They told me if I signed up for their annual membership, they'd diagnose it and fix it. I told them at the time it was the fan, per the pop up message. I went to get it a week later, and they told me it was the fan and they don't fix fans. All that money for nothing. Took it to LAPC and they fixed it in 2 days for half the price. Great customer service, honest and open about the price up front. I will only be going to them from here on out. Best Buy got their last dime from me.

The highlight of my week was meeting Jeffrey and getting my laptop repaired. He did such a…read morefantastic job and quickly, at an incredibly fair price. I have read the one star reviews (which are very few compared to his glowing reviews, btw) and I think some people just have a sense of entitlement to how they think customer service or presentation should be in places where they don't set the rules. They are probably written by the same people that question seating policies in restaurants that have been in business since before they were born. Bottom line is, Jeffrey knows his stuff and he is a character. When you are an expert in something, why waste time explaining your decades of knowledge to someone when you can just cut the fat? (He does explain, btw, but I think most people can't keep up with his knowledge) He asks direct questions because he is trying to quickly and concisely determine what is NOT the issue so he can better diagnose the solution. I wish more people talked like he does. And to anyone that criticized his office, you have probably never been in a workshop before. No frills, no BS, no reason to fluff it up just to make you feel something. It's engineering. I looked at other places nearby with flashy photographs of celebrities next to them and awards on the walls and the prices they charged... Most likely you would be charged like a celebrity and put on a wait list and asked to return later in the week, if at all. I'd much rather go to the genius in his workshop who isn't concerned with such meaningless aesthetics any day. Thank you , Jeffrey - you saved the day and I can get back to work with my files and I saved thousands on what I thought I'd have to spend to get a new computer. I'd happily recommend everyone to Jeffrey for their computer repair needs.

The last PC I owned was powered by a 980ti running Windows 8…read more I've been thinking about building a new PC for years and decided to finally do it. I spent a couple weeks gathering all the components I've been eyeing and made the pilgrimage down to Micro Center (in Tustin) to take advantage of a great MOBO/Proc/RAM bundle. The last time I built a PC was in 2008 and at this point in my life, I just wanted an expert to help me get everything running and optimized. Gar was that expert. This guy knows his stuff and I couldn't be happier with my (first) experience at Helix. He runs the shop by himself and is clearly a lifelong PC enthusiast. It was really cool to see all his customers more 'aesthetic' builds that were in progress. I'm old so I wanted something with as little RGB as possible (haha). He even has a mini museum of PC components from decades past on display which really sent me down a VERY nerdy memory lane. He put together a 9800X3D / 5080 air cooled monster and everything runs perfectly. He optimized Win11 and walked me through everything he did when I picked up the machine.
