Tried a few things at the north loop galley. The Hawaiian place has some really yummy and fulfilling bits - one thing about it is we did not order something but it was rang and charged. To our surprise the food arrived and we were confused. They wouldn't let us "return" the food we didn't order. Ended up to to duplicate items. It was a bit awkward but next time I will make sure to ask clearly. Hence taking off the star The hot chicken sandwich was okay as well - it wasn't as juicy as I liked. Nice vibe and open concept. Another city, another epic food hall. Ok maybe this is more like a galley, like the name implies, but it's no less wonderful. Sitting in one of Minneapolis's most desirable neighborhoods, North loop galley features 4-5 eateries and a bar, with both indoor and outdoor spaces to lounge as you enjoy a diverse group of pop up eateries. There's even a wide selection of board and table top games to enhance an already fun space. I've had my fair share of Detroit style pizza, and Wrecktangle is up there as some of the best. The m we my features so much more than your ordinary red top. Ingredients like hot honey, burrata, and even pork belly make these pies not only unique, but absolutely satisfying. Feeling tropical? How about Ono Hawaiian, bring a little bit of Hawaii to Minnesota. The luau bowl is a mountain of food. Chicken katsu, kalua pork, rice, and macaroni salad. This looks and feels exactly like some of food I've had in Hawaii, and it's every bit as good. The pork is bursting with flavor and the chicken katsu couldn't have been executed any better. The katsu sauce takes it to a whole other level. This galley is so many things all once: Great food, great drinks, great meeting place, great entertainment, great hangout in all seasons. The galley has, in my opinion, the best happy hour in the city! Their cocktails are half off and their menu is fun and creative. It also goes until 6:30, which for the Twin Cities is later than average, so you have more time to take advantage of it. You also get to enjoy foods from different vendors if you'd like, and it is all pretty tasty as they are reputable restaurant booths. The vibe here is laid back but still fun and lively and is a great place to stop by for drinks or meeting friends. read more

Went for lunch with coworkers and got a nice spread of yummy food. Parking was a bit tricky during the lunch hour, but we only had to walk a block. This is a smaller food hall with a ramen restaurant, Hawaiian food, a sandwich shop, and Wrecktangle Pizza. The ramen place was closed which was a bummer! We made due with the other options and ordered a caesar salad from Wrecktangle pizza (10/10!), old bay fries from the sandwich place (8/10), bruschetta (3/10), Hawaiian fried rice (7/10) and katsu chicken (6.5/10). The food came out fast and each of the staff members were helpful and friendly. The Galley is the perfect place if you want to grab a quick lunch or hang with a cocktail and play board games. I like food halls so checking this one out was fun! I actually went to celebrate my cousins bday here. It was nice because we were able to grab a table and use a QR code to order food and drinks that were delivered to the table. There was a minimum purchase order for drinks ($15 I think) to order via the QR. food and drinks came out fairy quick. They had stations where you could grab additional plates, utensils and stuff. The outside patio was pretty packed but super nice with fireplaces and seating. Overall seemed like a really cool place to hangout. read more

Here at North Loop Galley its open seating and you can either order at your table and pay through their site or order at one of the restaurants inside. Such a cool food hall in north loop! There are fewer vendors than others in the city, but there's plenty of seating and is a great place to meet up with friends. We tried the Ono Hawaiian plates and I now have a new favorite burger in the twin cities. The OHP burger is a must try-- unique flavors and the loaded fries it comes with are amazing. Wrecktangle pizza was good too, the staff was nice and helpful. You can order from the table or from the stalls and they bring the food out which is nice! The food options here have all been great (I've been twice), the ambiance is nice and lively, and the restaurant style/service (being sit, scan QR code, and they bring food to you) is convenient. This is a great option for a large group and has a really fun vibe. They also have trivia on Tuesdays which we played! But I can't reiterate enough that I've enjoyed the food a lot here. FOOD: I've had both the Hawaiian restaurant (Ono) and Ottimo. The Hawaiian restaurant is truly top notch with great portion sizes, incredible flavor, great value, and great selection. I got the vegetable curry with chicken Katsu and the savory flavor is unmatched! I also tried the fries at Ono and they were crispy and had great flavor with the added sauces. Ottimo was also very good and exceeded my expectations. I got the "Double A salad" with chicken and it comes with fried pita which is a unique and great accompaniment. Food: there are four different restaurants to choose from which creates a lot of options, including vegetarian and vegan-friendly choices. My burger with volcano fries were delicious. My friends ordered the poke bowl, veggie bowl, and chicken + rice plate and all of their plates looked equally delicious. This was my first time here and there are so many options I'm dying to try that I'll have to come back! Service: our group came for trivia and servers bring the food out to you after you order on your phone via QR code--you can also order food directly from the vendors. Service for basic things like napkins, cutlery, and water was lacking during our visits so we got most of those items ourselves from a cart placed inside the door. We tried