I was hoping this would become my new nail spot since it's so close to my new house. Today I went in for a full set to remove some green paint that had seeped under my acrylic nails. The tech gasped after seeing the green on my nails the spoke to another tech and said nothing to me. She pried my nails off with a tip. After flinching several times due to the pain, I asked her if she could soak them. She ignored my request and continued to try to pry them off. She put a tip over the green nails and told me she couldn't get it off because it wasn't paint, it was mold. In front of another customer she said she would have to throw away her tools after my service. I pulled up a photo of my green bathroom and she said she had been in the business for 20 years and she knew when she saw mold. I was so embarrassed. After I chose a pale yellow she asked me why I chose that color then complained that she would have to do several coats. This was my third poor experience here after getting cut during my pedicure. I wanted to come in to treat myself to a pedicure and my feet were looking ruff. So I came to my standard spot that I have been coming to for years. It's near my house, and always clean. I was promptly helped when I came in and asked for a pedicure. I picked out my color and headed back towards the chairs. I asked if I could soak for a little while and the man that was helping me told me no very abruptly, "she has to do your nails as soon as she is ready". Wow! Not much for customer service when they aren't even that busy, only three out of the ten chairs were being used. I have been coming here for years and an extra five minutes has never been a problem. Oh well. The lady that did my nails did a nice job, and it was still relaxing except for the timers going off loudly (they use them to ensure they are not taking too long on your services - I was told this from one of the workers). It still was not busy when I left, I even sat and read three magazines that I brought with me at the drying table so I was there for quite awhile. Who knows bad day at the nail salon! This isn't close to where I live, but has become my go-to spot for years. The ladies are all very nice, and recently they updated their web site so you can book online - THANK YOU!!! The only reason I give 4 v. 5 stars, is there are a couple technicians I've gotten who aren't very good (one who only does pedicures) plus barely gives any massage and sometimes hurts me when cutting/filing - and the pedis aren't cheap! I can never remember names or I'd request certain people. Wish they had pics! The manager guy did my dip once and not only was he not friendly at all, but they were so bad I had to come back a week later to get fixed/redone. I've been here a couple of times. Even though it can sometimes be hit or miss with how quick they want to get you in and out or not giving you a seat next to someone you came with and then sitting a stranger next to me, I have overall always been satisfied with my nails here. I would recommend making an appointment just so you don't get turned away or have to wait a long time if they are busy. Everyone usually does a good job and I like the ambiance inside. I am also glad that all of the staff wears masks and that they have plexiglass separators between the client and staff for manicures. This past time that I went I got a gel manicure. Like usual I chose my color from the front and sat down to get started. I went with a dark grey color. After the color started to be painted on I noticed that it did not look like the color that I chose because it was really purple, but honestly I still loved it so I continued with this color. The massage at the end only last like maybe 10 seconds on each hand, but I was having a conversation with the person I came with most of the time so it ended up being ok. Went in for a quick eyebrow and upper lip wax for my birthday, and left very disappointed. I asked for a simple touch up since I was unfamiliar with the salon's work, and the technician did the bare minimum. The technician did not shape my brows to my face, trim longer hairs, or brush my eyebrows into place. The technician also did not apply any oil to my skin after the wax despite visible irritation due to having sensitive skin. Would not recommend this place for facial waxings. This service felt very rushed, and the quality was lackluster. Overall very disappointing service, shouldn't have bothered with this place. read more

As a healthcare provider I would never treat my patient/client the way we were treated today. I recently visited this establishment with my soon-to-be 13-year-old daughter for a special spa experience in celebration of her birthday. We had a scheduled appointment for 6:30 pm, but unfortunately, the service did not commence until 7 pm, just half an hour before closing time at 7:30 pm. Given my daughter's nail-biting habit, I politely requested the nail expert to pay attention to her cuticles. However, I was informed abruptly that they do not provide such a service due to the closing time constraint. Consequently, acrylic nails were applied without addressing the cuticle issue, which was crucial for my daughter's first nail experience. The overall experience was disappointing as we observed inconsistencies in the application--crooked, varying lengths, and inadequate communication when seeking clarification. When I inquired about correcting these issues, the response was dismissive, adding to our dissatisfaction. Despite the aesthetically pleasing environment of the shop, the lack of attention to customer needs has led me to reconsider returning. I had hoped to include this establishment in our regular nail care routine but, regrettably, the subpar customer service and disregard for our concerns have left me with no intention of revisiting. In consideration of my disappointment with the service, I am compelled to leave this feedback as a sincere reflection of my experience. I would have left 1 star because there wasn't even a mere apology offered and when my daughter told the owner THANK YOU she barely received a response. I've been to nifty nails a handful of times. At one point I considered myself a regular. A friend and I went today to get a pedicure and I was shocked with the change of decor. It looked so modern and updated. It even had a nice check in system, where all I did was type my phone number, name and selected my service. It even allowed me to request a specific tech. I like this electronic idea because it saves paper and it allows them to keep a nice track. We were sat almost immediately, which was great! It was an incredibly fast service, honestly shocked at how quick we were in and out. My nail tech was just okay, she didn't give a lot of detail, but my toes look great! **Review 600!** I've now been a Nifty Nails twice. Both times my technician has been Cindy who has been nothing short of amazing! Right now I have full acrylics. Both times, Cindy has serviced me with a fill in, a cut down, and gel color changes. The first time I came in, Cindy quickly noted that my oringnal nail technician (from a different shop on Broad Ripple) who serviced my acrylics did not properly glue on my nails. Cindy was quick to show me what the problem, correct the issue, and proceed with my request of a fill in, cut down, and gel paint change. Since then I've not wanted to go to anyone else! No chips or nail breaking issues at all. My 1st gel set, I had for 3 weeks, no issues. I provided my photos of my nails the day of this post with no chips after a week of paper writing and swimming in a pool. On my last visit, I was a walk-in client. I got there on a Saturday at 8am and was quickly served, as well as received the technician of my choice! Everyone here is so friendly including the receptionist who does her best to get everyone in. On my first visit I was also a walk in client but I was taken as the last client of the day. The receptionist made sure to squeeze me in and I appreciate it. Overall, I definitely found my go to now place in Indianapolis! Great quality and awesome service. read more

