I've bought shoes here several times. Twice a year I get a coupon in the mail that is good for $25 off a pair of shoes. I have a problem buying shoes because I have narrow feet. If they don't have the shoes in stock they will order them for me at no extra cost. They are very patient, don't rush you to make a selection, and they are not pushy. I needed some new everyday shoes -- not athletic, not formal -- and spent a day going from shoe store to shoe store, with nothing fitting right. The big-name athletic brands were too squishy; the cheap shoes are too floppy; the fancy shoe store casual shoes lifted at the heel. Nothing was right. We had seen the SAS store on Rosemead, so we said, "Why not". And as soon as I put on their casual shoe...it fit!! It's not squishy, but nice and firm in the sole. The upper fit perfectly to my feed, and they are very solid. The shoes I bought that day have lasted so well that I went back and bought 2 more pairs. The shoes are not cheap. They told me that they do not carry any women's shoes above size 9 because their clientele is on the smaller side. So I couldn't try on any shoes. This seemed very weird since this is supposed to be a specialty shoe store. Also, parking is difficult. Mother needed some new shoes for work since the ones she bought from Chinatown were uncomfortable. (Uh, you think mom?!) Anyways, dad and I finally dragged her to spend a bill on a pair of shoes that would be worth it and so we took her here since one of my dad's friends recommended it. BEST. SAS. SHOES. STORE. YOU'LL. EVER. FIND.!!! Upon walking in the feel of the store was just ADORABLE. Not sure if that is the correct term to use but to me it was adorable. A lover of all things old/from the past/vintage this store was filled with antiques and furniture/decor including chairs, shelves, a Cracker Jacks machine, Coka Cola Machine (10 cents), natural pop corn (5 cents), water machine, and a few other goodies. GREG, the owner and sales man was super friendly. Upon entering the store he approached us and sat down, measured my mom's feet, helped her tie her shoe laces and gave her a few options to choose from. He was super patient with her and my grinch-y dad. Love him! We received $15 off and a SAS chocolate truffle! (How cute is THAT?!) +I was given free pop corn and assitance to that Coka Cola machine since I had no idea how to retrieve it after putting a dime in, hehe. The customer service here is amazing! My husband is on his feet all day and was in search of a comfortable shoe. A relative recommended SAS shoes, so we decided to give it a shot. These shoes make a world of difference according to my hubby. He swears by them and the constant discomfort in his feet he used to come home with is no longer an issue. You can tell the employees at SAS really care about their customer's feet. During a more recent visit, my hubby tried on a pair of shoes, but they were a little wide. I think most stores would've tried to sell them anyway, just to make a sale, but not SAS. The gentleman helping us admitted that it wouldn't be good for my hubby's feet and recommended a narrow model, which needed to be ordered. I admire and appreciate his honesty. To top it off, the décor is pretty cool. I felt like I was on an episode of American Pickers as they have lots of vintage items on display! Quality and price are not under discussion. But I asked Gina for thin socks in a way my mother could try a pair of tennis. She came with a pair of used socks and when I mentioned "is disgusting that you offer this to a customer". Her answer was: "we always wash this socks, SIR." This was the first shopping day for my mother after the pandemic. I gave 5 stars because other people working there and the products deserve it. It was me and my mom's first time here. Walked in and no one greeted us. Which didn't bother me.... but then seconds later an old white couple came in and was greeted right away and she asked them if they needed help on finding a certain pair and that she can find out their size by taking measurements. I was completely appalled by the way she acted towards us. I'm not racist or anything but I got a cold vibe from her. Maybe because we're Asians or a different race besides "white" ...so she treated us like we didn't even existed when we walked in. Meanwhile, we walked around the store deciding on what pairs to buy. Still, the lady did not acknowledge us. My mom wanted to buy 2 pairs then the lady passed by and asked me "how are you?" I said "I'm fine, thanks" and then she left us cold. I'm pretty sure she was just asking to see if we knew any english. When we walked out of the store because of horrible customer service... of course she didn't say thank you or bye... And she was sitting right next to the door! I hope the manager view back the camera to see what I'm talking about. That sucks that we have to encounter this racist human being. And if they don't have the size or width that you need, then they will order them for you and have them delivered to the store with a very quick turn around time. These are very high quality shoes that will last forever and are worth every penny. And the shoes are extremely comfortable and are especially good for people who suffer from foot/ankle pain and/or neuropathy. Upon the recommendation of several people who already had SAS shoes, I gave my mother a couple of different pairs as gifts and she was pleasantly surprised at just how supportive they are while at the same time being very comfortable.
