Uhm, no. I'll just take my business elsewhere. I would rather pay more to give my money to someone else. I walked in during some soccer event where all the employees were out at the front greeting people. One of the employees was told to assist me when I came to look at shoes. The girl whowas told to help me glumly walked in to assist me but looked like it was such a chore for her. I asked for a specific model since she didn't look like she was up for fitting me with specific shoes for my feet problems (plantar fasciitis and bunions from overpronation.) I didn't know my sizing as it ran different from company to company and she just stood there waiting for me to pick a size instead of offering to measure my feet. I ended up telling her 6 and 6.5 while also requesting both normal and wide widths, and she didn't even bother bringing more than just the 6.5 in wide. It was too big so I asked for a 6 in wide and normal and she just brought a 6 normal after looking annoyed. Also here's something gross: I asked her for tester socks and she said they didn't have any. Then she said "oh wait!" She walked over to a pair of rolled up socks on a chair and she started unrolling and smoothing them out. They were clearly used. I said "Uhmmm are those used?" And she nodded and I declined them. She rolled her eyes as if I shouldn't be expecting laundered testers. She was annoyed I didn't want to put on someone else's socks! That's so gross! Someone else's toe sweat and possible feet fungus are in there and she expected me to happily put them on. She wasn't even going to tell me they were used until I asked! Midway through helping me she went to talk to another customer. I had went home and brought in my custom orthotics specifically to come here to be helped. Had I known it was going to be such a failure, I would've just ordered the shoes online. The point of going to a specialty store is to gain further knowledge and insight from the employees who work there. I went to another running store for another brand of shoes prior to New Balance and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted and sat down. They gave me a gait test and fitted me for their shoes. They also encouraged me to bring in my orthotics for a second testing to see how much my orthotics would've corrected my pronation (hence why I brought them into New Balance.) Oh, they let me use fresh laundered socks too because they figured most customers come to the store to acquire shoes, not athlete's foot. I'm so sorely disappointed and turned off by this location. I read all the reviews and it seemed really hit or miss. The assistant managers and managers seem to have excellent reviews and the regular employees seem to be duds. So disappointed. read more

Do your feet have issues? Then New Balance is the place to take them and Ben is the man with the plan. An expert fit and an impressive spectrum of shoes to compensate for the oddities that inhibit performance or cause a wince with every step you mince. Yeah, the kicks in there are quite spendy, but the paradigm "You get what you pay for" applies here in spades. I used to think I could figure out how to pick out a pair of action shoes for my overtaxed horse hooves, but I've blown enough cashish on Reeboks and Saucanys that felt great in the store and then tortured me evermore to leave it to the NB pros. After Ben and I worked with nine different pairs of New Balance shoes, my feet walked me out of there with a renewed resolve to hit it hard. And often. I still don't love the treadmill, but at least my feet don't hate it. read more

I used to wear New Balance as my daily shoe on the recommendation of a physical therapist, but recently had switched to Asics. I decided to check out the New Balance store, to see what I'd been missing. I have jumpers knee, which can be very painful without good shock absorption. I have been working with an orthopedist and physical therapist to get the issue under control. I knew the features I needed, but there was no information available to help me make a decision. The model I used to get is no longer made. I was "helped" by the store manager who decided that my issue must be overpronation, and she simply brought out shoes to address her diagnosis. Even in terms of color, I was left out of the selection process. She wouldn't give me information, or address the things I told her I needed in a shoe. It became apparent that I wouldn't really have a choice but to purchase from the two sets of shoes she brought out. She tried to upsale me a pair of inserts, which, in the short time I walked about the carpet were already affecting my knee. I let her know that they were not comfortable, and she insisted it was what i needed. I tried to be polite and said "I need to think about these" as a way of getting out of the shop. She gave a sigh and turned away quickly, as if to let me know that I had wasted her time, unnecessary theatrics on top of a surreal retail experience. I'll definitely not return to this shop, and I wonder if New Balance has the same priorities it once had. There are other brands of comfortable running shoes and much better service in the local area. It's best to shop around. read more

