Was in town for the day and a local took our group here. It was a very cool place with fresh cookies seemingly being baked throughout the day. Most people got the cheese burger and to a person raved about it. One got the Pad Thai and they said it was really good and had the right amount of heat. I got the Sausage and Pepper Wood-fire Pizza which was excellent. It hostess warned that it was spicy, but I found that it was not overly spicy but did have green flavor. Would definitely be back if I was local.

Staying in Easton for the weekend visiting our girls, we ended up at Northstar's for brunch. It was crowded but we found seating upstairs for our party of 6. The staff were friendly and helpful in rearranging the seat to accommodate us without too much of a problem. The restaurant is bright and airy, and gives off an 80's college student union vibe with the red brick and oak tables. We skipped the brunch cocktail and wine, and just had their house coffee which was pretty good and their local branded sodas which tasted like store brand sodas and a bit off. We all chose a breakfast dish, the everyday/deluxe egg sandwiches, the sunrise burrito, the mushroom frittata, and the country breakfast. None were spectacular and the pork sausage tasted kind of offal like. Weird. Not the best but not the worst. Should have gone to Fado's for a full Irish breakfast.

I want to say that I love Northstar and I love the jazz and the burgers and the chocolate truffle cookies. 5 stars for all of those things! But today I had a $27 dollar NASTY tuna meal. I love seared tuna so like fine, I'll splurge. This tuna steak was smothered in such salty seasoning it was near inedible, I had to cut off all 4 sides because it was so over seasoned. I have never in my life had tuna served this way. The salad was like a take on a Niçoise salad, pretty good but the tuna was so so bad. Please take this off your menu or rework it.

Service: this is hard to answer due to it being a sit and serve yourself establishment. I am a regular and know all the workers there, but everyone is always nice and very respectful. Ambiance/atmosphere: can get loud and a little crowded especially due to the seat yourself aspect. The jazz is very nice especially when you're enjoying a later afternoon meal. Perfect spot for friends. Food: growing up this place was my absolute favorite and I would get the fish sandwich any chance given. I'll say the fish sandwich is still very good, but since they've expanded all items have fallen behind on the flavor they once had. Fish sandwich: juicy flaky but held together fish on a perfectly toasted in house made brioche sesame seed bun and topped with a simple topping of kale salad. The sandwich is very good and the aïoli makes it that much better. I recommend an extra side of the aioli. Sandwich comes with the most perfect "simple salad" with an amazing dressing and house made croutons. Cheeseburger: I would have told you it was the best cheeseburger I'd ever had anywhere a few years ago, but now I can still say it is very good. In house blended brisket and chuck, with a melted piece of yellow cheddar on another perfectly toasted in house brioche sesame seed bun topped with shredded lettuce, juicy tomato, pickles, mustard, and I'd recommend asking for a side of aioli to add on. The burger comes with perfectly crisp and thin fries. The fries are always perfectly salty and pair so amazingly with the aioli. Pizza: They no longer have the item, but I have to mention the fiore was an absolute master piece. The crispy kale and hot honey pizza is absolutely delicious and you could argue their best item. It is perfectly cheesy and the crust is fantastic in their wood burning oven. The kale gets crispy and flaky and melts in your mouth while the hot honey just coats your mouth along with the cheese. Truly a fantastic pizza. Their classic margherita is also very good, the ricotta is warm and melted and the tomato sauce is so fresh and flavorful without being a bombshell in your mouth. Can't go wrong with either of these pizzas. Smoothie bowl: I love their smoothie bowl, it's so refreshing and the blueberry smoothie is just the perfect mix with the chia seeds, almonds, and other toppings. The granola(which you can buy separately) is really good and definitely the best house made granola I've ever had. This is a fantastic side option or if you're just looking for something quick and/or light. Sunrise burrito is a delicious medium sized burrito. For most it is enough to fill you, but for a large eater like myself two does the job. Everything is so fresh with the crispy in house hash browns, delicious sweetness added by the sweet potato, fluffy perfectly cooked cheesy eggs are gooey, and the corn and black beans are a delightful addition. The verde sauce is a perfect pairing and mixes fantastically. (You can also add bacon and/or sausage) Cloud nine pancakes are a ricotta based pancake and are incredible. 3 medium to large pancakes served with fresh banana and 100% organic maple syrup. These pancakes are some of the best around and truly are an amazing bite. They're soft and melt through just a couple chews and the banana is a fantastic sweet addition. Mushroom frittata is delightful. For a long time this was my go to breakfast entree and is always perfectly done. The mushrooms are soft, but not over cooked and mushy. The eggs fluff and perfectly cooked with cheese and the addition of their in house ground sausage is the perfect match and must add on. Desserts: I am not big into sweet, but in my Opinion the cookies here are the best of the best. The oatmeal raisin is to die for and the peanut butter brittle cookie is the best peanut butter cookie I've ever eaten. The chocolate chip cookie although very good and the added sea salt is a great touch, is just a little too sweet and rich for me(not a sweets person). The praline scone is really good. It's buttery and soft but with a crispy exterior and for someone who loves pecans like myself it is really a great option. Their carrot cake is good and has a moist cake, but man if you are like me and not too big into sweets I'd skip. It is very sweet, almost punch you in the throat sweet, but if sweets are your thing you'll love this.

