Loved visiting this boutique! The location on Punahou St. can be hard to miss due to the busy roads and traffic, so be sure to keep an eye out on the white building with simple "Manuheali'i" signage. The boutique itself has all your Hawaiian dress attire needs. From different styles of dresses, shirts, blouses, skirts, jumpers, light cardigans and sweaters (and bags!), the selection is great and feels so good to wear! The selection is curated by various Hawaiian designs/prints which changes every season. The quality of products/material is 100% worth the price. In addition, don't be afraid to support local businesses whether you're visiting the island or local. Located in town, a small little parking lot out front. Manuheali'i is your one stop shop for your ohana's Hawaiian attire. Lots of selection to choose from. I wish they had more sizes of the print I was looking for, but it was an older style print. The price range for clothing is about $80-$100+. Manuheali'i is made well and last long. On a busy Sunday, there were about 4 girls working. We didn't quite get a greeting as we walked in, but i made sure we said hello as we walked in (which they just looked at us). But when we needed to see if the other location had a certain dress, one of the girls were more than willing to call them to check. read more

Makena is one of the rudest salespeople I've met! Upon entering the store I struggled with the door because of my cast on my broken leg. I asked her for help and she just looked at me as if I were speaking a foreign language! Thank goodness for a gentleman customer that came to help me. I was looking for a gift and I found somethings and brought them to the cashier. I explained that the two items were for two different people and I would like them gift wrapped separately. Makena marked off the prices on the items, so I assumed that the items were to be gift wrapped. Upon receiving the items , supposedly gift wrapped as a presents. They were taped in tissue paper, no bow no store seal. I asked the cashier is this your gift wrap? I said do you not have the Manuheali'i string used as bows or store seals? I've had other things wrap there as presents before and they were much better looking and had both seals and cloth material used as bows. They said you have to tell us to gift wrap, I explained that I had done this, explaining that I saw Makena mark off the price so I assume the items were being prepared for being gift wrapped! Makena grabbed the items and threw them on the table behind the cash register, throwing it up in the air, grabbing the tissue it was wrapped in, ripping open the existing paper and threw the clothing on the table and said that I should've asked to have a gift wrapped. I proceeded to tell them again that I did ask them to have them gift wrapped. As I do enjoy wearing Manuheali'i, if I have to endure this type of shopping experience I am not sure the clothing is worth this embarrassment. read more

I love to support local but when businesses are dumb I would rather not support them. Had a terrible experience at the store. No greeting at all when I walked into the store. When I asked a sales person how something is supposed to fit, she goes it's supposed to be loose. Everyone at this store had something up their ass today. When I tried to pick my order early because I purchased it online and it didn't fit, it took them 30 mins to figure out how to return it. Barely an apology. I was about to walk and tell them no thanks just keep my money. The so called manager couldn't even figure it out and blamed me for buying it off Facebook. Seriously...I bought it from their online store, how would I know it was Facebook? Do u even know where ur online store is from? It was from shop pay. I was trying to get matching family outfits and I live here on the mainland. The ladies here went above and beyond to curate a set for my family of 5. They even contact the Kailua location for me to see what styles and sizes they have in stock. I was on the phone with them and texting them. They sent me photos of the items side by side to see how they looked together. The pieces themselves are beautiful. They are higher priced but compared to other brand name local wear, the prices are comparable. Definitely not something I would buy often, but it's nice to treat ourselves to a Manuheali'i piece once in a while. They are always dropping new collections and usually once a print is gone, it's usually gone, unless the owners decide to make more of it later. But that's the beauty of the brand. read more

