Never again. Ordered takeout tonight and mentioned a coupon. Went to pick up my meal and it was 30 minutes late. Upon receiving the meal the same bartender that took my order told me that I couldn't use the coupon on takeout. Really? Even after a 30-minute delay? I am going to piggy-back off of another review, but the night we were in there it was super smokey as well. Also was explained as some burned food. There was also a waitress that dropped an entire large tables worth of food (which is an accident obviously) but we spent about 20 minutes having someone clean food right from near our table, which was awkward. From my experience the food was good, it was a bit on the pricey side for what you are getting versus other Italian restaurants in the area so it would be more of a 'special' occasion. The ambiance was nice, very classy. I only heard about it through word-of-mouth they didnt do much road advertising nor have I heard anything about them. Stephanie took our order and was extremely polite and helpful (after the owner answered the phone and abruptly put us on hold without saying anything). I will say, the owner isn't super friendly and wasn't wearing a mask while standing behind the cash register counting money. I went with a friend of mine on a Tuesday just as they were opening. Unbeknownst to us, two very large parties were already seated. 30 people in total. We were met by our server, Jeremy, who turned out to be a gem. He was polite and attentive and was even able to chat with us some despite the hectic pace to his start of the work day. The food (chicken parmesan for me and chicken french for my friend) was spot on. The portion sizes were generous without being ridiculous. The pricing was fair and as expected. The restaurant was clean and well kept. Jeremy was a top notch server and one of the main reasons we would happily go back. There are plenty of other menu items I would like to try as we were able to peak at the dishes of the large parties getting served their food. I encourage you to give this local restaurant a try. Worst I've ever been treated at a restaurant. My wife made reservations for three early in the day. When we got there, we were not immediately greeted by anyone on staff, which wasn't a huge deal, but it just got worse from there. The restaurant was only at about half its capacity, and we were the only people waiting to be seated. After a short three minutes of standing and feeling invisible, my wife stopped one of the waitresses to tell her our name and that we had a reservation. She was able to get the attention of the host, who we believe is also the owner. His greeting was less then cordial and one where he seemed putout that he had to get up from his chair at the bar. He grunted by telling us that it would take a few minutes which wasn't an issue. However, two minutes later, he re-approached us and spoke rudely saying that our reservations were set for three people, not two. As he only saw the two of us, he demanded we wait for the third to arrive. My wife explained that she initially called in for three but an hour later called the restaurant to clarify that there would now only be two. The owner said that he never got that message and his attitude seemed to demonstrate that there was a problem that such trivial information did not get cleared with him. My wife questioned him whether that caused an issue? He then proceeded to scold my wife claiming that she got "in the face" of one of the waitresses which apparently didn't sit well with him. That hardly was the case at which point we turned around and said we are leaving. His tone was harsh and uninviting. Even if we hadn't called ahead to change our party size from three down to two, I wouldn't think it would be an issue given how the restaurant was less than half capacity. We walked in with no reservation on a Saturday night and the wait time was reasonable. While we were waiting, we noticed many of the canned items for sale were past their expiration date, indicating a lack of attention to detail. This seemed to continue once we were seated as the service took a quite long time to get started. The server seemed to lack the ability to combine steps in order to make service more productive. A few details that were sloppy/missed: Our water was never refilled, a requested lime for the sparkling water was never delivered, the glasses for our bottled beverages came warm and wet, fresh out of the dishwasher, unpolished which tasted like dish soap. The salads came next with a balsamic vinaigrette that was clearly not homemade. Then the appetizers arrived which seemed to be a bit out of order given that the salads came first. The entrees finally came and the fra diavolo had zero heat in what seemed like the expired tomato sauce from the jars up front, although the seafood and pasta was cooked perfectly. The "icing on the cake" was after the owner and waiter sang Happy Birthday to a nearby table. A regular customer at our adjacent table interrupted our conversation to interject in a rude tone, "The least you could do is clap!" We were stunned by the gall of this regular. We restrained ourselves from commenting back and could not get our check fast enough. The whole experience from beginning to end earned Nucci a spot on our "Never Again" list. read more

