I have been a client of Nifty Nails for 2 years since returning to Indianapolis from Arizona. I initially went to Nifty Nails because it was close to my home at the time. I now travel from the Avon area. I am mainly a client of Cindy but sometimes Cindy is not available so I've been serviced by other technicians the service received has always been excellent. Yesterday I went to the salon just before closing requesting a manicure and pedicure, I was told there would not be enough time for both. Ok I will get 1 service and return the next day for the other then I was told booked for the morning hours but I could not come after 2:00. Cindy checked and was to take me and completed both services. Excellent customer service understood my time constraints. The visit ended with a hug as always. Sometimes I think about a new salon closer to my home but I can't make the change because of the service that I receive always excellet. read more

I have been SO impressed by the quality of the gel manicure I had done at Nifty Nails. I've waited over a week to post this review to see how the polish would hold up. Eight days later and my nails still look so fresh! When I had my original appointment, I found the facility to be relatively well kept and the polish selection extensive. I'm giving four stars because the staff were very abrupt with greeting customers and my nail technician barely said anything to me (not even her name). The 30% off "Grand Opening Special" sign drew me in the first time and the great experience brought me back a second time! What I loved: -No wait (and both of my visits were prime-time pedi-time...aka Saturday late morning) -Super relaxing pedi chairs, and lots of them (8?) -Enormous selection of polishes and a wide range of services at all price points. -No chemical smell! -Complimentary hand scrub to use @ the sink when you go wash your hands pre-polishing. -Nice clean bathroom (I looooooove a clean bathroom!) What I'd tweak if I could: -The decor. Its clean, but it kind of looks like a Kirklands threw up in here...and I don't mean to offend the Kirklands shoppers of the world...but there are a lot of faux flowers + vases in this joint. I stopped in to get a gel mani at 1:50pm. They told me to come back at 2:30pm. I came back at 2:30pm and had to wait 20 mins before they unprofessionally waved me to sit in a chair with no tech and then waiting another 10 mins and no one came to service me. I left without service. They should have said they were booked instead of having me waste my time coming back and sitting. I could have been doing something else. If you are short handed you should have scheduled me for another day. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I'm now a gel manicure addict, and have been to probably 20 different salons on the northside of Indy. This one by far is my favorite for several reasons. 1) You see the technician actually open the packet of sterilized tools, 2) I usually get three coats of color polish (versus two at other salons), 3) The attention to detail is amazing! Amongst others, these are my top reasons for a 5 star rating. I never have to request a certain tech. here because their work is equally fabulous, across the board. It was my first visit and Vickie did an awesome job! I've recently switched from acrylics to powder dip and, while I'm still not sure I love it, she did take the time to explain the differences between the types! She also made sure I had a slightly heavy coat, so I won't have to worry about them cracking (which was a problem). I've already made my next appointment with her! This is my current fav spot in Indy for a gel manicure! I am pretty rough on my nails and I've never been able to actually keep my gel on for two weeks...until Nifty! I always walk in and have never experienced a long wait and their prices are very typical. My only complaint is that more than once my cuticles have bled because they didn't soak enough before the manicure began. Still, I recommend this place to my friends all the time! read more

I decided to pay however I will not return. The pedicure experience was great. I got the milk and honey pedicure ($45). The young lady asked me how did i want my eyebrows, even waxed the top of one and asked was it ok. I replied yes. My eyebrows now have no shape. Even asking her to fix them. My toenail polish is peeling not smudged. Some polish was on my skin as well so as normal once dry i lightly pulled and off came some of the polish. The people were nice but no thank you. read more

I had only heard positive things about this salon, but unfortunately, I was let down by my experience. I was seated and catered to right away, and the experience was quick, which does deserve 2 stars. However, I asked for an almond/oval shape, and my nail tech made them square. Even when I asked multiple times to re-shape, and showed pictures of the shape I wanted, about half of my nails ended up being different shapes. I also did not receive a hand massage/lotion, and the end result of my nails had bumps under the gel and uneven nail shapes. I am disappointed, as I had many referrals to Nifty Nails and had high hopes for my appointment. read more

