At first they were okay. Told me they would fix my screen in 20 minute but took 40 minutes. Then a few days later I started getting this black dot at the top of my screen. So I went back to this place and asked if they could fix it. They said No. Because it was exposed to really hot temperature. No, it wasn't. They said they would fix it for $40. My girlfriend got a gift from Germany last year it was an iPad. I am not sure, but seemed like they have different parts or so, cuz I tried probably 3 places and after saying that this tablet is from Europe they weren't provided any services. Hopefully I found this place and they told me it's not a problem. There was some issues with the charging, like on a half charged tablet you won't use high processed games and apps. Guys told me it is not the software problem but something hardware. I left it with them for diagnostic. I've been to Advanced Repair a few times. First time my HTC would not save pictures, they fixed it for $40 and it worked temporarily, but a few days later, it stopped working. I decided to get a new phone. Second time I took my Samsung Galaxy 4 to be unlocked, they did this with no problem for I think $40. Recently my Samsung Galaxy 4's touchscreen stopped working. Everything else worked, but I could not get into my phone. They said screen and board was not good so it would have costed me about $260 in repairs. I decided to buy a used galaxy 4 phone from them for $310 with a trade for my old phone. They said I can bring it in anytime if it stops working (obviously not including personal error). Another 5 star review! Alex is amazing and super efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I began April Fools Day by dropping my iPhone and completely shattering the front. Attempting to not freak out, I searched Craigslist, ATT, Apple and Amazon for potential affordable replacements. Finally it occurred to me that repair was possible. The slight freakout made me a little slow. On to Yelp and immediately came across Alex - 12 min from me (shocking being LA), more affordable than the others I called and available for me to come in immediately. He estimated 30min to fix, he took 20. Wireless too to work while I waited ... managed to forget my laptop though so great excuse for a spring walk. I already recommended him to my boss and I'd most definitely come back! He also has a good selection of 'bumpers' - grabbed one so hopefully this won't happen again. And it only cost me $50, at first I was skeptical thinking it was something more serious but I was surprised that a cleaning is all it needed. My iPhone wouldn't charge, but the battery was ok. I checked the obvious things with the charging port (dirt, different connectors and power sources, reset the software) but no luck. I contemplated doing the replacement myself, but I had enough experience to know I didn't have the experience. It took several tries searching Yelp (Yelp kept sending me to the Westside), but I finally found this place a mere 10 minute drive from my house (after making believe I lived in Pasadena). The guy behind the counter was friendly and alert, and asked the right questions. Although he disassembled my phone on his crowded desk, I could see right away that his hands knew what they were doing. I also, by this time, noticed a problem with the speakers. He did some troubleshooting, and replaced the speakers and charging port in a little more than half an hour for $80 (that's two components for $80, folks, labor included). Fair price, and had a Square dongle on his phone so I could use my card and get an electronic receipt. If you're convenient to Glendale, this place sure beats traveling cross town, or to Pasadena. The service is friendly and informed, the prices very fair, and the service is fast. [Yelp gets a 2 or 3 for bad search, though; for Eagle Rock, where I live, they don't do a geographic search as much as a city-search, and miss Glendale, Pasadena and SGV resources in favor of useless West-LA suggestions]. read more

I was there 2 years ago and forgot to leave a review, and just found their business card again. I had a broken power button on my iPhone that my husband tried to fix himself and somehow ended up making the screen not work at all. They helped me immediately, fixed my screen, and threw in a new power button free of charge. The phone still works, and I remember them being super friendly and kind. Omg do not EVER come in here. The workers here are lieing low life's with nothing to live for. I came in on a craigslist ad and right away this meat head who sits on the right hand side of the establishment starts talking like he's Steve jobs. He goes off about how he's had half a million in sales blah blah blah talks about his life story and all I came in for was a deal I made on craigslist that turned into them offering me complete total garbage than what was agreed on. Then they go on to say I'm the one who is crazy for thinking they were going to do the deal I requested when THEY TOLD ME TO COME IN AND DO THE DEAL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! These guys buy junk electronics on eBay and craigslist repair them and sell them to people who trust them just because they have a store. So seriously these two guys there are the best guys I ever dealt with in a while. Great customer service and they are there to help you, not to take your money like every other store. Heres my story, I went to the store to figure out what wrong with my phone, bc it wasn't charging, and I had class in 30 mins. So one of the guys there opens my phone, tells me what I needed (charging port) and I was out on my way within 20 mins and they gave me a great price. I couldn't be more satisfied. A month later my phone just decided not to turn on at all, so I take it back to them and they told me that I need to leave the phone for the weekend so they can see what they can do, whats the problem, and how much is going to cost me. But the problem was that I didn't have another phone to use so I asked the guy if he have any phone I can use and sure enough he gave me a phone (didn't charge me anything for it bc hes just awesome) until he figured out whats wrong with the phone. On Monday morning the guy calls me and tells me what I needed for my phone was gunna cost me a lot of money bc the parts are very expensive and he recommended not to go for that and get it replaced by the insurance company bc it will be cheaper. Honestly dealing with those guys thee is a blast, they will help you in every way they can because they know how frustration having a phone problem and I felt that they truly care about their customers. One day I pulled the speaker plug out of my ipad 2 to find that a piece of the jack had broken off and was now lodged inside the ipad, I took it to the Apple store, but they don't mess with this problem, and they don't open the case because, the rep said, "They're never the same after you open them." After trying several fixes that had worked for other folks on the web, I gave up and started calling shops. Alex is near me and quoted a significantly lower price for his work. He's trained as an engineer, but wants his own little shop, and I believe that he's nicely over-trained and expert in repairing ipads. His non-invasive attempts failed, but his ethic compellled him to open it up for no extra money, a job that would have cost 3 times as much at the other shops I called. He did the repair and I once again had sound on my ipad. Highly pleased, I was. But wait - after the repair, my wireless connection in my house seemingly did not reach the 10 feet to my bedroom. I brought the pad back to Alex, and he replaced the antenna for just the $10 cost of the part. It's been a month since the repair, and I don't see any sign that his opening up the case has caused any attrition to performance. All in all it was a pleasure dealing with him. He's smart, funny, and has great hands. And like any small businessman, he's mindful that customer satisfaction gains you more in the long run than squeezing said customer for dollars. this place sucks. they took a week to fix our phones and lost a piece to one of the phones and tried to blame us. Then they did'nt give us a reciept for our $170.00 order. Not to mention someone called and said they could not find where to plug the phone in??? Really??? They dress like slobs and the place is a mess. I felt uncomfortable leaving my exspensive phone with them. How do you feel comfortable allowing someone to leave a store with their phone not in working order and charging full price. Rip off.
