Polish and one other nail salon in Carmel are my go-to places for a manicure or pedicure. I heard good reviews of this place and swung in on a whim.. I've been back multiple times since. Both manicures and pedicures aren't overpriced here, which is starting to be the case at a lot of other places I've gone to. Everyone I've come in contact with that works here has been very nice and they always get me in for an appointment even at the last minute. I always come here when I visit my parents from college, and they always do a good job. today however, the nail tech who did my gel acrylic fill was not up to the standard they normally have. he scoffed at my nails, drilling them until they burnt even after I said it was hurting, ripped off acrylics that were perfectly fine, and cut a chunk out of my pinky with the drill. not sure what was different about today. read more

I booked a last minute appointment here when my engagement pictures got rescheduled last minute and I needed them done. Most places in town didn't have appointments, but they did, which should've been a sign. I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to get my nails done. During the 30 minutes, no one really even acknowledged that I was there and there were only 2-3 other people getting their nails done. If I wasn't desperate, I would've left. The person doing them didn't seem like he had done nails before. His hands were very shaky and multiple nails ended up having air bubbles. The outlines weren't crisp at all and had a splattered look to them. While they were okay enough to get the job done for my engagement pictures. We did avoid ring pictures and anything too up close because it was that noticeable. I wouldn't recommend as there are so many other places that are wonderful to get beautiful and more affordable services. read more

They filed the skin off my toe for my pedicure and didn't use proper tools they'd use at other salons. Exfoliated my legs so hard that the warm towel was burning. They also mixed up my color and gave me a translucent color instead of the color I asked for. The lady doing my nails could tell I was confused why the color wasn't showing up and did not mention that there had been a mix up until being almost completely done with my nails. She offered to put a few more coats on in attempt to get some color out, but it did not work. You can't even tell I have a pedicure right now. $66 down the drain. read more

I waited like 15 minutes which is okay , but I felt that like I was a burden to them because I was being rushed and mistreated. The nails were not what I asked and she left them very thick and didn't do the tip like in the picture I showed her. I had a gel manicure done here and was unsatisfied. The color required more than two coats in order to have full coverage. The nail technician only painted two coats so the coverage was uneven. Additionally, she didn't paint all the way to the edges of my nails. The manicure part of it was super short. She trimmed and filed my nails, but didn't treat my cuticles at all. So my coworker came here for a routine Full set of nails . Day one after her nail service her middle finger became really swollen . As the day progressed she was unable to move her ring finger nor her middle finger .By the end of the week she was hospitalized and rushed to surgery, as it turns out her cuticle was cut and a bacteria got into her hand and had to be surgically drained..... She had to stay in the hospital for 4 days and the shop agreed to pay her hospital bills ... Which means they are admitting fault ... Beware of the unsanitary equipment that these shops are using ... The chemical smell from the products they use was so strong, I couldn't wait to leave! So unhealthy!! Definitely not going back!! Not sure how they are allowed to stay open w that strong of a smell. I never want to be the customer who comes in minutes before closing which is why a friend and I called ahead to make sure this salon could fit us in. When we arrived, the salon seemed pretty busy, yet we weren't turned away. Instead, I was left to soak my feet for a long time, not really knowing if I had been forgotten or was just being ignored. My friend was able to get a pedicure and a manicure before they even got to me. I was rushed and didn't even get to relax. I don't even know how the lady cut my toenails, but they hurt afterwards. As for my friend, her manicure was also rushed and her gel nails were bumpy. Her nail polish selection had glitter, but the application of the polish was unprofessional and not worth the price. I will say that the color of my toenails turned out nice. But not worth the $40 I paid. My fiend and I are never coming back to this place. read more

This is the only nail salon I will go to. I only get my toenails done. Never polished but trimmed and my feet rubbed during the pedicure. They are the friendliest of people, very efficient, and it is so relaxing and clean. I drive 30-45 minutes from downtown Indy because I have not found a better place to go. Great modern salon on Carmel. I love the interior color palette of this place. It's in gray and white which makes this place very chic. The set-up of the chairs are good and does not feel crowded. They have a great selection of nail polish including gel colors which I normally go for. You'll definitely be pampered with their pedicure services. Unfortunately, I'm a little less than impressed with Polish nail. While I've been trying to find another salon to go to, I've visited this one twice. While I've enjoyed the experiences overall, I have encountered a few issues. Mostly with the nail polish. The first time, I got my toes painted and it was rather messily done. I ended up being quite unhappy and ended up re-painting them myself the next day. Also, when I got my gel nails done that I was told would last weeks, it started peeling after only a few days. I am careful about my nails and make sure to avoid things that will hinder their longevity. There is no reason that I should have my gel manicure begin to peel after only a few days of wear. I really want to give this l place a chance and plan to go back as I live the location and know that the issues I've encountered can be fixed. read more

