I'm not a big suit guy, I don't really know what's good or not. I just have some general knowledge about how a suit should fit, and some things to look for. With that said, I had a really pleasant experience recently with Men's Suit Outlet. I went in, got greeted straight away, and it was down to business. John helped me out. Asked me some basic questions about what the suit was for, when I needed it by, what sort of price range I was after, etc. He quickly narrowed down exactly what I needed. Had me try on a jacket to start. It fit pretty much perfectly, no adjustments needed. Then it was on to pants. The pants ran long, but that's to be expected... everyone has different length legs. It would be a bit much to expect them to carry lengths for every leg size. We got a pair that fit my waist well, but was a bit tight in the thighs and calves. John let me know they could let it out a bit. The cost for tailoring the pants was reasonable and competitive. They had the suit ready for me within a few days. I think they likely could have done the tailoring faster if I requested, but I wasn't in a last minute rush so it was fine. Overall I was really happy with my experience and my purchase. The suit looks great on me. Best fitting suit I've probably ever owned. I used to just buy off the rack suits that always fit a bit weird and looked a bit silly. The tailored look really takes it to the next level. So if you're a guy who doesn't wear a lot of suits, wants a nice suit for a budget price, then you should be pretty happy getting a suit here. That's not to say if you are a suit guy with a bigger budget that you can't find stuff here. They certainly had much fancier suits that I certainly couldn't afford. I just thought it was important to point out that they can help out guys who might be a bit intimidated by the whole process.

Lucked out with this place as it's very well within my geographical orbit. Parking is street and in the back (entrance is through a one-way alley), but the back has only a tight, few spots. So you're best off with parking out front on Colorado Blvd. Store is bigger than what it looks like from the outside. Very nice, clean, and well organized. I was greeted by Jack, who was very courteous and helpful. I gave him the low-down on what I was looking for and he immediately found a couple of pieces for me that not only would work just fine for the "mafia" theme (I went the modern, sharp gangster look), but would work on other occasions as well. The slim-fit, three-piece I picked out fit almost perfectly, but Jack did some measurements and said he would be able to alter everything for me so that it was a nice, custom fit. The store had a nice selection of shirts and shoes, so I picked those up as well. The suit and all the other items, plus alterations, came out to a very reasonable price. They offer blazers, tuxes, coats, and other fashion-forward items in different colors that will make me want to come back for sure. Definitely recommend this place!

Freenote is a small family business run by brothers Matt and Andrew Brodrick. They pay close attention to detail with every garment they produce. If its not up to standard, they usually will sell those pieces at an incredible discount or discontinue them altogether until they are produced to perfection. You may be wondering why I, am writing a review about a menswear store? Well, not only do they sell quality clothing, but many of their items can be considered unisex. Not only that, but they sell amazing smelling candles, bath/home products, Redwings, and sunglasses (for ladies AND gents) You can catch the owners occasionally in the shop, but when you go you'll most likely run into Greg. He helps manage their Highland Park location. He is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, and will always go out of his way to help you out with anything you may have questions about, or to order your size. This isn't one of those establishments that make you feel like an outsider, or judged. Like many other denim or "cool" menswear shops can do. When you come into Freenote you'll be treated like family.

Currently they are having a up to 60% off items on sale now and they are also selling their store furnishing too. I have visited this location numerous of times over the years and have always appreciated that Orvis is dog friendly and have good quality items. On my recent visit (this past Saturday), my husband and I, along with our little girl dog, were greeted by several employees and asked if our little girl would like a dog treat (unfortunately because of her sensitive stomach, we had to declined but I appreciate the gesture). We ended up purchasing a few items for our dog at 50% off, which was nice. But didn't see any clothing that I was interested in, or my husband. It is too bad that this location is closing. There really aren't that many Orvis retail stores but plenty of authorized sellers of this company. If you want to stop and shop one more time, please make sure you do before this location closes up for good.