three out of the four restaurants + bar and they were all a hit! Wrecktangle Pizza: Ordered the Shredder, a delicious red sauce pizza with pepperoni, pickled jalapeño, and whipped Cry Baby Craig's hot honey. The pepperonis were crisp and curled and the jalapeños spicy. Bar: a classic margarita; I ordered through the QR code and was a little sad I didn't see an option for rim request because I usually like tajin over salt. It was strong but still tasty. Ottimo: Double A arugula salad & Pesto chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich came out warm and fresh with super buttery bread. These fries were crispy and so yummy, they only needed an aoli or special sauce. My family liked the salad, I would pass next time as I am not a big arugula fan just wanted to try it. One Hawaiian Plates: Got the chicken katsu and pork plate which came with macaroni salad and a scoop of white rice. Sadly, this is the only thing not pictured as we gobbled it down!! Stopped here yesterday for happy hour with friends. I had the old fashioned, which they do very well. My favorite thing about this place is that on HH, all drinks are half off. Last night was jam packed and extremely loud, so we braved the heat to sit on the patio where we could actually hear each other. Fortunately their patio has ample seating. The first was Graze a couple of blocks away from the North Loop Gallery. BTW, this space has nothing to do with art. It's a poor choice of name. Even if "Food" was used as an adjective before Gallery, it would make more sense. Sean was our charming bartender, and his sincerity helped brighten up an already beautiful day. I really like this spot. It's busy but never too busy, is low key, and plenty of seating space inside. They offered street parking but there is usually tons around. I tried the Detroit pizza from Wrecktangle pizza and it was pretty good. I also tried the burger from the new spot Ottimo, and we tried a chicken and rice dish from one of the other vendors. Overall, I thought the burger was pretty good, the fries were great, and the pizza was on point. The chicken and rice wasn't our favorite but that's okay, everyone has different taste! I've visited the North Loop Galley twice and it never disappoints! I always get the Hawaiian bbq and it always comes out fresh and hot! I love how filling it and comes with a side of rice, teriyaki sauce, and Mac and cheese! My fiancé got the mahi mahi burger and my mom got the pork roast. We have been back multiple times and have stuck with the shredder pizza from wrecktangle pizza. I don't know what it is about that pizza but it gets better and better each time. We have only branded our to the one with corn and the plain pepperoni pizza - the corn threw me off, I wasn't a true fan of it but I know others like it! The chicken strips at thigh times are still delicious but the more we order them the more they don't impress me anymore. The sauces are amazing but the last time we are there I noticed the strips come out of a freezer and get plopped into the frier - nothing special. The wribs are still where it's at with thigh times. A little more on the expensive side but delicious, full of meat, and great sauce. We haven't branched back to soulfu yet but I want to try the bahn mi soon. The Hawaiian is something we haven't tried eitherZ the prices throw me off when I go to visit the menu. Definitely more expensive then the other places here. This is one of my favorite food hall. Modern design food hall that located next to WEWORK Minneapolis. The place would be great for big groups or catching up with friends. They have plenty of seating. Don't forget to tips the cleaning guy, they clean the table for you, place a clean utensil and glass and also refill water for you. They are superb! Parking is an issue! It took us at least 15mins to find a spot on Friday night KC dry rub and Hot & Spicy BBQ Chicken Wribs from Thigh Times Birdhouse amazed me the most! Looks like a wing and eats like a rib! I think ppl are sleep on North Loop Galley... i know i was. It's located on Washington Ave, on the same block as Bunkers, good luck with parking if you're dinning in. If you're doing pick up, there is a short term pick up parking spot directly in front. (You're welcome, lol) It gives me the same vibe as Graze, a few blocks away, in the sense that you're able to choose from 3 or 4 restaurants housed inside of the NL Galley and there is one bar. So in a sense it's reminiscent of the Graze, because you get to graze thru different restaurants in one venue. Currently there is an Asian restaurant Soul Fu, a pizza spot and a Hawaiian spot called Ono Hawaiian. I honestly thought it was a college food court when I walked by once, but I remember thinking, 'For what college?' LOL Anywho, you're greeted by a friendly employee of NLG, who during heavier Covid times made you sign in, make you sanitize your hands and send you on your way! Practice is probably still the same. Reminiscent of a food court, with a higher end feel, you can sit where you want, order what you want, they'll give you a number to locate you when you're food is ready. I've seen adult bday parties there, they have good music (at least the days I've been in there, which have been multiple since I first checked in many days ago!) and the drinks are pretty good. I feel like the bartenders aren't as focused on customers the way the personal businesses are, but that's just my opinion.... which is what you're here for! Atmosphere is good; it's clean, spacious, nice crowd, mixture of ppl, and there's an outdoor section with a firepit for outdoor dining, if you can snatch a seat. Looking forward to visiting again. It was a rough day. I knew I was going to be volunteering later on and that I did not need to bring my grumbles to the event, so I planned to arrive in the neighborhood early. Initially, I