I read reviews, AND read more . . . . AND read EVEN more . While I'm a steady Yelper & have faith in it's system, when it comes to following total stranger's suggestions, & believing credibility, I am often skeptical & leery. Especially when the repair of an item SO VERY expensive is involved. Logistically, Kingly Computer Repair was within a decent driving parameter, & the reviews & critiques of the service rendered by Max, were as well, a PLUS, so I took a leap of faith & brought my business to Max. My experience with him was nothing short of SUPERB. It was analogous to checking into a hotel via the VIP lounge, instead of going through the typical B-list registration process. After confirming that my computer was in fact, on it's death bed, he helped me off the ledge, so to speak. I was horrified with the crash my pc took, feeling very doubtful that ANYTHING could be saved from the hard drive. Max not only reassured me he could work his magic & retrieve my precious stored files & photos, but he also gave me his cell #, knowing I was on my way to Best Buy to purchase a new computer (more ram, more memory, faster processor). "I want you to buy smart" He said, "If, when you're there, you have ANY questions about what they're trying to sell you, or about what you are about to buy, call me . . . even late, call me . . . I will give you my advice." Wow. This guy's the fa'shnizzle, I thought. He's really offering to 'HELP' me, even if I don't return back to him. Few people like Max left in the world, let me tell you. I DID call him from Best Buy. He DID walk me through my purchase. I DID return back to him to have him transfer the files he resurrected from the Death Star, into my new & improved pc. He DID not disappoint. He charged me so little for what was a ton of work, and every cent I paid was well under-worthy of Max's time & effort. Again, . . . WOW. Max's service of benevolence reminds me to not lose faith, that there are people put here on Earth, to genuinely make our lives easier & better, without any caveats. A week later, my daughter needed a repair on her Mac, & without hesitation, we knew who to take her machine to. Max, awaiting with a bright smile, magic fingers & a big heart, gave us the royal treatment once more. My daughter's computer was like 'brand new', with many bells & whistles we hadn't even asked for . . . . for next to nothing. You won't be cheated, lied to or disappointed, with Max. Just had to set it straight for all you skeptics, like myself. Go see for yourself. Oh, & I noticed, while I was in the shop, that Max has a photo taped to a wall, of himself with the esteemed Mr. Spielberg. I asked about it, & Max told me that Steven does use his services, when the need arises. Ha!! Even Mr. S knows better than to get exploited by a bunch of high-priced screwballs at the bigger computer repair stores. I found Max's Yelp reviews via a Google search and I'm incredibly glad I did. I didn't expect to have this amazing of an experience. I'm in Riverside - any of you who know the area, that's about 60 miles or about an hour drive. My netbook was jerked away while it was charging and the internal DC jack was damaged. I was having a really hard time getting it to charge. I emailed Max beforehand since I'm not local to see if he would have the part which I was looking to buy and replace myself. He emailed me back promptly and assured me he would have the part (not something a lot of other shops would be able to guarantee). I was skeptical but he seemed sure. Since it would cost me $15 in gas just to get out there and back (starving student here) I was reluctant, but after stopping at a couple computer stores in Riverside I bit the bullet and shot out there. The moment I walked in Max said "Riverside!" and knew exactly who I was. Where else can you find this kind of genuine kindness? He was very professional and yes, he had the exact part (it's a tiny jack I didn't expect anyone to have). Within 30 minutes he had it fixed and gave me some wonderful tips for how to keep it from breaking in the future. I'm not kidding when I say he did a better job than Asus did installing this jack. He went beyond the call of duty and soldered it really well - he soldered it on both sides when it came from the factory only on one. I'm not even sure how he managed this but it looks amazing and it's professional quality. Not to mention, for this kind of personalized service the pricing is beyond fair. A shop I talked to here said they would charge (over) double what I paid Max! What else? The shop is clean, he's a funny & friendly guy, he knows his stuff (he insisted I wear gloves to put my netbook back together to avoid static buildup). He even GAVE ME A CHAIR to sit in while putting my netbook back together (since I brought it in in pieces). Like the other reviewers said, why would you go anywhere else? Our external drive at work wouldn't start one day... It had over 3 years worth of work that could not be lost. Why didn't have a back up drive? Good question. We learned our lesson from this little scare. After talking to a few companies that do data recovery (like Best Buy's Geek squad), I was bothered by how impersonal they all felt. The customer service guys just send your drive out to some other place whom you have no contact with, so you have no idea what's going on... My biggest concern is that they wouldn't even try to figure out what was wrong and just go straight to the clean room, which means $,$$$.