I've had a geek squad account fir a few years, but the support has gone way downhill. After a particularly frustrating service where they sent me computer to Kentucky for service and returned it still not working after MONTHS, I decided to try this place. Fabulous communication! Fast service! Reasonable pricing! And Richie also happens to be an all around nice guy. The nice thing is you deal directly with Richie, who is the owner and does everything himself. In my case, he came to my house to pick up my 27 inch iMac, and he is such a lovely and trustworthy guy. He changed out my hard drive when it crashed, and was very reasonable with his fees. Especially considering he comes to your house and picks up and delivers back to you personally. I had a really tight schedule and my hard disk didn't work properly anymore. It had to be fixed in two days and I struggled w my back up. Richie guided me through it over the phone and texted me right back when something would go wrong. He picked up a new hard drive from the store for me and then after my back up was made picked up my laptop from home at 9 pm because that was the only time possible for me. Then replaced the hard disk in one day put my back up back and brought the computer back to my place! Great service and a super nice and honest guy and did everything for a great price! My computer fell and could not get up! Oh no! After calling around and hearing some really high prices, I found Richie and I'm so glad I did. I don't have a very fancy computer, so if it was going to be a huge repair, I'd rather just get another one. A lot of other places charge you just to take a look and give an estimate, but Richie said it's free if he doesn't fix it, so I handed him over my poor injured laptop. Honest work, great prices. I think he charges $70 for labor + cost of parts, which I think is a pretty good rate. I needed a new hard drive, and he charged me about the same as I would pay to order one online. I also requested data recovery (I think it's around $150 but not sure), but my hard drive was too fried, so it didn't work. Richie did not charge me a penny for the attempt. I was having phone issues and on vacation while he did the repairs, but he still made sure to get a hold of me, which I found reassuring. I'm moving out of the Valley, but I had such a good experience with Richie that I will drive a couple hours if need be to use him again for computer repair should I need it. Pro-tip: If you are planning to use the Yelp coupon, tell Richie instead of buying it and he will honor the discount. read more

Richie was such a low-key guy when I met him and my computer was in such seemingly fatal distress that I'll admit - I was scared it was going to turn out to be a lost cause and boy was I ever wrong. Ritchie is my mac hero. My iMac hard drive died and I found Ritchie through Yelp. I saw a lot of good reviews so I figured I'd give him a shot. I am more of a creative operator than a tech savvy type so while I know my apps, hardware is not my forte. Ritchie was extremely patient with me and explained all my options based on what I needed to get my computer up and running. He gave me a great price and even gave me solid advice on options for running my system that were completely unrelated to the repair. Richie wasted many hours of my time and about $300 troubleshooting superficial software problems on a mac air that was later diagnosed as having a hardware problem. For all of the many texts, emails, meetings and troubleshooting (which otherwise would have been billable hours) - it all turned out to be a waste of time as Richie's efforts did not solve the issue and he came up blank. I am saying it. Richie Suarez is the Computer Whisperer. There are a ton of "computer repair" tech genius people wandering about Los Angeles, but there is no other singular human being I would ever trust with my computer. The reason is, Richie realizes that for most people--your computer holds a large chunk of your life inside it. Where I have seen other tech people be extremely informed but also distressingly cavalier, Richie sets a very different standard of care in that yes- he is wildly efficient and clearly has that mac/pc genius aflowing, but he is also tenacious, kind, informative... and of greatest value to any business or individual: he is strategic. He is rather amazing in how he can assess the overall big picture of your needs, the status and depth of what your computer needs, and then devise the most winning solution possible that integrates both! He is the very rare blend of someone exceedingly professional and in possession of great ethics and integrity; and therefore conducts business in a way that is incredibly human and intelligent. In short, he is tha man for all things giggabitey. Yep, he is a caped-computer-crusader-smiling-humble-man who will probably demure that I wrote all of this, however I do very much feel it is my responsibility to let other people know just what a goldmine he is (and he should certainly be treated as such). Richie Suarez is a blessing. He's a super hero! He seriously needs a cape. The Mac store at Topanga threw a few names at us and so I called them all. We chose Richie. He was kind on the phone, knowledgeable, able to offer a reasonable quote AND HE PICKS UP AND DELIVERS!!!!! Holy smokes! Super fast, super nice, and his prices are Reasonable. I wasn't crying when I got the bill. He offered much more than I was even expecting. Apple recommended I not toss the 6 year old obsolete mac, but rather replace the hard drive. He is the answer to my prayers. I felt so much better handing him my whole life, because he was honest, helpful, not condescending, generous and I could not wait to Yelp some love in his direction.
