I tried North Beach Pizza recently and I'm honestly a little obsessed. We got the Dolores Park pizza but swapped the bacon for chicken and it was SO good. It had hot honey and ricotta and I was literally obsessed with the cheese. The cheese pull was insane and the flavors worked so well together. It was so good that I didn't even feel the need to use ranch, which says a lot for me. We also got the sampler platter and I loved the calamari and the chicken wings. Everything tasted really fresh and super satisfying. We ordered the fettuccine prawns too and they were insanely good. I seriously can't stop thinking about them. The place itself is really fun too. It's super close to campus and they have a sports bar vibe with bocce ball which makes it such a cute spot to hang out with friends. I already want to go back.

It's a classic old pizza and bar place in Berkeley. Large screens for sports and events. Good variety of draft beers. Good selection of pizza with vegetarian section. Service was quick and welcoming. Pizza was OK though lots of cheese. Great atmosphere for groups and sport watching. Large area in the back for private party. Flat and wide entry for accessibility. Parking could be difficult in Shattuck, paid street parking and public parking available.

Everything was amazing! We stopped by on a random Monday night and we'll definitely be back. The decor had a vintage "old town" feel and there were a few parties already dining when we arrived. We were seated without a wait and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and recommended the wings, potato wedges, and spaghetti and meatballs. He told us that everything on the menu is good, so whatever we choose we'll enjoy and he was RIGHT. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. They were served with a housemade ketchup. The wings were also delicious and perfectly cooked, they were served with a tangy housemade sauce that was similar to ranch but better. We also had a half margherita, half veggie pizza that was really good and spaghetti and meatballs with Bolognese that was excellent. I'm very impressed with the menu selection, service and food. I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area.

North Beach Pizza in Berkeley is so underrated. I grew up on North Beach Pizza when I lived in the outer Mission. This spot moved to a more visible spot near the UCB campus. The pizza here still tastes as good as I remember. Service is wonderful and friendly. This visit we wanted to try something different on the menu, so we tried pasta and a sandwich with some appetizers (Jo Jo Fries and Brussels sprouts) and a Caprese Salad. Everything tasted great but I would prefer having the Brussels sprouts with a little more crunch and maybe the Caprese with just tomatoes Basil and fresh mozzarella but that's just my preference. Still one of my favorite pizza spots.

Growing up in SF, North Beach Pizza was a staple of my childhood, so to see one located a short walk away from where I was visiting in Berkeley, I knew I had to pick up a pie to go. After much deliberation, I decided on the SF Pizza, a clam, garlic, and red sauce topped pizza with their regular, classic crust. It was super easy to place the order in the app (download it for points), and they had our order ready a minute before pick up time! The address was super easy to locate, and I loved the set up of the pizza parlor; ample space to eat, a small nook with a comfy couch, and bocce ball. Overall, a nice spot to chill whether you're a local Berkeley student or a family. Was the pizza how I remembered it growing up? Not really--but the nostalgia still hit nonetheless. I will definitely come back and try their other combos again. The SF combo might not have been a winner, but North Beach Pizza has a nice tasty crust and dozens of other combinations (I've got my eye on you, Dolores Park and Golden Gate).

We had a wonderful time listening to live jazz music on the first Thursday of the month while eating delicious pizza! I've been to their San Francisco location and now their Berkeley location for the live music and it's always a great time. I leave there full and happy with the kind service I receive. Thanks North Beach pizza for bringing live music to the neighborhood

Yummy fresh pizza now located closer to home on Shattuck Food is made to order so nice and fresh. The service was prompt but maybe because when we got there we were the only ones in the dining room. This location is pretty big and it looks like the ambiance gets lively because they have live music sometimes. Parking can be tough but it's a walkable area so if you can walk there I recommend you do so.

Tiny cheese container next to quarter.

Update 9/7/25: Nothing changes. Picked up what was already a done barely warm pizza 5 minutes early. The cheese had solidified.

Thought I would try lasagna since their pizza is so good. Can feed 2 people for sure, it was cheesy on top w/ground beef, would have tasted better if it was layered w/a bit of cheese but still good. I'll stick to their cheesy pizza, ask for your free sliced bread n butter.