$$! I needed someone to understand that I could not lose this information and needed everything recovered! I vented my frustration to a 16 year old computer know-it-all who instantly said "KINGLY!" So I looked up the place and called. Max was incredibly friendly and understanding of my situation. I brought the drive in to him, expressed how badly i needed this stuff recovered, and left him to it. I felt very much like this was the guy to trust. An hour or so after dropping the drive off, max called me back with great news! He would be able to recover all the data! Needless to say my company and I were very pleased. His prices are fair. Max was a great guy and knowledgable! I recommend this place if you have any computer need/issue. My father in law was a victim of phishing scam and I was out of town so I needed a specialist to look at his computer before allowing him to do anything with it. I'm in IT myself and the first 5 minutes of the call with Max, I knew that he knows what he's talking about and have a clear plan. He found/clean up lots of malware/spyware/remote desktop app, identified that his desktop was copied to a dropbox, recommended all the right things (2 factor authentication, turned off the machine right away) and definitely "scared" my father in law enough to be more careful when on-line. Something that I haven't been able to do for a long time. Also, by reminding me to turn off his machine right away prevented more things to happen because the @$$#073 was still connected to his machine. How do I know? Max is the BEST! My HP laptop had been having problems charging and then one day just stopped charging and would not turn on. I called him on a Monday morning and went over to his shop right away. He was very nice and honest, letting me know he needed to see the laptop before diagnosing the problem and letting me know the cost for repair. An hour after I brought him my computer, I walked out with it fixed and working perfectly. He even gave me great tips on how to take better care of my computer. He definetely goes above and beyond for his customers!!! He is my new favorite person in LA and totally deserves the 5 star rating he has on here!!! P.S. I was debating whether to trash my old computer or see what it would cost to fix it. Decided to check out repair shops. I found Kingley computer repair online. Read the reviews on Yelp, was impressed , and then gave them a call. Max was very patient and listened to all that I had to say and then ask me to bring in my old Toshiba Satellite (6 years old) for a free diagnosis. I had several problems including the monitor and start button. After only 15 minutes, Max explained the problems and quoted a very fair price, which I immediately accepted. I just needed to update my protective resources and get a check up on my computer. Max did it all quickly and at a great price. My husband, on the other hand needed to clean out some serious malware, get a new battery and a new keyboard on his 2015 Mac. Max did a great job, in a short time for a very fair price. I highly recommend Kingly to anyone who has any problem with their computer. My laptop keyboard was water damaged a couple weeks ago. The owner of the repair shop Max fixed the problem in an hour while I was in the shop and he showed me the entire process. He is very experienced and skillful and the service is transparent. He put in extra effort to make sure that any related area in the computer is functioning just fine. The shop seems to have all the equipments you ever need for fixing any computer problem. After reading soooo many positive reviews about Max, I was still absolutely amazed at how great he is. My laptop was a complete wreck & I had no idea what was wrong with it. I called a few friends who work in IT and they couldn't figure it out. Max knew what was wrong in about 45 seconds. It was the worst-case scenario- it needed to be rebuilt. He was so quick, so nice & understanding, and I can't believe his prices. I am a broke student & basically laughed at Geek Squad when they quoted me a price. Max Lu performed a miracle for my computer, retrieving ALL the data that was on my damaged hard drive, and getting it onto a new hard drive that he then installed in my lap top. Everything now looks *exactly* as it had before the crash. Max is friendly and informative - he will explain exactly what he thinks is wrong with your computer, what he thinks he might be able do to fix it, and what he will charge, and will gladly answer all your questions. if something happens to your computer, get it to Max ASAP (time matters in recovering data from a damaged hard drive - something I learned from Max). Max REALLY knows what he is doing, AND he will find the cheapest way to get it done. My Sony VAIO has been having fan problems: a loud, whirring, crunching noise that drives me crazy. Max told me he could replace the fan for $xxx or try to clean it for his minimum price, which I think it about $160. It was well worth the money. Max took the laptop apart and cleaned the fan, and then ran a program to test it. It worked great and save me hundreds of dollars replacing it! My husband and I always go to Max when we're having problems with our computers and he ALWAYS knows his stuff. read more

The other morning I awoke to find my desktop wouldn't power up. I looked online and tried everything but couldn't get it going. My computer is just a year old when it got infected with a virus. My system crashed and even after it got reformat the problem did not stop. Instead of buying a new one, I decided to bring it to the Kingly Computer Repair Center. The IT guy was kind enough to explain to me what happened to my pc. My pc got fixed after a few hours. He also installed the programs that I need. I would say that the price might be not that cheap but is definitely reasonable. I never had any problems after my pc got repaired. I brought my HP HDX for a diagnosis of a screen problem, and couldn't get a more detailed, honest answer to the problem. he had to order a part, and my computer was fixed and ready to go the next day. On the phone I could tell Max was quite knowledgeable & that proved to be 110% accurate. I've taken two computers over there (it's worth the drive from Marina del Rey) & am very happy to refer him to others. He really is like a doctor. He immediately knew what was wrong and worked me through how I could fix it, and he printed out a page from the Microsoft website which has what I need on it to resolve my issue, all free of charge.
