We have been coming here before my son was born. It's been more than 4 years And this is where my wife cravings started since she was born and raise in Berkeley. We came from Oakland every time she had a doctors appointment now my son is about to be 4 and in June my princess will be 1. Now we come from alameda to continue our little new family tradition. Great service. read more

Last Saturday seemed like a good day for pizza delivery. I thought, something wholesome and familiar to my palette. I'd only been to the NorthBeach Pizza in SF, and the one in Berkeley was always on my list of places to try. I conveniently placed my order through their site and started reminiscing of all the great slices I've had. And then I read the yelp reviews. *obnoxious screeching record player* Uh oh. Bad, bad move. . . I knew deep down inside my little Yelper heart that I made a mistake. A few of the most disturbing notes on Yelp included, terrible delivery wait times, credit card fraud, and rude employees. Credit card fraud?! I've never read a review on and felt THIS much regret. Why did I think with my stomach and not check the reviews before ordering!? Stupid stupid stupid. Surprisingly, the delivery guy arrived in 40min, but brought hot cardboard with a few toppings. The spaghetti was the only thing that actually tasted all right, but again, my appetite had punched me in the face and was long gone. read more

why all the bad reviews?! My boyfriend and I stopped in here last night, we were going to eat elsewhere but drove past, thought it looked worth checking out and so we did. The service was friendly and fast and the pizza was great! Pepperoni, bacon, pineapple and jalapenos (we dubbed it "the heartburn"). It was loaded with toppings and the crust was delicious. We will definitly be back! read more

This place is amazing!!! It has the best margarita pizza I've had in a while not to mention I have a new born baby girl and they were very accommodating as soon as we got there!!!! They made us feel welcomed! This spot is a great place for a casual date night!!! read more

I've had North Beach years ago and it wasn't until recently my friend asked if I had it and that he wanted to try it. So we both bought a Living Social deal. We used it a few months after purchasing it, We got a large vegetarian to split within 4 people. It was a little pricey but we decided to get it anyways. It smelled delicious when we picked it up, and taste just as good. I'm a cheese lover and this pizza did right by me! Since the first time around we got the veggie to please my friend, the second time around we got a pepperoni and cheese to please me and this time dine in. Since we enjoyed it the first time around we knew what to except but to our surprise this time was even better. I don't know if it was because we dined it but it was sooo good! The only con about dining in was we waited about 20 minutes for our garlic bead as our appetizer and another 10 minutes or so for our pizza. Once the pizza came we definitely weren't disappointed. it was warm, cheese and they put the meat under the cheese so every bite you got a piece of meat with lots of cheese. Overall I would have to say that North Beach is definitely a pizzeria to try! Even though it can be pricey and you will be waiting a while, I can say its worth it! read more

Our medium vegetarian special pie had very low-quality cheese... I've had better on frozen pizzas, and it seemed like slices rather than even being grated. Very unappetizing and to charge $27+ for such stuff is ridiculous. read more

i dont care for this pizza place. the crust always is too tough for me. too chewy. i prefer softer crust. my girlfriend likes the crust and the pizza. on her night to pick out the pizza we order pizza from here. on my nights to order pizza we order from else where. we normally take out a silver dollar i keep in my pocket and i flip it and my girlfriend gets to call heads or tails. it works like a charm. if she win the toss she decides the pizza location and the kind of pizza. if I win the toss I chose the location and the kind of pizza. works out great. read more

HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE PIZZA SPOT (besides Round Table which is my favorite chain) And I agree with some other yelpers, I can't believe this place has such badish reviews because I think this place is amazing = ) I'm a customer for life, just wish there was one closer to my house. But maybe it's a good thing that it isn't to close! read more

The pizza here is something I miss eating since moving down to SoCal for college. It is next to my high school and my friends and I always used to come here every Friday after school. They are really good with accommodating large groups and have friendly, but rather slow service because everything is cooked to order. Eating here whenever I return from college is a must to reunite with high school friends over good pizza. read more

North Beach Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Berkeley, California

We get a half hawaiian/half pepper and black olives everywhere we go, and this is one of the better ones we've found in the bay. The dough is pretty doughy, so ask to have your pizza left in a few minutes longer if you want it cooked through. Lots of cheese and lots of toppings make it a good pizza in my book. read more

