Wanted to get a quote to get my 4 year old laptop's thermal paste changed due to thermal throttling and stuttering, but instead was recommended to just clean the fans myself! I did that and then did what he recommended, which was to disable processor boost mode! This dropped my temps immediately and my laptop no longer thermal throttles! It now sits at 75c during intense gaming sessions and my games no longer stutter due to high temps.
