Nice guy. Free diagnostic, it's a half and half, like Chinese dry cleaning during the day, "sams realotors". Nice guy, very friendly. Does not know a thing about how to fix a computer. Told him what the problem was over the phone, asked if he had the tools. I got the new intel raptor lake, asked if he had an alder lake cpu, for a z690 board, he sais sure ill take a look over the phone. His response was "clearly your smarter than me". Dont waste my time be honest buddy, tell me you dont know what your doing. Clearly good if you need a hard drive backed up, but doesn't know how to fix a power supply, or clear a cmos, or install a new bios. read more

Sam worked on Saturday as his business hours are M-F. This shows that he cares for his customers. Sam is a nice guy but I had some problems. I just had just bought a desktop and tried to customize the fan and power supply. My pc would not power on, so I took it to Sam's for free diagnostics. He was not able to locate the problem right away. Next day he called and told me that the extra fan that I tried to customize is causing the power failure. Then he told me it is $120. Let me first say that geek squad is cheaper and if finding out the source of problem isn't part of free diagnostic, I must not know what the definition of free means. (Of course, for his work even for diagnostic I was going to leave tip). Sam took the pc apart to find cause of the power failure. In order for him to put it back it will cost me $120. I told him I will take it as it is and put the pc back by myself, but he told me it will still be $120. At this point, I just wanted to use my new desktop so I agreed. I come home to find that the wiring was not clean, (it is basically left as how I wired it, as it is my first time and my wiring isn't as clean) but for $120 from a professional, he should've done cleaner wiring. Also the liquid cooler is facing sideway(not a functional problem), I would have like the corsair sign to be facing up. I will probably fix this in the future by myself. Overall: Sam is a nice guy, and can repair your pc, but overcharge for subpar service. I do recommend his shop in emergency. read more

Had an emergency today after my husband spilled a full glass of iced coffee all over his work laptop and it soaked into the keyboard. We drained as much as we could and originally rushed over to Office Depot to try and save it. On our way there, I saw the sign for Sam's Computer Service as we drove by. It's fortunate that I did, because the man at the tech department at Office Depot refused to even look at the laptop and said it wouldn't be salvageable. So glad I came here! Sam was very nice and straightforward. I was afraid I'd have to replace the hard drive - my laptop kept going to a hard drive error page every time I tried to start it. I did the troubleshooting steps, and it still kept happening. Sam was very helpful! He asked a few questions, had me fill out a form, and then said he would call me later that day to let me know if the hard drive could be saved or not. He called a couple hours later and was able to not only save the hard drive, but all my original files! Nothing was changed. And it was for a very reasonable price. (I am a super Luddite, had a friend who repaired laptops for a living so we'd barter/trade. He moved away... ) Recently my 7 year old Toshiba, for no reason seized up - all Office programs vanished, and all my folders locked, I could not access any file or folder, and the quotes I got - not knowing if it was a hardware issue, software issue, virus, or what! were beyond my means. Then foster kittens peed on my Chromebook and it would no longer turn on. I lost what work I had due to Covid and when I found that my back up back up laptop wouldn't even turn on, in desperation I just brought all three to Sam. I explained all of this histrionically, and Sam discovered and fixed the issue making the folders not open. I had thought the Chromebook would be an easy fix, like, there would be one part inside to replace. Not so. He told me it would be more expensive for him to repair my old Chromebook than to buy a new one. I really hoped he'd take the damn Chromebook, and he refused the money in my wallet as a thank you for making my Toshiba at least operational again. Purchased a desktop for my friend few years ago. He found it could't start like there was no power after he travelled back from his hometown. I went to his house and tried to figure out why. I double checked all the cables, re pluged in memory bars, but it still didn't work. I thought probably the power supply was broken. Tried to find a store near my friend's house to solve our issue. Simply amazing. I have five computers in my home and so it's VERY important that I find someone trustworthy. I've had some decent technicians that live too far, but none locally that I could depend on. Sam is straight-up honest. He doesn't do that 'shady' thing that a lot of computer techies (and car mechanics) do: "YeeUUUP looks like yer RAM is busted. I reckon ther might be somethin else that led to that problem tho. fantastic service. my workstation had a cpu overheating issue - turns out the liquid cooling unit stopped working. Sam diagnosed this at no charge (which was kind of him) and recommended a type of heatsink to purchase at Fry's. I went and bought a heatsink that matched his description, and tried installing it at home. About 15 minutes into it I decided what's the point, I now know where a friendly expert lives, and back to Sam's place. This is one of the worst services I have ever used. I went specifically because of the yelp reviews. The man who helped me broke my computer and claimed a simple was fix was impossible and I needed a new mother board. When I went to pick up my computer to bring it to another store I discovered they had cracked off a piece of my palm rest (Dell XPS 9560) this is an expensive part and not an easy piece to replace. At first they seemed to act like nothing was wrong. Only after I made pointed out that my computer did not look like this when i dropped it off did they agree to order a new part. After this terrible experience I took my laptop to another repair shop that actually does proper repairs. the original issue that I always thought was a simple fix really was simple. but now I'm left with a damaged case that I do not want to spend any money on to repair and they refuse to offer me any type of compensation. this is a terrible service and I strongly advise not to use them. read more

I called and asked them if they could unlock my laptop. I explained that it was an EFI lock and the guy had no clue what I was talking about I asked him to look it up and see if he knew how to do the unlock and he said he didn't have time. How rude. But most of all, how do you work at a computer repair shop and not know what an EFI password is. My husb and I just spent over 10 hours TRYING to sort through the new program on our computer to find HIS documents and MY documents. Sam co-mingled them so badly that to delete one is to delete BOTH items, no matter in what directory (i.e., music, scans, pictures, etc.). Also, there is so much duplication that it is mind boggling. We are so disappointed and frustrated with the poor quality of the work that we want to be sure no one else uses this company and gets stung as we have gotten stung.