they canceled my entire order from their Awapuhi Collection 07/13/23 that I ordered online when they released it. To receive an email the next day at 2pm stating my ENTIRE order has been canceled because they could not fulfill my order due to not enough stock is asinine! Then for me to have to call and ask why my order has been canceled and all they could say is "I'm sorry" thinking that's supposed to make it better. Not a justifiable response but a "generic email" then speaking to the manager and having a third person talking in the background saying they didn't do phone orders is a lie! Worst experience ever! Totally unorganized especially knowing how popular they are! The least they could've done was fulfill a few items on my order! No remorse! Horrible horrible horrible! Emailed attached below: Aloha, Im highly upset for the fact to receive a "generic email" as one of your store workers states on the phone today stating that my order #92722 & #92969 was canceled because your company could not fulfill my orders is beyond asinine! For your store workers to think that telling a customer who placed this order yesterday before 11am and say it was a glitch issue is no excuse. What you guys should've have done and start doing is really put into your minds when releasing new collection; making separate inventories for in person, online and phone orders for stuff like this to never happen again. For your store workers to think that it's no big deal when it is a big deal especially when you are over selling and now needing to retract your mistakes is gonna cause a lot of upset customers. Once upon a time this brand was very good the quality of their clothing and customer service were excellent. Not anymore. If you have owned clothing from them and compared the vintage the quality of the material was a lot better, seems they've gone for a cheaper material a cheaper look and feel which doesn't equate to the price tag. The worst part is their customer service. The employees are very rude and have Zero aloha. Other popular local brands out there have better customer service and quality clothing. I know many people have mentioned disliking the workers here, that they don't show any aloha spirit. However, my experience here was quite positive for my first visit yesterday (7/14/2021). I came here on recommendation of my boss, as one of the items she wore one day to work was super Cute; so I had asked her where she got it from. The store is very clean and organized. The workers, from what I saw try to keep that standard. Upon entering they ask you to sanitize before shopping to keep everyone safe. There were several people in the store and even phone calls, but it seemed that the three workers there did touch bases with all customers in the store. I actually give them props for being able to bounce back and forth between that many people to help them! I used to work in retail, and it isn't always so easy! They all in some way interacted and helped my bf and I find what we needed, suggesting other alternatives when they didn't have something we wanted in a certain print. They even suggested and offered to call the other store to check if they had what I was looking for in stock. I was even able to put my name down in a call list for specific styles that they are anticipating to receive in the near future! I left with a little more than I was planning to leave with but at happy with my purchases. (As you can tell from my pictures, We really like the kukui nut print.) I will be back! I drove all the way from the west side and rushed from work. following the hours shown on here arrived at 5:11 pm on 7/13 and got turned away because supposedly they close at 5pm M-F. We brought up the hours on yelp, and the girls working said oh sorry we just updated our hours here but not on yelp. That's awful customer service in my opinion and to turn us away 11 minutes after 5 . This used to be my favorite go to for aloha wear. Just found a gift certificate from 12/19 for $100 that says expires 2 years from date of purchase. I called and they said they can't accept it. Needless to say I guess I won't be patronizing them anymore. I have tons and tons of Manuheali'i blouses, dresses and have bought many drink ware and a comforter or 2 and some cushion covers for relatives who live on the mainland. I had been a loyal customer for years up until the pandemic, which happened after this gift certificate was issued. My advice....don't buy gift certificates from them. Bought a button down and pullover in M. The button down was too small, but the pullover fit perfectly. There was no information on the website that they would fit differently, so I had no idea it wouldn't fit. When I contacted them, they said, "Yeah, sorry, pullovers and button downs fit differently. Sorry for not letting you know. Send it back and we'll exchange it." I sent it back and they refused to exchange the tiny shirt because I hadn't included the tags. Again, they didn't say to include the tags and there was no information stating tags were required for an exchange. Terrible. Won't buy from them ever again. read more

Stopped by on Friday morning. They had a steady flow of customers coming in. There were about 4 wahines working. Not one of them checked on me the entire 20 minutes that I was there. Inventory was good with a nice variety of clothing designs. I feel like the quality of fabrics is not the same. Despite all of that I did purchase 2 shirts and paid $197 sheesh! Like I say in most of my reviews, I always want to support local. They need to better their customer service if they want my continued support though. I am picky when it comes to hawaiian / island print. I'll be honest, I am not a big fan of wearing hawaiian / island print, however, if I had to choose---I will definitely be wearing a Manuheali'i. Their design is unique and contemporary. Their designs throughout the years has improved as well as their accessories. For my first Manuheali'i, I bought my top from the Kailua location. However, yesterday I brought my friend to the Punahou location because she had to exchange an item. First thing my eyes fell upon were there Moani tops (bought a black and grey top). I found my size and bought it. As I browsed around while she was trying on a dress, my daughter was looking at their organic shirts while I found their skirts. I made a mental note that I will be returning this week to buy a skirt or another top. If you read the reviews, this line is great for anything from couple to family for any occassion. I definitely agree to check out their display of photos especially the group wedding photos because it is really beautiful as well as inspiring you to buy a matching set for your entire family or making a note that for the next special occasion, you'll remember to keep Manuheali'i in mind. read more

Ever wonder where those really cute and funky Aloha shirts dresses, tops and skirts are sold? I've seen this shop twice a month for the past two years as I drive to Sofie's groomer, Itchy Pooch, around the block but I've never stopped. Last week I wanted to get Birthday boy a light weight Aloha shirt and this place popped into my pointed little head. So, over the river and through the woods to Punahou Street I go....to the very end and into a nice private parking lot. I've always liked the look of this store front, kinda East Coast upscale beachy, inviting. In the Carmel area there would be small tables to sip a glass of wine, eating cheese. Oh, I digress! So into the business I go to be greeted with smiles and pleasantries by people who seemed genuinely happy I was there. Wow! When was the last time you were in a store where the associates actually made you feel valued? I made my selection, paid for it on the fastest chip card processor in 808 then asked in the most skeptical voice "do you by any far stretch of the imagination gift wrap"? One of my favorite stores to get an aloha shirt from. I remember when they only had one location in Kailua back in the 90's. This town store near Punahou really helps. The ladies who work there are very friendly and really know their merchandise. They also have samples of upcoming styles several weeks before the new styles are released. If you see something you like, you can put down your name and they will call you the day before it's released. Then, you can call in the morning and put whatever you want on hold. My favorite material is the microfiber since it rarely shrinks or gets wrinkled. However, they don't often use the fabric. I also get the silk shirts. It feels nice and is very comfortable. The pull over shirts typically run 1 size big while the button down shirts run true to size. The designs are very modern and usually each design will come in 5-6 different colors. In addition to aloha shirts there is also keiki wear and many different styles for women. The selection is vast and really nice. I'd recommend all those who haven't been to come in soon and check in out. Pricing is rather cheap versus brands like Reyn's, Tommy Bahama, and Sig Zane. read more

