Candy at Allure in Nora is a true artist. He was so talented and thorough. He took his work very seriously and provided excellent customer service. I got a mani-pedi with the collagen mask. He was patient and thorough on the calf massage and helped me pick the perfect color for my toes. And OMG my manicure turned out PERFECT. I cannot emphasis enough how obsessed I am with this set. I showed him a pic on Pinterest for the general theme (lemons ), and he was perfect. Very attentive and kind. I've been looking for someone to do this kind of design for years. The price was fair, and the whole mani-pedi service was about 2 hours, including an eyebrow wax. I think their business could use some attention as far as organizing equipment and redesigning their wax space - they could completely change the interior design to maximize the experience. I came back one day on a whim about three weeks later for another manicure and pedicure. the man who did my nails the first time wasn't there, but I asked if they could had availability for a manicure and a pedicure and they said they did. I was directed to have a seat, and the gentleman that greeted me started removing my dip polish. He was very polite and conversational. Once one of the ladies became available I was taken over to her station. He also brought over the color chips for me to choose from. She continued to remove my polish, and then immediately started reapplying the base coats of the dip polish. As she was removing my dip polish with the rotary tool she was working very rapidly, and broke the end of one of my nails off with the tool. I pointed it out and was told that she would fix it later. I asked her about pushing back my cuticles or trimming, and she said no that I didn't need it. She continued on with the dip color, and I tried again asking about my cuticles with the same response. She continued with the color, and with it being a somewhat light color I noticed some spots where the coverage wasn't as good and she re-dipped four of my nails but not all of them (?). She fixed my one nail by filing it much shorter than the other nails on my hand. She then put some oil on my cuticles and was done. At this point I was perplexed that a request for a manicure was met with just a polish change, and two requests to address my cuticles were ignored, and she broke my nail and left me with one stubby on my hand. As my cuticles were not pushed back, some of the gel top coat was on my cuticles, and started to chip off as it wore off my cuticles and my nails have grown out leaving some rough spots that I have had to deal with. I was then taken to another lady for a pedicure. While I was having my nails done, I saw that another customer had come in and was waiting. After I was taken over for a pedicure she started working on her nails. The pedicure was nice, although rather expedient but much longer than my polish change. I asked to pay my bill while my toes were drying and I was charged for a full manicure. I asked why when I only got a polish change, and was told dip $50. So I was required to pay full price for less services. So after reflecting on this for a week.... - My first experience here was far superior to my second. I would gladly go back to the fist gentleman who did my nails. - I would prefer if they didn't have enough time to complete a manicure, to let me know and we could schedule when they had enough time to do it. - While my first dip manicure lasted three weeks, this one is looking more like a one week or two weeker. - I am disappointed that I asked for a manicure and got only a polish change and paid for a manicure. All in all they are very nice people, who may have just been trying to work me in, and did a very fast job that may have not been their best work. read more

I made an appointment on a Friday a 5:15 with Terri for the Dip Powder. This was my first time getting the dip powder. I'm more of an overlay gal. My appointment time - I arrived a few mins before and she took me right in time. Cleanliness - just as good as any other shop I've been too. I did observe that the use clear bags in their pedicure bowls so your feet aren't touching the actual bowl which I like. My nails - so the dip powder....I LOVE IT! I get to keep my nails short and I don't have to worry about the damage that comes with acrylic. To me dip powder is a step about the gel manicure...your nails have a hard protectant on them so you don't have to worry about them breaking like you would on a gel manicure. This was my 2 visit last time time I opted for dip on my nails & got the deluxe pedicure with polish. I had a French manicure. Terri did a great job it lasted 3 weeks. This time I chose gel & again a French manicure with polish on my toes. They are so conscious of your comfort.. Is water too hot? .. Is nail length ok? The pedicure area has great massage chairs & I noticed how conscientious they are about cleaning the tools & pedicure bowl. They put a plastic wrap in it & remove after each client. Thank you, Yelpers! I was in serious need of a good mani/pedi this past weekend as I had a wedding to attend. New to the Nora area, I hopped on yelp to find a quality salon. Lucky for me, Allure is within walking distance of my new apartment, since it's basically off the Monon Trail. I showed up around 11 am on a Saturday and straight away realized the place is popular. There was a wedding party getting their toes done, and two birthday parties for tweens getting their first manicures, among a bunch of other people. Unsure if I had the time to wait for all these people to finish, I inquired how long the wait would be as I signed in. A hostess of sorts told me the wait wouldn't be too long. About 2 minutes later I was whisked away to get my French manicure! The young woman (Rachael) was lovely and did a great job. All around me new patrons walked in and were welcomed by name by the Allure staff. Clearly this place has a loyal clientele. I then got my French pedicure, also by Rachael. She and another staff member talked about an upcoming Buddhist holiday that was being celebrated at some temple downtown...and I hopped right into the conversation. They were super friendly and offered great conversation while my feet got beautiful. I love learning about new cultures, and they were super cool about it. It's not a DEAL BREAKER, but... I do not enjoy patronizing nail salons/restaurants/massage parlors where the staff speak in another language the whole time, isolating me from the conversation. I blame Seinfeld...Elaine gets paranoid that the nail salon is talking about her so she gets George's dad to see if they are... Anyway, Allure was NOT like that!! I felt totally welcome by everyone in the salon, and despite the fact that people were waiting in the seating area, I never felt rushed. A first for me on both counts. Another patron told me I was lucky to get in without an appointment and I definately believe her based on the foot trafic (get it?!). A little more $$ than other salons but worth it! I just got back from Allure for a Mani/pedi with Lisa. The cost was $41 plus tip. The salon was busy, so I'm glad I called ahead. Pros: didn't have to wait to get in. My feet and legs are really soft now. Cons: the massage was okay- she could have spent more time on my calves instead of the front of my legs. One of my cuticles started bleeding- was cut too short. The salon didn't allow tips on credit cards and did not have change for a $20. After 24 hours, 6 of my nails had chipped. I went back to the salon 36 hours later, and they told me that they did not guarantee natural polish and that I should have gotten gels. I told her that my nails do not usually chip after 1 day, and she said that I could pay $25 extra to get gels. When I told her I would not do that, she said they would fix the nails that were chipped with the same color. I asked to have a polish change (with the same color), and they said that was extra. Another technician started to redo three of my nails. When I pointed out that I could see the top of each of my nails, the technician did a complete polish change and told me she would do that once but next time she would charge me. I told her that I do my nails at home and they last longer. She said I should just do my nails at home next time. I will not go back read more