Wish I could give this place NEGATIVE stars. Not only was the food bad, but the obnoxious, miserable tiny old man running the place was worse (which seems pretty in character for him after reading the other reviews). We ordered three filets and all were disgusting and inedible. The meat was GREY and tasted expired. It took at least half an hour for anyone to come over and check on our food. After tracking down our waiter at the bar, the owner came over, sat down at our table, and whipped out the receipt from his wallet screaming that he bought the steaks this morning. He pulled out a giant wad of cash with the receipt to show us he had money apparently?? When my mother tried to speak he put up his hand and said "no. listen to me." So incredibly rude and the worst customer service I had ever experienced. Before we even got to say anything he said, "I'm not comping five steaks I'll tell you that right now." Last night after almost two hours we were waiting for dessert. The owner came to our table and said, "I need this table. Seriously, I need this table. you can go to the bar and get a free drink. I told him we were waiting for dessert." He walked away not happy. A little while later, I saw him pointing to our table. Needless to say, we were furious. I went there on Easter. I usually enjoy the food. However, this particular time I ordered the prime rib. Their menu was limited due to it being Easter. The prime rib was TERRIBLE. It was tough, dry and had no flavor. I ordered it medium well, which is how I usually order it at other restaurants. The waiter asked how was everything? I told him I didn't like my prime rib. He never responded just walked away. I had 4 bites of the prime rib. It was a 12 ounce. I get my bill the waiter didn't take it off. Prior to that the owner comes over and at that time I didn't know he was the owner. He asked, how was the food I told him I didn't like the prime rib. He responds did you tell the waiter I said yes. The owner goes to the customers at a table next to me and says people try to get a free meal and the customer is not always right. After a couple minutes I realized he was talking about me. I asked the water if I can speak to the manager she says she would get the owner. So he comes over and says you told the waiter you didn't soeak to me I said I didn't have a conversation with you. He was very rude, unprofessional and has horrible customer service. He tells me I ate half of the prime rib I said no I did not. I told him it was tough and dry. He responds I shouldn't have ordered it medium well. So my friend says we always order it medium well at Nolan's. The owner and I went back and forth and I just let it go. Place seemed very nice online but we were sadly mistaken. My daughter was doing her birthday dinner their with 20+ people. We had a reservation for 5:30. I arrived with my granddaughter and my sister on time at 5:25. The owner immediately approached me and I let him know that we were here for the party of 20. He asks "where is the rest of the group" I replied that they are on the way and he said " you are going to make me lose money, the whole group is suppose to be here on time". I said I'm sorry they're running a bit late, we are all just getting off of work . The owner continued to go on about losing out on money and that I don't understand how a business is run. All of this is taking place in front of my grandchild and other customers in the restaurant. I told him that he is being very rude and he is not going to lose out on money with a party of 20+ people. He also stated that we were on a "time limit". I had thought of leaving but, I stayed due to the big group we had and didn't want to ruin my daughters birthday and at that point with such a large party we would not be able to find another place to celebrate. The owner continued rounding around our table and rushing us while making comments out loud to other customers about our group, making us feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. He treated us as if we were not qualified to be eating in his restaurant do to his assumptions about our groups status. Not to mention, when we got our food it was cold and didn't meet our expectations. We greeted at the door by the owner, who was friendly and inviting. Were seated quickly and we're immediately served water. Waitress was quick to welcome us and take our drink and appetizer order. We ordered the Calamari which tasted fresh and cooked perfectly. Our dinners came very quickly. So we received a recommendation from the front desk at the Holiday Inn Express Webster