I have never had a better experience in a clothing store than I did today. I've always walked past this store, assuming it was a small space, and never bothered to walk in--until now. Let me just say, it's actually a huge store with a massive selection and amazing employees. I hope I'm not butchering her name, but I think it was Glenda. She was one of the associates who helped me that day, and she is the sweetest person ever. She genuinely seemed to care about what I was saying and what I was looking for. Glenda helped me find the perfect 40-liter backpack-duffel bag combo. Even though they didn't have the color I wanted, she checked in the back and then let me know she could order it for me instead. I just want to say thank you to her, and I'm so glad I finally came in (give ya girl Glenda a raise lol). I'll definitely be coming back to check out more items. Every item feels like it was designed by a monk who also summits peaks before breakfast. Jackets? So warm they could hug your soul. Pants? More flexible than my moral compass at a buffet. Even the socks feel like they're judging me for not recycling properly -- and honestly, I respect that. The staff? Wilderness gurus disguised as retail employees. Always been a North face and Columbia person. But then everyone around me started getting fancy and got Patagonia. Heard a lot of great things about this company, fighting global warming and trying to source locally, without offending indigenous people, but... Bought a few on sale, the better sweater. The company's most popular and best seller for its quality and endurance. Yet it only after 2 months of using it, it shrank and became wavy all over. Knowing they have an amazing return/exchange policy I wasn't worried. I called the store up and they said just bring it in to see what they can do for me. So far so good. Brought it in and was told they're just going to refund me because I shouldn't be able to get a new one for a full price. Like as if my on sale better sweater was a knock off, and the one they have is so much better and I don't deserve it. Don't you guys just change the color? They didn't even feel bad that their quality sucked. Why judge based on how much I bought it for? Dude was having so much trouble on the computer trying to refund me when you can just do what your company touts: exchange for a new one. Like it's that hard. Not the company I believed them to be. Quite frankly there are only two categories harbored within the store's walls... 1. The extremely well-designed and functional things that I also define as true ultralight equipment and then there is everything else. During my recent visit I tried on, compared and weighed the Micro and Nano Puff jackets for my 2024 Pacific Crest Trail bid. The staff was awesome and helped me acquire the data in which I sought. Was looking for a particular puffer jacket that I couldn't find at another chain store, but guess what - I found it here! They were knowledgeable as heck! A cool thing that I found out they do, they sell little gift bag/sacks in different sizes that are made out of leftover materials! They are great for dirty laundry on trips, or just bags for carrying things. We bought a tote bag and gifted it in one of these up-cycled bags with strings and it was a hit! Horrendous service at this store. I waited in line forever to pay for something. The two checkers were chit chatting with customers. One seemed to be doing a repair. When I told one of the salespeople that there were several people in line waiting to pay for their items, she just made all sorts of lame excuses. Get another checker if someone is repairing a customer's jacket. How hard can that be??? I called Matt, the assistant manager, after the experience, and he was incredibly rude, condescending and unprofessional, telling me that if I'm not willing to wait 15-20 minutes to pay for an item, rather than doing their jobs efficiently they don't want my business! I told him that another customer in line before me was frustrated as well. Unbelievably, Matt -- who must be genius -- told me that me and one other customer "did not constitute a majority of the store" and therefore did not give my complaint any credence, as if I should have taken an informal survey in the store for him to do anything! I will be contacting their corporate office about the poor service at this location as well as Matt's rude and condescending response. read more

That is what I like about my experience there. During my latest trip there, I had a $100 Patagonia gift card my best friend gave me for my birthday and I had been eyeing a particular vest. April helped me not only find the M's down sweater vest, she also advised me on care and wash instructions on it during checkout and also tried to help me track down a jacket I had seen at another store. They had yet to stock that particular style but I appreciated April's help in trying to track down exactly what I was looking for. I received a 15% off coupon in the mail, and wanted to see what they had. To my surprise, there was a stack-able special 30% off in the sale section. The selection is good, but seems to be more on the larger sizes. The salesman was so helpful and knew the products well. The store is clean and well organized and even has an elevator for the two-steps to another area.
