Dont drop off your drive for recovery here unless you want your time wasted. I did that and was told the technician Jason/Jay would call me the next day with a diagnostic price. Instead Jason/Jay didnt even look at the drive until 4 DAYS LATER. I couldve had it fixed by another shop by then. Jason referred me to a shop that wanted to charge me $600. Instead I went to ELITEMACTECHS who turned it around in 24 hours for $200. Jason became cocky when I asked if sitting on a customer's work for 4 days was normal after I was told it would be called the next day. "All I can say is sorry," he said. My Wacom mobilestudio pro suddenly stopped reading the pen and touch screen. I spend hours trying to figure out what was wrong, but wasn't able to fix it. I took it to MacHollywood (which is where I bought it) to see if it could be fixed in time for me to finish my work deadlines. I was told they don't do that kind of work there and I was most likely going to have to send it to Wacom to get fixed. The gentleman was nice enough to try a few things and see if he could fix it. He discovered the driver hadn't been updating for some reason. He updated the driver and had it working like new in a few minutes. Not only did he not charge me, but I was able to finish my deadlines on time and it's been working great ever since! Such a relief to find a place like MacHollywood! I wanted to buy a Wacom Cintiq Pro 13 and ended up leaving with the Pro 16! They have an amazing set up for Wacom Displays, if you're in the market Forget Amazon who lost my first Cintiq pro a week prior and the rest of em! MacHollywood was worth my 40 minutes in traffic! They had a very solid worker there, Stephan. Who setup the wacom cintiq pro I wanted and gave me his opinions on my trouble making the decision between the two. I've got to say if it wasn't for their setup I would've Bought the smaller version and regretted it! Now I am a happy owner of a Wacom Cintiq pro 16 from a Little wacom bamboo! THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED! Total lack of customer respect. We purchased a Wacom Companion 2 i7, for $2100 a month ago, and it stopped charging. Called Wacom, they authorized us to bring it back to the store. We called the store to check if they had another in stock and was told, by the owner, that under no circumstances would they accept the return. (It's outside of their 14 day return period) This power/charging issue is a common problem with the companions, but MacHollywod will not help you. They are happy to sell you a $2000 machine, but once they have their money you are on your own. I'm a student , currently in midterms and I need this machine to do my work, yet I have to take the time to mail the companion back to Wacom, and wait for another to be sent back. read more

All I need was an exchange of faulty hard drive it took them 5 days to get back to me about the problem which, I told them what was wrong in first day. I have to update my original review. . . I'm not saying fixing my iPhone screen at MacHollywood definitely caused my phone to have problems, but that shortly after I fixed my phone, my phone stopped picking up WiFi. When I called to ask about it, they suggested I try uBreakiFix. They also stated that they "allow you to test your phone before leaving the store." By stopping by uBreakiFix, I found that not only do they fix the screen for less $ than MacHollywood charges, but they also offer a 90 day warranty, which MacHollywood does not - so "Meh, I've experienced better" would be an appropriate response. read more

Just upgraded my problematic (spinning beach ball from hell) 2009 Macbook pro. I took my husband's advice and decided to install a larger hard drive. Chose Mac Hollywood and was very happy with their service. They cloned my original to a larger hard drive with no issues. After the new hard drive was installed, I was going to have them put the original in a storage case for use as an external drive. They were very helpful, told me not to bother as my original drive was on it's last leg, thus saving me the cost of the new case. Will definitely will use Mac Hollywood for all future needs. read more

If you're like me - enough knowledge to be dangerous, but otherwise useless in troubleshooting computer issues - this is the place to put in your contacts/speed-dial under Computer HELP! MB Pro was fading power-wise as I got a battery service alert and it would not acknowledge a power cord hook-up. I called a couple of repair/re-sellers and no one had a battery for my mid-2010 laptop. Remembered Mac Hollywood and called and spoke to Jason at the service desk. While he didn't have a new battery, he did have a low cycle used one - at a very reasonable price - and within 30 mins I was there getting my battery replaced. And, while watching him work, Jason was great about answering questions about pesky computer annoyances and how to address them. We'll be negotiating a maintenance/service agreement in the next few weeks. Years ago, I remember waiting on Sunset briefly to pick a new iPhone and am happy to have reconnected with MacHollywood. It's always scary when your computer is on the fritz and so many computer repair places are like a shady mechanic - they will try to tell you stuff is wrong when it isn't or try to upsell you something new and shiny.
