I asked for a computer repair recommendation on the next door neighbor app and this is the only one I got. (We're new to the area.) Technically I think the company works with businesses, but they gladly accepted my work. My computer wouldn't turn on and I either wanted to know if it could be fixed or my files taken off the old hard drive. Very quickly they determined that the computer power supply was faulty and the easiest thing was to transfer my files to my laptop. Again, very friendly, very efficient, and very affordable. Super happy with this business. I called with a problem we were having on our Dell desktop computer. I had called our "regular" IT guy (let's call him Bob) out to fix the issue, which he fixed on Monday, but the problem returned on Wednesday. I called Bob and asked him to come back to our office to check the computer, but he said the problem couldn't be fixed and that I needed to return it. It's a 6 month old computer! I've never had any issues with a Dell computer, so I was highly suspicious of this. I called PMCS and was asked to bring the computer in. Luckily, I'm able to bring in the computer, so that wasn't a big deal. Since it's a 6 month old computer, I didn't want to do anything that would void the warranty, and I made sure to let PMCS know that, but they were very aware of that anyways. My understanding is that Dell would replace any computer with hardware issues, but I was pretty sure the computer was having software issues because of the Windows 10 update that has caused so many bugs. PMCS was very knowledgeable about the issues and were able to pinpoint the problem within a few hours of drop off. Turns out it was a software issue, so I would have been stuck with Dell's bill and probably the same issue in a new computer if I had taken Bob's advice. PMCS' fees are reasonable and their service prompt. They were very communicative and would call me before making any changes to the computer. They even put in a recommended anti-virus. I am so happy I found this business. I hope they become my new regular IT support. read more

Excellent service! My wife came here to fix the company desktop. Knowledgeable in Lenovo and Microsoft. They made sure to take it apart and confirm the wireless adapter was working. Turns out nothing was wrong with it but the owner actually waited for us after hours because we kept being defeated by traffic to pick up the computer. That was very considerate of him. Called Thurs afternoon and Dusty shows up Friday morning to debug our home desktop and printer issue. Since their policy is to charge for the first initial hour in full, $125, he asks if there are other cleanup issues and then fixes them. Well worth the money since trying to self research online and then attempting my own self fixes from online sources wasted my time and patience (not to mention the risks of screwing up my desktop with a misstep). Fantastic outfit. So glad I've finally found them. Several PC issues and they've come thru in spades. My desktop crashed due to a mother board issue, so had to scrap it and purchase a new desktop. Michael at PMCS really put in a lot of effort to salvage files from crashed computer, even pulled both hard drives and returned them to me, reason: the new computer running Windows 10, so my file structure was not easily copied into W10 system. I have lots of backup and duplicate folders so it drove Michael nuts! but he came thru. I just had a laptop issue because of the Windows10 forced harrassement upgrade that eventually caused my laptop to crash...couldn't even restore to an earlier date. Michael was able to back my laptop down to Windows 7 and recovered the latest critical files. Most of the older files already backed up so only recent files were critical. I have been using PMCS for our business for many years now. It is a little scary to have to rely on a company to protect and maintain all the data that makes your company run. We tried a few companies prior to finding them with limited success. PMCS however, has always been there to take care of the needs of our office. They have helped to guide us as our operations have grown. They are available to come to the office or assist remotely which comes in very handy sometimes. Desktop PC crashed and would no longer boot up. PMCS took it in and replaced the Operating System without losing any of my data. I can only hope PMCS sticks around a lot longer now that I've found them. I brought them my artist workstation despite it not being their typical machine to troubleshoot. They agreed to look it over to see if they could figure out what was triggering thermal shutdown. Michael checked and tested all of the cooling components, even reapplied thermal paste to the cpu, but nothing rectified the problem. The point is they gave me piece of mind by confirming my suspicions that the motherboard or cpu may be damaged, and didn't charge me an arm and a leg to figure that out. This is an old-time computer service, which is to say that they operate like a real shop with real knowledge and not like a lot of these "swap it and forget it" places that you see springing up at every box box retailer. The employees are IT professionals and not minimum-wage college students who spent a weekend in a training session and can only recite corporate rules and policies. They are very good at working on/dealing with older equipment as well, which was my specific problem. But this is the advantage of a shop that has been in business for almost 30 years. They've seen just about everything. And can fix just about anything as well. Yes, the place looks dated and plain from the outside, but a fancy store and show-room means higher prices to the customer, just like how a good independent auto shop is usually just stuck in a corner somewhere compared to the fancy dealership. note - several computer service shops and stores in the area have gone out of business in the last year. This is the best of the ones left in the Foothill area. Glendale has nothing worth going to, and the only other place left that's any good is in East Pasadena (but they mostly sell parts to system builders and DIY types, and not actual repairs). Most of the remaining computer repair industry is now out near Santa Monica/ the West-Side, and you can waste $20 in gas (plus two hours in traffic) just getting there and back. read more

I have been going to PMCS for over 15 years and they are one of the 3 most reliable and honest companies that I have ever had the privilege of dealing with! They have been able to successfully solve EVERY single computer problem that I have ever brought to them. In addition, they are EXTREMELY fair with their rates! I am absolutely certain that they spend more time solving my problems than they bill me for! I typically have Sergio work on my seven computers - but Michael just solved a difficult problem today in a very insightful way - and I was only charged for 1/2 hour labor! A dead computer has now been totally restored to PERFECT working order. Extremely knowledgeable technicians and way way more than fair with their charges! What more could you ask for? I was recommended to PMCS by my accountant who used them for his business and personal computer needs. I've used PMCS for several years now, and they have repaired 2-3 laptop computers for me to my complete satisfaction. The most recent one, my laptop completely crashed (total hard drive failure). Luckily, I had all my critical files backed up on an external drive. Michael took it in, replaced the hard drive, fixed all the issues, and now the computer works just like new, better actually, since it seems much faster. As if that wasn't good enough; they are also very nice, not at all condescending to computer Troglodytes like me, and they're usually quite fast. my computer froze up on me. i could even get the hard drive to spin up, and was able to put in my hard drive password, but nothing more. i took it to this place, and they charge $60 just to look at it and give you an estimate. and then $60 an hour thereafter. i ended up spending $230 to hvae my $500 laptop (i bought it new in '05 for $500, but got about $200 in discounts) repaired. it took them 2.5 hours to do the job, or so they say. their prices are quite high, but my laptop is working again. the least they could've done was to hook me up with a virus scan after all that, but they didn't. now i use like three different freeware antivirus/anti-spyware programs and i'll never let myself get hit with a $230 charge again. read more