Probably the worst...ever. Went in and wasn't helped because a homeless man was having them fill up trash bottles with water (one at a time). Five minutes later he left, a few min after that and being talked about by the staff I was finally asked if I "needed something". When I asked for a table the waiter said "oh I'm sorry, I thought you were with him" (Me) "The homeless man?" (The waiter) "yea. Sit where ever u want" I love being told I look homeless in a restaurant. As for the food it was just as good as the first time I made pasta myself from trader joes only this time I left still really hungry from the portion size and about twenty dollars poorer. read more

Had the BBQ chicken. It was decent as far as taste goes. But the portion was medium sized for a large. And the cost is heavily expensive. 1 large bbq chicken pizza, with $5 tip and delivery was $37 total. I can have a steak dinner with drinks for that much. read more

I've ordered a few times in the past from here and the food was decent but nothing special. A few days ago we ordered from here for the first time in many months and the fisherman's wharf pizza and bolognese pasta were much better quality and full of flavor. We ordered through MyPizza. We also ordered the Appetizer combo with Calamari, Fries, BBQ Wings and Chicken Tenders. Everything was cooked perfectly. Calamari was not chewie, fries were fluffy and delicious, chicken tenders were lightly breaded and large pieces, and the bbq wings weren't too sweet and only had a nice thin layer of bbq browning. Everything was amazing. We did notice a lot of the menu was changed, reorganized and renamed so they might have changed ownership or just took the effort to get better. Definitely a nice surprise and will be ordering from here again. read more

Bad value and bad pizza. If you want decent pizza, try Arinelle's, the Cheeseboard, or Pie in the Sky (if it's still open). They're all respectable. This place tastes like pizza made by people who think that Round Table is good pizza. Hint: it's not. And to Patrick T., check out the places I recommended. Edible pizza in the Bay Area is really hard to find, but not impossible. read more

Because we live close by, we tried it. Once was enough. Never in my life had I been unable to finish a slice of pizza until I discovered North Beach. Leaden, bland, and repulsive. The whole box went to the great composter in the sky. As a previous reviewer has stated, the one good thing to come out of the experience was that it deepened our appreciation for Cheese Board and Gioia. read more

Finally tried North Beach Pizza tonight after living down the street for a year. I've never gotten coupons from them, but I have from every other pizza shop nearby. Unfortunately, every other pizza shop that delivers near me is not very good. So when I thought of NBP on a lazy Sunday and realized I could order online, I hopped on the bandwagon. My pizza arrived promptly and it was delicious. LOVED that I could order online. I will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

I eat at NBP at least once a month because their vegetarian lasagna is SO good. Be sure and get a basket of bread so you can soak up every single speck of THE most flavorful tomato sauce in the entire universe. read more

Went with a coupon. Seemed OK,but kinda a dated relic of a place with walls covered with oddities. I have never ordered a pizza that was made WITHOUT some tomato sauce, but unknowingly got one here! Check with the server first to confirm it's a pizza, not a cheese only pizza . Weirdly, my teen daughter liked it, so 4 stars. read more

Three words: CABLE CAR SPECIAL. Californiafied pizza at its best. Creamy alfredo sauce, garlic, garlic, garlic, chives, chicken, and yummy bacon sprinkled all over...this is a remarkably tasty pizza, for a great price. Decent wings, pretty good salads. I haven't had any of the pasta, however. This place is a fun pizza joint to eat at. The servers are great and attentive. It's a safe and affordable choice for some pizza-comfort food that always leaves me and my wife satisfied. read more

Took the kids here for lunch yesterday. Over the top cheezy decor, which was actually kinda fun, in a kid friendly way. We ordered a 3 topping pizza, and a pitcher of soda. Pizza was OK, not the best, really doughy in the middle of the pie. Sauce had nice spice, and toppings seemed fresh. Ice has odd chlorine taste to it... Service was fine... Not somewhere I'd drive 50 miles to eat at, but not bad if you are in town, and want a bite and have kids with you. read more