I've come here for several years. I had to stop coming because I became extremely busy with my own business. So most of the time I wasn't able to make a nail appointment. It's best to have an appointment these days if you want a particular person working on you. With all of that being said I'm pleased with their work and they keep the place very clean. They work well with children. I've brought my children for services. When I got married 3years ago I brought my bridal party. They were able to accommodate everyone. This has become my go-to nail place. Its location is really convenient and there's always plenty of parking. It's not fancy, but it's clean and reasonably priced. There's some inconsistency between staff, some are good, some are great, but I haven't had anyone who has done a poor job. I love the pedicure chairs here, they seem new and have great massage options, and I appreciate that the staff uses a plastic bag in the foot tub. Kids are out of school so I took the girls out to the salon. One of them said Nifty Nails was good so we called ahead and scheduled an appointment for the 4 of us. IT COST $300 before tip! $75 each for a gel manicure and a BASIC pedicure!!! HOLY COW! They don't have their prices anywhere inside, so it's my fault I should of asked before but seriously that's outrageous!! You can go to ANY other salon and get gel manicure and A BASIC pedicure for $50 MAYBE $60!!? So AFTER she gave me a pedicure and I told her at the beginning I wanted my toes to match my nails....come to find out they don't have the GEL color to match for my nails! So I told her I wanted each nail a different shade of pink... ombré BECAUSE YOU DONT HAVE THE COLOR TO MATCH MY TOES! She says okay that's AN EXTRA $5 to paint each nail a different color? That's a "design" so that's EXTRA! And if you want ONE nail painted.. "party nail" THATS EXTRA TOO!! Everything was "extra" and it was already costing $75... for $75 I should of got a big glass of wine with a head and back massage! The salon was full, maybe because it was one of the only salons open at the time because of the pandemic going on. Everyone I talked to in there it was their first time there, so clearly it's not a place with loyal customers. The male technician that does fake nails and dip is extremely rude. He hurts my nails when he does them and got up and walked away saying "he can't do this" because I told him he was hurting me. He left me there with foil still on one hand and walked away. So I got up and left and went over to OPI to have my nails finished. AWFUL SERVICE. do not go there. Also making a reservation is unnecessary because I have still had to wait 30-60 min when I had a time reserved. If I could give zero stars I would. They also bully you into getting dip nails. I came in with dip on my nails and wanted to get it removed to get a full set. He would not stop trying to convince we to get dip again. I had to battle with the male technician many times saying I did not want dip. He seemed very annoyed that I was making him do more work by giving me a full set. This place is the worst. read more

I've been coming to Nifty Nails consistently (every ~2 weeks for the past 2 years) and it is by far the best salon I've been to in the area. I've been to a couple other salons in the area, and each time I go somewhere else, I am reminded why Nifty Nails is (and will always be) my go to. It's about a 20 minute drive from where I am now, but is well worth it. First, they have plenty of nail techs working each day and I feel comfortable walking in without an appointment as I trust they will all do great work. As others have mentioned, yes Vicky and Nancy are AMAZING but usually are booked and I sincerely cannot complain about any other techs work. Second, the location itself is very well kept and clean. The tools they use are cleaned after each service and they always use new items (straight from a bag) to prove they are fresh! They accept tips via credit card. May seem minor to some, but I never have cash and there are plenty of salons that have stopped allowing tips on credit cards. Also, the location is typically great for walk-ins. If you come on a weekend or after 5PM on some weeknights there may a wait, but you can always call ahead and see how long the current wait is. Last, and most important, they will listen to you if you are not happy!! I've read reviews on here that are shocking to me about people that get home and are unhappy with their service. I have smudged polish while I'm there or disliked the shape of my nails and they are more than happy to fix it for me. Do I tip a little extra as a thank you? Of course! But I urge the people on here that are not happy with the service to speak up while you're there. read more