for a new Italian restaurant Nucci. Off we went. We entered a very sharp warm inviting café that would lead into the bar area and then the dining area. We were greeted warmly and sat promptly. It was fairly busy and the aroma was outstanding. Our waitress was Amber. Friendly and quietly outgoing! If I have had a more complete waitress I do not remember. I was there with two other business friends. We all love Calamari and usually eat the traditional. Nucci has a Sicilian style. OVER THE MOON great. It was sautéed in EVOO, onions, banana peppers and Kalamata Olives. We all had the soup of the day. Cream of mushroom with prime rib. Obvious ingredients, great soup. One guy had a fish special and thought it was great. My boss had the Delmonico Au Jus with veggies. He said it was very good. I had the Calamari. Now I eat Italian every chance I get. My three favorite places to have Calamari is The Warf in San Francisco, Little Italy in Manhattan, and Little Italy in Boston. The calamari was good in all places, the cities decided the order. Well I replaced Boston with Nucci Calamari. You ask why, it was a very different preparation. You had the shrimp, scallops and clams. The shrimp and Scallops were whole; extremely tender (These are easy item to overcook!) But they minced the clams so you had a little of the clams in each bite. Additional there was diced tomatoes in the sauce. OUTSTANDING! Very different then my other top two. The other thing that makes this restaurant stand out is the owner Nick came over and spent several minutes with him. Classy touch! THIS IS A MUST TRY! You will not be disappointed. To the other reports I do not doubt them but will say I believe the restaurant only opened in November. Give it another chance. I would give it a ten if I could! NEXT DAY! OK I never remember doing this ever! The day after our first visit to Nucci we (my boss and I) talked about what a great experience it was. That night as we were trying to decide where to eat I suggested we go back to Nucci. (FYI we travel three-four days a week and eat out a lot. We work together one week a month.) So off we go. Nick met us at the door and remembered us. We sat at the bar for a change. My boss had the Shrimp scampi and said it was great. I had the NY Strip Au Jus with baked potato. Really good! BTW this was the first time I had steak and potatoes while dinning at an Italian restaurant. I'm Irish and meat and potatoes are in my DNA, and I love PASTA. A MUST TRY. Oh yes Nick came by again and thanked us for coming again. He is a very easy guy to chat with. I felt like I had known him for year. While at the bars we saw several parties that were locals that have been there several times. They agreed with us this place is a hidden gem! read more

Worst Italian food I have ever had. I have no idea how this place is so busy. Calamari appetizer was soggy and chewy. My husband's veal parmesan was so tough and chewy he had a hard time cutting through it and my eggplant was soggy and chewy covered in the most bland, flavorless sauce. The owner is horrible! Attended my friends birthday dinner this weekend , total of 24 of us. Only had 1 waiter assigned to our table which obviously should have at least had two with that size party. Waited a long time to get our food but was not a problem since we were busy enjoying ourselves. Food started coming out, however not all at once. Some got their food while others waited 20 plus minutes. Finally everyone got their food except my friends mother. She had to ask the waiter for her food and when he returned from the kitchen, asked her what she had ordered?! At this point her sister had already shared her plate with her and she told the waiter if the foods not made just forget it and take it off my check. Waiter says ok. All of a sudden, waiter comes back with her dinner with the owner behind him yelling "here's your food and you're paying for it!" Then goes on a rant yelling how there's nothing wrong with their food, then asks who ordered the Delmonico steak - (he was referring to another friend of ours who sent her steak back because she did not like it) and goes onto say there's nothing wrong with that steak and you're paying for it. She never asked for her steak to be taken off her bill so she was confused. All this yelling in front of other customers!I've never in my life experienced such embarrassment and mistreatment. It was so bad that even their own workers came up to us and apologized for his behavior. Other customers apologized and commended us on how we handled the situation.I'm still in such disbelief that a business owner would treat his customers in such way, and still be in business! I thought we were being discriminated against because of our skin color, but after reading all of these reviews now realize he's just a jerk! Ordered food to go. Food was good however we ordered Rose sauce - a blend of red and Alfredo sauce. When I picked up the order the price seemed high to me. Come to find out they charged $6 in Alfredo sauce surcharge but never told my wife there was an surcharge when placing the order. When I questioned it the bartender said yes there is a surcharge but wouldn't credit the bill. Bad customer service. There are other, better Italian restaurants in Rochester! read more

