Took one for the team...the fam back home in CA and NV, and stood in line for an hour at STUSSY HONOLULU. It actually wasn't too bad since we started at 10:30am and ended up getting what we wanted - the iconic Stussy Honolulu tee shirt! Many people get there at 5am and wait 5 hours!! We saw the line at 8am on a Friday when it rained and it wrapped around towards the Royal Hawaiian Hotel! That was a hard no! So, the following day, we decided to see what the line looked like at 10:30am. There were staff coordinating the line between an empty store next door to Tory Burch (across from Stussy) and handed out ~20 cards for each group. This helped with the line not blocking all other shoppers trying to get into other stores. When we finally got inside, the friendly staff were there to assist us with the Honolulu tee shirts because they weren't on display. Each person can purchase up to four shirts, so my +1 and I ended up with eight. :-) The store is pretty spacious and showcases jackets, shirts, and accessories for this ever so popular streetwear brand. My daughter and i waited 3 hours to get into the Stussy store. the day before Halloween. Who knew this little brand got so famous! I remember back in the day, I mean way back, it was just a little store front in the OC. lol The wait wasn't so bad, but it could be better if the people also waiting in line were a little more friendly. I mean we were ALL there for the same thing! Why not make conversation and have fun? Kinda tells me that the brand doesn't have friendly people following...at least not here in Waikiki. Ok I know this place is pretty controversial with the lines and the wait. I've lined up for this place on more than one occasion too and struck out. I've heard some people line up very early too (6AM!?). It might not be worth it, especially if you're on vacation in Oahu. Not to mention things adding up if you're paying for parking. Now the store itself is pretty nice if/when you get in. If you're a big Stussy fan, they have a good selection of non chapter store items. Not sure how it happened, but me and my wife lined up right out front of the store at around 6PM on a Sunday, got in and had a selection of hoodies/sweatshirts in all sizes. (no t-shirts unfortunately). Grabbed a grey pull over hoodie and a navy zip hoodie in a Large. Staff was super nice even with everyone asking them the same questions about the chapter stuff. A popular street wear store even amongst Japanese and Korean travelers. People want specifically the Stussy shirts or sweaters that feature the town on it so in this case Honolulu. Their shirts run out really early in the morning because that's what people want and they limit how many they sell during the day. I was visiting in December during the Honolulu marathon which there are many more travelers and visitors out there. When I first walked by before closing at 10pm there weren't any lines because all of their Honolulu shirts were gone. The workers told me people line up as early as 4am or by 6am. The store doesn't open up until 10am. There's a sign where you line up around the corner that wraps around the Royal Hawaiian mall so you won't be blocking paths. One morning I got there before 9am and I asked the people in front and they lined up at 4am or 6am. I went back around 930am and waited until 11am and never got to the front and gave up. My friends the next day went in a group and lined up a little after 7 and they were able to help get us the sweaters we wanted (limit of 4 items per person). I had another friend go the day of the Honolulu marathon when it was pouring and around 11am there were no lines and shirts available. I get it. They have Hawaii-exclusive clothing that attracts a lot of people, especially the tourists, but that line is insane. If you are willing to wait 2 hours or more to get your hands on the goods, which are limited to 3 per person for those 'Honolulu' clothing, then go for it.   Not going to lie, I only did it so I could get some for friends. Thankfully, my hotel was literally a block or not even a block away, so that alone made it much easier for me to wait in line.   The first time I tried was on a Monday, and I left my hotel around 8:20 AM, and the store opens at 10 AM. There were already about 20 people or more waiting. Even after they opened at 10 AM, I had to wait another hour and a half for my turn to get in the store to purchase.   Unfortunately, I had to go back the next day because I did not know the limit per person. If you're looking to buy the limited edition t-shirt (the one that says Stussy Honolulu on the back and the Stussy logo on the right chest), you need to ask one of the staff members for it. They intentionally don't display it knowing it's high in demand and sells out. They have this shirt available in black, white, and blue for $45. I came in around noon just to buy this specific t-shirt. No line outside, but was a bit crowded inside the shop. Everyone essentially was holding/buying this limited edition t-shirt. There's several staff members whom are super attentive and ready to assist. If you're paying with credit card, make sure to have your ID that has a matching name to the credit card as they're trying to cut down on fraudulent credit card use. read more

My first time physically going here. My daughter already has a stussy Honolulu shirt, so I wasn't too keen on going early and waiting in line. Spontaneously we went on a Thursday. Arrived around 1230p. There was still a line. We waited maybe an hr. The guy had previously clarified that all the tees were gone but they had long sleeve stuff crew necks, pullovers, hoodies etc. so we still decided to wait. You'd think every time someone left, they'd let that amount of people in but the didn't. First of all, RIP Stussy Kailua. Used to visit that store to avoid the tourists, but it closed in May 2024, so it's off to Waikīkī for some merch. First of all, if you want to avoid the salt (see the other reviews), it's best to just come early. You're either going to wait before they open or after, and really, if you're not in line by the elevator by the time they open, you might as well come back. I'd say try to get in line by 8 at the latest. However, sometimes there's no line at all. Blame summer. Also, blame folks who are just into the hype so they drag their parents into the line, talking about how much the merch resells for. Merch restocks every day, but you won't know what merch and what size until you're in there. Shirts are about 50 and hoodies will run about 145 after tax. Service is good. Folx are friendly. Know what you want before you visit. I was in and out in five minutes after waiting. Update: went back a few days later, stopped in at 6 PM, and scooped up a tee with only a twenty minute wait. If you are there because you want the Honolulu exclusive shirt not only will you have to wait in line but you'll need to get up early AF to ensure you get the size/style and color you need. We had gone in on a Sunday