Andy was amazing! He saved me so much money. My MacBook Pro wasn't charging, and I thought I had to buy a new battery. However, he discovered that the charger cable wasn't working. He didn't charge me anything for the service. In contrast, another place tried to charge me $65 just for running the diagnostic, even though I had told them it was just the battery issue. If you are reading this review, you are likely in the situation I was in - where your computer, and your entire life has possibly been lost. My Mac laptop would turn on, but kept popping up with an error message. I tried everything I could, but nothing would work. I found New World Mac and gave Andy a call asking when I could come by. He was flexible and said to come by whenever. An hour later I walked in, and explained how stressed I was. My entire life is on my laptop, and of course had not been backed up in a year or two. As a musician, I was so scared. And he explained what he thought it could be, and his process. He said he would update me that day. A couple hours later he called, explaining that he could save all my data!!! He was able to put in a new hard drive, and bring all my data from the crashed hard drive over to the new one. He also replaced a blown speaker and gave it some updates. When I got my laptop back not even a couple days later, it was good as new. He had cleaned it for me, and everything was set up the same as before it crashed. I now have double the space, two working speakers, and massive relief that all my data had been saved- thanks to Andy. He was very reasonably priced too. I abhor reviews that start out with overinflated compliments that are impossible to live up to. That is, before I discovered New World Mac. This place is truly a God-Send and owner Andy is a miracle worker. Aside form the fact that he is genuinely a great guy (when I walked in he was fighting with a customer who was trying to force him to take a gratuity and he would hear none of it), he is a genius when it comes to Mac related issues. My computer was older than Steve Jobs. He was able to overhaul it and upgrade it to the point that I am no longer disgusted looking at the darn thing. I offhandedly mentioned that my lap top was also running slow for some reason. He had me bring it in when I picked up my PC and corrected that issue as well - for no extra charge. I woke up intending to head to Best Buy to get my computer challenges addressed but decided to try this local spot instead. Man am I glad I did. Can't say enough good things about the work done by Andy (along with great customer service). I accidentally spilled some water on my MacBook Pro and brought it to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. They told me the logic board was corroded and would cost over $1500 to replace, which I figured would be better spent on a new laptop. Luckily, they sent me to New World Mac to recover the data from my SSD card. Andy was skeptical of the Apple Store's diagnosis and although he said he could easily recover my data, he also offered to do a free diagnostic himself. He was able to clean the logic board and get my MacBook back up and running as good as new, for a very reasonable price. Andy only deals with Macs. Laptops, desktops and iPads. He really knows his stuff. I was told at the Apple store that I couldn't add disk space and that I'd have to get a new laptop. That was patently not true. Andy added a new hard drive and saved my laptop and saved me a ton of money too. He also upgraded my wife's macbook with a new larger hard drive. I also have an older mac with the disc drive and other ports. Due to dropping it, I was considering using it as a doorstop. Miss that disc drive. Andy said he could replace the display and upgrade the disc drive. That will be my next project with him. I was fortunate to find him via Yelp. I had an iphone issue, but he doesn't work on iphones. He recommended a place downtown that fixed it while I waited. Andy did a great job and I will always bring my mac issues to him. And I will gladly kiss the Apple Store goodbye. read more

Hands down, the best repair shop around. Andy was beyond helpful, and his 5 star rating reflects that. My son's MacBook started acting up during this quarantine/online schooling. Andy doesn't really need another glowing review, but I found him exceptionally diligent with re his skills and have been impressed with his honesty and integrity - well, it's just hard to find a good IT person. I spilled wine on my laptop keyboard. Even though it had a transparent cover. Okay, so I don't use stemware near my computers ever again because the higher center of gravity makes them more likely to topple over. Anyway, nerd moment is over. The point is that yes, it did take about two weeks to get my logicboard completely replaced and when it proved to be faulty, Andy did order a new one from the warranty, as well as suggest I update my hard drive, which he would replace for free for my warranty woes (well, I purchased the hard drive according to his suggestion and the labor was free) and when he discovered that my wifi card was faulty and slow, he also replaced that for free. This took about a month, not the usual turnaround time for him and I believe that; the setbacks were not his fault, but at the same time, he was able to help me with other Mac problems that I had not foreseen and he worked on them with grace. I love patronizing places that see their work as a challenge and a way to solve problems instead of an opportunity to rip a layperson off. It's so difficult to find people in this profession (whether it be a doctor, a mechanic or an IT tech) who is honest and diligent in their work. Andy is very good at his job. I will try to keep my laptop dry and if my husband or friends have any problems with their Macs I will refer them to him. read more
