I had a really great experience at Zen Nails, I LOVE my nails!! They were friendly and attentive to my requests.

I don't know what happened today. I have been here plenty of times and I wasn't treated as such. I booked a manicure online with Tommy at 11:30am on Friday. I called after realizing I wanted to add a pedicure. They asked me to come in early at 10am and I agreed. I got my pedicure done and issues didn't start until the nail tech couldn't paint a tiny red heart on my big toe after 3 attempts . I said, no worries, I'll go without. I was ok with just the plain polish on just my toes. I got finished at 11:18am and noticed Tommy was having someone else sit in his chair. Confused I spoke up and showed my confirmation. She said oh must've been some mix up or confusion. After 15 minutes of waiting she offered me the man that couldn't paint a heart of my feet to then do my nails, I quickly said no, he can't do the style I want. She said don't worry, I will step in when it's time. Because it was getting late, I agreed. After about 6 minutes I said, you are aware I'm getting gel extensions right? The lady then informed me didn't know how. So I had to sit about 15 minutes. A nice older lady tried to help but she struggled. I have large bubbles under majority of my nails and they're sore. Because of this, the polish is blotchy. The lady who was rude from the beginning stepped in when it was time for the design and she couldn't do a simple heart either. So I said never mind, it's ok. I'll go without. I was then told I was being difficult which confused me because I'm a paying customer. I asked for her to do one final wipe down on my nails before a lot of lent from their towels was stuck to it. She quickly said no, you get what you asked for. I said hey, I love this place, I'm not trying to be rude. I just want them wiped down. So she finished up. Before I left I turned around and said. All of this could've been avoided if Tommy was doing my nails like I requested online. Tommy then waved at me and I left. I hate this because he really is the best. Whoever the young lady is running the schedule is quite rude. I don't know if I'm going to return. read more

Located right next to the Vogue theatre off College Ave, you can find this hidden gem of a nail spa. Upon arrival, I was offered a beverage, had a little issue with checking-in for my last minute/walk-in appointment because they have an issue with their wifi connection. Also I needed gel removal and a new gel manicure full set. The gel removal was a little unorthodox for me, my only draw back was my male nail tech filed my nail too rough and it was a little painful. He made up for that with a decent hand reflexology massage upon completion of my manicure. I chose a color for ushering in autumn, it's called Sweet Yam. The staff was pleasant, and attentive. They are not great with their time management. I always make an appt and 97% I'm waiting at least 15 mins past my start time for my appt to begin. Its pretty frustrating. Today I came in ten minutes early for my appt. Didn't get seen until 20 mins after my start time. No one ever apologized. This time I came in because I was unable to go to my normal place. If you want a specific tech after making your online appt you are to text them and confirm with the name of the tech you wanted. I did that yet still got someone else when I showed up. I feel if they were more organized with time management and scheduling techs I would come here much more often. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a pedicure, and they took me right on time. There was a huge selection of colors. The pedicure felt a bit rushed, although all the components of the service were completed. The staff is friendly and it's nice that they have parking behind the building. read more

I took my friend here to get her nails done on a Saturday because, unbeknownst to her, her boyfriend planned to propose to her later that day. My friend and I walked in and were able to get started within 10-15 minutes around 11 am. My nail tech was Selina, she did an excellent and efficient job with my acrylic tips. The shape is really pretty and even, and the polish and design turned out well too. I didn't catch the name of the tech who did my friend's nails but she was also pleased with how hers turned out. They looked sooo good in the pictures from the proposal. She did *not* get acrylics, but we both got something called "cat-eye" which I think is a gel??? I don't really know what I am talking about but both our nails turned out great, and our techs were really nice. Place was comfortable, clean, and played 2010s bangers while we were there. This is my third time coming to get a regular nail polish basic pedicure. The young lady who did my toes was great! She really looked like she knew what she was doing. The massage was OK but I expected that you know cause of the "basic". I was really enjoying the massage chair ... I just needed it. The young lady didn't chat much but I appreciated it because it was busy and I was just there to relax. Then, it gets a little crowded, she asks if I want to dry or stay in the chair and I took her up on the offer on staying in the chair, I was enjoying it! Couldn't have been more than 5 minutes, the man starts attending a woman next to me, and then HE taps my nail polish?!!?! To me it felt like, "okay get out of here now". I felt kind of uncomfortable and awkward staying there after that. I stayed for about a couple minutes, and then left. It just felt weird to me that he, who wasn't even attending me, went to touch my newly painted nails. Feels like the last time coming in for me. read more

