Stopped in here as nephew wanted to look at t-shirts. The music played in the store was loud, vulgar and full of obscenities. I was shocked. I felt terrible for having let my nephew into that environment. I'm surprised playing music like that in a public space, like a mall, is allowed. Fun and cool place... Zumiez is the place that I've shopped for my godson as this was his vibe for as long as I've known and can see why as it's filled with so much fun and creatively unique items from heat to toes. Located on level 3 in Ala Moana Center walking in there is so much going on and am quite impressed how the staff keeps it all so neat and organized yet keeps that fun vibes and as I search for the particular item the staff is very helpful as this clueless aunty gets lost and feeling quite old lol! Stickers filled the ceiling of the cash wrap area and backpacks with Rugrats isn't quite his thing but do usually find shirts and hats sometimes in the clearance area that makes shopping for the value for youth easier in this place filled with items they love. Braden absolutely hooked me up found me pants and shirts and I got absolutely dripped out immediately after I walked out of the store I got swarmed by women Braden wing manned me I now have 12 girlfriends Braden also helped me to find a couple more pants and shirts. Additionally after I fell in the store because me and my friend were messing around Braden helped me up and even popped my shoulder back into place thank you Braden can't thank you enough. read more

I cannot stress this enough. I love Braden so much I was about to fall off the railing and Braden jumped off landed in the water and use the force to push me back up so I was safe and then my wife started having contractions and Braden delivered my baby right there in the store and so I'm naming my child after Braden 10 out of 10 service. I highly recommend Braden especially. Braden also helped me find pants that fit perfectly and recommended other clothing items that were perfect. Someone give Braden a raise! read more

Purchased an item online and had it shipped to the store (free 99). This was probably my second or third time doing this (once, they ordered me a speciality item that could only be ordered through the store, the other time it was just a pair of sale joggers). Would have preferred to purchase in store, but it wasn't available (mahalo to the associate who checked the system and the other stores on the island). Came in two days after ordering and got a nice phone call that it was in. The next day, easy walk in and walk out. No hassle, no fuss, and good customer service. Overall, nice clothes and good deals + hassle free returns. Can't beat it. If you're going to visit the Ala Moana location, I'd suggest parking in the structure where Sears used to be (near Foodland Farms). Fourth floor and up usually has lots of parking and it's a five minute walk to the store. read more

Review of "store manager" Jerry (one of the store managers) was very rude to his employee when he's in a tank and rubber slippers. I simply asked someone who looked like they "actually" worked here! Not no Rubber slippers, tank top, wth. And he scolded her right in front of me to stay in her zone while she's trying to help me. Yes I asked if who he was and told him how rude to tell her to go in her zone when she's still helping me. Well I just left though there was something I needed. This is heaven for me:) whenever I come here and shop I always get the help I need and the people here are really helpful when your trying to look for something you need. There is a guy that works there I also known him from gyu kaku in Waikiki that was his other job. He was a really helpful guy and gave me a lot of pro and cons on the items! He helped me look for clothes for my brother's graduation gift and my friends Christmas presents. Just coming here to zumiez makes me smile:D they have sales every day like buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off I'm a huge fan of crooks and castle, obey and diamond so that's the only brand I shop for and I love janoski too! At first I was excited about having a Zumiez in Ala Moana.. I walked in and I saw the Diamond Supply table.. Awesome display and a good selection. But then, I was disappointed on the size of the store. Pearlridge and Waikele locations are much larger. It felt a little cramped, not much room, clothing racks really tight together and lots of people probably because it is July 4th and everyone is at the mall for fireworks but still .. Kind of stuffy. I was not greeted at first when walking in even though there were 2 employees in the front. I walked in probably about 3/4 in to the store past the register area and then someone said hi. I usually browse at the skateboard selection just to see what they have in stock just in case a professional skateboarder comes down for a signing but today I was unable to see their selection.. Their board specialist was building a board and all his tools were spread out on the counter and blocking the board rack .. I guess I'll look later??? Idk.. I lastly checked out their register area. Sometimes there is cool stickers or wallets or little gadgets.. Not too much selection.. I guess they are still putting things out or waiting for inventory to come in.. I'll visit this store a little later to see if at my next visit things are different and more enjoyable.. read more