My husband was on business in Webster for 2 months during the "lock down" and when we found Nucci's it was a game changer. We ordered dinner and lunch for the following day. Met friends there for dinner on Sunday. We had reservations for 6:30. I can't comment on the food because we were never served. After the hostess seated us, it was 15 minutes before the waitress came to our table. When the waitress finally came, she informed us that she was the only waitress working. The place wasn't crowded, maybe 6 or 7 tables. She took our drink orders and disappeared. There was no bar tender to be seen, and the hostess made no attempt to help the only waitress. After 45 minutes we still hadn't gotten our drinks, and the waitress kept disappearing for long periods of time. We decided to leave. It was embarrassing because our friends were from out of town, and we were hoping for a good Italian meal and drinks. We couldn't even find anyone to complain to when we left. It was evident that the management didn't support their servers because there was nobody onsite to help them. We won't be coming back. read more

There was nothing good about my experience here...we were told our food would be ready at 6:15 and we didn't get it until after 7 pm. In addition to the wait, the fish fry was terrible. Hilight of the meal- our server Myles Low point- speed of the kitchen or lack there of and the food I went here with my husband on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fairly full but there wasn't a wait. From start to finish we were sitting just over 90 minutes. We started off with the calamari Sicilian style. The batter was falling off the calamari. Overall it wasn't bad, just ok. Then we both had the Italian Wedding Soup. My bowl had one very small meatball. I figured I just got a bad bowl, but no, my husbands bowl had the same problem. Again the soup wasn't bad, just ok. My husband ordered the Chicken French which was pretty good. I had the Carbonara. My meal lacked pretty much anything including flavor. It tasted like linguini with cream sauce and chunks of ham. Overall the food was just ok to disappointing. The portions were so large it was overkill. The kitchen speed was so slow it was almost hilarious. I heard a different server tell his table of 4 that their entrees were taking a while because a large table was backing up the kitchen. The large table he was referring to was being served salads. I have a hard time believing their kitchen is so slow that salads back up main entrees but with the time it took to get out meal I'm not surprised. On to the service... Our server Myles was one of the best servers I've had at any restaurant. He made our experience really enjoyable. If I do go back, I would want to have him again. Customer service terrible.. Went for lunch with another couple asked for macroni salad (one of two choices on menu) for side. I was told "we are all out" did not want fries OK, soup was the second side with my sandwich asked for soup of the day instead of wedding soup, "Oh that is extra" Passed on the soup. Since I am not having fries or macroni salad or soup can I get a side salad? " Sure but that is extra" Really u don't have one of the two options on the menu at 1130 am (opening time 1130) and nothing is offered as a substitution .. The response was "I don't make the rules" French dip arrived with no dip had to ask for that. No refills offered on any beverages at the table.. This waitress has a total of 3 tables so she shouldn't have been overwhelmed. Will not return or recommend to anyone. read more

We went to the recently-opened Nucci's Italian Seafood & Steak House due to positive postings on Facebook. When we walked in, the place was filed with smoke, seemingly due to something that caught fire in the kitchen. The host apologized for it and said they were working on clearing it out. First impression: pretty poor. We were then seated all the way to the rear on the left side of the dining room, something that I liked because it meant we would have a shot at being able to hear each other talk as we ate, a rarity these days. Unfortunately, we were seated right next to a table with a screaming 1-year-old and a large family with others that were either also misbehaving or getting yelled at for misbehaving. While it was not the restaurant's fault, it did not improve our first impression at all. Thank goodness they left about halfway through our meal. My wife noticed that our table was pretty wobbly, and the server Kevin used a plastic nameplate that I found on the floor near the table to our left to rectify the situation. That was nicely handled. The menu was not particularly exciting, basic fare true to the name of the place. Prices were higher than the decor or our first impressions would have predicted, but not outrageous. I had one of the specials, sea bass over escarole, with a cup of Italian wedding soup. