bad wiring for a professional, this is how I left my wiring.
    Mika K.

Sam worked on Saturday as his business hours are M-F. This shows that he cares for his customers. Sam is a nice guy but I had some problems. I just had just bought a desktop and tried to customize the fan and power supply. My pc would not power on, so I took it to Sam's for free diagnostics. He was not able to locate the problem right away. Next day he called and told me that the extra fan that I tried to customize is causing the power failure. Then he told me it is $120. Let me first say that geek squad is cheaper and if finding out the source of problem isn't part of free diagnostic, I must not know what the definition of free means. (Of course, for his work even for diagnostic I was going to leave tip). Sam took the pc apart to find cause of the power failure. In order for him to put it back it will cost me $120. I told him I will take it as it is and put the pc back by myself, but he told me it will still be $120. At this point, I just wanted to use my new desktop so I agreed. I come home to find that the wiring was not clean, (it is basically left as how I wired it, as it is my first time and my wiring isn't as clean) but for $120 from a professional, he should've done cleaner wiring. Also the liquid cooler is facing sideway(not a functional problem), I would have like the corsair sign to be facing up. I will probably fix this in the future by myself. Overall: Sam is a nice guy, and can repair your pc, but overcharge for subpar service. I do recommend his shop in emergency.

Outstanding work on my 13" Macbook. Very fair pricing. I'm left with no reason to try anywhere else.

Had a desktop that hasn't run for 8 years, thinking of giving it up but I do have some important files in there.

I shut off my computer, went to Yelp and was happy to find someone who specializes in Apple/Mac. I then asked my La Canada Flintridge friends and one person endorsed him whole-heartedly. I called Jack and lucky for me he said to come over in a couple of hours. He has a nice, bright office next to his house, not far from the freeway exit for Trader Joe's. He's so easy to work with--smart, personable and clear. He knew exactly what needed to be done. I have a backup service, but having done a backup install before, I knew that would take days. Jack took care of everything and had my laptop back to me that same day. There is nothing like the security of knowing your computer is only in the hands of one trustworthy person instead of sitting in a backroom, handed off to someone you've never spoken to. Also, Jack is an authorized Apple tech and his fees are fair. He also helped me choose the right router (I was about to buy something I would have regretted). I have told all my Mac friends about him so I thought I should get around to posting here. Two things you should know: 1) Be sure to call first, he only sees people by appointment and 2) He takes cash and checks, no credit cards. If you have a Mac, this is your guy.

I spent a couple weeks gathering all the components I've been eyeing and made the pilgrimage down to Micro Center (in Tustin) to take advantage of a great MOBO/Proc/RAM bundle. The last time I built a PC was in 2008 and at this point in my life, I just wanted an expert to help me get everything running and optimized. Gar was that expert. This guy knows his stuff and I couldn't be happier with my (first) experience at Helix. He runs the shop by himself and is clearly a lifelong PC enthusiast. It was really cool to see all his customers more 'aesthetic' builds that were in progress. I'm old so I wanted something with as little RGB as possible (haha). He even has a mini museum of PC components from decades past on display which really sent me down a VERY nerdy memory lane. He put together a 9800X3D / 5080 air cooled monster and everything runs perfectly. He optimized Win11 and walked me through everything he did when I picked up the machine. I would consider his shop a unicorn in 2026. Physical location. Passionate business owner who is offering top quality service in a niche industry. Fair prices.

Garnik, the owner, exceeded every expectation. I dropped off my PC at 10 AM and he had it completely diagnosed and fixed by 3:30 PM - same day service when most shops would have kept it for days. But what really impressed me was how Garnik actually took the time to explain everything instead of just doing the work and handing it back. He didn't just slap on new thermal paste and call it done. He properly reapplied the paste, then noticed my fan configuration was all wrong and moved everything to the correct CPU pump headers and fan headers. He walked me through exactly what was causing the thermal problems and how he fixed them, then stress tested the whole system right in front of me so I could see it was running properly. Garnik was super knowledgeable, friendly, and got everything done way faster than I expected. It's honestly rare to find someone who knows their stuff this well and actually takes the time to make sure you understand what's going on with your build. If you need PC repair, building, or troubleshooting in the area, definitely check out HeliX PC. Best experience I've had with a PC shop hands down. Will be coming back for sure!