I responded with "manicure" and was told something which I didn't understand, when I asked to repeat the answer, it was louder, but thankfully another customer explained that I needed to go to the other entrance to pick out my polish. I went but was obviously confused since it was not clear which polish was which, gel, dip, etc. I left with 5 fingers bleeding and a rough dip acrylic experience. Not very zen at all. read more

I really wanted to give this place another try as they said they'd prioritize my appointment next time. Sadly same situation happened but worse. I made a 2 pm appointment for a gel manicure. Got there promptly at 2 and was told they needed 5 minutes. Sadly the 5 minutes took 45+ minutes. Then I got started and my nail tech took a break to soak off someone else. I was there for 2 hours for a mani. The mani itself was also not fabulous. The initial color I picked wasn't available so I picked a different one but there wasn't a lot of polish left so the nail tech's coats were spotty and my final product had bumps. Not worth $40. Hoping this place gets their scheduling more organized. read more

It is very rare for me to leave 1 star reviews, but I did not have a pleasant experience at this nail salon. Let's start off with the positive-- About a week ago, I reached out for a same day appointment for a pedicure, and Andrea kindly messaged me and worked with me to find a time that worked best. She was very sweet and accommodating. 5 star customer service from Andrea! However, the moment I came in the stars began to dwindle one by one. I am not sure who did my pedicure, but it was a very poor job. This salon offered the cheapest basic pedicure ($35) out of all the places I researched, but I think it's true you get what you pay for. The nail tech kept asking me if I wanted an upgrade, when I kept saying no, it seemed that she no longer cared about the quality of the pedicure. A basic pedicure should at least come with a decent foot scrub. She scrubbed my heels and soles twice then called it a day. It was a joke. You might as well have not scrubbed at all! (-1 star) She then went on to paint my toenails. It was not done smoothly. You could visibly see where the brush had stroked against the nails and there were SO many bubbles in the polish. (-1 star) I timed the entire pedicure and it took ~20 minutes. I could admire a quick, efficient pedicure, but this was far from efficient. It was more rushed than anything. I was then brought to a chair where I could dry my polish. Once I sat down, I was forgotten. I sat there for 40 minutes and not one single person came to check in on me and ask how I was doing. I wasn't even sure when I was supposed to get up. The nail tech just told me to "sit here" and never again was I spoken to. (-1 star) When I finally put my regular flip flops back on and walked to the register, I waited for my nail tech to come up so I could pay. She asked me to add a tip and I did, but then she looked annoyed at the amount that I left her. I tip well when the service is good, but in this case I didn't even think a tip was deserved, yet I still left one. If you provide poor service, you should not expect a stellar tip. (-1 star) This place only seems to care about you if you upgrade to their more expensive packages. If I knew this was the service and quality I'd be getting, I would've rather splurged $60 to get a BASIC pedicure elsewhere. Please ensure your staff treats all customers equally whether they are spending $35 or $100. We are trying to support your business, but instead you are losing potential regulars in the process. I will not be returning and I do not recommend this salon. read more

The first time I went to Zen nails lounge it was a great experience and my gel manicure lasted two weeks without chipping. I just went a couple weeks ago and the lady doing my nails was cleaning the salon in between throughout my manicure. For example she had me wash my hands and then was gone for 5 mins. She was rushing the nail curing time throughout each coat. Then within hours, later that night multiple nails were already chipped. She also didn't grab the color I originally asked for. It was similar to a color I did in the past so I kept it, but it seemed like she was all over the place the whole time. Don't know if I will go back. read more

I'm split on this review. There were good things, and then there will things that worried me. To start, I called around 11:30 am on Monday to schedule an appointment. I was unaware they didn't open until 12p, but they still took my call and allowed me to make a last-minute appointment at 12:15. They seem to fill up quick, so I would make an appointment ahead of time. Once I got there, I was able to pick my color and get started immediately which is always a bonus! Overall, the vibes of the place were a little different - there was no music and none of the techs were talking to guests. Not a huge deal, but makes it a bit uncomfortable to sit in silence with a bunch of people. I came in with an old gel set and a few nails that I tried to take off myself, so I was expecting to have to do an entire new set but they worked with me and allowed me to just get a fill and a few new acrylics. That was much appreciated! My only one and really big complaint is that it did not feel very clean. All the other nail techs were wearing gloves, cleaning their tools, etc., but the nail tech doing my nails used old, already-used paper towels and tools that were clearly not clean, and did not clean the tools after use on me. Just concerns me when they're digging and cutting around cuticles, etc. read more