The NB Minimus 80's that I bought from Jeremy are still going strong, but I needed a shoe with a little more cushioning and support. So I went back to NB Pasadena. Jeremy no longer worked there, but I met a dude named Kenny. Kenny took the time to re-measure my foot using their high-tech device (even though they had my info stored already). Turns out that we got a slightly different read this time. Good news. I wound up with a pair of 810v3 all-terrain shoes and some SuperFeet inserts. And they're great. Not a fully-cushioned shoe, but just enough so that I have more padding than a minimal shoe, with an all-terrain sole to, um, boot. Yeah. This is where it gets interesting. Most of my running takes place around the Silver Lake reservoir. I've been running it for about four years but I never seem to be able to make it all the 2.2 miles way around. I break it into two pieces usually, and walk uphill or downhill. Well since getting these new shoes, I've been able to run continuously around the reservoir for the entire 2.2 miles. It feels amazing. And while it might be hyperbole to say that the new shoes are solely (ha, another pun) responsible, they definitely played a part in my new running feats. Great store, knowledgeable staff. I've got pretty wide feet and little to no arch so after destroying myself with a crappier pair of shoes, I broke down and went to NB for a pair of shoes that could help me handle the rigor of training for a marathon. The dude who helped me out took one look at my shoes, asked me how much I was running and asked me how I had made it as far as I had. He pulled out a few models geared for distance running, all of which were about as pricey as I was expecting ($100-150). OF COURSE the ones that fit best and worked for my needs were on the more expensive side... This of course isn't including the Smart Feet insole ($30ish) that I needed to help with pronation issues. As much as I'd love to piss and moan about the cost, they were fantastic and it was quite clear that this dude knew his stuff and set me up with an amazing pair of shoes. All in, I've probably bought 4-6 pairs of more casual shoes for the same cost as the 2 that I've purchased from NB, but results are results. Longer runs, fewer aches and pains and quicker recovery have turned marathon training from a challenging chore to a pleasure. read more

I visited yesterday to do an online return. I was helped right away and was tended to so patiently. I have been having pain in my feet lately and noticed that the shoes I have been wearing offer me little to no support. After explaining that to the girl who was helping me, she was able to recommend a couple of shoes to me. I also explained to her that I was interested in purchasing insoles to offer more support. So she used a machine that takes a mold of your feet to determine which insole would be best for me. My reading showed that I had a very low arches and she also noticed when I was talking to her my feet were pronating (caving inward). After her suggestions and my foot analysis, I chose the 857's which are perfect for my job and the blue insoles. Their is a HUGE difference already and I can't thank the New Balance team enough for their patience and hospitality. I owe my comfort to them. read more

I never thought a shoe store would inspire me to write a Yelp review, but this one did. I had to return some sneakers that didn't fit. It was my fault because I just walked in, grabbed a pair of 10.5s, and bought them. Turns out this particular model (NB 990s, I think) runs small. Or my foot has grown. All I know is these shoes were too tight, and I needed to return them. But I'd lost the receipt. Womp womp. The store managers were cool, though. They let me trade in my old shoes for a size that fit. And this time, they had one of the staff members measure my foot. I didn't realize that a guy in his late 30s needed to measure his shoe size anymore, but it made all the difference. I'm an 11.5, so they grabbed me a new pair and sent me on my way. I have to stress how friendly the whole exchange was. I wasn't looking to run some type of shoe scam, but I'm so prepared to be treated like that just because that tends to be the nature of customer service these days. But these guys took me at my word and were helpful the whole time. And they know their stuff, too. They'll ask you how you plan on using the kicks -- treadmill, outdoor, running or other exercise, etc. -- and then get you the perfect shoe for it. I love being able to trust the salesperson. So there you have it. If you're looking to buy some running shoes, this is the place I recommend. The staff at New Balance treats their clientele as royalty. Each guest is helped individually by knowledgeable staff who will assist you in finding the perfect shoe for your feet and training purposes. I came to the store knowing virtually nothing about shoe support. My helper was a skillful man named Rene. The consultation began with Rene asking me to step on a device connected to a computer screen. This device measures the length, width, balance and arc of your foot. Rene was very patient and procedural making sure every step was done correctly and answering any questions I had on the results of the scans. He then used that information combined with my training goals to select four different pairs of shoes that he tied on to my foot. I was able to walk/ jog throughout the store. He let me try them on several times and even helped me with getting proper arch support in the shoe. The resulting price is high, but the service matches the price exactly. There is even a two week grace period given for me to wear the shoes and see if they work. New Balance ensures that EVERY guest walks away with their feet happy. Had a great experience this afternoon with Assistant Manager Cesar! I have a REALLY WIDE and flat foot that no other brand can fit! I am very loyal to the NB brand because when you get a shoe that fits, their shoes never disappoint! These shoes are an investment, but totally worth it if you're serious about avoiding pain and/or injury. I walked in looking for something totally different than the typical geriatric style shoe that I'm usually limited to due to my size, and Cesar was very eager to help. He approached me just a few minutes after I had arrived. He listened to my very specific needs and had great recommendations. He measured my foot just to make sure I had the right size, and took the time to educate me in size equivalencies in men's shoes for more options. He even recommended some great insoles to replace the worn out ones in my 1540s that have now brought new life to my favorite shoes! I love this New Balance store. I've had several employees help me now in the few times I've been in and they've all been excellent and knowledgeable. Twice they've had to order something special for my odd feet. The first thing ended up not working. I brought them back and was able to return them without a problem. Ended up with something else that would be better, but they didn't have the color I wanted, so they ordered them. Also, they have this great policy where you get 14 days to "lightly use" the shoes; if they don't work, you return them and get a full refund. Otherwise, you have 60 days to return in new condition. New Balance shoes are expensive, and you might be able to find them online or elsewhere on sale or a bit cheaper, but the return policies and the excellence of the staff here make it worth your money to come get them here. read more

