here is offering help and a friendly greeting. Definitely one to visit when seeking a great souvenir shop! This review is based solely on my experience with the staff during my visit today…read more I've shopped at Pink Box multiple times in the past and have never had any issues, which is why this experience was disappointing. My mom and I stopped in because she was looking for earrings. She had mentioned before that Pink Box has cute selections at reasonable prices, so we decided to browse. While she was looking at earrings and pointing out styles she liked, I was helping her look through them. For context, I don't even wear earrings since I have large gauges, so I wasn't shopping for myself in that section. Afterward, I moved over to the claw clips and was looking through some butterfly clips to see if they came in matching colors. A sales associate approached us and asked if we needed help. We politely said no thank you and continued browsing. What made us uncomfortable was that after that interaction, the employee remained very close to us and appeared to be watching us the entire time. When we moved to a different area, she followed. Whether intentional or not, it felt as though we were being monitored because she suspected we might steal something. My mom and I both noticed it, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. We are paying customers who have visited this store before and have never given anyone a reason to be suspicious of us. I understand that retail employees have a job to do, but there is a difference between being attentive and making customers feel like they're under surveillance. Unfortunately, because of that experience, we didn't feel welcome during our visit.
