I found two pairs of cute, supportive sneakers. While I was deciding between them, I'm told there's a 40% off sale. Yes, I take them both now! Fun thing is that the store were in the middle of doing a kick off event transitioning the store to include affordable retro clothes and streetwear. They had a fun dj and even offered us free pizza. While the store is trendy it's a mellow welcoming atmosphere without high pressure sales or pretentious people. This place has great selection in Vans, Adidas, Birkenstocks, and Uggs. A lot of shoe stores now a days are corporate owned and this place is small business owned. I'm a huge supporter of small businesses and I like that they're around to keep it going. They were previously Neo 39, now they're just Neo Pasadena. I love that the aesthetics of the place change. They even added roses to represent Pasadena. The way the shoes and gear is lined up doesn't make you feel overwhelmed with trying to look for the type of shoes you want. There's a guy name Rei and he's super helpful. He definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to shoes. I will definitely be coming back here for all my sneaker needs. I was a long time customer of Neo 39 in my Air Jordan hoarding days. Moses the owner knew me by name and I would make weekly stops to Old Town Pasadena... This new location is a bit tricky to find and I knew what I was looking for. The foldout metal sign for NEO on the street is easily missed by the brightness that is the T-Mobile store. It's so bright, that it is distracting... So if you cannot find it, just look for the T-Mobile store and look for the stairs leading down towards the left side of the entrance. It's smaller, waay smaller than the old Neo 39 space. It definitely looks more curated. With the more limited footwear behind the counter on display. They have a decent selection of Nike and Adidas. Other brands are also represented. There are some apparel and a few accessories for sale. Long gone is the clutter that was the old store... It's definitely a different vibe at this new space. A lot of brown, a lot of wood. It's a clean design. It's just a hard store to find even being familiar with the area and where to expect the store to be. read more

What I like about Neos is that I can get a color that is not easily found, like a peach-pink or a navy blue gummed sole. NEO relocated to a basement, right next to T- Mobile. At first it was a little hard to find, Google maps was making me take a back alley way. Anyways, the reason for the three stars is because their selections in shoes decreased and their new location even though it looks nice, the store is half the size that it use to be. I was recently there the day Nike released the Air Jordan XII "Wool" I was surprised they had them because Nike had sold out and the line for them was not long at all. I will be keeping an eye out for other shoes that are hard to get, maybe I can get them from NEO. read more

Although my previous experiences with the new location were poor, I can definitely appreciate when a business is willing to grow together with their community. I was given the opportunity to shop at the store again and had a much better experience. Luis and Eddie ensured that I got the experience they want all customers to feel and it was nothing short of amazing. If it was not for the kind girl who helped me with my shoes, I would have cursed him out. Advise to management - listen to your customers because we pay to keep the light on.