I would love to be able to provide feedback on my nails but I can't even do that because the customer service prior was terrible. I arrived at 1:45pm and asked if someone was available to do a fill. I was told to come back at 2:45pm and I could be worked on. I received a follow up call and text saying to come back at 2:45pm. I confirmed the text message immediately. When I arrived at 2:45pm, there was no one to do my nails. I waited and was told someone would be available at 3:00pm. At 3:00pm, no one was available. I waited until 3:20pm and still was not serviced. The woman asked me to wait even longer to which I politely declined. Why schedule an appointment if you will not see people at that time? It was very disrespectful and inconsiderate. I understand the walk-ins cannot be seen immediately but just communicate that. In theory, I waited from 1:45pm to 3:20pm with no service when they simply could have said they were unavailable that day. Left a very bad taste for this new customer. read more

Great nail salon in Broad Ripple located on college next to the Vogue. Unlike other big fancy nail salons, Zen is a smaller salon with a with a well organized space. The salon is rectangular with a waiting area in the front and one long side of the rectangle had the hand/finger work station and the other had the pedicure chairs. I came on a Sunday afternoon after marathon in the Appalachian Mountains and a long 6 hour drive home...my feet hurt from the run and a pedicure and massage was just what my feet needed. I made an appointment online arrived 10 min earlyand was asked to wash my hands. After washing my hands I was offered a drink while picking out my color. The service was relaxing. One because my pedicurist didn't force any conversations nor did she converse with someone else. I think because the shop wasn't too busy the lady doing my nails was able to take her time. I don't think she understood when I said I ran a marathon but nevertheless she really made me feel relaxed and rubbed the soreness out of my muscles. I definitely would return..small but definitely an enjoyable experience. read more

I have been here a few times and had pretty good service except for this last time. The lady was in a rush to do my nails and was distracted with her phone for the duration of my appt. I wasn't bothered by it until I told her I wanted clear polish and she proceeded to put pink which I told her it was ok but once she started putting the French tip I HATED the pink undertone. The orange clashed with the pink undertone and I simply didn't like it. She then told me it's too late when it would have taken less than 5 minutes to take off and put the clear like I initially requested. I was so thankful when Zen Nail Lounge was able to book me in for a next-day appointment. It's the holidays, so I know everyone is super busy right now. I had one of the last appointments of the day, and I'm sure everyone was really tired, but my nail technician didn't say a word to me except asking what color and shape I wanted. The color on my nails seemed a little different than the color I chose, but oh well! She did a great job on my nails and they look beautiful. I've seen this place offer great safety precautions over this past year and they even have a bowl of masks up front. When I checked out, my nail technician also gave me a free holiday gift, which was super sweet. Thank you! Parking note: I parked in the parking garage across the street and neither ticketing machine worked. I did not like how the machines were tucked in the hallway, as it was dark and there was no one around. A woman walking down the stairs eventually told me that the barrier to get out of the garage wasn't working either, so she recommended not paying the ticket and instead pushing the help button when leaving the garage. I did that and the barrier was lifted for me, but it was an entire ordeal thinking I was trapped in there. However, I just discovered from these reviews that there are a few parking spots behind Zen Nail Lounge, so I'd definitely recommend parking there instead! read more

