Great experience shopping here! We were greeted by a friendly staff associate at the door and told about the new inventory that just came out. Everything was very neat, organized and well stocked. After finding one item another sales associate suggested something similar in style which was very helpful. I appreciate the associates all helping and offering suggestions to find that perfect bag. Name brand goods at discounted prices! My two sisters have Michael Kors purses. They purchased them at Ross, so I know that they got a good deal. The only thing with Ross is that it's hit and miss. When they sell out, that's the end. Here, at the Michael Kors outlet in Waikele (Waipahu, Oahu), there's lots of variety at lower prices! Today, the young lady at the door greeted every customer warmly and handed out a coupon for an additional 20 percent off! How nice! There were wallets, umbrellas, clothing, luggage, shoes, watches, and of course, purses! I was so tempted! Haha! Another salesperson on the floor was also very friendly and helpful! I came to Michael Kors with the intention to purchase a wallet of a specific color. Upon walking it, it appeared that the staff were bringing out new merchandise, changing up the sales floor to accommodate the new merch. I was greeted immediately upon walking in. I was asked by multiple team members if I need any assistance. They even introduced themselves to me and I to them. As I proceeded to the back do the store by the men's department, I was warmly greeted by Manager Trevor. Loved how he took the time to get to know me and what I'm looking for. Enjoyed our conversation and laughter. Trevor, along with the other manager, Ari, helped me pick out pieces from for me and my husband. They fully took care of me. I loved the service I recently received from MK, with one individual in particular. Her name is Mona. It was Black Friday. News cameras were filming the droves of sales-hungry customers standing in line, trying to get peeks through the display windows. I was NEVER a handbag girl. I'd buy a bag from Jeans Warehouse for $20 bucks or my fave clothing store Bebe, whenever I needed a good travel bag. But it was time to have a serious handbag that would last long and fulfill its purpose. The only question was which brand, and for what budget. A couple other ladies were helpful, asking if I'm finding everything okay, or if I needed a shopping bag. Others were scrambling around, understandably so being the busiest shopping day of the year. I was going back and forth on a few styles and wavered on hopping across the mall to check out the competitors. Mona saw my mental struggle... She has been working at MK for years. You can tell because she was confident in product knowledge, but not pushy. Her smile was genuine, her questions meaningful. I always start the conversation with, "Thank you for working today," and a smile. It seems to throw sales reps off, but in a good way. Because we all, at some point in our jobs, need a reminder that we are appreciated. And to no surprise, it breaks the ice of feeling like a minion in the machine. After some small talk, we narrowed the styles down to the Hamilton. Mona not only described the features of the bag, but also offered to grab a brand new, untouched one from the back. A couple minutes later, she came out with a tissue-wrapped new bag for me to examine. I noticed a small, blue mark on the snow-white straps, and without hesitation, Mona apologized and grabbed another one. The leather was immaculate and clean. This was the one. It was never about making the sale, but suiting to my needs as a customer. Despite the 360 mayhem around her, she made me feel like we were the only ones in the store. Top-notch professionalism. I love how they're always on sale in this store but I'm just very disappointed on what happened the other day I went there. After about 30 mins of looking around I finally got the bag that I wanted. I asked Lyn(one of their staff) if I could get a new one because the bag that was on displayed has a scratch on it. She said of course and she'll be back. When I got the new one, I got in line to checkout. Lyn then went to the counter to help me as she was holding the bag that was damaged. After my card went through , while she was wrapping my bag I saw her wrap the damaged bag instead of the new one that I asked for. I debated whether I should give a review of this new located store long and hard. But customers should know how I felt while browsing the merchandise. My bf and I were greeted with a warm welcome by one of the female employees and asked if we needed help. I just wanted to look around and see what kind of sales they had. When we went to back of the store to check the 60% off bags, the same female worker came up to us asking if we need help or have questions. I heart this store, I mean I really HEART this store. Unlike some Yelpers, I've never had a bad experience here with customer service. The staff here has always been friendly and helpful. I always say your experience starts the moment you walk into any establishment and how you are greeted. Every time I've been here, I've always been greeted warmly. I received a gift certificate some time ago and have visited the store on several occasions looking for something that I just couldn't possibly live without. On those occasions I didn't find anything, the staff was still courteous and accommodating. I didn't feel like they were pushing me to buy something. Since I really didn't know what I wanted, I would just browse and the staff would assist me. They didn't stalk me. I've walked out many times without finding anything even after the staff spent some time with me. On my most recent visit. I was looking for