We didn't mind waiting -- new systems take time to learn. What bothered me more was the execution. We ordered identical meals -- same pasta, same salad, and a margherita pizza to share. When the food came out, my friend's pasta had mushrooms while mine didn't. After trying his, mine tasted completely bland. Then the pizza arrived and it wasn't margherita -- just plain cheese pizza that didn't taste very good. It was a slow time of day with only a few tables, so it wasn't a chaotic rush. I didn't want to hold up our plans by sending things back, but the mistakes stayed with me. The pasta had potential, and I'd still give them another chance, but they really need to focus on listening to the customer and getting the orders right.

I'm ready to take this street and head straight into the heart of Rome, or Berkeley so to speak,…read moreespecially if the food is this deliciously prepared as it is at Via Del Corso! Located in the heart of Berkeley's trendy North Shattuck business area that covers most of the northern part of the busy thoroughfare of Shattuck Avenue, Via Del Corso comes from owner Peter Chastain, a local restaurateur who made sure to save a longtime favorite local restaurant that was known as Corso, in a prine dining destination. Chastain did so by assembling an amazing team that guaranteed authentic cuisine that could be found not in just one but throughout many regions in Italy, much in part thanks to Chef de cuisine Massimo Orlando, who brings his heritage from northern Italy into all of their dishes. What brought me and two other diners here on a busy Saturday evening was the buzz that has been constant ever since they opened Via Del Corso in the summer of 2021 and we wanted to see what it was all about. Reservations on the OpenTable even a mere two days out were actually easy to make, as we arrived a few minutes late and they were still gracious enough to take our party and seat us with a view of their open kitchen, where no fewer than five chefs were cooking up a storm all evening long. The dinner menu at Via Del Corso is separated into categories including Spuntini, which are little bites; Antipasti e Insalate, which are their Appetizers and Salads; Primi Piatti or first course dishes; Piatto del Giorno or Dish of the Day; Secondi Piatti or second course dishes; Contorni or sides; and Dolchi or desserts. To start our meal we decided to order their Insalata di Polpo, which was their poached octopus served with Yukon gold potatoes, Gaeta olives, celery, sweet onions, and topped with lemon and extra virgin olive oil. Served with the perfect amount of umami and flair this starting dish was the perfect starting dish and made us eager for more of what Via Del Corso had to offer. As for the second course in our meal, we knew we wanted to share in their deliciously handcrafted pasta entrées, and it was recommended by our server Mike to order their signature pasta entrée, their Ravioli con Spungnole e Fave, which were their fresh pasta raviolis filled with sheep's milk ricotta, served with fresh morel mushrooms, fava beans and topped with Parmigiano cheese; and then we ordered a half portion of their Tagliatelle al Ragu which is their fresh egg pasta topped with Emilian meat sauce and Parmigiano Reggiano. For our main courses, we decided to split two entrées, their Petto d'Anatra con Ciliegie e Balsamico, which was their seared duck breast topped with their balsamico condimento, blistered cherries, and sautéed spinach; and their Bistecca di Manzo alla Griglia which is their Grilled Prime New York Steak served with rucola, lemon, and shaved Parmigiano. We also opted to have it served with Lardo which was a film of buttery garlic and cost an additional four dollars. The pastas would be presented to our table first and they were two of the most lovingly crafted pasta dishes we have enjoyed in some time. The real star recommended their ravioli as the were a meal unto itself with beautiful triangle shaped pouches filled with fresh cheese topped with unique mushrooms combined with an unbelievably tasty sauce. At 60 dollars our Bistecca was a wonderfully composed dish that was served with an elegantly composed arugula side dish and would have been a wonderful solo entrée to enjoy. The seared duck was a nice heavy dish that I most likely would not order a second time, as we saw the halibut being a nicely composed dish from a table far away, and nothing but good things about their signature pork chop. With a total bill of $194 for five dishes, a return visit would be a must to Via Del Corso, as we found this restaurant lively, in a good way, the service attentive, and most importantly the food prepared in a way that would make us come back for many more return visits. A neighborhood gem that everyone can enjoy!

It's a good place for a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is fast casual. When you enter, you can look at the menu and place your order. You choose your own pasta and sauce. They also have items such as sandwiches and salads. My best friend and I got the same thing--Rigatoni with Bolognese. I opted for no cheese on top. The pasta was al dente, but I definitely wish there had been a bit more sauce on the meat. The portion was decent for the price, but I do feel like I could make this at home.
