I was unable to recover data from them in different ways. Disc one was an external drive that would not power on. I tried removing it from its external enclosure and powering it from another, more different enclosure to no avail. The system was indeed down. Disc two was an internal drive that used to be my C drive- my boot drive. I removed it from an old computer after it stopped booting and put it into an external enclosure. Several different computers (Mac & PC) would recognize it sporadically, though none could access the data on it- error codes always came up. Before I removed it, from the old computer, I tried booting from an optical disc and other assorted methods, many other assorted methods... I believe I was very thorough in my efforts. I sent both in and received near 100% recovery. They said it was 100% from one and 99.9% from the other but I am unable to find that .1%. I got all of this for just barely above the $300 price in their name (each, not total). So for about $600 total (including new discs on which my recovered data was transferred and return shipping) I got this incredible service. The total price I paid for both discs at 300DDR is less than I was quoted at several other places for one disc. At each step they were great communicators, from their receipt of the discs to my receipt of the recovered data. I hope I never need their services again but should, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them.

And worse it was the one that held all my photos over the last couple of years. I'm an engineer by trade and with other files, I might have tried to rescue them myself. For these important photos, however, I decided to go with the professionals. I did a bunch of research trying to find the best data recovery service to use and $300 Data Recovery turned out on top. The employees here are very professional and responsive. I submitted my chances form at 7:30PM on a Saturday and they got back to me within an hour. I was not expecting a response over the weekend. They gave very clear instructions on how to package and send off my SSD. I dropped it off at UPS the next day and by Wednesday, they confirmed they received the device and added me to the queue. Apparently there weren't too many people in line before me so I received a positive response the very next day. 100% of sectors recovered! A couple of days later they were completely done and after I confirmed they recovered my files (they send a master list of all files) and I paid ($300 fee + $105 recovery transfer drive + $25 shipping), they shipped my drive back. Total time from my first contact to receiving my data back: 16 days, and this was including Thanksgiving in between. I am very satisfied with the service I got from $300 Data Recovery. I came to ASAP after having been referred to them by Dory from Watt Computer Repair, as he said he'd dealt with them before and had good experiences. So I went there and met with Daniel at the front desk. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and very clear about the process and the cost involved, depending on the extent of damage. It all made sense to me so I put down my deposit, relinquished the drive and hoped for the best. While some people need their data right away, I was in no rush; mine was mostly sentimental value so waiting was fine. During this time, Daniel kept in communication with me, providing updates every so often. In the end, only a portion could be recovered, and much was corrupted. Even still, I was given a breakdown of exactly which was which, was able to review it all myself, as well as ask questions, which were answered quickly. Ultimately, what was recoverable was still worth it to me, so I agreed to the terms that had been set and paid the full amount for the recovery, and bought a HDD from them to put the data on (their prices for a new drive are totally fair and on par with what you could get elsewhere, so the convenience was ideal). What they say on their website, in their contract you sign, and in verbal communication, is ALL consistent: if they can't fix it or what they can fix is not satisfactory, then you just pay the deposit and that's it. There are no hidden fees. I never once felt pressured to keep going with the recovery, and I never once felt like I didn't understand what was going on. All in all, it was a great experience. Also, there is a bright spot on my phone on the right side, which affects my wallpaper. I came into this place to have it checked out and see how much it would cost to repair. The tech took one look at the photo and said it's not the screen that's damaged. It's the photo is highlighting a glare in the background. He switched it to night mode, and the glare was gone, so it was clearly the photo I had as a background and not the screen itself. Also, I asked him about the streaks of light on my photos. He took one look at it and said that my lens cover is really dusty. He cleaned it off and we took a photo and all the streaks were gone. I wanna point this out because these are two things that any dishonest repair shop can easily say they will look at it and fix it and charge me $100-$200. Because of their honesty, this was a five minute visit where he did want adjustment and one lens cleaning and didn't even charge me. It's good to know that they are still honest repairman out there. He properly reapplied the paste, then noticed my fan configuration was all wrong and moved everything to the correct CPU pump headers and fan headers.
