    I had a gaming PC that had become very unstable and would crash often. I brought my PC to see Gar on November 8th and got it back November 10th. Haven't had a single crash and my PC is running (maxed out gaming & work/video editing) better than the day I assembled it. Gar is very passionate about the work he produces. We talked for a solid 30-45 mins the morning I dropped it off about every solution / scenario. Gar was very honest, clear, and thorough from the moment I dropped off the PC to the time I picked it up. I would come back to Gar in the future and will recommend friends and family to do the same!

    My development machine was getting long in the tooth and I needed a new PC. Intrigued by the 5 star rating and wild looking website, I emailed HeliX with a list of parts I wanted for my machine. Garnik quickly responded with a build description and a reasonable price quote. A few days later, my new computer was under my desk! HeliX totally delivered. This new box cut my compile times down by 60% or more! This is now my go-to place for custom PC builds.

    **You can find details on my old build on PC Part Picker. My profile is MechaFnGrl. Hopefully, soon, I'll upgrade my new specs so you can see the magic for yourself. While I was playing a game of Overwatch, my computer shut off. And it wouldn't turn on. I built it myself, so I opened it up to troubleshoot. I was sure it was the power supply because there was still a light on my GPU. So I ordered a new one from Amazon, installed it, and turned it on. It didn't work. Since I built the PC myself, I opened it to do a thorough troubleshoot. I checked for any damage to the motherboard disconnected and reconnected all my SATA cables. It still didn't work. I was fresh out of ideas and patience (I needed access to the computer). So, I needed some help. It was between Helix PC, a small PC repair shop, and Best Buys Geek Squad. Since it was my build, I knew for sure Helix PC would be the better choice of the two. So, I decided to call them and see what my options were. However, the idea of giving Best Buy and getting their automated service felt annoying. When I called Helix PC, Garnik answered. He's the owner of the shop. I told him my problem, and he offered his diagnostic service. He would troubleshoot the computer himself and tell me the issue. If I decide to follow through and have him correct it, he will subtract the diagnostic fee from the repair total. If I wanted to fix it myself, I would pay the diagnostic fee. Felt like a win-win to me! The next day, he called me: my motherboard died. The thing is...it was a micro ATX, specifically: MSI B250M MORTAR ARCTIC Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard. And it was no longer available. Here are my options: 1. Find my old motherboard, which will most likely be refurbished. And reinstall the whole unit myself. (Pay for old motherboard) 2. Find my old motherboard, which will most likely be refurbished, and have Garnik install it. (Pay for old motherboard + labor) 3. Upgrade to a full-size motherboard. And upgrade a new CPU to fit in that motherboard. And upgrade to a new CPU cooling unit. And get a new case to fit everything together. (Pay for: New motherboard + new CPU + new CPU cooling unit + new case). I built my computer about three years ago and decided that I needed an upgrade a few months ago. But all I wanted at the time were new RAM sticks. After being so frustrated with troubleshooting my computer in the first place navigating the cramped space in my micro ATX, I thought maybe a full size might not be so bad. Garnik didn't rush my decision-making and allowed me a day of consideration. I chose option three. He had a new motherboard and CPU in his shop ready to go. I opted for liquid cooling but didn't have the model available in his shop, but he was happy to order it for me. The snag was with the prospective computer case. Though Garnik had some computer cases in stock, I wanted another pink case. I mentioned that to him, and he didn't fight me on it all. Instead, he encouraged me to find the one I wanted and send it over to him when it arrived. In addition, he offered recommendations from other companies and websites. All of this happened on a Friday. The case arrived early that Saturday morning, and he was available in his shop. He would be ready and willing to start on repairs. I was okay with him starting repairs on Monday. Great news: I found a pink case. I sent it to him Saturday afternoon. The liquid cooling unit came in as well, and he agreed to start the repairs on Monday. Tuesday afternoon, though, cause my day job was so crazy, I got a text message saying the computer was ready. Garnik was fiddling with some MSI software to adjust the RGB lighting when I arrived at the shop. It was lime green. Against the white cooler and the pink case, I would agree now that it was unsightly, but I didn't care. He fixed my computer was fixed. He took the extra step all on his own to readjust the lighting to a pink or purple--something to complement the colors better and requested a little more time to do so, like 10-15 minutes. I humored him. And he figured it out. He made the lighting pink. And showed me how to get into the software to change the colors if and when I wanted to. In conclusion: Garnik knows what he's doing. He's been doing it for a long time. He's attentive to your needs and will listen to any insight you have to offer. He's patient. If there is an item he doesn't have in his shop, he's willing to wait for it to ship before initiating the repair. While he was fixing the lighting, we talked a lot about GPUS. That's because he foresees. I'll need a new GPU in a year or two. And he offered recommendations on what series I should be focused on that would be better suited for the motherboard. Now, my computer is back to normal, and everything is working better than ever! If you are having computer trouble in the slightest, take it to Garnik. You can decide what steps you want to take after the diagnosis. But I'd highly recommend you let

    This Guy Is the Mac Whisperer (and Probably a Jedi in Disguise)…read more So here's the deal: if your iMac suddenly pulls a "Broadway blackout" and leaves you staring into the void while your life's work hums faintly in the background, you need Tommy from MacMyDay -- not tomorrow, today. Tommy showed up like a scene-stealing character from a tech-comedy crossover of Superbad and South Park (minus the profanity and teenage chaos). He was upbeat, wicked smart, totally honest, and not once did I feel like I was being hustled, upsold, or dragged into a 14-step "tech enlightenment program." The man is a tech guru meets philosopher, with a little bit of music producer and friendly neighbor energy thrown in. He didn't just assess my ancient iMac (which, bless it, had finally gone to the dark side -- literally), he walked me through realistic, budget-friendly options to rebuild my setup without making me feel like I had to sell a kidney or join a startup. His advice? All tailored for me, not some one-size-fits-all checklist. And he made it fun -- yes, fun -- to talk about external drive casings and system upgrades. Tommy is observant, kind, and thinks like someone who's been in your shoes -- which means you walk away feeling heard, helped, and way less freaked out about your tech.