We had a nice conversation, she was really warm and welcoming and made sure I was well taken care of. I've been to this salon 6 times for a dip manicure with takeoff. Like most of the reviews, it's a hit or miss. I definitely recommend trying this place out & if you're lucky enough -- I hope you get Lua. Pros: - They are organized in that they mostly require appointments but sometimes they will accept walk-ins. - They have a variety of colors to choose from in both regular, gel & dip polish. - They are very accommodating for when you have 2+ people in your party. - All the technicians that I've had were very meticulous with working with my nails. They would ensure that the shape and length is even on both hands. - Background music is great. A lot of sing along classics. - Parking is easy! There's a lot adjacent to their salon. There's only three rows of free parking otherwise the other larger lot is pay to park. Cons: - They're often very busy so expect to be at the salon for an extra 30mins - Sometimes they forget to offer you a beverage and for me it's happened all 6 times. Just feels awkward when the person next to you is offered something to drink. - Don't expect to have full-on conversations with your nail tech and bring a fully charged phone. Otherwise you'll be like me trying to make conversation and it's not really being reciprocated. Suggestions: - Request the nail tech you're interested in when you confirm your appointment - Have a color or design in hand to speed up the process All things considered, this was still my go-to. It took a long time for her to complete (2 hours) but I understand these things. However within the next day my nails started peeling off and chipping. Like totally separating and peeling off my nail. Getting caught on everything within 2 days. It hasn't even been one week and all but 4 of my nails have completely peeled off (though every nail is chipped or peeled). I've never had something like this happen before. read more

I have been a regular client here for over a year now (I can't believe I haven't written a review yet!) and I never go anywhere else. The high quality of service, attention to detail, and kind staff are why I continue to return. I recommend scheduling an appointment. While they do take walk-ins, the appointment is the way to go. That ensures they have the proper amount of staff on hand. I very rarely wait longer than 10 minutes. I have had a service from every staff member and I have absolutely no complaints. There is an array of polish, gel, and dip powders to choose from. The salon is always clean. And a beverage (soda, water or wine!) is offered during your service. Was pretty bummed with my recent experience here. First of all, they contacted me less than an hour before my appointment asking to reschedule it for later that day, which I agreed to. Regardless, I waited over an hour for my nails to be worked on once I arrived. Don't come here unless you have all day to wait around, I was at the salon for over 3 hours for a basic pedicure and dip manicure (and I had an appointment)... I got a french dip manicure, which I thought would be pretty straightforward. As you can kind of see in the photos, there was a lot of weird texture and bubbles on my nails. From a distance they looked okay, but even my sisters commented on how bad they looked and that they shouldn't have bubbles and texture. The nail tech also did not pay any attention to my cuticles whatsoever. As I write this 2 weeks later, nearly all of my nails have chipped or broken. Usually when I get a dip manicure elsewhere, it can last 4 weeks without even chipping. Considering the price point, I am super disappointed and would not spend my money here again. read more

My previous two visits, I opted for the dip w/William but I broke three nails (my nails) so I decided to get them cut and to start over. So I decided on no chip gel and I scheduled my appointment w/William but when I arrived, Xio (Zia) assisted me instead. I got a fall wine color and man oh man are my nails fragile, so I am going to have to be very careful for the next week! Nonetheless, she took her time, cleaned my cuticles up and used lotion to help massage, she also advised me to try to use gloves when cleaning around the house, in order to keep the polish from chipping, which I think is redundant since it's 'no chip' polish but I guess she meant for them to last longer than 2 weeks. I visited Zen Nail Lounge for the first time this past weekend. I needed a last-minute nail appointment and my previous salon wasn't giving me the results I wanted. I have a few friends that are regulars at Zen, so I took their word for it and searched for a new nail tech. It was a bit difficult at first to schedule with this salon because they have an online scheduling portal. However, once you make an account it is super easy to book! I can't emphasize enough how last minute this appointment was and I was very thankful to get in on such short notice. I booked the last time slot of the evening, about 30 minutes before the appointment time, and ran over there. I wish I had a before photo of my nails because they were quite rough. The nail tech, I didn't catch his name (I believe he is the owner), did a wonderful job transforming my nails from drags to riches. Overall, my experience was very pleasant and comfortable. My nail color and shape ended up beautiful. I was given the choice of a beverage (of course I chose wine) which made my experience even more enjoyable! When it comes to COIVD concerns, the salon space is a bit tight but the techs I saw were very compliant with masks and social distancing restrictions. It was still a comfortable environment to be in despite the recent pandemic concerns. Go visit Zen!!! read more

Zen Nails is a great spot if you are looking for a quick nail fix. It was easy to sign up online for a spot in the near future. The prices are cheap and the quality was okay. My nails chipped after a week (normally they last 2.5-3 weeks without chipping.) while the atmosphere was very "zen" they were playing old 80s rock music. I didn't mind it just didn't go with the vibe. read more