My feet were a legit hot mess. I'm talking caveman. Eww. I wanted to treat myself prior to a girls night out and swung by after work for a pedicure. I made a 5pm appointment on Friday and was taken back immediately. The salon is very chic and up to date. Everything was clean and well maintained. The nail tools came from a sealed pack which was a relief. I've been to other salons were you had no idea if they were clean or not. I think the tech was a bit disappointed when I didn't want to upgrade though. Being a gal on a budget, let's be real. I'm not paying $50 for a pedicure which is what she kept pointing to on their menu. They do have an excellent menu of services and upgrades, I'm just cheap! The actual service was great, an hour long, no rushing through. The basic service included your normal pedi with an exfoliating scrub, massage, lotion and hot towel. She spent extra time on my gnarly calluses, which was great. A few days later, the polish still looks nice and shiny. They carry Essie which I adore, along with OPI. I did see an extensive selection of gel shades as well. The reason for the three stars is the massive language barrier. Now I expect that to some extent, but the tech I don't think understood a word I was saying. I was trying to add a tip and she had no idea how much I was asking for. I could barely get out of her that I needed to pay her and not someone else. SO! All in all, great service, just be prepared for some hand gestures and other means of communication. read more

My daughter and I came here for pedicures and her a mani and a full set for me. 1. The lady who did my pedi almost got kicked in the face. While my feet were on the rest, toes pointing up, she pushed down on the top of my feet with her body weight. I'm sorry, ankles don't bend that way and it hurt. Besides for that, it was honestly the worst pedi I have ever had. Then we got to my nails... I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said ok. I told her I didn't want acrylics but I did want gel. She gave me acrylics and charged the gel price... My nails looked like I did them myself and were extremely bumpy, with a sloppy polish job. About a week later the white parts were turning brown? My daughter enjoyed her pedi. I told them to put gel polish on her nails and 3 people asked me several times "gel polish?" Yes, yes, YES! her polish lasted a whole 4 days. I do her polish at home (I bought the light and we have quite the gel polish collection going on) and it always last 2 weeks. I spent a grand total of about $160... Unfortunately because they are awful and apparently like to almost break feet, we will not be returning. read more

I went in to get my nails fixed because the last salon I went to just did a terrible job, see La Vie review. The technicians were great. Didn't try to con me into buying more expensive treatments. They gave me what I wanted. What was great too is they gave me the length I wanted, as I work a hospital job they can't be very long, and didn't argue with me like the last salon who said they COULDN'T do that at all. Went to have a much needed pedicure this morning. I did not go to my usual place because the roads were blocked with detours. So I went through the parking lot of Kroger on Rangeline Road and happened to see a nail salon that I've always wanted to try, so in I go! So the name of the nail salon is Polish. The decor inside is very pretty. I didn't have a wait because I went first thing in the morning - LOL it was serious business! After walking in I was met by a woman who simply refused to smile at me as I smiled and said hello to her, she simply said can I help you? And I proceeded to answer her with one word - pedicure. A very nice lady named Mary came to escort me back and took care of me. She made sure The water temperature was correct and proceeded to perform the pedicure. She brought out a nice tray of supplies for the pedicure, it was all arranged very pretty and inviting. Mary proceeded to give me one of the best pedicures that I have ever had. The thing is that I am a bit of germaphobe as well as Jessica K. - and I have to agree with Jessica K., They do not clean the pedicure bowls out properly from one client to the next. When I noticed it I was shocked. But I had already finished my pedicure I usually bring a little bottle of germicide with me to put into the water and always ask their permission. But I did not this time. And this is the time that I needed it the most :(. It is unfortunate that they do not follow proper sanitation protocol. They are a nice looking salon and could probably be very busy but I'm sure we are not the only two that has noticed this. I do not enjoy giving our local businesses a bad review or even a half bad review but I think maybe that's why we are all here? To be honest and let people know what's going on? I had a mani pedi done. And the pedicure was absolutely amazing. The woman who did it was nice and very efficient and it felt and looked amazing afterwards. The manicure on the other hand. I had acrylic nails put on and this lady was absolutely awful. She didn't push back my nail beds or cuticles and after she put the powder on she left my nails looking very thick and extremely fake looking. I asked for thinner nails and she made an irritated sound and barely sanded it down. Leaving it still uncomfortably thick. The nails are very uncomfortable to the point of pain on my fingers.. id just suggest not going to the lady with the short dark hair. The rest of the place was amazing. read more