a white handbag since my mom swiped mine. I was assisted by Victoria and Trevor. They asked me my likes and dislikes, what type I was looking for etc. They pulled a couple of bags but I wasn't feeling it. There was one that I liked but Victoria asked me if I liked it or loved it. Told her I liked it. Her advice was I get something I love not like. Good point. Her advice was to wait until I found something I loved. Trevor then pulled a vanilla handbag that made my heart flutter. I tried it on and I knew this was the one. It was perfect. The best part - it was on sale! Score! Well actually since it's the outlet, everything is going to be a lot cheaper than the store in Ala Moana. Ala Moana sends their merchandise here so if you see something at Ala Moana, wait till it hits the outlet. Ok, now y'all probably figured out I have a handbag addiction. Guys, girls can never have too many handbags, it's called accessorizing. If you want some brownie points with your significant other, I suggest buying a certificate from here. This store is located in the Waikele Premium Outlets Outdoor Mall upper section with Off Saks Fifth between Armani Exchange and 2b bebe. I've been to this store multiple times mainly buying gifts for others. I love high end fashion, but was never a big fan of Michael Kors. In fact, when I first saw my friend sporting her new leather "MK" handbag flashy hand bag, what first came to my mind was if "Mary Kate" Olsen was now marketing towards to an older crowd other than the little girl clothing they often sold at the Walmart stores. Ha! Anyway, since my clothing and wallet purchases were never for myself, I always walked in with a price range in mind to spend on each person and many times I found a cute item that fell within my price range, and would just get it. Blessing in disguise! My boyfriend tried to buy me a wallet online but they emailed him saying it went out of stock.. I had already seen what I guess he tried to get me (fail) lol. But He surprised me today by going into Waikele thinking we were getting him sunglasses. I was stunned when we walked into the store.. When we walked in, we we're greeted by not just one person. The employees here are really helpful & nice! I like that wherever you are in the store they always are around to answer any questions. We were looking for a wallet to match my first MK bag I was given. Black/Gold but I came across one of their bags in Clearance from their Grayson collection! My boyfriend said I could get it and when I saw bag that was 40% off I was approached by an employee named Jem! She asked if I was already assisted and if I had any questions. The bag that I was already holding from the Clearance section she offered to get me a new one from the back which I really liked since I'd know for sure there wouldn't be any scratches on the bag. updating my review because I came back to this same location expecting the same service I got the last few times I stopped in here.. First off I want to start off by telling my story about my 2 watches that I had gotten for Christmas this year, I received 2 Michael Kors watches from family members. I wore them both about 3-4 times before they started to fall apart. watch #1- Had rhinestones all around the face and on the links, and the inside of the face is marked with roman numerals along with the logo. This watch broke when I noticed that the #6 roman numeral came lose and was floating around in the face of the watch which caused the hands of the watch to eventually stop ticking!!!! Watch #2- This watch is similar to the first, but this one has black rhinestones around the face and inside the face. The problem with this one is that the glass plate on the face of the watch keeps popping off of the watch, exposing the inside of the watch. I still had the glass pieced to prove that i didn't shatter it because I know if I had brought the watch without the glass they would have told me that I probably shattered the glass piece by hitting it or something. DELEMA- My problem with this store is that when i brought my watches in to get checked out and see what I could do they basically told me theirs nothing they can do to fix my watches because I didn't have the original receipts and I had explained to them that they both were gifts and I was not given a receipt because my family knows I would love the watches and not need to return them... so I asked what my other options were and she basically told me to bring it to Macys and maybe they could fix it for me which is total BULLSHIT because then I have to pay someone else to fix a crappy made watch that their store sold me in the first place! MORAL OF THE STORY- DO NOT BUY MK watches. they are cheaply made and they are not built to last! The only MK watches I will ever buy will be from Macy's where they guarantee that if your watch does not work because of manufacture defects they will replace it or fix it free of charge! I've visited this place numerous times, and each time the service seems to get worse and worse. This store was never known for their outstanding customer service, but today was horrible. I walked into the store, and the woman at the front; who's job I assume it was to welcome customers, looked at us and looked away. She did not greet me, or smile at all. I was already turned off at that point, but continued to browse. My entire time there, no one stopped to ask me how I was doing or if I needed any assistance. So this poncho that I wanted apparently cannot be found ANYWHERE else. I checked, EVERYWHERE. I went back today with the mindset that I was shopping at like a grocery store with self check out. I didn't receive good service, I experienced EXCEPTIONAL service today. Greeted at the