This place isn't as bad as everybody seems to make it out as. It's not a 5-star pizzeria but if you want some pizza pie without the hassle of finding parking or want a quiet dinner (since this place never seems to be packed with people), you'll find it at this North Beach location. The pizzas are pretty good. A large pizza can really feed about 4 or 5 people, depending on how hungry you are. I came here with my family and instead of getting it to go like we always do, we decided to eat inside. We came in and got a seat in one of their comfy booths. The service was okay...when you're ordering and finally get your meal. It was more of a "Here's your pizza. Want a drink? Better tell me now because I'm not gonna be coming back here to check up on you" type of thing. After getting my appetizer, pizza, and maybe one refill, I never saw my server again. That's alright, I decided to just enjoy my pizza. I recommend the Golden Gate Special if you're into pesto on top of your pizza. Plus, it was pretty delicious. One word of advice in regards to ordering a drink: never order the lemonade. It's basically just that powder stuff that you stir in a pitcher and serve at a picnic. Next time, I'm just sticking to water. read more

This is some of the worst pizza I have ever had. I have only paid for food here once and will only eat North Beach Pizza if someone else pays. I am in a situation right now where I can't pass on a free meal. Since North Beach is conveniently across the street from my job, it's my boss' first choice when it comes to treating me and my co workers to a meal. I refuse to pay for anything here out of my own pocket. The pizza here is edible and relieves my hunger. It doesn't taste disgusting, but it doesn't taste... good. It's not very appetizing when it comes to smell, taste, and appearance. But it gets the job done. If you're gonna get anything, I recommend a vegan pizza. Something's just wrong with their cheese... read more

The food was really good but , the prices are ridiculous. I got a 14 inch two topping pizza an order of Cheese ravioli pasta (Which was 8 squares) and a fried ravioli appetizer and it was 65 bucks! I could've taken my wife for a steak dinner for that price! It's a shame too because the food was pretty good. I can't afford to eat here often that is for sure. I miss the east coast for the best pizza in the world for cheap! The bay is the most expensive pizza places and 9 out of 10 of the places suck! read more

It's 9:30 PM, I just came home from work and I am hungry as hell, so I order from North Beach pizza. If I lived in New York ( Paris, Rome, London ....insert your own city here) I'd pick up something from a deli in my way home, or I'd go to a restaurant after work. I live in Berkeley. Try to find a restaurant open after 9:30, you really have to look hard. I don't know what's up with this town, it is a college town for God's Sake; people are supposed to party all night long. Anyways, North Beach's pizza stops the rumbling in my stomach at 10:00 PM, so I am glad they exist in Berkeley and I am glad they deliver. About the pizza, the crust is good, sometimes they put a bit too much cheese, but this is better than not enough. If you ask them to put extra tomato sauce they will do it, and the pizza comes moist and very tasty. They offer a variety of other foods too, not only pizza. I have had eggplant Parmigianina, baby back ribs, salads, and they all have been good. So, I eat their food once a week and so far I have not had any major disappointments. Their delivery service is fair, they take about 30 min. to deliver the food, they have never messed up my order, and as I pointed out above, they seem to read my instructions. No complains here. I have never eaten on location, so I can't comment on that, I have not seen any bugs hovering over my food, thank you previous Yelp reviewer for that image... read more

I live in an apartment building. Often the delivery guys don't bother coming up to my actual apartment despite me giving them the door code and tipping 20%. I am supper happy to say that the guy who just dropped off my pizza went above and beyond! Not only did he come all the way up to my place, he did so after I entered a semi-incorrect address! My hat goes off to the kick-ass delivery guy who just saved my lunch. P.S. The pizza was great too :-) read more

North Beach Pizza delivers!! I ordered pizza, salad and chicken wings for a team event and North Beach pizza sure delivered ... on taste, on quality, on generous portions and on TIME!! The team loved the pizza options from meat lovers to vegetarian and the chicken wings were a hit! Thank you NBP!! I'll definitely keep you in mind for the next event. read more

Oh North Beach, did you change or did I? I used to love this place. Tonight when Adam and I got a little wasted with some friends, we decided ordering pizza was the ticket. Big mistake. It took more than an hour for the pizza to be delivered, and when it arrived, it sucked. It tasted cold and gluey. It also came with some odd side choices that I don't think we ordered: some sort of cold minestrone soup (I think it was meant to be hot) and a salad with fried zucchini. Adam said: "I think the zucchini was fried last week." I had two pieces of pizza. I mean, I WAS wasted. read more