If you have a narrow foot, forget New Balance, I know they are one of the few firms making narrow shoes. The last pair of 847v that I bought 3 days ago, arrived and they look like CLOWN SHOES,---they may be 91/2-B but they are huge, I compared them size wise with a 10 1/2-D and they are larger & I paid $135.00 + tax for clown shoes. read more

I barely learned to bike this past summer and I've been extremely impressed with both times I've been to the Pasadena Trek Store. Their enforcement of social distancing and cleaning people's hands before they come in is comforting and the professionalism of each person I've interacted with is great. I took in a used bike to get tuned up and have some parts upgraded and they took the time to chat with me and explain what needs to be fixed along with answering my beginner questions. I highly recommend this place for anything bike related, even as simple as getting a flat fixed. They are really friendly people. read more

I really like this store. I used to buy my tennis shoes at a sporting goods place that always advertises inexpensive shoes, including New Balance. Somehow, the NB shoes seems to be of much better quality here. Go figure. The sales people here are very knowledgeable and super helpful. They measured my foot, and to my dismay, I have been getting shoes that have been too big for me for years. Since I was sized correctly, my feet no longer hurt. Amazing what a good pair of shoes and correct fit will do. I have also bought a couple pairs of insoles. They watched me walk, and then measured me for them. I am on my feet all day long, and since purchasing the insoles, I can work for 16 hours and not have my feet sore at all. This review is long overdue. May 14th, I came to the store with a prescription from my podiatrist, and the feeling of concern. As I am used to buying from Foot Locker, Big 5, etc. I was skeptical of what to expect of the staff when I gave them my requirements. Then I met Adam. He must be a Physical Therapist or a doctor, he is absolutely amazing. First off, I was acknowledged when I first walked in--normally I am completely invisible until I walk up to the register with shoes I picked out and tried on by myself. :-) I have the best fitting, arch-supporting, comfortable-width, best feeling shoes that I have ever owned in my life. I have made several shopping trips to this store and have always had a positive experience. The customer service is great and there is no high pressure sales attitude. For a more precise fit they can scan your foot and really dial things in. The prices are sometimes a bit more expensive than a site like Zappos, but depending on the shoe I have had them price match before. Do be aware that with shoes it is an exchange or store credit only situation, but they have gladly swapped shoes to make sure I got something that fit properly. They also have a rewards program so be sure to sign up for that. read more

I have had 5 knee survey's along with a bad back and my feet always hurting. I did research on tennis shoes and found out New Balance would be the best for my issues. I didn't just want to go to a regular store I wanted to get professional help I'm getting the right shoe for my feet. I found this store through Yelp with high recommendations. when I arrived I was greeted by Ben the assistant manager I explained what I was looking for and hoping to accomplish he did the 3D of my feet recommended the inserts along with a good pair of walking running tennis shoes. I spent about an hour in the store and walked out with two good pairs of tennis shoes with inserts. Ben was very knowledgeable very courteous very kind and nice and very professional and helped me out a lot. I'm looking forward to having no more feet problems and hopefully this will help with my knee and comfort on a daily basis. I will be taking my family and boyfriend in. New Balance is one of my favorite American brands. The Pasadena branch is the best location I've visited in LA. Convenient parking and an uncrowded, quiet space is a respite from the organized chaos of the Santa Monica branch. I was assisted by Rene, who is a true professional, getting me in and out of the store in record time. His explanations in response to my numerous questions were helpful and thorough. Rene harmonizes efficiency with patience which is a difficult balancing act. The other employees were also speedy and hands-on.