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan with seafood bisque and the artichoke salad for a starter. We were both a little surprised when Kevin asked if it would be okay if the soup and the appetizer came out at the same time. Rather than make an issue over this we just said that would be fine. Kevin brought the soups out and then told us that the other server had just sold the last of the artichoke salads. However, he apologized and offered the tomato salad instead, which we accepted. The Italian wedding soup was very good but quite salty, which came to be a general trait of the food overall. The bisque was also good. The sea bass over escarole was VERY salty, while the chicken parm was less so. Both were tasty otherwise. The chicken parm was HUGE, so much so that it was easily enough for two people. We did not stay for dessert or coffee, as it was a Sunday night and the smell of the smoke was still fairly annoying. When we got the check, Kevin was WAY too attentive about getting it from us, particularly after we had signed it, when I am used to it just sitting on our table until we were ready to leave. Nope, Kevin checked back almost immediately, then made a lame "I don't mean to hover" comment, to which I almost blurted out "Then why are you?" but bit my tongue. 10 years ago I would have, but I am getting mellow in my old age I guess. It was very inappropriate, to say the least. We felt quite rushed out of the place. Will we go back? Maybe once because the food was not bad, and we would like to give it one more try. We dined on a recent Friday night. It was our first meal at Nucci's. I am in total agreement about the rude manners of the owner. While we had a reservation, he said he'd be back in a minute after seating another party and left us standing at the reservation desk for a good 20 minutes without acknowledging us at all. After we saw him speak rudely to someone requiring about their reservation, we decided to just wait our supposed turn. He clearly seated regulars before us. No reservations. We were thinking about leaving when we were finally seated. Things got better then. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Our meals were fine, fish fry and a pasta dish. Wine was over priced. Highlight was the delicious house dressing for our salads. Bread was deliciously chewy. Since our entrees were nothing more than fine, the gruff attitude of the owner helped us decide not to return. read more

One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had!! Food was bland - canned mushrooms were used rather than fresh. Music was so loud you could not have a conversation. But the worst part was when we were asked to leave or sit by the bar so that they could accommodate a party of 15. Mind you - we had asked if we could have our table moved before anyone got there because it was too loud. The manager/owner - said no. We asked 3 times and each time were told no. We arrived around 5 pm and the dining room was pretty much empty. Even when we were asked to leave our table - the restaurant was still 2/3 empty. They could have easily accommodated the party of 15 in another part of the restaurant. The server kept asking if we were done with our salads even tho we were in the midst of eating it. At no time were we asked if we would like another cocktail. Then after the server took our plates - the waitress put our check on the table. She never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. On the way out we could not find the manager/owner to comment on what happened. What another waitress asked us how everything was - we said terrible. Her response was "sorry about that"! read more

No fresh Ricotta, no Pancetta and the "homemade " Italian sausage was KIELBASA. The salad was tasteless. The calamari was tough and chewy. We left over 3/4 of our dishes there. We were cordially greeted by the owner which was a very nice introduction to the restaurant. Our waitress was the owner's daughter. She was very polite, friendly, and efficient and did her best to accomodate our group. The food was very good, albiet quite pricey. My comlaint was that it was a very hot night and the restaurant was just as hot. We brought friends from out of town who were uncomfortable and sweating during their meal. Needless to say, they had their air conditioning off and there were no ceiling fans in the restaurant. I had to ask the waitress to turn on the air, but it stayed hot throughout our meal. To top it off, the windows had no window dressings on them so when the sun went down, it shone directly in our eyes which made for a further unpleasant dining experience. Would I return? No. read more