North Beach Pizza - Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Berkeley, California

We were in Berkeley coming down from Tilden Park and decided to not deal with traffic and eat here. My wife and I liked this chain decades ago and were happy to see a few of them (2?) still around. We were a party of 9 and the place was dead, which always is a bit concerning. To no avail, the service and food was excellent. We had a large 1/2 North Beach Special and 1/2 Vegetarian, a cheese pizza and a pepperoni and onion pizza. All were delicious. The cheese in the middle could have been melted a bit more but the ingredients were tasty and the crust was great. We also had a spaghetti and an order of wings. The wings were fantastic and the pasta was good. Again service was attentive and accommodating. The place was a bit dated, but the parking and bathrooms were great for Berkeley! read more

I love this place. We have only ordered the pizza here, but every single time, it has been super good! The pizza is full of toppings (which is how a pizza should be), and after 2 slices, I am full! My brother is into pizza BIG time and this is his favorite place. He can normally eat a large pizza on his own but not here! He also gets full after 2-3 slices. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because they don't deliver out to where I live which means I can only eat this when I'm in Berkeley or Oakland. read more

My husband absolutely loves this place but for the price, taste and size of the pizza I think there are some better alternatives!

I ordered pizza thru there own website. After an hour plus wait and long past the delivery time, the manager calls to ask it I ordered a pizza for delivery. He then asks if I order it thru a food delivery service. I told him twice I ordered online directly thru their website. He asks my name...then if this phone number was mine (HE JUST CALLED ME!!) and "found" my order...and it would be another hour of so....WHAT A FIGGING JOKE!!!! NEVER TRY THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT YOUR FOOD!!!!! read more

This is my go to pizza place! I love coming here the pizza is really yummy and they have so many toppings. The employees here are always super warm and friendly. I really like the homie atmosphere and decorations. Added bonus there is a parking lot, which rocks my socks. After a fantastic Lady Gaga concert, we'd worked up an appetite. Our options were getting financially reamed paying for San Francisco parking, a delightful dinner at the likes of Denny's or Carrow's, or trying our luck in Berkeley. We chose the latter. I drove to downtown Berkeley and as I pulled over to check Yelp on my iPhone, my girlfriend noticed this place. The menu has a lot of options in addition to pizza, there's a big selection of pastas and other entrees as well. But if we're at a pizza joint, we're getting pizza. So we got a create-your-own with green onions, bacon, and mushrooms. The wait wasn't terribly long, and the pizza came out piping hot and fresh. The waitress didn't bother serving us our first slice which I found odd at a sit-down pizza joint, but whatever. We both enjoyed the pizza, the crust was a bit dry but not bad at all. Toppings and cheese were added liberally. Unfortunately the service is what makes this place 3 stars instead of higher. Nobody came to check on us during our meal, and when we were ready for the check, my girlfriend had to get up and physically intercept the waitress since she was oblivious to our presence. The pizza reheated wonderfully for breakfast the next morning. :) But if the staff can actually pay attention to their customers and take some pride in their job, this place would be 4 or 5 stars. It's a pity because the pizza is fantastic. read more

Very disappointed, as I hadn't had pizza in a long time. The description of the pizza sounded good but didn't live up to it. Thick crust. Pound of cheese just thrown on top. The toppings were good and the sauce was flavorful. Not a fan. Won't return. read more

What is up with the lack of decent thin-crust pizza in Berkeley? It makes me want to cry big cheesy tears. North Beach Pizza is one of several mediocre to OK thin-crust places in Berkeley, the others being Zachary's (40 minute wait in line? meh) and Lanesplitters. The pizzas at North Beach are pretty bland. There' s nothing special about the crust or the sauce. On the plus side, service is friendly and efficient, prices are cheap, and there's always seating. They have their own parking (a rarity for this neighborhood). Good place to bring kids. I just wish they'd do something about, you know, the pizza. A decent crust and a decent sauce aren't hard or even too much to ask. Even the completely baked guys at Arinell's can put together a tastier cheese slice than North Beach. Please, someone, open a good thin-crust place in Berkeley. UPDATE - my prayers are answered. Gioia over by Monterey Market. read more