Single Ricotta Pancake and Breakfast Potatoes

Went to Northstar for my first time on Saturday for brunch with some friends while I was visiting town and I really enjoyed it. To start, I liked that you order at the counter and then your food is brought to your table. I ordered the strawberry smoothie, side ricotta pancake, and the side of breakfast potatoes and enjoyed all of them. I will say that I expected the ricotta pancake to be good but it was truly way better than expected in the best way and I really, really liked it. I also cannot say enough great things about the staff - from the counter to our table, the staff was EXTREMELY kind and welcoming and I really appreciated how awesome they were our entire visit. Thank you, Northstar for an awesome visit and cannot wait to return when I'm back in town!

My recent experience with northstar cafe was disappointing. Came in here for lunch. The prices were too high. The food tasted horrible and it took too long for the food to arrive. The service was alright. The only saving grace for this lunch was the freshly squeezed orange juice however that was experience as well.

The Northstar at Easton was a great place to start our weekend. The staff members seem attentive and professional. They worked diligently as a team to take orders, and to provide our food and drinks. It was quite crowded at 9:30 and the only seats available were at the bar but they were comfy. I ordered the sausage gravy & Biscuits with scrambled eggs. We also had the breakfast burrito, which I really loved. The mint iced coffee was okay but I probably will not order it again. Overall pleasant visit.

I was in the area for work and my coworker recommended this place for breakfast. Let me start off by saying that the decor alone had me sold that everything would be great. The staff was welcoming and readily available for any questions. The display of pastries made me want to order them all. I liked their ordering process, you pick up the menu when you walk in, place the order at the register and pay. When your food is ready they bring it to you The place is big yet cozy and there is plenty of seating options. There is two levels, the second level overlooking the first level. I had their Mushroom Frittata, which was so fresh and full of flavor. From the presentation to the flavor it was a 10/10 for me. I had the Shooting Star drink, very fresh ingredients and super tasty and delicious to drink. I also tried their ham and cheese scone. It is big and can be easily shared. It was delicious! Overall, great place to go for breakfast before doing some shopping in the Easton Town Center

It was super quick to order at North Star Cafe with heavenly fluffy pancakes and a side of biscuits and gravy quickly arriving to my table. The staff were all extremely friendly and the space felt light and airy.

Northstar Cafe has been a favorite of mine in Columbus for years. I've enjoyed watching the menu evolve while keeping the same great taste and quality. My go-to is the Buddha Bowl with half chicken and half tofu--it's simple, healthy, and full of flavor. Their giant cookies are also a must-try and delicious!! The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it ideal for a quick bite or a sit-down meal. The service has always been reliable and friendly! Highly recommend Northstar if you're looking for fresh, tasty food in Columbus!

Unfortunately, the Gina's Gem was nothing like what was advertised. I was expecting warm, crusty bread with a roasted cheese dip on the side so you could tear pieces of bread and dip them into the cheese. Instead, the cheese had already been spread directly onto the bread and toasted together. Because of that, the bread lost the texture you would expect--it wasn't crusty or dippable at all. It ended up soft, almost soggy, and the cheese was baked onto the bread rather than being a dip. The whole appeal of the dish was supposed to be the warm bread with the roasted cheese to dip into, and that part was completely missing. Included with the bread was a hot honey that missed the mark on being "hot" and some kind of jam. These options just made everything even more soft....which should have been impossible. The salad was actually the best part of the meal - even though it was a bit spicy. I've always had good experiences here in the past, so this was a big letdown--especially for the price. I just wish the to-go version of the dish matched how it's described, or that expectations were set correctly when ordering. Unfortunately, this experience made me lose all trust in ordering from here again. I can't believe we waited until exactly 3pm (when they opened) to order this.... At the very least the pizza should have been hot.

No "best pizza in town" ego. Just a quiet little window cranking out square pies that deserve a standing ovation. I ordered the classic red top -- already a bold move -- and added pesto because balance matters and I like to live a little. The result? Beyond reproach. Fresh, loaded toppings. Sauce with depth. And that crust... that beautiful Detroit crust. Crispy edges with that caramelized cheese halo, but still chewy and pillowy inside. The textural contrast is what separates amateurs from legends -- and this? This was legend-level execution. Easily top 3 Detroit-style pizzas I've had. And that's not a casual statement.
