I wasn't sure where to look, and out of the blue, I decided to do some googling and came across this country with, needless to say, a very appealing name! After looking into it, I saw a couple of fantastic things that were green flags immediately: 1. The reviews were glowing (and here's another one - and I never write anything). People seemed to love the company's mission, and I even read that the founder (more in a sec!) created the company just for that reason: he didn't feel people should pay an outrageous amount of money to get their data back. 2. Brian himself. What a guy. He was active on a bunch of forums, and you could tell he put together a small, dedicated team who really valued that people trusted them with their services. And Brian and his team saw me through a bunch of the chaos, answering a bunch of my questions, putting me at ease, and then - through the wonders of the US postal service - procured all of my data again. I had 20 or so years of mp3s, photos, movies, and videos that was lost when my single volume D:\ shared across two 512gb hdd was removed causing all of my data to disappear. Solomon was able to recover 99% of the data and back into its original folders. I'm giving a four star instead of five because the service was relatively pricey $699 compared to other quotes I received, however HDD Recovery was a lot closer to where I live. Also, because my hard drives were relatively full, some important financial files I had in the root directory were not recoverable. Went here a number of years ago so this post is overdue, yet the timing makes sense…read more I had an external drive die on me and brought it here for data recovery. Most of the data was recovered but on the file/folder structure was missing, so I needed to sift through random folders to find anything of value and most of them (100s of them) had nothing. Could just be part of the recovery process, so that is not my complaint. I believe my final bill was close to $500, which included a Western Digital USB drive that Magic Data Recovery sold me to take home with my rescued data. Once I was home I did sift through all the folders and cherry picked what I needed to backup, again, onto another drive. Fast forward to 2 years later when I need to access the drive provided by MDR and it wouldn't mount. I didn't want to initialize it so I shelved it for a "later" project, perhaps another data recovery. I just found another Blueray backup I made when I was first given the drive, so the WD USB drive was no longer needed. I wanted to destroy the Hard Drive platters, so I dismantled the case, only to notice they sold me a "recertified" USB hard drive not meant for resale. Could be why it died a premature death, so buyer beware here.
