I really enjoyed the environment and service. Food however is not great or may be we didn't choose right options. Drinks: Watermelon spiritz was decent. Pineapple and ginger spiritz was good with ginger being on strong side. Food: Hummus was good but slightly on saltier side. Butternut squash was different and tasty. The biggest disappointments were main meals. My husband had vegan kofta. It pretty much tasted like soy chunks with weird texture and super dry. My plate - seafood soup was even more disappointing. I asked the server if the bowl was big enough and I was told it was massive. When the soup came, it was definitely not massive. I totally understand inflation and it's impacts to food price and I normally don't mind paying $30 for seafood soup. But this soup was not worth that much. It had so much onions (gigantic chunks) and gigantic tomatoes (pictures attached). Never had shellfish soup with so much onions and tomatoes. That was ridiculous way to fill the plate when someone paid for shellfish soup, not onion soup. Broth was so salty, my tongue felt dry after eating. Hot chocolate dessert tasted like a warm brownie. Nomad has menu items that are or influenced by Mediterranean and Latino cuisines. The ingredients and execution seem quite good. I'd personally lean heavier on the seasonings. The lamb kebab and limo saltado packed the level of flavors one would expect from a ch dishes. The service is very attentive, accommodating and professional. All the front end staff worked well overlapping each other. The location is not visible from Rosecrans as it looks a on the back at ground level of the building. The patio area has lots of glass facing the courtyard garden which lends to a nice atmosphere. Keep in mind that the glass also makes for amplifying noise. While I feel I was expecting more from Nomad, I also would consider them as a solid spot for a very pleasant dining experience with a nice drink. Cute spot. Made reservations for a Friday night at 6pm. We got seated right away near the bar. There was already a good amount of people there at that time so I definitely recommend making reservations. We ordered cocktails to start and were definitely not disappointed. I got the Machu Picchu and my husband got the Save the bees. Strong but delicious . Appetizer: mussels and clams. Full of flavor...loved dipping the bread in the wine sauce. Portion was just right for 2 people. Salad: Tuscan Kale. The vinaigrette dressing was light but a perfect pair with the dates, almonds and cheese. Mains: Chimichurri steak frites - meat was cooked perfectly and fries were absolutely addicting. The hubby ordered the Salmon Esquites. We thought we were full after the appetizer and salad but we devoured both of our dishes. Can't wait to come back again and try the other items in their menu! My husband loves their chimichurri steak. I got the hummus appetizer which I thought was super good. It has a nice heat to it and the pita is good also (made to order). However when the pita cools down it gets really hard. I also got the kale salad... best kale I've ever had. I'm going to dream about that kale for a long time. Really impressed with this place. We came for Dine LA and were so pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed every single dish. Also, the cocktails were balanced and delicious and at a great happy hour price point. The guacamole was the biggest surprise to me because most restaurants miss the mark either by adding tomatoes or not adding enough lime or salt. Nomad's was perfect! The chicken in the chicken and vegetable skewer was deliciously seasoned. The chimichurri in the steak frites was mouth-watering good (and spicy so not for mild palates). Traversing across Los Angeles for good food is my favorite hobby, so it was serendipitous to land at Nomad and we're happy we did! I love the concept: globetrotting to find great dishes that results in an adventurous, fun menu. Our group of four ordered several items to share family style. Best dish hands down was the papaya salad-- thin ribbons of papaya mixed with smoked bacon, shrimp and fish sauce. A very tasty dish (we asked for it without peanuts for an allergy issue). The scallop ceviche came as little islands of raw fish swimming in a dark green juice --nice presentation. The jumbo coconut shrimp was very good and not greasy. We gobbled up the Nomad hummus, that had nice crunch and texture. The branzino was excellent-- a mix of crispiness and tender, delicate pieces falling off the bone. We also loved the chicken skewers with baba ganoush. We finished with a decadent chocolate souffle that took 20 minutes to prepare and was well worth the wait. Drinks: cocktails are definitely worth a try and being adventurous, we paired an intriguing, delicate Cab Franc with our meal. We miss Jacksons, but Nomad fits well into the same environs and we'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes. read more

A lot of restaurants have popped up in the Manhattan Beach area these last 8 months and if you haven't been to NOMADS yet, give it a try. Whenever we go we always start out with one of their featured mixed drinks and sit in the patio area. The patio is such a nice indoor-outdoor space that it makes the evening out a bit nicer. There drinks (they rotate them) are always just fab so don't miss out on that. For pre entree, their starters and salads are good. This time we had the hummus (thumbs up!) and Ceasars. The Ceasars was good but a little on the small side especially if trying to share. One of my fav items on the menu is the chimichurri flat iron steak with fries. The combo works very well. The wife had the garlicky penne pasta with veggies and though she liked the infused garlic flavor, overall the dish left her a bit wanting. She did not that as a vegetarian there weren't a lot of entree menu choices for her. Service was very good and no parking issues especially with the movie theater still closed (bub). The eggs benedict was served without hollandaise sauce and had to request it; noted others had sauce already poured. As one of the first tables to be seated, others received their food before the 4 of us. Waited forever to request a second cappaccino (surprised they don't offer regular drip coffee). Didn't get the banana bread included on the menu. Menu had a glaring typo (shish kebob description included with the french toast description). The french toast sour dough bread was delicious. However, to add insult to injury, the strawberries for the french toast were frozen, not fresh. For the cost of the meals, thats just absurd. First off the service was impeccable from the hostess to the Owner Scott who came over to our table to greet us personally. A lovely, hidden gem with something for everyone! Ample parking but also a short stroll from the Westdrift Hotel. I'm hesitant to write this review only because it's sure to be crowded when the word gets out. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date or dinner with friends. Bonus points for the enclosed outdoor seating with heat lamps. The food is excellent and the wide selection ranges from Mexican to Mediterranean to Asian flavors. Vegans and vegetarian dishes also available. The hummus is a must try! I liked the texture of the crunchy garbanzo beans and the fluffy flat bread is a welcomed departure from the dense pita that most places serve. I suggest ordering a second flatbread. It's that good! The spaghetti bolognese is not typically something I would order but found the slight heat to be delightful. The lamb shish-ke-bob meal was filling. It came with salad, baba ganoush, tzaziki, tahini, grilled veggies and flat bread. The tiramisu was delish. No kids menu but my child enjoyed the food, especially the hummus and spaghetti bolognese. Next time I want to try their cocktails, roasted cauliflower and chocolate soufflé. Service is sincere and attentive without being intrusive. When we brought an issue to their attention, the manager quickly resolved it. Took the family to dinner after a session at nearby Topgolf. Wonderful Mediterranean food. Really liked the specialty cocktails and apps(grilled artichokes and roasted butternut squash). We ordered the crispy whole branzino (fantastic!), salmon esquites(yum!), chimichurri steak frites (eaten in a flash), Lebanese chicken (flavorful & tasty), and salmon salad (Delicious). Some dishes can be a bit spicy so be sure to ask, but we enjoyed it all. The coziest rooms are the main dining room (with fireplace) and the moody bar (with long banquette).