was going to go to The Freehouse, which I adore, but then I saw what resembled a food court with a bar smack dab in the middle. Of course I went in. The sign above the bar said that everything is half off for happy hour. Sign me the hell up. The space is bright, open, and clean. Despite having a lot of hard surfaces (the space has a somewhat industrial vibe, but the tables and booths have a warmer version of sleek and modern--wood, soft black, cool beige... it's super chill) and a good number of people, it wasn't too loud: perfect for decompressing from a bad day. There were lots of people there with friends, too, so it would also be good for socializing. Anyway, I went up to the bar. I was after wine (the bartender recommended the rose when I said I was looking for something on the drier side), but I can definitely say that they are a great place for beer lovers and people who enjoy creative cocktails. Right before pouring me my vino, the bartender made something that had raspberry and scorched rosemary. It smelled and looked amazing! I could literally feel myself unclenching, my blood pressure coming down, and my bad day moving into the past tense. Nice! I didn't eat here, but definitely appreciate the concept. It can be a bit pricey but it seems like this has become the reality for the area. My one complaint is that the bar staff tends to be slow, unfriendly, and generally come across as the B Squad or rejects from the neighboring establishments. read more

I love the trendy food hall concept, as an "elevated food court experience." North Loop Galley has been my favorite food hall I've visited thus far. Upon walking in, the interior is spacious, and clean. You can tell a lot of work was put into designing this place and I love the clean, simple furnishings. There are lots of long communal tables, a few smaller tables with a booth on one side and chairs on the other. There is also an area that's a little more loungey in the form of a horseshoe shaped big comfy booth and small side tables for cocktails. There are glass bottles of water and cups on each of the tables that are set up, as well as stations throughout the with utensils, napkins and more water. There is a bar in the center and the 4 food stalls are behind the bar. The food stalls include: Soul Fu, Thigh Times, Wrecktangle Pizza and Ono Hawaiian Plates. A menu board is posted in front of each stall. I came here to try Ono Hawaiian Plates and it was delicious! (Review of that is posted on their own Yelp page, so I won't go into much detail of that here.) The little walkway between the back of the bar and the food stalls was fine since it wasn't busy, but I can't imagine how people could view and browse menus if it were to get busy and lines were formed to order. It would get pretty crowded back there. The concept is that you walk up to the stalls to order, you get a number that you take back to your table with you, and the food gets brought out. There are also staff walking around to bus tables when you're finished. The bar has happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-6pm and everything is half off- talk about a GREAT deal! The cocktails have fun names and there is a good variety of local beers. I love the casual vibe of this place. I also saw a few people working on their laptops. It's a cross between coffee shop and restaurant, where it is casual enough to get a drink and a bite to eat and work or read too without the feel that you are just taking up space. The music playing overhead was a little louder than I would have liked. At times, it was hard to hear my friend I was chatting with across the table from me. I did come for dinner, so IDK if the music is as loud during the daytime. As for parking, your choices are metered street parking, or there is a ramp nearby. Order at each vendor, get a number stand, sit wherever, and the food will come to you. Ono Hawaiian Plates - Finally! Hawaiian food in MSP! We got the special Katsu app, which was so incredibly crispy. We also got a plate that had kalua pork, tuna poke, macaroni salad, and rice. Classic and done right! I loved the smokiness of the pork, and the portions were generous. Wrecktangle - Bless the pizza gods for this Detroit-style angel. Their pizza crust is like a thick focaccia with the edges lined with crispy caramelized cheese, topped with innovative flavor combos. The Shredder with ample pepperoni and cheese, Cry Baby Craig's infused honey, and fresh jalapenos was incredible. One 'za comes with 8 big pieces to share (or scarf solo). Thigh Times - From the good people of Funky Grits (rip). What a fun new concept! These "Wribs" are chicken thighs that "look like a wing and eat like a rib". I was literally just having a discussion with my boyfriend about how thighs are the best the best part of the chicken. Great meaty pieces with multifaceted rubs and sauces. SoulFu - I didn't have room left in my stomach but I look forward to this southern and southeast asian cuisine fusion concept next time! What also puts NLG a cut above is the service. Every single person I encountered (which was a LOT because I sure FEASTED), was so friendly and informative. I went last Saturday with some friends and had some of the rudest service. My friends and I sat at a table near the bar which had a QR code to order food and drinks, so we did. The first server was kind (per usual) and gave us our drinks with no issue. The second two men (taller and one had a black eye) were extremely rude and just sat our drinks on the table and yelled at us for ordering online. I made eye contact with the non-black eye one when he was at the bar afterward and he just looked at me and shook his head. I'm not expecting anything grand, but this was rude and disrespectful and made us all leave after finishing our drinks, which they all had little to no alcohol. read more
