I went a few years ago and had a less than satisfactory experience, just wanted gel polish , nothing else thought I'd try again. The first tech seemed to be starting out OK and halfway through decided to add another customer and switched me to someone else who actually happen to be the same lady I went to two years ago that did such a crummy job.! who would figure?? again all I was having is gel polish she didn't push my cuticles up, so there was polish all over the cuticles which means it's not going to last. I came with my two friends and we waited like 15 minutes for one to be seen and 15 more for me and the other friend. On top of that I asked for medium long nails with almond shape and i walked out with short nails that were oval. Furthermore I asked for a light green and the color looks like I had white nails that yellowed in the sun. It was extremely tense in there as well. Additionally my friends nails are all different shapes and lengths and also not the color she asked for, she asked for blue and in the picture below you will notice they look more white than blue. My toes were in desperate need of a fresh polish so I decided to try out another local salon. I found they had a booking system via their website so I signed up on my lunch hour. When I arrived there was a lady behind the counter (mask beneath her chin) that promptly greeted me and asked if she could help me. She immediately told me to pick out a color and then showed me to a pedicure chair. She was polite, conversational, and sincere. She did put her mask on over her mouth, but her nose was still uncovered. During my visit she did answer the salon phone (which is understandable) but mid pedicure she heard her cell phone ringing from within a drawer in her manicure station which she got up to answer and then proceeded outside to take the call. When she came back in she did apologize so I am assuming it was important and life happens. The important thing to me was that she was so darn nice and I got a great pedicure! The only downside is the salon isn't as fancy as other near by salons, and that their service is about $10 more with an apples to apples comparison. read more

So this was my first time stopping in - the sign said open, it was 9am but the lady who apparently had an appointment, was very loudly irritated about having to wait for her manicurist to arrive - but we were not seen until 9:30. The lady who was waiting, her manicurist arrived and another lady who had an appointment walked in and was immediately taken care of (No biggie, I was a walk in). The manicurist who was originally by herself when I first arrived, seemed to be overwhelmed by the morning rushing, that started to come in while I finally got in the chair- asking customers "what you want?" - I thought that was a bit rude. Ann came in and took care of my gel fill, she even shaped my nails how I wanted them. She was very kind and even shared stories about her family and background. How do you like my nails? I feel like they could have been cleaned up a little more but I dig them! MINK LASHES****** On Tuesday December 8, 2020, I went to someone else to have them do a fill in for my mink lashes instead of going to Mylee at Tips and Toes. Mylee is the owner of Tips and Toes and she was doing my lashes for about 6- 8 months every 3 weeks prior to December 8th. Before Mylee, I was going to a lady that worked for her at her spa called Allure Day Spa At 2605 Keystone Ave. for about 4 months who was good. Mylee was out of state in Kentucky this day however, and I had an event coming up and couldn't wait. I scheduled an appointment with a reputable lady who had great reviews, a license, and clientele that were in my circle of friends. She agreed to see me, and do my mink lashes. It wasn't until I arrived that day and she looked at my lashes and said "Oh God". When she said that I was a bit uneasy, but she explained it in detail. What she advised me is that someone had literally CUT my lashes at the base, and I probably couldn't tell because when minks are applied the lash techs tape the eyelids in such a way that you cannot see until the procedure is completed. I honestly didn't believe her until I had to sit with the eyelash remover serum on my lashes longer than the normal person would have to according to her because most were glued to my actual eyelid skin. Then after about 35 minutes or so it was all revealed. She showed me how my eyelids were red and irritated, my OWN lashes were straight cut across at the root, and now there were no lashes to adhere the new mink lashes to. I was still flabbergasted, but at the same time instantly depressed. I looked as if I were sick, and the more and more I looked in the mirror I felt betrayed, and hurt. She advised me since there weren't any lashes to adhere minks to that she could allow me to purchase some lashes that are magnetic until my lashes start to grow back after applying serums and oils to my eyelids. Since I work as a model for promotions for various companies including my own, I knew immediately that I couldn't be the face of any promotions for a while and would be losing money until my natural lashes grew back at least half way or full. I understand that when you wear false or mink lashes they may take out a few lashes here and there, but mine were actually cut and there was nothing that I could do about it. After my visit with the new lash tech, I went home sobbing uncontrollably. My boyfriend wanted to see me and I wouldn't even open the bathroom door for an hour. When I did come out my 7 year old son was even laughing at me asking what happened to my face, and then proceeded to tell me that I looked funny. This just made me want to stay in my room and not come out. I only wore the magnetic lashes for about a week due to the lashes not fitting the curvature of my eyelid good, and the eyeliner was burning since the lashes Mylee put on stripped some of my eyelid skin off in certain parts. The same day this was exposed to me I immediately contacted Mylee to see if this was true and why? She explained to me that she did indeed cut my lashes at the base of the eyelash and would place the false lashes in their place. She also stated that she does this for all her clients! She advised me via text messages which I have, that she never uses the recommended remover that is intended for mink lash removal because it has chemicals in it. She says that "it is healthier to cut the lashes out then apply another lash where it was". She also stated that " She cut the growth out of it, then reattaches the new one with where it had grown". Mylee reached out to me a couple times that same week saying that she is sorry, and to come in and she will make me pretty again and put on more lashes, but I told her no I have no lashes and I don't want them applied to my skin any longer. At this point I no longer trusted her either. I'm writing this to advise people who do get mink lashes or any lashes where your eyes are taped shut, to please be aware of the the services that are being performed while you are blindly trusting those around you. read more