Darcie was such a big help with my shoes but then when we asked her for some suggestions on what to do on the island of Oahu she took the time to make us a list of places to go to and eat. Sooooo above and beyond impressed with her customer service and the time she took to make sure we had a great trip. I'm sad I have to leave on Tuesday now because I wanna be her friend! I'm having mixed feelings about this place. I had gone into this store to look for a xmas gift for our nephew. The staff were very friendly! They greeted us as we walked into the store and informed us of any specials they were running and let us know that they're there to help us if needed. I was so excited that we had found something for our nephew because he's going to be in high school next year and is going through this fashionista moment where he needs to look "cool" and "all that", which can be difficult to shop for! Long story short, we ended having to return the item we bought because he growing so fast and wouldn't be able to fit it. We went back and ended buying something else because they didn't have what we wanted in a bigger size. We get to the cashier and she asked "So you're going to return this item (pointing to the NEW item we wanted) and exchanging for this one (pointing to the OLD item we wanted to return)?" I said "no we want to do the opposite which is get the NEW item and exchange it for the OLD one." After replying "ok", I figure we were on the same page. But NOOOOOOO! When all the transaction was done, she first, forgot to give me the items I had newly purchased. I had asked her "umm I didn't get my bag." She apologized and handed me the bag. I went home happy because we had finally found something that we think he'd really like because he's such a hard person to shop for. A couple days later, I decided to go into the zumiez bag so I could wrap my nephews gift. I was so disappointed because I had pulled out what was supposed to be the returned in the first place! So we weren't on the same page! She had handed me my original item that I thought was exchanged for! Second of all, now I have to go back to the store and have to deal with explaining myself about what had happened! (Not to mention explaining this concept to workers who are in their late teens and early 20's!) And third, now they don't even have the items that I wanted because they only order a limited amount of sizes and styles! I can say that this was a learning experience for myself. I think it goes both ways, the cashier was wrong because she didn't check the bag before handing it to me. I am wrong because I should of known better, she looked like she just graduated from high school! Not to self: when dealing with younger generations always double check, even triple check! read more

Sooooo today...I went to go get my watch adjusted that I bought a long time ago. When I bought it the sales associate told me I could just come in whenever and get it adjusted, but no one told me that I needed proof that I bought it from this exact location. HOWEVER, their store manager, Nick, was kind enough to adjust my watch even though I didn't have anything. Trust, my friends, chivalry is not dead! Super cool dude. Thanks a lot nick! read more

Brah. 0 stars for this place only because of one employee. ive been to this location numerous times on shopping adventures and have never felt so unwelcome. Also havent ever felt so belittled in a store. The Dude was super incredibley rude to me over an exchange, and even after giving me ridiculous detail as to why the exchange couldnt be made writes on the item case in sharpie, cause for some reason writing in big letter "unxchangable" was totally necessary. I didnt get the dudes name but hes tallish, look like hes got a fat-skinny kid type of build, red beard, tattoos, a nose piercing and thats about all i can remember. All in all, dudes a diq. And nobody really needs to deal with that. read more

Best customer service ever. Went in today to return a gift I had bought my boyfriend. I was being very difficult because I returned the shoes for a gift card (which requires the employees to transfer my previous purchase amount onto a card), just to come in an hour later and have them help me with sizes for 3 different pairs of shoes!! They were all extremely friendly and helpful. Loving and wonderful attitude all throughout that store. Great products too!! read more

Terrible, Pathetic & NON EXISTANT SERVICE from this shopping experience. No greeting once we walked into the store. Care factor zero. Staff too busy trying to look busy. Took forever to get any service and then once we did get any service took another 15-20 mins to get the purchase we wanted. All staff that day was trying to be deputy sherifs and heroes over an intoxicated idiot who had tried to leave the store having put apparently two items into their bag without receipt or proof of purchase. Long story short- ended up buying one pair of adidas shoes with the imbecile staff members putting in a pair of two left shoes and to rub salt into the wounds even more they were two incorrect shoe sizes as well. Absolute terrible, crap and pathetic service from the whole store in general. Want a refund back asap plus compensation for the idiotic service and time wasting of trying to get back there for my refund-which equals time, money and frustration. Please wake up Zumiez Staff and stop trying to be super sleuths and focus more on customer service - pay more attention to your morals and work ethics. To think we travelled to the world's biggest and best open air shopping mall - would have got better service at the local ABC store. read more

So im usually a Hollister or ae type of clothes girl and never really wore the clothes they have at zumiez, even though i go in alot. The reason why im rating this a 5 star and not a 3 is because of the amazing customer service I got from an employee. He was greeting people in the front of the store with such energy. I think his name was ty. He dedicated his time to help me find some really cool shirts that were on sale for buy one get one half off . If im not mistaken either, he was passing out free stickers to little kids that came in with their families. Fitting rooms were clean and the music playing was pretty chill. Overall i was happy with my experience and would come back again just to get that awesome service from the energetic ty! He told me he only works Sunday mornings which is a bummer, but if you guys are ever in, look for the tall, tanned cute local Asian guy. That's him ;p read more

Wasn't bad, great place and great people. Only one of the workers there that day was very rude. I walked in and the music was just screaming-screamo whatever kind of music. I couldn't even understand what the worker was saying over the screaming music they were playing. My son wanted to get out so fast because of it. But I had to do a return. I went to the register and let the man know. He gave me this weird look and almost refused. My son changed his mind on the shoes we got him so it's understandable that kids changed there mind. But I didn't see what the problem was. As he was taking my information he was very stand off like. As if me doing a return ruined his day. Everyone else in there was amazing but this one man was just rude. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the rest of the workers were great. The man has tattoos and when I asked for his name that's when we started to be all nice. Too late man. His name is Brian Keef(that's what he told me when I asked).
