This place saved me. I was in such a jam as my MacBook Air crashed on me out of nowhere and the call with Apple support didn't help actually almost made it worse and I am so glad I intuitively stopped and said I'd rather have someone who is qualified to take a look since I hadn't backed up in a long while... Next morning, I found MacHollywood and called and spoke with Jason- I was ready to hear another place who would tell me they charge this much just to diagnose but then it would be these many days to possibly get it back to me, but no guarantee my data would be saved... etc. I didn't have the time nor the mental bandwidth as I was already having panic attacks thinking I lost all my data, (since Apple made it seem like maybe the case - which I would warn as they just want to make the next sale and if I kept up the call, potentially updating the software would have deleted it all apparently.) Instead, Jason told me to bring it in. I didn't need an appt, He was super calm and told me to give him a few hours. His energy made me feel i maybe ok after all and this may not be the end of the world as I was preparing myself mentally.... He called me back with the good news few hours later that he was able to recover my data and get my laptop up and running, and that I could pick it back up- not to mention offering to back it all up on an external drive there if I so choose to bring one or purchase from the store. I was happy to ask if I could have him do it for me and add it to my bill. Long story short, I picked up my laptop plus my new backed up external drive with the quickest turn around and the most reasonable pricing I never imagined. The store is well organized and the two guys are nice but their repair knowledge wasn't solid. I brought a MacBook Pro in because every time I closed it then it would restart when I opened it again. So, $150 and 2 days later I get it back. He said all it needed was a system update. Logically this makes zero sense. On top of that it now made my most critical software not able to work on update. So, now I need to buy software update. However the problem never went away. I didn't realize for 2 weeks because I went on vacation soon as production ended. After he told me it was fixed I brought in a 2nd laptop I'd purchased to have the hard drive partitioned. However it was set up as soon as I arrived home it asked for a password which I didn't give or have. Anyway. I like the guys but recommend people who know their job. read more

I downgraded my macOS to Mojave, surprise. Now can't sync Wacom Cintiq to computer. Jason took the time to check and was kind enough to install the correct driver and installed the Cintiq for me. I am a very happy customer this evening thanks to Jason and MacHollywood. I am a creative professional and my computer is my LIVELIHOOD! My Mid 2012 MacBook Pro needed a new battery and logic board. Yikes, right? I can honestly say the price of repair was very reasonable and even with the Thanksgiving holiday I got my computer back within a week! Although the hardware issue was resolved, I did have to bring my computer back in the following day. Turns out the computer needed to be wiped clean and operating system re-installed. Which worked out in my favor, because it allowed me to back-up months of work that collected on my desktop and download folder before bringing it back. With new store hours because of COVID, they aren't open on Saturday and Jason understood how much I need my computer for the weekend. Jason took care of the re-install for me, in the time it took for me to run some errands and grab some lunch. I won't be taking my computers to anywhere else! My MacBook Air needed help with Wi-Fi, kept on having issues and if I didn't fix it I couldn't get any work done and the computer would basically be an expensive paperweight lol. Going to the "Genius" Bar at the Apple Store a couple times was an exercise in futility. Bless their hearts, but they just didn't quite know what to do. I was lucky to find this place in my neighborhood, and Jason here took the time to help me fix my issue in an afternoon. I ended up having a related issue still after i took it home, and brought it back before they closed. The next morning Jason got it fixed first thing, called me up, and took extra time to help me and walk through it with me at the store. I'm happy with the results. I took my son's iMac 27" 5K for SSD upgrades. It took a single day for them to upgrade the hard drive and installed latest software. It's been a week since and my son loves his iMac now. I also purchase a Cintiq for him since his school is on-line only. They didn't try to sell me more expensive units. They just gave me an options which one to choose. I have used Mac Hollywood multiple times through the years, they are quick, kind, competitive prices and informative. I brought them an older MacBook with a failed logic board - which I did not know was a failed logic board until Jason at Mac Hollywood diagnosed it. Jason is kind, professional and to the point. He quoted me a price to repair it, and ALSO honestly informed me how I could get another of the same model or newer for a LOWER price. He was right. Since the issue was diagnosed, I decided to try to fix it myself. There was a few bumps and I called Jason, he generously gave his professional advice... I was able to repair it. I don't know how long I can keep this old mac running, but I feel empowered and hope for a bit longer. My computer wouldn't turn back on so I called Apple. I asked them if their technicians could fix my laptop and they responded it was a "vintage model" so NO they could not. I freaked out and searched online for a place that could fix my 2014 Mac book. After getting several NO's I finally stumbled upon MacHoywood. I gave them a call and was told to bring my computer in. Not only were they super nice but the technician fixed my computer with no problem and for a better price than I expected. I recently had to go back because wine was spilled on my computer and they fixed it again for me. They not only are reasonably priced but also work fast so that you can have your device back as soon as possible. Super nice dudes here. I went in about two weeks ago in a bit of an emergency because I couldn't open the last two screws on my Macbook pro laptop due to the battery swelling -it was bad. The front desk dude was cordial and asked me what I was coming in for, and the nice dude in the back come out to check out my laptop. In the end, he ended up not only unscrewing the last two screws but also replacing the battery with the new one I'd brought (free of charge!). Super nice dudes here. I had a problem with my wife's mid 2012 MacBook Pro as the unit won't fire up and so I thought the main chip or the video card went bad, but I was able to open it in target mode and pull data off. I walked in and was at the service window in 30 seconds and started to explain my situation and in less than 20 seconds the service guy says to me that its the hard drive cable, I said I haven't even finished telling you about all the problems, and he said I know but i've seen this a lot in that computer. He said it would be X$ and he could do it while I wait. He did, It was, and I was out in 10 minutes. I live in Westwood but have gone to MacHollywood for 8-10 years for service for all my different mac's and I am still amazed at how effective and accurate they are their service and really fair pricing. I live close to UCLA and there are lots of Mac repair shops that I could go to in 5 minutes, but I've always gotten an accurate estimate and a really fair deal at MacHollywood. If you have an Apple product that has an issue and its out of warranty, these guys are as good as I have found. I say that as a LONG TIME APPLE user, I purchased one of the first 128K (YES128K) macs in 1984 and have had 40 or so apple computers since, so I know when someone knows there stuff.
