A bit disappointed with my visit to Nucci's. Overall a mixed bag. I would like to revisit and try something different because some aspects were great. Our server was incredible. He was very professional and well equipped to handle our larger party. The overall quality of food was inconsistent. I ordered a steak medium well and it was over done, to the point of being burnt in some areas. The penne pasta with vodka sauce was too heavy and not enjoyable. The crab cakes appetizer was excellent, not overly breaded. Also enjoyed the hearty flavor of the Italian wedding soup and balsamic asparagus. The restaurant vibe was fun. Italian music played over the speakers and made for nice background noise. I also enjoyed the seasonal decor on display for St. Patrick's Day. read more

We have been loyal customers for years now. We had a very poor food experience a year ago, but still decided to give them another chance. Last night we went with a group of friends, never have I been so embarrassed to have brought my friends here as we were there over 3 hours, didn't get our food for over 2 hours after ordering and Not Once did the owner come over to apologize to our tables. When we went to find the owner and complain all he did was give excuses. Also the food was either too spicy or salted beyond taste. Unfortunately, it will be a long time before they see us again, if ever. read more

Then it took another hour and fifteen minutes to get the food, mind you the restaurant was completely empt, they didn't even get it right . I would NOT recommend Nucci's at all! The Chicken French was tasteless and chicken Parmesan was dry. We had Calamari which had a dressing on it which drowned out the taste . Our server did his best as the bartender, server, cook, training someone while running the restaurant. We were told the cook left for a family matter?? The restaurant is dark with little lighting in the back of the restaurant. We realize there was a fee for use of a credit card . To add 3.5% fee to our check for a poor dining experience I feel is another reason we will not be returning to this restaurant. Arrived at 6:00 and walked out at 8:30 pm. Food was delicious. The service was a little slow, however the restaurant was very busy so I think they were understaffed. Some items were forgotten/ mixed up. Restaurant was less than half full. We arrived at 5:30pm then at 7:20 was informed that our food is just getting started. Prior to ordering the server did inform us there is a new chef in training so the food may take a little longer than usual. Not 1 of 6 people in my party assumed "a little longer" meant 2 hours. On top of that the serves stories did not align. When we first addressed how long we have been waiting he again reminded us about the new chef. The second time he said our food would start cooking after the table of 5 next to us. Then we spoke with a different employee and she said the chef would start our food. Sounded like a whole bunch of excuses and I was extremely unsatisfied with the way the staff handled the issue. We got our soups, salads and probably 8 refills of water before eventually notifying our server we would be leaving. I decided to come here after not going for many years. I remember my last experience being enjoyable. This time not so much. Our waitress was immediately kind of dismissive and maybe that's the fact that we looked young and they have a stigma that young people don't tip. During our annual visit to Rochester, we usually find ourselves at Nucci's for a meal - the ambiance is nice, the food is fresh and the service is attentive. We had a party of 7 and Steve was our waiter - did a great job explaining the daily specials and getting our meal well-paced. The stuffed mushroom and Sicilian calamari were both right on point - very tasty. I tried the daily special, a pork braciole, and while it was good, it had a lot of flavors going that, when combined, just didn't quite all work for me. We addressed the slow delay in getting our food with our server and he did his best. We then spoke to owner who was over at the bar the entire evening. I made reservations for 730pm but arrived an hour early. My reservations were never written down but I felt that was okay since many tables were open. Surprised for a Friday night and since they offered Prime Rib as a special on Friday and Saturday. There were two other families there. We were seated and looked over the menu even though we had our hearts set on their prime rib. When our waitress arrived I asked her about the prime rib but she seemed confused and said she will get us a different waitress. After a while our new waitress stopped over and took our drink order. One Pepsi and one merlot. The merlot tasted a little like perfume. The bread was excellent. We waited for 20 minutes until she came back and almost every "meat" item was unavailable. She noticed the disappointment and went back and said she found me a steak. My husband asked for more time. When she left we couldn't understand why so many items were unavailable especially for a Friday night and the place was practically empty. I was really fooled by their website. They didnt even have fish and it was lent. Let me add the woman's bathroom was not working and it said "use men's". The bathroom was very dirty. When the waitress returned we asked for the check. I paid for the horrible wine and great Pepsi. We went to another establishment and had an amazing meal. I shared this event and learned someone got very sick from eating there. I wish they would take down their website. Im sure many other people will see the most delicious meals and specials but will never experience it. We have enjoyed dinners at Nucci's for years and always have a delicious, generous servings of food. Yes, the service always seems to be slow, but we know that going in and use the time to enjoy time with friends. The lack of air conditioning during our visit last week did make me uncomfortably warm and we hope it is fixed soon. Erica, who mans the bar, is terrific, always remembers our drinks even though we aren't there too often. Steve, our usual waiter, is always unflustered, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive - although at times he is over worked. Nick can be a bit gruff at times, but we usually banter with him and have never found him to be offensive or angry. read more

