I've never been to this store before. My co-worker needed to come here to get a birthday present for a friend, so I accompanied her. The whole store is made up of Hawaiian themed merchandise. There were jewelry, cards, body care items and tons of clothes. They have some really cute items. My friend purchased a set of plastic flower beads to string together to make a necklace. What caught my eye that I really wanted was the sunrise shell necklace. I've always wanted one. The shell has the pink and yellow colors on it to mimic the sunrise. I'm contemplating on getting it as I've wanted one for a while. read more

Sugar Sugar has a lot of really cute bohemian-style clothing and accessories, and the store itself is visually appealing. I went in and out of the dressing rooms a few times while trying on outfits, and none of them had a basket or spot for purses. Each time I had to hang my handbag on a hanger with the clothes, since I refuse to put my handbag on the dirty ground. Finally, the very last dressing room I tried did have a basket at the bottom, which was much better. The clothing and jewelry are adorable -- some even look handmade -- and I did buy a few outfits and a cute pair of earrings. Prices are on the higher side, but the pieces are unique and eye-catching, so if you're looking for something different, it might be worth it. Unfortunately, checkout brought the experience down. Since I didn't need a bag, the sales associate handed me my clothes directly, but forgot my earrings. I didn't notice until I was halfway home. I tried looking everywhere for a phone number -- Yelp, the Ala Moana directory, the internet -- and couldn't find one. The only number I found just rang with no answer. So instead of calling, I had no choice but to drive all the way back through traffic. When I arrived, the sales associate saw me, handed me the earring, and said she was "going to text me." No apology, no "sorry for the inconvenience" -- nothing. Considering they have my number from the rewards program sign-up, that was disappointing. Overall, Sugar Sugar is a cute boutique with stylish pieces, but expect boutique pricing and limited dressing room amenities. The service could use improvement, especially when mistakes happen. read more

Wow! We were roaming around Ala Moana Center's Ewa Wing when we came across this new boutique called "sugar sugar Hawaii" and were drawn in by its window display. Located nearby are the LEGO Store, Gilly Hicks and Homecoming on Level 3. According to the sales representative, they just opened a week ago and they're currently celebrating their Grand Opening. We were mainly drawn in by their home accessories but did also notice fashion accessories, apparel, and stationery. Yeah, the apparel was cute and petite but not age appropriate to me...ah, I can dream on! Anyway, speaking with the sales woman, she mentioned their humble beginnings in the Ohana Hale Marketplace. She's excited for this expansion. Obviously, this store space is much larger than the stall in the marketplace and the displays look more organized and inviting. They're currently open Mon through Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm and Sundays 12 pm to 7 pm. They also feature a loyalty card for purchases for increments of $10. This is my first time here based of Lyla's review. I love the rustic set up with lots of items to buy. They have these collapsible containers with a cap to carry...nice for travel. Baskets and prices on wall are as, large $108, medium $54, and small $30. I did purchase 4 pins with 1 with saying, "Save The Bees". I was on a time limit and will return because I like certain things and had to prioritize my purchases after spending in Lego. There were a good amount of things besides clothes. It's a place to browse and take your time. Masks are required. No hand sanitizers. Friendly... Located two doors from Lego going towards middle of Ala Moana Center. Be safe...Ciao! read more

Cute artsy store with a variety of handcrafted items ranging from bracelets to earrings. Tons of cute T-shirts albeit slightly over priced ($32). The staff is friendly, explaining that most of the items are made on this island or neighboring islands. The theme is definitely hippy to island chic. You can also find home decor, slightly too garden for my taste. Great place to find gifts. They also have a cute baby section. This new store opened right next to Homecoming Honolulu in Ala Moana on the third floor about a month and a half ago. They offer adorable female pieces like dresses, jumpsuits, rompers, tops, bralettes, hair accessories, and jewelry. They also have stickers, pins, candles, greeting cards, soaps, etc. The workers are extremely kind, super cute and helpful. The fitting rooms are also open! I bought five pins ($3 each, buy 4 get one free!) and a bracelet. Definitely going to be frequenting this small local boutique more often! read more

