I'm so happy I know about this place now. I love having a spot to get a great wax, and this is it. Ariane is so friendly, knowledgeable, and good at what she does. I can tell she is very passionate and really tries to make the best experience. She did a great job answering all my questions, providing me with valuable information. I loved the setup of the private room, it gave a cool and relaxing vibe. The music was a nice touch. They have decent hours Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday. They offer individual waxing prices or memberships. You can call to make an appointment or do it online, it was very simple. I needed to cancel my original appointment that I booked online, so I called and they made it very easy to change it. I love how they have designated parking spots too. They have items for sale. Here's the deal. I have seen advertisements for Waxing the City before but wasn't really interested in trying out a franchise place. Then I checked Yelp and was blown away by the reviews. I thought "could this place really live up to this hype?" and let me tell you, what, my readers. I was blown away. Setting up an appointment online was very simple and I was able to get in same day. For COVID protocols you park in front and call to let them know you're there and they check you in on the phone. Then they call when they are ready for you. I was greeted warmly and brought back to my room quickly. Everything was clean and uncluttered. Adrienne was awesome. She explained to me what she was doing and asked good questions. Customer service was great. Was greeted and attended very well To begin with you have to wait outside and check in on the app or call the place to let them now you're outside. They are only taking my appointment that's what I was told when I called. I made an appointment for a nose wax since I hadn't had one in like 4 months. Moreover I was serviced by Sam which she was great very friendly and made me feel comfortable. I always get a little nervous when I get my nose waxed for some reason. In addition I thought it was going to hurt but she was very careful with everything so it didn't hurt as much. Also she cleaned around my nose after and before the wax as well. Waxing the City is my go to and I never thought to write a review until I just left another salon due to no openings at Waxing the City. Waxing the City will remain my go to! I feel like they are more dignified when your bits and pieces are on full display which I appreciate and would def recommend for anyone who is really shy or a first timer. They leave the room while you undress and give you a paper "blanket" which helps feel a little less exposed. Also, the positions they put you in are a little more comfortable. The cerologists (aestheticians) use different types of wax, depending on the service you receive. I love that they don't go by a "one size fits all" approach, but really work to customize the service for each patron. My cerologist, Sam, is an absolute delight to work with! She makes her clients very comfortable, and is quite skilled at her craft. She is quite gentle, finishes the service quickly, also offers after-care tips. Before our vacation I booked a Brazilian wax. I was pretty terrified, but my friend had gotten one somewhere else and said it wasn't really as bad as you would think. So I called and got an appointment pretty easily. I was excited to take advantage of the 50% off my first wax. I was super nervous and had done a ton of research online about what to do and no to do and when was best and apparently don't drink much caffeine and there's certain cycle days to not go. And it wasn't that bad! The girl I had was awesome. Her name escapes me. I gave my paperwork to my friend. But she made me feel right at home and was super great and put me totally at ease. I loved the tip sheet I got. My friend who went somewhere else hadn't heard of any of the things I mentioned to her that were on the sheet. I thought that helped me a lot. I also took advantage of the holiday sale on Spongellé and bought a giftcard that came with extra. I now forget the deal. I only heard it as I was waiting on my ride and they told someone else. I do wish they gave paper receipts not just emailed ones. I am glad I checked since my emailed was not put in correctly so I hadn't gotten my receipts. 2 words: Hard. Wax. Seriously, y'all. I get my brows waxed on the regular and have been to 20+ different places to do so over the years. I *always* come out red, itchy, swollen, and irritated -- making sure I have my huge sunglasses to cover my face for a good while afterwards. Folks, let me tell you -- Waxing the City has been a TOTALLY different experience for me -- for the better! The difference is that Waxing the City uses a special wax from Spain that dries hard and doesn't need to be ripped off with fabric strips like soft wax does. The hard wax was so much more gentle, nearly painless, and when I looked in the mirror, I wasn't red or swollen! AT ALL! Like you could not even tell that I had my brows, lip, AND chin done! WOW! To top off the positive experience, Carly always does an amazing job...she is so sweet and thorough. She is quick yet professional and very easy to have a conversation with. Highly recommend! Also, Nicole the owner was visible, professional, and informative. She explained that her staff all goes through extensive training to ensure they are providing the best experience. It was great to get to hear about her business model and you can tell she is passionate about the business. So cool. So yes. My first visit was great minus the receptionist, it seemed as though I was bothering her by trying to get a wax. This would have been a five star review if not for.... I presecheduled a wax the recommended time out. When I arrived at 2:45 I was informed that my waxer was out... again not a HUGE problem, but why didn't anyone call or text me? The real problem was the lady at the desk was beyond unapologetic, didn't seem to care that I drove 30 minutes for a wax. Then claimed that they texted me but they didn't. I have been here once before and while I had a good experience the first time (main reason for giving above one star) but after my second interaction with Waxing the City I was incredibly annoyed. I have been trying to be cautious on what I am doing right now, obviously given the pandemic we are currently in, so when I woke up the day of my appointment and not feeling well, I decided to call and let them know I was not feeling well and needed to reschedule. I attempted to spare any details because 1 gross and 2 WE ARE LIVING IN A PANDEMIC. I really did not feel this would be something to challenge right now if a client says they are not feeling well you put the safety of your staff and other clients above a late cancelation in a pandemic. Don't get me wrong I understand the inconvenience and I apologized, but I'm not going anywhere if I don't feel well right now or really ever. The woman on the phone did not even respond to me for a good 60 seconds at least when I told her I was not feeling well and unfortunately needed to reschedule. She then just asked my name again and with an attitude responded, "you know we have a 24 hour cancellation policy?" My only response to her was "even right now, while we are living through Covid?" She then decided to continue with the attitude and ask if I'm "actually experiencing symptoms." So I got to tell her how I've been sick, which again just felt so unprofessional and unnecessary. All in all, definitely would not recommend coming here and I am certain I will not be coming back. read more

Went because my normal person was booked( Try Feel Better Naked company....BEST IN THE CITY) Took my friend for her first Brazilian ...I regret it. We had two different people and got poor service. Both had hair in places very plain to the eye. My person didn't try to hold conversation. Her person did. They position your legs incorrectly preventing all areas from being taken care of. My lady also got wax on my clitoris....TALK ABOUT PAINFULLLLLLLL They didn't provide her after care instructions etc...just over all poor service and poor quality of work. Save your money.