WEIRDEST experience here. First of all, it's nice that you can make an appointment online. Love that. Here for it. I was just getting a pedicure and my friend was getting mani and pedi. My pedicure was just fine. No complaints. But I'm sitting next to my friends and the nail tech keeps jabbing and jabbing at her cuticles until they BLEED! And then there is blood! And then he keeps trying to paint OVER the blood and putting the brush back into the jar after wiping the toe/blood. It was gross and nasty and looked awful. He then kept asking her if she had diabetes or something and she was like "No, you just keep jabbing and cutting at my cuticles." And then he did the same thing to her fingernails! So I got a front row seat to this and her nails looked terrible and I felt awful because I'm just chilling over here with my toes drying. But I think the staff could definitely use some better training and better sanitization procedures!! read more

My friend and I wanted to get our nails done so we found this place and I gave a 2 just because they got us in quickly. However, when my friend was getting her nails done the guy doing her nails took so long and had to make sure everything was perfect. She assumed he was making them look perfect but when she looked at them when they were done her thumbs were completely uneven, he filed them down way shorter than she wanted even after she told him she wanted them long. Not only that, both of the people doing our nails tried talking us out of getting the designs we wanted because it was "too expensive" even though we said we didn't mind. Disappointed in the service I received yesterday. I've come to this nail salon numerous times in the past and always left happy but yesterday, the quality of my manicure was low. I paid extra for gels and none of the nail polish was placed close to my cuticles so it already looks like my manicure is a few days old at best. When I got home, my nail polish had already started to chip on one finger. It felt like the woman rushed my manicure which would not have bothered me if she had done a good job - but I'm disappointed with the low quality I received and don't think I will be returning to this salon. I have walked in and gotten pedicures on multiple occasions and have never had to wait too long, but the morning and early afternoon are the best times for walk ins (during non-pandemic times). Finally, a location that will/can do chrome powders on a natural, gel nail manicure! I've been looking for 3 months for a place that will do this! They have a large selection of regular and gel polish! You can pay for your manicure and tip on a credit/debit card. So small, but definitely helpful. Not only that, but there was so much attention to detail that my nail tech provided--I'm over the moon with my manicure. Like others have mentioned, she did two layers of a base coat, 2 layers of color and 2 top coat layers. She paid a lot of attention to my cuticles, and even did some final cuticle work at the very end. I always dread the hand lotion and "hand massage" because it always feels lack-luster, but today's was actually nice. The lotion even smelled pleasant. I was recommended this place by my mom and sister (whose nails always look FAB). Needless to say, this place is relaxing. No pressure to have a conversation. I get the dip powder and they always make sure it isn't too thick looking while still tough and long-lasting, which is a need for someone who works with their hands a lot! Dip is 40$ here, which is standard. My natural nails have never been this long before and I am obsessed! I have been to other salons that have cut down my natural nail so much that they just rip right off (ouch!!) and when I mentioned my concern about this, they did an extra strengthening layer under my color! Amazing. Above and beyond. I see either Ming or Nancy, but I've heard wonderful things about many other nail techs here. Ming did my nails this time, my color is a rust/burnt orange called "7" and it's in the dip powder. They have a huge selection of dip colors. Upon entering I was greeted directing me to self check in which was cool in that it's digital allowing you to select your nail technician along with services requested. From there my visit went down hill. There were children of customers running around, the technician I ended up with was marginally polite. I had my dip nails redone and she was rough. Rough with removing the polish with acetone and the dremal tool. Using that electric tool ruined my visit as she etched my natural nails deeply causing them pain for days after the service. I've never had this type of problem before so I won't be back. Beware of the dremal tool, it can be damaging to your nails and nail bed.