Every experience I have had here was fairly poor. I usually get a full set of acrylics when getting nails done and they just cannot get it right. My experiences have all been at the Nora location, so I don't know how the Glendale location is in comparison. Every time I get acrylics here, the color chips off, the nails break, they're very weak, they destroy my natural nails, and the workers do not really listen to what I ask for in regards to shape, length, or designs. They also have very poor time management at this location, I am always waiting at least 15 minutes even if workers are free. If I ask if they have time for a full set of acrylics before a certain time period and they say yes, I expect them to actually fulfill that request. If they know they are too busy and do not have time, they should tell me that instead of making me run very late or rushing through the whole process. Their utensils are not very sanitary, they just wipe them off on a towel and they still have nail residue left from the last customer. I am a really laid back customer and try not to be difficult, but if I ask for a specific length or cut or style I assume they should do it if they can. Also they remove acrylic nails by using another acrylic nail base and scraping and picking it off --this is terrible and should never happen!!! They should be soaked or drilled off. When I asked for them to soak it off rather than scraping it off they blew me off and used the nail anyways. Save yourself some disappointment and go to Ooh La La nails just down the road by keystone fashion mall (near McAllister's and Kohl's). They are honestly 100 times better, no matter which worker you get!! read more

Came in towards the end of the day so it was empty. There was three worker in the salon. It took over an hour to get a basic fill in on my nails. Two nails had to be redone (one was already off and the other they took off and I still had to pay for it). I am unhappy with how long it took to get a basic fill in. Then the lady doing my nails was clammy and sweaty( gross) I literally had to wipe my hands on a towel every time she touched my hands. I don't want sweaty hands touching mine. To put the cherry on top, one of the nails they redid is about to come off and I just got them done three days ago. There's a reason why they're empty because this salon is horrible. I wouldn't mind that the floor is dirty, but I noticed the tools she was using on me were not sterilized (or didn't appear to even be sanitized--just sitting in a cup). They were also very busy on the Wednesday evening that my friend and I went most recently, and I felt very rushed and like she didn't do as good a job as usual. Firstly they were rude from the moment I walked in. The nail tech that I had was rude and not gentle at all. Never a hello or a goodbye or anything. She listened to nothing I said or wanted. I've been trying to grow my nails out. She asked if I wanted them cut down and I told her no. She asked what shape I wanted as well. Let's just say she completely cut my nails all of the way down and shaped them completely opposite of what I asked for and when I asked for them to be fixed she had a whole attitude about it. Aggressive with my hands the whole time. Also I am day 3 since getting my nails done and more than half of them are chipped. I get gel. They should last at least a week and a half. Not three days. Not only this she was extremely rude to my daughter and started disciplining her. All because she stood next to me to watch me get my nails done. She was doing nothing wrong at all. Yelled at her for moving her chair while she was readjusting in her seat. She was completely out of the way just watching. If you have an issue with a customers child talk to the parent..not the child. I thought when you're the customer paying for the service you typically would get what you want as long as you are paying for what you get. Especially when you are paying $25 for a gel change and charging an extra $4 to paint some stuff on my old polish and drill it off. Not with this lady. She did what she wanted and did not care what you wanted. Not only that she was on her phone the entire time. Little does she know I understood what she was saying. Shouldn't talk crap about a customer in front of their face. You never know who speaks what languages. I will never go back here again. I'm not sure if they are all ran the same but the Tips & Toes in Glendale has disappointed time and again. The guy rushed through my mani and pedi not even filing my nails until asked and getting the (shellac) color wrong 10 times, not even massaging my hands or feet or applying any lotion, cut my finger til it bled with cuticle clippers and put my foot in scolding hot water. Then asked me to hurry and pay because I was keeping him late. Like a dummy I went back and the lady added sparkles to my shellac nails and THEN asked me if I wanted it. It was too late to say no because she would have had to start all over. Hopefully the one on 86th does a better job than the one off of keystone. read more

I have been to Nora and Glendale; both are terrible! In Glendale the lady was very rude and talked LOUD on the phone the entire time she was doing my nails! The pedi was terrible! There was an argument between another employee and customer going on because the customer was questioning the job. The lady that did my nails insisted a tip! I said HECK no! Agree with the comments about the Glendale location. I try so hard tosupport the tenants in Glendale and so appreciate their business, however my toes were cut and the women did not even notice until the bleeding wouldn't stop. I got a terrible manicure and pedicure at this place yesterday. The manicure polish was falling off my nails this morning. The "person" who did my nails spent a total of about 25 minutes on me. Barely touched my cuticles, barely filed my nails. It was pathetic. She didn't even put a base coat on my nails, just one coat of polish and that was it. When I tried to talk to her she apparently spoke little or no English. She was JUST AWFUL! I spent a chunk of change for NOTHING.