door, was checking out the ponchos when I was approached by a very nice young woman (I should've gotten her name, fail on my part) who assisted me with my disagreement with my husband regarding what color I should get. He says I always look like I'm going to a funeral. I digress. This wonderfully attentive associate was polite during our brief banter and actually walked me to the counter to make sure I was assisted right away. There was no line and I was assisted immediately. (But let's recall my last review & my gripe was because no one else was in line and I stood there for a couple minutes with an available associate and no acknowledgement). Did I tell the associate about my last experience? Absolutely not. I wasn't going to waste my breath or this woman's time. Terrible customer service! My boyfriend and I walked in today (11/16/13) and four girls upfront just stared us down without a greet. They were eyeing out my Louis Vuitton bag, yes hunny girls it is real. I don't do fake and replicas. Anywho we were browsing around trying to find the perfect bag for my mom. (Not that she or I need anymore handbags but more is always nice) ;) Two sales girls suddenly asked if we were doing okay only because they ran into us while trying to help someone else. Everyone was helping Japanese tourists and other people who seemed to be much more dressed up than we were. Well we weren't going anywhere fancy so no need to dress up, we were casual dressed but weren't dirty looking. Others were helped a lot given great service but only about 2 out of 6 actually purchased. Stumbled upon a beautiful purple Hamilton bag. It's like you know it's the one when all other bags suddenly become "ugly" or "not up to par". The one on the shelf had lots of scuff marks and stuff so we wanted to see if they had a brand new one in the back as they usually would. A lot of girls were standing around and saw that we needed help but just looked and ignored us. We were right next to the cash register and there was 4-5 girls behind there wrapping and standing around, they too looked and made eye contact but never asked if we needed assistance. Finally, after looking around for someone decent to flag down that doesn't seem so stuck up and snobby, Vanessa approached us with a friendly smile and came to help right away. She was patient and really nice making small conversations with us. We got in line to be rung up. The cashier, Janine was okay. Her tone of voice wasn't quite friendly and we felt kind of rushed. I asked if they had a box but she replied "no we don't but we have nice bags for it" sarcastically. The transaction was done and she said she would wrap it nicely for us. Well two seconds later she handed it to us and the bag we bought barely fit the shopping bag and she threw on one piece of tissue paper on it. Funny how everyone else that purchased got theirs wrapped so nice and tightly with extra tissue for a gift while we got crap. We left and all the girls in front that never greeted us thanked us for shopping there. So fake! I just spent enough in there that probably covered for almost 2 girls pay checks. Nonetheless we come in probably once a year when we're at Waikele because we love Michael Kors! We did notice a hiring sign. That's good maybe they can hire actual real nice employees with great attitudes and wonderful smiles that will get them more loyal customers than they have now. After reading some of the reviews below, I don't feel too bad about this review. I walked into Micheal Kors in Waikele about a week and a half ago and was greatly discouraged by the overall customer service. I noted at least 7-8 female sales staff, all who looked ready for the fashion runway, but obviously not equipped with the customer service knowledge and personality necessary in a sales environment. I walked in, and basically the workers were standing around talking to one another and NOT one acknowledge my or others' presence. Very disappointed, I walked around the entire store and was not greeted or asked if I needed any help. I walked out making a mental note not to go back there. I looked around for help to get a new one in the back of available and when I finally found a male sales person who was putting up purses, he was so sassy and told me there wasn't any more in the back and gave me a snob look and walked away. ACCORDING TO MICHAEL KORS RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY, IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED THEY CAN GLADLY RETURN OR EXCHANGE THE ITEM EVEN WITHOUT RECEIPT! But this store is full of BS and they don't know how to treat their customer right! If i can give no star I would! Came in to do an exchange and during my entire store visit I never had an associate come up to me asking for help. SHOCKING ISNT IT? But I was browsing around looking for a smaller hand bag due to my mom being picky. Then finally I found one. I had seen several employees paying more attention to tourist than to me. Idk if it was the way I dressed but BISH please I had a Kate spade bag and money flying in never did need your help. Found a bag and did an exchange the cashier didn't look happy or wasn't even smiling. So by that I was already over it. I just put all that b.s behind and smiled and was patiently waiting to get my damn bag. Finally I get a new bag and was leaving to store one associate was eyeing me out as i walk out the door thinking imma steal something and put it in my big bag. The only reason why I'm giving this store a 5 star is because JASMINE is such a great person. Even though I'm local she still helped me with every question I had, not like everyone else in that store where they just walked past and didn't acknowledge me at all. read more