DO NOT GET PERMANENT JEWELRY HERE!!!!! I got a really thick one with a charm at it literally fell off somewhere between the store and car ride home. I went to show my hubby and it was gone THE SAME DAY. It's been a month that I was finally able to make it back up there to see if it was there or what they could do. At first the lady at the front was really nice and took me back to the permanent jewelry and was getting ready to put a new one on for me and then while we were there, she says oh well I won't be able to do anything because you don't have the receipt. After waiting 15 minutes for her to prep. Why would I pay for another one whenever the first one didn't even make it home????? Terrible value if you ask me, doesn't last more than a day. read more

Every piece of jewelry is made by hand and some even boasting precious stones. But the dresses... oh my word... the CUTEST dresses EVER!! Seriously the best selection of French-cottage-meets-LA-in-the-spring... Instagram and pinterest-worthy outfits. Puff Sleeves, fitted bodice, a-line skirts with square and Sweetheart necklines in unique prints and material... Ugh!! I'm in love!! Totally comparable to TwoSisters The Label but at 1/3 of the price. Most dresses range between $40 and $60 and the quality is SO worth it. They are extremely well-made and so stylish! Each piece, whether solid black, solid white or patterned- is absolutely fashion-forward and just so- BOUTIQUE! Not sure if you're like me, but I'm kinda over the mass-production catalogue clothing with the logos printed on the outside that you paid THEM to wear and market? Yeah, no... This shop boasts beautiful clothing and merchandise that screams designer in a tasteful way. Miho, the owner, is kind and helpful. As a mother of 3 young girls, ages 4 and under, it is a little difficult for me to shop without someone else present. She offered to have a few dresses transferred from other locations so that I could try it on at the pearlridge store which is closest to me. While I'm all about convenience, of the two locations that I've been (Ala Moana and Pearlridge) it is definitely worth visiting the Ala Moana location. I feel as though the set-up is easier to navigate, the clothes are displayed in a way that is more organized and easier to see and consider and has a MUCH wider selection. I'm just so stoked to have found beautiful, flattering outfits that make me feel attractive for my husband and a confidence-boost for myself. If I can give a special shout out to Miho and Anunda for making my shopping experience each time a wonderful one! Mahalo nui. I really love this store. There's such a beautiful selection of really feminine dresses, reasonably priced and I can't really think of any other boutique on the island that offers the type of merchandise that they do. However, they clearly have a real fear about loss prevention, which is very understandable, but I think the way they approach it is much too rigid and negatively impacts the customer experience. I went in yesterday, and I was so excited to try on so many things. The fitting room has a limit of five items so of course I abided by that. I switched out my first five and tried on the second five and during that time my first five items were put back on racks. I had been shopping for hours at that point, and it was difficult for me to remember what I had found and tried on, but it was extremely frustrating. I know that I wanted a couple of those items so the store missed out on some of my money. Anyway, again I understand that you need to balance loss prevention with Customer Service but I think you guys could do a better job with that. If someone wants to steal, they can do that with a 5 item max. I also personally find the signs about theft to be excessive and the pictures of the women who have been caught stealing to be a very tacky vibe. When I am buying beautiful clothing, I don't want to look at blown up photos of people who stole from you posted as wall decor. It's just weird. Edit: Thanks James for the reply! I went to the Kailua location. I was only going to Ulta Beauty but came across them. I want to say it was "pricey" but as someone with relatives that handmake jewelry and dresses for a living, I understand why it's so high. I bought a crocheted coaster, a glass, a bracelet, scrunchies, a pair of earrings and it came out to $105 :( but I had bought them as birthday gifts and my friends loved them! My friend who usually has sensitive ears, says her ears didn't swell up with the earrings. So it was worth the money :) It's a boutique but the clothes were so cute. Think "summer cottagecore", along those lines. One dress was maybe $50. The store has a very ~crystals, healing, energy aligning~ vibes as they do sell crystals and stuff. All in all, great store and friendly staff. Will visit again but this time the Ala Moana location as it's much closer to me :) read more