Allure is my go-to stop for a quick and affordable mani. It's between my office and home and they have usually been able to accommodate my walk-in nature (I fly by the seat of my pants and have no time to make appointments!). They get 4 stars because: Sometimes I feel that the quick mani is, well, too quick. They ALWAYS try to upsell me on the gel and those take much longer and are more expensive. I'm a gal who does dishes, works in the garden, etc. and I've no time for gel manis that won't last the full 2 weeks. **IMPORTANT: You can't leave a tip on your credit card, so bring cash-ola. read more

Allure, a place where they know your name, well, my mom's atleast. Not surprising considering how often she gets her nails done. We used to go to O.P Nails across the street all the time, but eventually my mom made the transfer over to Allure and I followed suit this winter break. Allure is quite small but very clean. There were a lot of technicians there, apparently they are all sisters and the mother also works there. Everything was pretty standard, but I did take note that they massage your legs and hands just a little bit longer than some other places. That is a plus for me! Massage chairs-CHECK, good polish selection-CHECK. The only downside is that their mani/pedi combo is $41. I can get the same deal in Chicago for way less, at many many nail salons. The technician only applied one layer on the polish on my fingernails which I thought was strange, usually it's 2. I went here the other day with my bridesmaids, mom, future mother-in-law, and my sister-in-law to get our nails done for the wedding. The service was great and my manicure was the best one I've ever had. They took an appointment for all of our party and were just running a little late. My mother-in-law was about 10 minutes behind everyone else. All in all, I would give five stars--except that French tips, a callous remover, and a pedicure ran me $78. !!! I may just be used to Lafayette prices but that seemed extravagant to me. The recommendation to carpool is a good one--the parking lot is pretty small... My mommy has been going to Terri for her pedicures for years now; so when I realized I had a chipped nail and was overdue for a gel manicure while home for the holidays, naturally, I decided to try this shop...beyond happy I did! I called on Saturday (before Christmas) around 6:15 pm and asked if I arrived by 6:45 pm did they have time for a gel mani, she said sure, come on in. I got there right at 6:45 pm and I was greeted and seated immediately. They were friendly and once they realized who my mom was, they raved about her and how they'd heard all about me. Warm and clean environment and very reasonably priced! Lighting is also a plus, as it is adequate but not too bright (I get migraines). Just got done with my gel manicure there, less than average. They charged me $55 for a gel manicure, and I also had to repair 3 nails. When I went to pay, he didn't show me the screen with a total price, and went straight to the tip, btw the only options on there are: no tip, 20%, and 30%, no 10% or 15% like all other places have, pretty sneaky! So when I looked at my receipt it was $66. I asked them how come you charged me $55 for a gel and 3 acrylic nails I had to repair, when your price list clearly says gel manicure and full set $45? Apparently it also had "$45 and up" there, so I asked them how to repair 3 nails can be "up" from a full set? So then they told me I have a special shape..... which actually costs $20, I have no idea what so special about my shape is, it's pretty basic, and yes when you go to get your nails done you kind of expect them to get shaped as well.. she insisted that they actually undercharged me $10 for my shape... seriously???? I don't mind to pay for a good service in a good salon, the place is less than average, the 3 acrylic nails he did are pretty sick, he didn't even asked me if I want to have a 3rd coat, even though the color I chose clearly had more coverage! He just went straight to the top coat, then said nothing and left rushing to another customer, some other guy came and finished me up! This is not a $66 dolor gel manicure service! What a rip off!!! The comment about my shape being special really made me feel, they think I am in idiot and threw my completely off! They only provide a one-day guarantee is what I was told when I called to get them repaired. Dip powder sets from other salons have never been a problem for me before. The staff at Allure is the most competent I have encountered anywhere in Indy and can typically do what the podiatrist does - gently and pain free. Decent nail salon. I had been coming here for a while because their prices were more affordable compared to a lot of the other nail salons around, but I think they've gotten more expensive. I paid $67 tonight for a gel manicure and a pedicure with callus removal. Not too bad but not too good either. The people on here are very friendly and they take their time and do a good job, but they have to learn to strike some kind of a balance on that.