because my brother requested the island shirt and we had NO IDEA it was going to be bonkers. As Gen X kids we wore Stüssy all the time so I assumed it would be an easy task to scoop him up a shirt and call it a day. Welp...I was wrong! Anyways one of the employees told me that the shirt restocked each morning and suggested I get in line early like 5am early. My husband looked at me and said "Good Luck yo!" Needless to say I got my butt up early 4am to be exact and got in line with the rest of the wacky fans. I was 5th in line and was part of the 1st group that was let in that day and secured the goods. The t-shirt was 45 bucks which is fairly normal these days and sweatshirts were between 100-130. I can't remember off hand. Just know you are only allowed to purchase 3 pieces per person so if you have a big family make them wait with you or at least bring you a bagel from Dean & DeLuca. Staff was cool. I'm not usually one to buy streetwear or wait in super long lines to do so, but I just had to cop the Stussy Honolulu shirt. It's a cool piece of clothing and it helps that it doubles as a souvenir from Hawaii. The line, as expected, was super long. Stuff gets restocked everyday, but you never really know what you're going to get. My advice would be to get there before they open. My brother and I got in line at 9:30 AN, (half an hour before they opened), and the line was already wrapped around the store. When we passed by at 8:30 AM, the line wasn't as long. I'd say if you make it there by 8:30, you'll probably get a good spot. However, if you want to play it EXTREMELY safe, you can be like some people and get there at 5:30 AM. We were able to snag a coupe of the Stussy Honolulu shirts, and I picked up a slick camo SnapBack as well. The prices for the shirts aren't as bad as I was expecting, coming in at $45 per shirt. I've been to the Stussy Honolulu store several times, and it's always been a great experience. I've heard of people having to wait in line for hours and not being able to find what they're looking for, but that's never been my experience. I just stopped by yesterday evening and there was no line! It was a Friday night, so even though it was pretty busy (at least 20 people inside), the staff was quick, helpful, and willing to bring out different styles, colors, and sizes to try on. The selection is great, with a mix of classic Stussy pieces and some exclusive Honolulu styles. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's definitely a must-visit! read more

Still at a loss for words at how long you have to wait to get in here! The store itself opens at 10am but I've heard it people waiting in line at 8:30am (apparently the hype is real lol). Ok here's the deal- if you're not willing to get in line super early and wait patiently, don't expect to guarantee snag the Honolulu merch that everyone wants. There is a line every single morning, might as well be one of the first and get it over with the right way. Want an efficient plan? My advice is get in line at 7am, and you will most likely be one of the first ten customers in line. They open at 10am, so you will have a few hours to kill. Bring a little chair or a mat and a book to pass the time. I got there at 7:10am, was 11th in line, brought my computer and a chair and got a ton of work done in three hours while I was waiting. I was in the store shopping at 10:05am, got the three pieces I wanted, and was back in my car at 10:20am. They also validate and have a super convenient parking lot in the Royal Hawaiian. The alternative (which most people seem to do) is you stand in line later (even 8am I think is too late), have to wait much longer to get into the store to shop, and may miss out on snagging your Honolulu pieces all together. Just go at 7am if you want the merch and most seamless process. If you're on vacation, wouldn't you rather get up at 6am and waste a few hours super early rather than stand in line until 12 noon, just to be told "Im sorry we don't have your size anymore"? I live here but I was thinking about that as I left the store and saw all the visitors lining up, at least 100 people deep at that point. Another tip to make sure you don't stand in line for nothing is to CALL the day before. I heard that on some occasions don't get the HNL product restocked every morning, for instance if they run out in their warehouse. If you call the day before they will let you know exactly what they are getting in the next morning. Service wise, they exceeded my expectations for sure. This store will actually answer their phone (I called them three times the day before with some questions) and once I got into the store, the guy who helped me was incredibly kind and helpful. It's a calm shopping experience once you're in since they limit the amount of people inside. Also the hoodies and zip ups are definitely more expensive than I expected them to be- but it is what it is. I believe my zip up was $140 and pullover was $130. I've been to O'ahu multiple times, but I've never visited the Stüssy store before. I went to go check out what they had, and the first things I noticed was the clean and modern aesthetic. I think it's cool how they don't put all of their stock out, just their designs to give a minimalist feel to the store. I later came back that day to ask about their stock, specifically about the exclusive chapter store merch. I learned that they sell out around 11-12 o'clock and that I could guarantee getting the exclusive merch. The exclusive merch is the same price as the regular version of their items. I came back a few times before actually waiting about 4 hours. They said they were out of the older designs, and the next day, I lined up at about 6:00, and I was about 25th in line, which guaranteed that I'd be able to get some merch. When I got into the store, I instantly asked for the chapter store merch, and the staff members were friendly and quick getting the things I asked for, unlike some reviews that said otherwise. I thought that $45 is kinda pricy for a just decent quality tee shirt, but I thought it was ok, because the design is really cool. In addition, kudos to this employee who remembered what I asked for a day prior and told me it was in stock, and gave it to me. A lot of people seem confused on how to get the exclusive merch, so here's some I learned from my trips there. 1. Get there around 6, and the line is at the back of the store, near the Sheraton. If you don't know where that is, look at the directory in front of the store. 2. Ask beforehand to check if they are getting the merch that you want (Go visit the store the night before, call them, etc...) 3. Don't go with too many people because after you're done with the first line, the 15 people in the front of the line get transferred to another line in front of the store (Your whole party might not get in together) 4. The limit for Honolulu chapter store merch is 3 per person, and I recommend waiting with multiple people so you can get more merch 5.
