Veggies and noodles on the left. All meats mixed with cilantro on the right. They offered pork, beef, chicken, or veal.

Great place. Unique dining experience. Similar to hibachi for the in sure or food shy people. Food was fresh and tasted great. So many sauce options even the pickiest eater can enjoy. We sat outside the ambiance of carton street pedestrian zone was great.

My bf and his friends have been coming here for years and we were able to eat here after my LASIK follow up appointment. I used to go to a spot in Concord for Mongolian bbq so I was pretty excited to try this place out for the first time. We both got two plates of food for only $19.99 a person! The ice cream was also pretty good and came with the price of our meal. If we had more room, we probably would have eaten another one.

I liked the available options to select from. Too bad they didn't offer rice noodles though. There were a good selection of meats, veggies, and sauces. They provide you with recipes of which sauces to mix of you aren't sure. It's fun to make your own choices and watch them cook your food. You can eat as much as you want so my brother and I went back two or three times. I was happy to eat lots of protein. Plus there's soft serve ice cream for dessert. The place was half full at about 6:15pm on a Thursday night. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening. Everyone left very full.

We had a lot of family in town for the holidays and wanted to try a different Mongolian place. We walked in with a party of 17 and the staff was quick to accommodate and stayed on top of clearing our table, etc. The items were refilled often so everything was available and our line moved along even though there was only one person on the grill. Everyone was happy with the food and the service. Also a plus that it is located across from a Paris Baguette for more dessert.

The food here is always delicious. My complaint is that the restroom (unisex) could use a deep cleaning. Also, the hot sauce bottle and the soy sauce bottle at the table need to be cleaned. They are sticky. Yuck. Other than that, the food is yummy and that's why I keep going bac

It's all you can eat. Friday night dinner, $21.99 a person. They have meat: chicken, lamb, pork, & beef, and vegetables: chestnuts, tofu, broccoli, bean sprouts, green peppers, onions and a few more to choose from. I would put meat in one bowl and vegetables in the other so you know what you have. The noodles are at the end. Then there's ladles of sauce to choose from. You bring up your raw food and the guy at the end puts it on a big round grill and cooks it up for you. My son complains he puts all the sauces on and the cook waters it all down when he pours his pitcher of water over it while cooking because the sauces are already watered down and the flavor isn't strong enough. There is a pot of rice and egg rolls too, if you prefer rice instead of noodles. I think it's okay occasionally but my family really likes Mongolian bbq.

So glad to have found an ayce Mongolian bbq spot close by. Back in college, we had a Mongolian grill and it was one of my favorite options when everything else didn't quite fit my taste buds. There's a variety of meats and veggies to choose from along with amazing sauces and spices to flavor up your noods. They also have a soft serve machine to definitely save some space Staff is very friendly and the chef is quick so you'll have a hot bowl of noodles ready in no time. It's a very spacious restaurant so plenty of spots to chose from

Tried out this AYCE mongolian bbq place for Friday dinner and had some nice seating outdoors. It's fully shaded with a light breeze, and some guy playing piano (probably only on Friday evenings) making for a nice ambiance. Food is all picked yourself using one or two bowls and then mixed and cooked by their chef on the stove. You can go back all you want, and they have an ice cream machine with cones for dessert. Most of the food was decent, a couple ingredients were questionable on their quality/freshness like the pineapple. Ice cream was a bit more like donut cream tasting, but all the food was still acceptable. Service was very fast and friendly.

We came on a Friday at lunch time and we were the only two people in the place. It reminded us of the Santa Clara location that closed down. The food was great, just how we remembered. The service was great, very friendly, very quick and efficient. We will be coming back with friends and family. They even have ice cream!

The food is amazing!!! Well, you can get one or two bowls. For me, I got two bowls. One for the meat and one for the noodles since the noodles would be hard to fit with the meat. There is a recommendation for the sauce for your meat but I prefer to do it yourself and it will taste amazing!!! If you like corn, I low-key do not get it with your Mongolian BBQ because once it is cooked it is super hard to bite. The service is okay. The chef cooking your meal is super nice and will get your food as quickly as possible which is a plus. However, I was annoyed that the cashier gave us only two napkins when there is three of us. To me, it sounds like he was very stingy with giving napkins. Like why are you only giving us a few napkins? This is worth trying if you want some AYCE Mongolian BBQ

Karina S.

One of the most affordable AYCE options in the Bay Area! Had a great dine-in experience here for a Sunday dinner- the staff were super friendly and let us cook multiple bowls of ingredients since we came in near closing so we could keep eating past closing time. Solid selection of protein (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, tofu) and vegetables. The chef was so efficient and cooked the meat perfectly. Pretty casual dining environment, and other than the cooked ingredient bowls, there are eggrolls, rice, and vanilla ice cream available for AYCE as well. Amazing value, definitely will be back!

My meal with lots of bean, sprouts and mushrooms, so delicious.

