I live in downtown Indianapolis and this is definitely worth driving up to Broad Ripple. I will say I'm a very no frills nail person-- Gel on the fingernails, regular polish on the toenails, nails cut short for work. I appreciate their efficiency and ease at making appointments (I've never had trouble making appointments but as some reviews state, calling ahead is better than walk ins). I also never feel awkward in terms of small talk-- they usually don't chat that much, which is fine with me. First & foremost the vibe is awful, when you walk in, the person who greets you seems annoyed that you actually want a pedicure, imagine that! No smile, no welcome, the reason I actually came to ICE is because I was given a gift certificate close to a year ago. I was here sometime last year and had the exact experience. Not to mention, staff talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese while working with clients. I feel it is very rude intentionally knowing the client does not understand. No one cracks a smile until one of the colleagues say something that apparently is worth a smile and a laugh. This is NOT a friendly salon and will not be back! I am pretty happy with my last 2 visits to Ice Nails. This place can get a little busy so I would definitely suggest calling and scheduling an appointment. They do take walk ins you may just have to wait a bit. Staff may take a bit to greet you but it is only because everyone is probably working. They are welcoming and do a good job of taking care of customers. I have been getting normal polish on my toes and gell on my nails. My biggest dissatisfaction is sloppy polish/overcoat application, especially from this most recent visit. The polish started cracking off of my toenails the very next day! My sister and I had been on the hunt for a nail salon near our homes with good ratings and decent prices....who would also accept walk-ins (as our schedules have prevented us both from having the ability to schedule this ahead of time). After reading many reviews and calling several salons, Ice Nails was the first place to tell us that they were accepting walk-ins and that there was no wait on a Wednesday evening just a couple hours prior to closing. We arrived to this beautiful, clean establishment at 6pm and enjoyed a very thorough and relaxing pedicure. We both opted for the upgraded pedicure, which was $45 rather than $30, so we're not sure what the standard service entails, but our service had multiple steps. There were multiple moisturizers, a salt scrub, hot stones and warm towels. The massage chairs are very nice with endless options and the place was virtually empty. My sister and I relaxed, caught up and enjoyed ourselves and I almost didn't want to tell you guys about it! We will definitely be returning when we need another girls' day! read more

My friend had told me this spot was great and more affordable than other salons in the area. I called on a Sunday morning to see if they could get me in that afternoon for a pedicure and they had a spot at 1:30. All staff is wearing masks which i appreciate and they have clear screens between you and the tech as well. I asked if they had different pedicures and was told I could pick between normal and deluxe so I went with the deluxe. There are a few scents to choose from and I loved the lavender scent that I went with. The pedicure itself was great. I loved that it didn't seem like the tech was rushing at all- got such great massages. At the end they even used two hot stones which I loved. I'll be back for sure. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they don't seem to offer any drinks here, different then other salons I go to, but they were cheaper. Then at the end a different person painted my nails and when she was done she just walked over to turn on the light at the crying station and didn't say anything else. read more

