I had run over my own phone when I put it there while trying to hook up an EV charger. Anyway, my Iphone 13 Pro Max was only about two months out of AppleCare, so Apple's options were $400 for a lens replacement, or a refurb for $500. No dice, of course, so I had read up on Cosmo, and decided to give them a try. Couldn't be happier. They replaced my lens for $40 ,and upon doing that, found one of the other lenses was cracked slightly, so went ahead and replaced it. I did pay for it, but that second lens would have been my only option was a refurb for $500. Not a bad deal overall, but I'll take the two new lenses and an otherwise good condition phone. Note this is a really old review, but it was never posted and only in my drafts because I used to not want to give businesses bad reviews. Anyways here is my review: I hate to give a bad review, but I left their store in a worse position than when I went in. I had a cracked screen on an I-Phone 6 and didn't want to upgrade my phone just because of the screen. My phone was working fine, but I thought a new screen would look better. Cosmo replaced the screen with another one that was not as good quality and that drained my battery much more quickly. I immediately regretted my decision. It ended up becoming useless six months later when the bottom of my screen just completely stopped working. I have to use Siri to do everything now. I called to see if they would help me but they said my warranty only lasts 90 days. Now I have to get a new phone when I was looking to just buy myself more time with my phone that worked fine. read more

Went in today to get an Iphone battery replacement, I called ahead to get a time frame and quote. It took 15 minutes for the battery to be replaced. I just walked the paseo while I waited. At COSMO the battery replacement for my Iphone 6s was $35. I checked 2 other mobile repair services and got quoted $49 and $80. I requested a quote for a repair on an old iPhone 7 button and received a prompt response via email. This was greatly appreciated because most of the other responses on Yelp were vague or required that I visit the location to get a quote - hard pass. The staff is knowledgeable and work very quickly. Jessica was able to diagnose the problem and she was able to find that it was not actually the button, but a glass and/or connector issue around the button. I was quickly re-quoted and the price was higher than the original. I was on the fence, but Jessica came up with another solution: no hardware repair, we simply set up a digital button on the screen, which would allow me to use the phone without replacing anything. Went in on a Thursday morning and it took around 15 min. The person helping me was quick and welcoming, and the screen replacement + screen protector was perfect. I docked a star because of the pricing - when I asked for a quote on Yelp, they responded that it would be $110 for an after-market screen, which I thought was just the normal thing to do having no experience with screens. When I went in person, they explained that there were actually two options, after market and original at a higher price. Just be aware that to get an iPhone XR screen replaced with the original screen (not a lower quality one), it's actually $140. Also, online they said the screen protector was $5 but in person it was actually $15. It still ended up being a lot cheaper than going to the Apple store, but I do wish the pricing was consistent. read more

Just went to get a screen protector for my iPhone. I was hoping the film would cover the screen without leaving any edges off. Bottom of the phone shows a little over flappy edge. I hope the film stays and doesn't come out. Protector is fine. It just wasn't applied correctly. Update, I went back to the store and I got the protector replaced, the guy was just arrogant and disrespectful. He doesn't know his job. This time he didn't even clean the screen on my iPhone before applying the film. Very bad experience. Something that should be eaasy to process turned out in a very stressful moment. I got a protector for the screen at CVS for $7 and applied it myself. What a waste of time e and money. I had 3 more phones that needed the protector. Update: after my initial negative review, the owner/manager reached out and offered to fix the phone. When I brought the phone back in, the owner/manger wasn't there. The man who helped me gave me some push back about how this shouldn't be covered under their warranty. I asked him if he was going to fix the phone or not. He finally complied. I messaged this location for my broken iPhone, in which they promptly responded. I went there at 10 am where yelp stated they were open but unfortunately they were not. I waited for additional 5-10 minutes and while waiting I was looking for another repair location. Eventually I found another location that was even cheaper. I can't say enough about Jessica and Cosmo. I've always brought my phones in for repair, batteries, etc, but this last time I brought in my son's iPhone, she went above and beyond. My friend had a total breakdown when she went to T-Mobile to upgrade her Samsung phone and then, an hour later, realized that 2 years worth of pictures (memories) didn't make it to the new phone. We found COSMOS by chance. Located on East Colorado, it's by the Paseo Mall and across the street from Ruth Chris's Steakhouse. A simple store: spacious wooden floor, cell phone accessories adorning the wall and a mounted flat screen TV scrolling, among other things, previous 5 Star Yelp Reviews. COSMOS gets one from me as well. Jorge is an absolute lifesaver. His service, calm demeanor and generosity in teaching us technical stuff about my friend's phone convinced us to not go to T-Mobile but this place for all future cellular emergencies. Jorge calmly took her old phone and recovered all of her photos, some of them painstakingly. He showed us apps to download to help back up photos and files. COSMOS fixes it all. Reading through other reviews, I see the litany of "thank you" reviews. I really wish the actual providers like T-Mobile and Verizon and AT&T provide this sort of service. But they don't. But that's also where COSMOs comes in. They stoop down and care to help and fix when the big providers don't. They connect on a personal level, put you at ease and teach you a little bit to make you that much more tech support savvy. TIP: Ask for Jorge. I have had the misfortune of dropping my phone and cracking the very fragile screen (alongside color display) of my OnePlus phone twice within five months. Cosmo ordered a new screen for me over the phone, took a deposit, and replaced the screen the day the parts arrived. So you really had to only go in to their store once. The second time I broke my screen, they even charged me $10 less because the screen had gone down in price. Although my experiences with them had been entirely pleasant, I sure hope to not have to visit them again any time soon.... In regards to the reviewer who ranted about Cosmo refusing to fix her phone after she had opened it herself, there is a big sign on their front desk that says something to this effect: "90-day repair period if phone has not been tampered with" -- which i took to be very clear about not messing with your phone if a problem was found but to take it in. read more