Was a long wait to have orders taken, bring bread, soup / salad, drink refills , get meal etc. No one else was there at 5 Shouldn't have been the long process it was (out at 7:30). One Positive was to take kid orders fairly promptly and submitted, but then took a very long time to take adult orders and get meals out ... about an hr or more later. Kind of defeats the purpose. Customer service goes a long way, but this place needs significant improvement in this department. The flow of service to coordinate meal in timely manner lacks. Horrible Experience...I visited Nuccis tonight for an early Mother's Day celebration with my expecting Daughter and Daughter in Law. We were served bread and water quickly and our server Steve took a bit longer to come over but was very polite and welcoming. He took our drink order, then after awhile our appetizer order. The drinks took an "almost" normal amount of time- however it was over an hour from walking in the door (at least 45 minutes from ordering) for our appetizers (calamari and greens and beans) to be delivered to our table. We were well into our appetizers when our order for dinner was taken, and then we waited and waited and waited. Steve told us they were shorthanded as they only had one chef that evening and that the other had gone home sick. We were understanding and enjoying each other's company. We watched every table around us- some who came in before us and some who came in after us- be served and when we were the only table remaining we still were WAITING for our dinners. But as our visit approached three hours, I sought out the owner to discuss the issue. A simple apology and a comp of drinks, dessert, literally anything would've been appreciated. The owner did not once apologize. He immediately became defensive, scrutinizing our arrival time,looking at paper print outs to see a time line of when the order was put in by the server, etc. Our food finally came from the kitchen, when I saw this (still talking to the owner) I asked the server to box it to go. The owner told his server "no she's not taking that". After spending nearly 3 HOURS in this restaurant waiting for that dinner! Shocked, I said I would be writing a poor review for his customer service and he responded with "whatever you have to do" and then banned me from ever coming back to the Nuccis establishment. What a very strange experience . Entrees: Baked Penne was a bowl of pasta with just a ton of cheese thrown in . Oh did I say it was cold? No? Well it was.. Linguine with White Clam Sauce was order with gluten free pasta. When it arrived it came on regular pasta!! The server said "I told them but they didn't do it. Is that ok" ‍Linguine with White Clam Sauce WRONG Pasta and had a special tinny taste . Lasagna had a decent flavor but a little light on cheese ...I'd say . Seafood Fra Diavolo was very good loaded with seafood but very little pasta . Now they take the Baked Penne off the bill ... BUT they added a side salad charge .. I thought salad was included in the meal....maybe I just read the Menu wrong.... To sum it all up.. Very Slow Service Food did not taste fresh Food made wrong Took a meal off the bill then charged us for a side salad ‍.... Which was included with the meal... i'm still confused about that one!?!?!? My wife and I took our Priest out for dinner and went to Nucci's. The restaurant was very clean and not too busy as it was a snowy night. The waitress told us it was Prime Rib night. The Priest and I ordered the Prime Rib, and my wife ordered Artichoke French. We had a very good soup and then the meal was delivered. The Prime Rib looked like nothing I had ever seen before. It was like a slab of meat. It was so tough that it was hard to cut and impossible to chew. We told the waitress about the meat, and she asked if we would like something else. I replied yes. As we were deciding what else we would like, she said, "Even if you select something else, you will still have to still pay for the prime ribs". I said we would not pay for something we couldn't eat. She left to talk with the chef and returned stating, "If you buy something else, we will only charge you for one prime rib". I asked for the bill that was around $140.00. I didn't feel like complaining any more as the I could see the priest was getting nervous and saying, "sit's ok, the soup was all he needed. read more

10 of us have had a cousin's dinner once a month since 2011. That is over 120 restaurants in the Monroe county area. We have never encountered a ruder owner then the one at Nucci's. The service was very slow, the food was just average but the owner was the rudest owner we have ever met. What a miserable human being this man was. I was craving Italian food on a cold Sunday night and unfortunately Nucci's did not deliver for me. The quiet, low light ambiance served nicely for our date night. Our server and especially the bus boy were very attentive. They also have a dessert display case on the other side of the restaurant. Based on the setup, I presume it's supposed to be similar to a cafe. I'm not sure if they have other baked goods other than the huge cakes they had on display. We were served with complimentary bread and butter to start. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer and it was flavorless with more than a few burnt peas. The shrimp bisque soup was light on flavor. My favorite guy had the chicken asiago which was soggy chicken, shrimp, broccoli served over pasta in a butter wine sauce and that was mediocre. I had the carbonara which was very rich and creamy and had the most flavor compared to all the dishes. It was served with a good amount of pancetta and sausage so meat lovers will enjoy this. My wife and I went to dinner on a Thursday night 6-16-22. We were greeted and seated right away. Stephen (the waiter) came over right away and was extremely personable and took our drink order. We asked Stephen, what do you recommend. He went through the specials and said that the Carbonara Napoli (adds broccoli) was his favorite. My wife ordered that (with the broccoli) and I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavola. We ordered the calamari (Sicilian) for a starter. The appetizer came out quickly and the dinners arrived shortly after we finish the calamari. The appetizer and both dinners were exceptional! Service was exceptional as well. The staff is amazing and the owner is always there, for most people that would be a plus, however in this situation he is absolute miserable old man that belittles his employees and customers. We actually sat down at the bar and asked for an espresso martini and the girl behind the bar wasn't 100% sure how to make one. However one of the servers who also bartends offer to help. The owner then begins to yell at his employees and even went so far to say she is a thief. We felt so uncomfortable and offended that after we got our drinks we finished them quickly and left. From what i heard from other servers this is a normal night. He insults his employees and customers. I'll never go back and I'd strongly suggest that you find someplace else to spend your money.