Great service in that regard! The pedicure included two massages and hot stones! For my manicure, I got dip with a nail tip. My manicurist was very detail oriented and my nails look amazing! I love this place! They take very good care of their customers. The service is well above par. I came here for a pedicure, walk in with jacked feet, walk out like Cinderella. Update: In my last review, I shared my experiences of being overcharged by this salon. I was hesitant to return after Lan said I could come back and get $10 off my next service. I thought for sure they'd just bump up the original prices of the services to recover the discounted amount. I was wrong. I received excellent nail services on that day, and Lan told me the exact cost of my pedicure and gel fill in before taking off the $10. Thank you for taking my concerns seriously and doing the right thing. I do still think Ice Nails could improve some of its practices. For instance, they used to have a menu in the shop that displayed the costs of each service, but I haven't seen it in the last few years (I have been a client for 3). I do not know a business that does not advertise its prices. Transparency in pricing is crucial, so I believe they should create a new menu that shows all the prices. Prices for every service have increased by a few dollars recently, and this can be confusing for long-time customers. Until they do advertise prices, be sure to ask about the cost of your services prior to your appointment. If you are overcharged, be sure that they explain why. I also dislike that we are charged for nail removal prior to getting a full set. This would make sense if they were following the proper routine of soaking your nails with remover. Instead, every time I get my nails removed, they're just pulled off. This is painful for me, unhealthy for my nails, and takes less than 3 minutes for them to do, so it is incredibly unfair to get charged for this. If you are going in with old nails, I recommend you remove them yourself prior to the appointment. This will save you money, pain and time. Otherwise, Ice Nails does good work. Admittedly, the people aren't always friendly, and there can be a wait time even when you schedule an appointment. What's most important for me is to receive equitable treatment and pricing for good service. As long as I don't have any more questionable experiences, I will return until I find a better salon. I just got a gel manicure here for the first time and will definitely be back! I only came because my usually nail techs or salons were booked but I'm so glad I came! They accept walk-ins but I called beforehand to make sure they could get me in since it was late on a Friday evening. Covid procedures They had covid procedures including requiring you sanitize hands before looking for nail colors. And the waiting chairs had signs signifying which ones were available to use. Experience The place felt calm and serene. They have a lot of nail colors to choose from and they are all on rings against the wall so you can easily sort through. Lan did my nails and she took her time to make sure my cuticles were cleaned and my polish was extra neat. She also was really nice, down to earth and had good customer service. LOVED my experience here!! I made an appointment on Christmas Eve and when I got there they were very busy. I was worried about time, but I only waited for about 15 minutes until they started on me. The salon was very clean and all the staff were very professional. The massage chairs were great and the lady who worked on me had magic hands. I almost fell completely asleep in my chair. Love this nail salon! I have visited plenty around my 'hood, but this place by far is my new fav. Owner previously worked at another local nail salon; he and his wife are experienced and very talented. In addition, this salon is clean and they do use autoclave sanitized tools, as well as plastic liners in their pedi-tubs. Another plus: they have a bonus program in which you get a stamp at every visit, and after you've collected enough you get a discount (sorry, I don't remember what that is but will update at my next visit!). I don't regularly get my nails done but I've been in this place enough times to recommend it. You can call and get an appointment or try to walk-in. Each time I called for an appointment and they did turn away some walk-ins depending on how busy it was. I've had 3 different people do my nails. All were great. The pedicure massage chairs are amazing. I even got my fiance to come try it out and get his feet cleaned up prior to our wedding. I lured him in with the fact that the massage chairs were great. I've done gel and regular manicures. Each time they are accommodating in the little flair I asked for. Happy with the outcome! read more

Ice Nails experience was horrible for me-well, mostly because the pedicure went fine. Not great but fine. When it came time for manicure, the young lady attending to me didn't get what I needed-mostly because she didn't understand English well. I kept telling her that I needed nail extensions. All the while she responded in "yes" and "okay". After she got done with the initial manicure ( and had ended up clipping and filing my nails all the way), she started to put the base coat on my nails. I asked mail extensions again. She still didn't get it, but by that time the owner was there too. He totally put their mess up on me and said that " I didn't understand" ! This place was gorgeous. Do not let the exterior fool you! I went here with my sister who was in town for a visit. They didn't sit us together so we could chat which was really a disappointment (they had a tech available to do both of our pedicures). The color selection was phenomenal. I will definitely put this place on my list for pedicures. My gel polish chipped and peeled the very next day so I'm not a certain about going back for a manicure though. Decided to go back for another try (color selection so just so nice for the colors I like) made an appointment which started on time. But when it was time for the mani (took an hour on my feet) they had taken someone else. They usually are super booked on Fridays and Saturdays but I got lucky and they fit me in right away! There was a huge wall of polishes to choose from, mostly DND and some OPI colors (both of which are great). I regretfully didn't catch my manicurist's name but he did a great job-precise and detailed. They use new tools for each person which is important for sanitary reasons. I think it's the best manicure I've had and it still looks great day 2! He repeatedly told me it will last two weeks, and I'm hopeful! My gel manicure was $33 which was comparable in price to others I've gotten. Overall very satisfied and I will be back! read more

Really bummed out by my experience here. Was recommended to try here by a friend for the prices, but the customer service was a major bummer. Even though I had an appointment, I didn't get much direction besides being told to sit and wait. After I was seen, I've never had someone who was completely uninterested in making conversation. I tried to ask if they did the glazed donut "Hailey Bieber" look, and she just looked super confused. Even after showing pictures, she said she couldn't do it, but couldn't exactly explain why or what equipment or what she lacked. I just asked for dip with tip, and I only gave one extra star because she shaped my nails perfectly, but ONLY from the top. I was initially pleased, but once I got a closer look, I realized these nails had more valleys and dips than the Grand Canyon. You can tell in the pictures that the dip application is not even at all and looked like I got my nails shut in a car door. Seeing how they treat walk ins, I didn't bother stopping back to ask them to fix it. She didn't bother asking if I even liked it at the end anyways. Super disappointing since this place is close to me and I would've loved to make a regular. read more