First time customer. Reluctant when there is ever a bad review but most here are great! iPhone 5s dropped against the pavement several times! The hard cover wasn't protecting the phone enough where the left hand corner busted open. The LCD light was shining out until the entire screen went black. Phone calls and messages were going through, but couldn't read nor decline calls since it's a touch screen. Panicked since my next available upgrade isn't until the end of this year. So instead, went to Cosmos for an evaluation/repair. Super friendly technicians and their confidence with fixing even more shattered screens made me understand their ability and trust them. Signing the liability form made me nervous declaring that they aren't responsible for certain features that might no longer be active such as the camera or sound. However, the technicians mentioned its part of their policy. Technicians provided an estimate of how long it'll be which was about an hour. I had enough time to grab a bite to eat and when I returned, the phone was done! The technicians checked my camera, and other features including sound. What a relief! It looked brand new! And I got a new more durable case. Everything included was about less than $150. Worth it rather than purchasing a new phone at retail price! I came to Cosmo on a Sunday afternoon for an iPhone battery replacement. I had phoned beforehand to check they were available for the service that day and the guy in the shop checked they had the correct battery for my phone before I made the trip down there. On arriving at the shop, the guy (I'm so sorry, I forgot to get your name!) saw to me quickly, explained it would take around an hour because he had a few other items he was working on and said he'd call when ready. An hour later he called to say my phone was ready for collection! Great customer service, fast repair and also very reasonably priced! Called and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment half an hour later. I brought in an iPod with a cracked screen, but otherwise in good working condition and was promised it would be ready 30-45 min. later. Went over to starbucks to wait and received a call about 30 min later saying it was ready. Went back to pick up the iPod and unfortunately when I tested the home button it wasn't working. They said it would be fixed right away. The manager, I think his name was Ben, offered me a complimentary iPod case for the inconvenience. They replaced the home button and everything worked fine and looked great. I appreciate the great customer service and going above and beyond to keep customers happy. I would recommend them for replacing cracked apple device screens. I think they also replace Samsung LCD screens. read more

I sent out multiple requests for price quotes for an iPhone screen repair and this business came back with the lowest quote and is near home so I made arrangements to come in just before closing time to have my screen repaired. I left work early to get there in time before the 5pm closing time (so early!), but there was a terrible accident on the freeway on my way home from work, so I was delayed and arrived 12 minutes before closing. There was another customer in the store when I arrived so I had to wait a few minutes to be helped. The employee working was nice enough, but refused to help me because it was too close to the closing time. As someone who has worked retail, I know I was being one of those customers you groan about who comes in right before closing time needing something. But, I also know that it's better to have the positive customer experience and spend three extra minutes of time to ensure that you have happy customers than to refuse to help someone. Instead of helping me, he wasted his time and mine trying to tell me that he couldn't help me when we both knew full well that he could, he just didn't want to. If you don't want to help customers until the posted closing time, post an earlier closing time and schedule your employees until 5:15 or 5:20 to accommodate those walk-ins, or don't accept walk-ins. This could have been handled differently and had a totally positive outcome. I will say that the owner, Jessica, was very helpful via messaging despite the employee's lack of willingness to help. She did claim that the health protocols were to blame, and that the employee couldn't help me because of a safety issue which makes absolutely no sense at all, but okay. Coronavirus protocols do not require that you close your store at a certain time, and I saw the employee leave the store literally one minute after I did so there was absolutely plenty of time for him to do whatever cleaning he needed to do before he left AND help me before he closed up shop. This situation had nothing to do with the health protocols, but the coronavirus is easy to blame so... Anyway, she offered a discount to come in the next day but it was too late, I had already taken my business elsewhere and had a great customer service experience. Cosmo for Dumbo: My 2+ year old model 6 started exhibiting some signs of that battery/charging issue--wouldn't charge, didn't seem connected to the AC..etc. I was phone-less for more than 30 hrs.! ( oh- the horror..) What to do? Go to Verizon-- yep. Useless & Helpless we're ready to explain how my Total Protection Plan, well...didn't exactly protect me in this case--but they could give me some trade-in $ if I wanted to buy a new phone... Then, fortunately, our brilliant son, (who happened to be experiencing battery issues of his own with his iPad...) suggested we go to Cosmo electronic repair in Pasadena, where the Most Helpful & Pleasant, Ariel, took all of 90 secs to diagnose and resolve the issue: build up of pocket lint in the charger port, which she expertly extracted with her needle nose pliers. Further the location has since closed. No refund was given. Billing: I was quoted $60-70 to repair a screen, but was given no receipt. The charge showed up at over $140.00. When I brought it back they denied that fact.They were gracious when I came in to quote the repair, hostile at return.
