Johnny has been servicing our personal and business computers for about 6 years now. He does everything from wiping drives, transferring data, repairs, and updating our systems. He's been able to change out our power supplies (saving us a trip to big box stores) and work with our credit card vendor when things go awry. Basically, we call him whenever we have an "uh-oh" and he's always come thru for us in a pinch. He's super reliable and knowledgeable--a must have for our fast-paced business. This store is great. I accidentally spilled a bottle of water on my laptop over the weekend. I called around to several stores to get it fixed. Most of the local places I contacted didn't even want to deal with a water damaged computer. I even had a store tell me to "bring the laptop in" -- but when I got there they took one look and said, "they didn't want to deal with a computer that had water damage." What a complete waste of my time. Anyway, I was beginning to freak-out because I really needed my computer working. So, I went driving around the neighborhood and spotted this store. I went to the door but saw it was already closed. I looked through the window and noticed Johnny Parker, the store's owner was still inside the store. I knocked on the window and he was so cool he opened up the store to take a look at the laptop. He quickly accessed the situation and gave me a very reasonable price to get it fixed (the keyboard was fried.) Johnny ordered the part for me and called me when it arrived. I took the laptop back to the store and he had it up and running in a few hours. I was very pleased with the customer service and the owner seems to be a great guy. I would definitely bring my computer back here. It was complete serendipity that I ran across this place. Most store owners would have said, "We're closed!!" -- how cool was it that he opened the store back up for me? Very cool. That's the kind of customer service we need more of here in Los Angeles. Great place. My laptop had stopped charging so I called them to see if I could get it looked at and they told me they could take me right away. Johnny was very polite and knowledgeable. He ran a couple tests and quickly figured out that the problem was the charger and not the laptop, much to my relief. He gave me a few pointers on extending the longevity of my next charger and told me all there was to do was get another one. Overall, really great service. DON'T BUY NEW...BUY FROM JOHNNY!! I am about to venture into a business where I thought I would need a desk top. My associate told me that all I'll need is a laptop, so he sent me to his computer expert he has been using for YEARS!! I am ever so grateful for the referral. I chose a MACBOOK Pro that I purchased for only $350!! It came with a lot of memory without Johnny needing to add additional, which I can add later. Johnny also gave me a 6 month warranty when 30 days is usually the norm with a brand new product. Johnny is a wealth of information, very knowledgeable, and he helps to keep everything simple, especially when it comes to virus protection. Johnny is so kind that he offered for me to bring in my brand new printer that is printing blank pages to troubleshoot free of charge. Johnny's service goes over and beyond what you've paid!! I paid for a laptop. Johnny corrected my settings in my cell phone, resolved my iPad woes when it stopped pairing to my cell, and he made sure all my devices connected successfully. I thought I was going to have to purchase internet service at home to operate my laptop so I can write business, but after Johnny showed me in my settings on my cell phone what to do, he has saved me a huge monthly bill. My fear in saying how AMAZING, DEDICATED, INGENIOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE Johnny is is that he will be so busy I won't be able to get to him! I have had many people over the years working on my computers. But NONE have unfailingly figured out solutions AND had the skill to execute them. I have several laptops and a desktop, plus lots of idiosyncratic personal preferences as far as wanting some earlier programs and saving the unsalvageable! Not only has he always gone the extra mile, but he has an amazing collection of parts...sort of his own Ebay! And whenever he can save me time/money by toggling into my computer remotely, he leaps to it. I have never met an IT expert so willing to NOT MILK ME FOR EXTRA MONEY. I'm also really fortunate a friend who was doing podcasts and needed lots of last minute fixes turned me on to him more than a decade ago because my husband can sometimes turn helpless and hopeless when his laptop experiences glitches. But Johnny's no-nonsense manner, and also his patience with those who are technologically helpless, mean a lot. I've been with him thru an ever-evolving wardrobe and combination of instruments. I have attempted to give Mr. Parker business twice now and have reached the point of departure He has no customer service skills. I have had to constantly go back to resolve the initial problem. He does not understand to create a checklist on systems before he returns the device. I went to him to purchase a computer allowing him to keep the other (a win-win for him). He got the computer I was looking at and did load it with my personal data. Now here is where the problems become exacerbating. After struggling with a seeming inability to connect two monitors to my old computer he finally got them to work. He seemed to think it not necessary to confirm dual monitors would be functional in the new one. After taking the computer home, I found the HDMI connection was not accepting the male cable, so I am stuck with going to another technician to resolve this problem created by Mr. Parker's candid irresponsibility. A problem that could have been resolved had Mr. Parker created a simple process of a checklist confirming the device is functional especially in a manner the customer has expressed. My suggestion is save yourself constant return trips for a problem which can be resolved by a truly meticulous technician read more

I brought my older Mac laptop Pro, in for service, because my screen was fading in and out and Johnny was able to source the problem and offer viable solutions on the spot. I did not have the money and or desire to buy a new Mac and he sourced out a used screen for me and tuned up my computer, which is running great now! Avatar is GREAT! The best! Was sent to Johnny by a mutual friend. He took my computer, solved the issue and repaired it immediately. He even returned it to me cleaner than when I left it with him. He also found things that I needed as in preventive care of my laptop and took care of those things as well. That was 2011. I have been a regular Avatar customer since and I direct my family and friends to him with their computing problems. Johnny knows Mac and PC and has advised me on computing purchases and he doesn't try to gauge you either in price for his services. He is still a business man but again he doesn't strip your wallet and that is rare. In life if you find a good reliable person, such as a mechanic or plumber you are lucky and you stick with him/her.