When regulars came in (after us), they tried to rush me and my mom out, so they could get to their regular customers, which especially is rude when we had appointments scheduled. This little salon was a treat yesterday! Very accommodating, friendly, and spoke fluent English. It is clean, well decorated, inviting, intimate and the chairs are comfortable, have a great massage feature and the women gave us a "tour" of the menu as well as showed us how to use the chair. It was all a very polar opposite experience we had just received at the Little Nail Shop less than 2 miles away. I was very impressed with my service and it was right in line with what all other salons charge. We got the cucumber pedi and I just love the nearly full leg massage with hot towels and fabulously smelling lotion. They offer OPI color choices and my toes and feet felt brand new! They allowed my friend and I to talk (we were discussing important business - hehehe) and then hang out in the relaxation chairs for almost an hour AFTER the service was over. They didn't rush the pedis OR the payment process eventually coming over when they realized that we were wrapping up our conversation. It was truly a great place to connect with a new friend, get my toes dipped in a soothing bath full of floral scents and blue bath beads, and enjoy an afternoon. Far and away a great salon. This is the pedicure place I just keep going back to. They are busy, but take reservations. I have found that sometimes I don't get in at the time of my appointment, but they put me in a chair before walk ins. They are professional and pleasant, have loads of OPI colors from which to choose and a huge menu of options. And they don't use those illegal razor things, they have a tool that looks like a cheese grater for all of those calluses. Disgusting, yes...effective, absolutely. The prices are extremely fair -- I think $28 for a pedicure is a great price and it comes with a small leg/foot massage. read more

I will drive 20 minutes out of my way to get my nails done here. They give the best mani-pedis in Indy at a great price in my opinion. The salon is big, clean and the staff are very friendly. Usually I have trouble finding places that the gel polish actually stays on for two weeks and that they paint your whole nail, not just 3/4 of it. They do both impeccably. I told them this was my first time getting my nails done so I kinda had no idea what I was talking about and the gal whisked me away and off we went. I asked for artificial nails/french tip that were required for a wedding I am in this weekend and she went off and did gel french tip. They look very good but it wasn't what I asked for and because I don't know the process I had no idea she was doing the wrong thing until she was halfway done. At the end of the mani I had to remind her I also needed a pedi as she started to check me out. The guy who did my pedi was quick and efficient. Love this place! I had an appointment for a bridal party on a Friday, and they were very accommodating. They were fully staffed and were able to do all of our nails at the same time. We all had mani pedis and were done within an hour and a half. We also all loved how our nails looked. read more

What a find!!! Nifty Nails isn't in my normal stomping grounds but boy am I glad I was up in the Nora area yesterday when I decided, what the heck, may as well treat myself with a mani/pedi. Being a walk in was no problem, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I did have to sit in the pedicure chair with my feet soaking for a while before a technician came, but no harm done, that's one of my favorite parts. The girl who did my service was very friendly and really took her time. The foot scrub was AMAZING. I was also really impressed by their polish - 90% OPI with every color imaginable. The price point was a little bit higher than I am used to paying at my normal salon but in a pinch, I'd pay it again. If ever in the Nora area again, I will definitely stop in. read more

I went in after 4 days of getting nails done to show that all had chipped. I wanted to reschedule. Was turned away. I would think as a business they would want to know that something could potentially be wrong with a product of theirs but wouldn't even talk to me to see the issue. I appreciate the fact that this place is close, clean n generally they do a great job on my nails n feet(some are better than others), but my pet peeve is when people don't value your time. Consistently I will schedule a reservation and my mani or pedi will start 45 min to an hour AFTER. (Sticking my feet in water during that time doesn't count!). The worst part is that, they won't tell you they are going to be that late on honoring your reservation and it is to late for you to leave because your feet are in water pruning up or your nails are wrapped. read more
