And this one I had to grab for myself

The guy in the cowboy hat was very nice. Pleasant guy to talk to. I go in there all the time to get random things because I'm an actor and he knows exactly what I'm trying to explain and I'm not that good at explaining it. I even had a camping trip with two hot girls and I had nothing. In five minutes I had everything all put together and stuff I ended up needing that I didn't know I would. He made me look like the king of the wilderness! So thank you for that! The prices there are very good. And plenty to choose from. My suggestion is to ask for help because the place is big. There's a big selection.

This is one of few surplus stores in LA County. [Parking]: Easy and free street parking. Apparently there is parking in the back alley. [Pros]: You'll find most of basic needs on military gears, flags, patches, etc. [Cons]: I came here for earthquake emergency kits and I was disappointed with available options. I only found one prebuilt earthquake kit and the shop had limited selection on MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat). In addition, some of items (e.g. beanies) were overpriced comparing with other surplus shops I had visited. Some sections had empty shelves and customers may not be able to find all of items they want to find here. The Supply Sergeant is a-ok and I would visit The Supply Sergeant in Gardena for prebuilt earthquake kits or The Surplus Store in Culver City for bags/boots/jackets.

Not many of these type of places left. Everything you would expect from an army surplus store. Plenty of clothes and jackets. Web and leather gear. One of those places you could go into twice and see tons of stuff you didn't see the first time. nice guy working there. Conveniently located near a local carwash on Magnolia and a great way to kill time while that's getting done. Didn't purchase anything but I can see myself going back

They have so many cool things to pick from. Definitely a go to place for high quality goods and even a Halloween costume for the kids!

Not sure if he's always like that, but I didn't really take it as rudeness. To me it sounded like the guy has been there for 20 years of experience and knows what you're looking for and goes straight to the point; no time wasted. If you're someone who wants to be spoken to like a child, go somewhere else crybaby. Secondly, they had exactly what I was looking for. A holster and gun belt for my 4.5 Echelon with a TLR-1 HL-X light attachment. The holster fits pretty good for the price. I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect, but that's because the Echelon is just now getting popular, so manufacturers will eventually make more things for the Echelon later down the road. Not a fault of the store; they had exactly what I needed. Thirdly, I wasn't going to write a review, but the young gentleman that helped me out, (handsome Persian guy), with my shopping. When I paid for everything and left the shop, he ran down the block and caught me before I drove away and handed me the tools for my new gun belt I purchased. They could have just allowed me to move on with my day; I didn't even know the tools came with it, but that made me want to write something for this business. The owner of the place has had it for 23 or so years. I like his straightforward approach. No singing or dancing around the topic. Like I said, if you want to be treated like a princess, go to a restaurant and bother a waitress. Come here for real business. Thank you 3 gentlemen that helped me. And thank you Persian man for doing a small but kind gesture.

I wish I got the young gentleman's name because it seemed like he was one of the only ones in the store who 1) knew where things were 2) could perform an assigned task 3) actually help us out. The reason I am saying this is because we went to the cash register upstairs and the cashier was uncertain that the service was downstairs. Not a big deal, she radioed them and confirmed where we could go. Easy. We go downstairs and show that cashier the glove (brand new, just bought for christmas) and that guy did not know how to do the steaming services, which was also fine because he asked another staff member who helped us, HOWEVER, the first guy told us the cost of it (which there is no cost because after a certain price glove it is a free service). The second guy (bless him) corrected him and stated the price of the glove and why it's free. As the worker was breaking in the glove the other guy cashier asked him multiple questions about where things were, if they did certain services, if he could help this other guest. Honestly that cashier guy was doing NOTHING. This is all in the midst of our guy fitting the glove which consists of steaming and banging it with a mallet which could be dangerous! Just seemed like an unprofessional thing to do. Now maybe this guy was new so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but seriously it seemed like he didn't even bother trying to figure it out on his own before turning the the gentleman helping us. All in all the service was great, he was knowledgeable and answered the questions we had! It seemed like there was a large selection of inventory and some decent sales. Guns Direct - Glock 19 in a Custom OD

    Guns Direct

    (953 reviews)

    $$

2nd 5-star Review:…read more I'm in love with GUNS DIRECT. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE I ALWAYS GET HERE. Since my first purchase, I've returned for a rifle with a fixed mag, which I learned before picking up I could have converted to "featureless", so I could use replaceable mags. I asked Ramiro about this, and that's how I learned Ramiro is an armorer, and he walked me through the conversion. He sold me what I later found was the best featureless grip handle on the market, and then he completed the conversion for free with my purchase of the grip handle, and my 2 new replaceable mags. I've really appreciated Ramiro's advice, insights, and the personal experience Ramiro has shared with me , which has all turned out to be valid and true. I have the bruises to prove it. I wanted a KSG. That's how I found GD. Thats how I met Ramiro. He didn't lie to me. He warned me about the recoil on a pump action shotgun like the KSG. I said I'd get used to it. He asked if I was sure. I said "I have to." So not only did he sell me a KSG, he stopped me from getting the scratched unit I was looking at, and got me a blemish-free KSG. As a newbie with no mentor to walk me into this world, I was willing to just buy whatever a knowledgeable salesman would sell me, simply accepting that a scratch was just how firearms sales can sometimes be--but Ramiro didn't let that happen. Ramiro really has been a great guide. He helped me pick my first 9mm--S&W M&P 2.0-and it's such a great firearm. It's solid. Reliable. Accurate. Comfortable. Looks cool. Comes with switchable grips. I bought Trijicon night sights on Amazon, and took over a month to make my way to GD for the install, only to find I had bought sights for the wrong S&W 9mm. Since it had been over 30 days, I couldn't return them, but Ramiro not only found me an alternative option (Ameriglo optic compatible GRM tritium) night sights--but also included the install with the purchase. I love my new Ameriglo night sights on my M&P 2.0 9mm! What a difference. And great bang for your buck. And they are optic-ready sights, so I can add the red dot later on. I appreciated being guided so knowledgeably. I follow Ramiro's lead confidently. And while I was there doing this, Ramiro asks me if I had with me the adapters that came with the streamlight I had on my 9mm, because he was offering to fix the streamlight I improperly installed on my 9mm (which was sticking out too far). I did not have them, so he offered to fix it for me if I just brought the adapters. I really appreciated Ramiro's offer, but more importantly I appreciated him pointing out to me my improper installation. I soon realized I could fix it myself. I've since fixed it, and I have yet again Ramiro to thank. To be clear, every single rep at GD has been helpful and totally professional. I've really appreciated the service I've received. Alonso, Danny, Jerry, Sherri, Alex all super helpful professionals. Alonso and Danny both remembered my name, which is shocking because this place is popular. I love love love Guns Direct. My gun shop for life! I already have my eye on two more firearms, and Jerry even has me thinking about a revolver. And Ramiro makes me want a semiautomatic shotgun. I love it!