The prices are very reasonable for the meats, and they have a variety of limitless sauces you can grab. The only negative is that the sides can be better, but that's fine - totally into going pure meat for them! We typically get the 3 meat plates because it's a great value and can feed two. I sometimes can even share one with my parents. All their meats taste equally good. Our favorites are the beef brisket and pork ribs, but their pulled pork and smoked chicken are very moist, tender, and flavorful as well. We sometimes get a hot link on the side, as it's smooth with a good snap and spice. You can request it to be sliced. The grilled chicken breasts are not as tender as the other meats, but still has a good barbecue flavor - I imagine you'd get this if you need to eat lean. For sides, the mac & cheese, baked beans, and corn muffin are our favorites. The mac has a chunky and thick Velveeta-like coating, the beans have a strongly sweet and smoky robust flavor, and the corn muffin has a soft texture. The slaws are more vinegary, and the other sides are something you'd expect from your local grocer's prepared food section. Another thing that Capelo's Barbecue does well are the sauces - they have four types that escalate in heat. They all have very different flavor profiles and are on the sweet and tangy side, but I like them all. Their spiciest sauce is not that bad and does have some natural sweetness, but you should have water ready anyways because it's the spice that slowly grows on your tongue. The employees are extremely nice and efficient, both from the food truck and brick and mortar in Redwood City. One day when we came in for a pickup order, they were celebrating an employee's birthday and offered everyone a slice of cake! I wouldn't be surprised if I went to the South and had better BBQ, but we're in Northern California so I'll note Capelo's as amongst the best I've had in the bay (I've tried a lot of them). It seems they sporadically have live music at their dine-in location (which closes late for a barbecue place), so I hope to join them sometime in the summer for that! Their schedule is posted on their website, and they also have both indoor and outdoor seating, and a beer garden. Parking is not that bad, since they're away from downtown and have their own small lot. Their food truck roams around the entire bay, but I especially love partaking when they go to my local Off the Grid.

They use fresh woods to grill their meats in the back, which i was excited to see as I walked inside. We were greeted upon arrival and sat at their many booth tables. The simple wall portraits, the front counter, and southern music brought a southern accent to the restaurant which added to their charm. They promptly tended to our orders and customers started trinkling in for the next 30 min. We ordered the classic beef ribs, pulled pork, and sliced briskets with a side of coleslaw and rice. We were excited to try their many sauces at the table. They had a mustard sauce that paired nicely with the brisket and pulled pork. The sweet, honey bbq and the spicy bbq paired nicely with the ribs. Only let down was the meats didnt have enough of that wood-smoked taste i was hoping for. Additionally, the coleslaw was was bland and the taste and consistency to it, so probably would skip it next time. Other than that, I wouldnt mind coming back to try more off their menu. :)

The all-you-can-eat is the move here. The meat quality is solid--the wagyu beef and spicy pork belly usually hit the spot on the grill. On the hot pot side, the pork bone broth is a safe bet, and the spicy broth actually has a decent kick to it. Also, they have those little fried buns with condensed milk that are dangerously good. They give ice cream at the end with a cone which is sweet dessert. The vibe is super lively and loud, definitely not a quiet dinner spot. They even have those robots rolling around bringing out plates, which is kind of funny to watch. Service is quick; you just order everything on your phone and it shows up fast. Just remember the 90 minute limit. It's clean, modern, and you'll definitely leave feeling like you need a nap. I understand that it might be intentional so it can be customizable from the big variety of sauces at the sauce bar. But I would say its very lacking. No salt, no depth. Almost like flavored water. - Portions are okay. It's AYCE so it makes sense that their portions are smaller. but it is much smaller than places ive been to. Please be mindful when you decide which meat to be on the grill as majority of them is to be for hotpot. so it will dissolve on the grill the moment you realize it. - Meat quality is fine for AYCE. However there are some thats a bit questioning. The spicy beef is just the thinniest slices that are marinaded in the chili oil. But after cooking the texture and even flavor is very very off. I highly recommend getting the Finger Cubes BBQ (i think), nice blend of fat and meat and def the most flavorful. - ORDERING SYSTEM is a nightmare. Since the portions are so small, you would have to order multiple rounds and there is a time block apparently so you dont over order. But the system is so slow and not intuitive at all. At first i thought they are just opened and would give it some time to improve. But now i dont see myself coming back at all.

I also learned they are called 10 Butchers because of the 10 different cuts from the cow. Green Onion Pancake - This served as a good meat palate cleanser. However, if I had known beforehand that they served similar mini pancakes as a side small plate, I wouldn't have ordered this as an appetizer. Wagyu Dumplings with Rice Cake - This was also good to have aside from the KBBQ. The flavor was simple yet comforting. One order is good for 4 people. Banchan - All were great! My personal fave was the yellow dried squid or fish with black sesame seeds. And that mashed purple yam thing was also good. I just wish they told us what each dish was. Like I didn't know what to do with the bowl with apple water? Service - As someone who has been fortunate enough to experience KBBQ in Seoul, this was the closest to it. Having the restaurant staff cook the bbq for you ensures the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