Thanks to Merrie Monarch, I've been exposed to all these cute and amazing aloha attire from all these local designers. I've heard of this place through my coworker couple months ago, but I didn't become obsessed with it until I saw Mileka Lincoln (Hawaii News Now reporter) sporting all her Manuheali'i wear at the Merrie Monarch. Mileka was wearing these amazing pants and I had to find out where she got it from. Thanks to Instagram and tagging, I found Manuheali'i's IG page. Their hours are very limited as they're closed on Sundays and only opened til' 6pm on the weekdays and til' 4pm on Saturdays. They're located on Punahou Street, right across from Washington Middle School, and just a few buildings down from Jack-in-the-Box. The parking lot is really small, but I easily found a stall when I came right after work on a Thursday evening. Their bouquet shop is tiny, but stocked with lots of amazing prints and styles. There's one rack for men's shirts, one shelf for kid's and the rest are for the women. Their store was very neat and organized. Each of their collections for the women were located at each side of the store, which made it easy to shop. The workers here were friendly and held all my clothes in the dressing room until I was ready to try them on. I tried on pretty much everything, but luckily the girl who took the "no" clothes from me didn't seemed bothered at all haha. If they weren't too expensive, I think I would have bought more clothes. The pants I was on the search for looked weird as it had a tie at the top instead of button/zippers. But as I tried it on, I fell in love with it as it still looked super elegant and cute. It's hard to find aloha clothes that doesn't look too cheesy or touristy, but if you're looking for something to wear out at a special occasion or tops for work, then I would check this place out. It's more on the expensive side, but I think it's worth the investment. Their clothes tend to run on the bigger side, so make sure to try it on before you buy it. read more

Only in the last 3-4 years have I shopped here. One of last retail stores where you're greeted with a sincere, friendly, "Welcome.". Then one of the workers will ask if you need help, with a smile and cheerful attitude - fo real helpful - not fake. Since their products are awesome and of good quality, they're popular and as a result sometimes can't find a size that I, or my daughter, need. That's how life is - sometimes can, sometimes cannot. I shop only in person now days and not online as I have tried stores such as Best Buy, Macy's, Target etc where I complete a purchase online only to be disappointed a few days later as item is no longer available. That's life, cannot help. Best to go in person to improve chances of getting what I, mostly my daughter lol, want. Support local. This store and its employees definitely LIVE ALOHA. Horrible exchange policy. I received a XS shirt for my birthday in April. I didn't try it on until a month later because XS always fits me. This one did not. Anyways, I tried to exchange it today for a small and they refused. I had zero clue about a 30-day return policy. Apparently they write it on the back of the tag. Who would have thought to check the back of the tag for a return date??? Bad customer service. This is not a normal exchange or return policy for any other retailer I've been to. This is my "go to" place for traditional Hawaiian aloha wear, and as a local family-owned establishment, one of the last of its kind that makes distinctive mu'u mu'us and aloha shirts that don't look like carbon copies of mainland brands. A lot of hawaiian musical bands and hula halaus use their clothes for performances. I am a private guide here in Oahu, and I use their aloha shirts for tours because they stand out. The only negative is that when new designs come out (every month or two), I am not a constant shopper so by the time I get there, they are out frequently out of my color or size. read more

I needed a dress for an upcoming event and I've always seen such pretty dresses from this place so I thought I'd give it a try. I went on a Sunday morning as soon as they opened. There were already a few other ladies shopping around. As a browsed around the store I noticed the other associates helping the other customers and starting dressing rooms for them. However, as I was looking around no associate acknowledged me. Mind you, there were at least 3 associates on the floor and the store is very small. I held two pieces of clothing in my hand as I walked around but still no help. When I finally decided to try on, I had to approach an associate and all she did was yell from the register, "yes any open room!" and continue her conversation with another worker. Not as known as Tory Richard's or Reyn's, Maunuheali'i has a fierce following on Oahu. As Sig Zane is in Hilo, Maunuheali'i represents the Honolulu side of Hawaiian prints. Many of them are very contemporary and push the envelope as far as colors go, even if the many different cuts are fairly standard. They have plenty of matching sets for the whole family. The truly hard core fans call to know when the new styles and prints are out and snap them up quickly. The store is very clean and bright, easily showcasing the styles and colors nicely. They seem to be always busy. The parking lot is almost always full, so you may have to wait for a stall to open up, but it usually doesn't take too long.
