I wish I got the young gentleman's name because it seemed like he was one of the only ones in the store who 1) knew where things were 2) could perform an assigned task 3) actually help us out. The reason I am saying this is because we went to the cash register upstairs and the cashier was uncertain that the service was downstairs. Not a big deal, she radioed them and confirmed where we could go. Easy. We go downstairs and show that cashier the glove (brand new, just bought for christmas) and that guy did not know how to do the steaming services, which was also fine because he asked another staff member who helped us, HOWEVER, the first guy told us the cost of it (which there is no cost because after a certain price glove it is a free service). The second guy (bless him) corrected him and stated the price of the glove and why it's free. As the worker was breaking in the glove the other guy cashier asked him multiple questions about where things were, if they did certain services, if he could help this other guest. Honestly that cashier guy was doing NOTHING. This is all in the midst of our guy fitting the glove which consists of steaming and banging it with a mallet which could be dangerous! Just seemed like an unprofessional thing to do. Now maybe this guy was new so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but seriously it seemed like he didn't even bother trying to figure it out on his own before turning the the gentleman helping us. All in all the service was great, he was knowledgeable and answered the questions we had! It seemed like there was a large selection of inventory and some decent sales. Solid place to find activewear and sporting goods. It's a pretty large store with multiple levels so it's easy to get lost. They won't let you test bikes out which is a bummer but you can sit on the ones already on display on the floor to gauge sizing. Bathroom located by their shoe section. Do not park in the "office parking garage" right next to Dick's! They will require a fee. Park for free on the other side where the mall parking garage entry is. read more

My friends and I stopped by Dicks Sporting Goods because I was interested to see what selections they had for Project Rock gear. When we walked inside, I was looking for his area because at the Northridge location he had a dedicated area. This store did not so that was unfortunate. This store isn't as big as the one in Northridge so I didn't stay long. The store had some stuff but not a lot so I would advise try ordering from the website first and pick store pickup so you'll know if they carry what you want. read more

Customer service at this store is the worst. I bought two expensive rocking camp chairs. I took them out camping and both of them collapsed while people were sitting in them. I took them to the store to return, and told them they were defective. Two people at the counter told me repeatedly that they will not accept used items. When I pressed them on it, they finally admitted that, yes, f the items were defective they would accept a return, but these chairs were not defective. Both of them treated me like a criminal. One big surly guy behind the counter said he would prove to me the chairs were not defective. He put his knee on the seat to prove it. I told him several times that it was "sitting" that caused them to collapse, not "kneeling", but he absolutely refused to sit on them. He kneeled on it several more times, the chair collapsed and he went flying down. I told him that these chairs were very dangerous and he could have been seriously hurt. He declined to risk testing the other chair, and grudgingly gave me a refund. This is how they treat customers returning a defective item. I will not be returning to Dick's. read more

Decided to do a curbside pick up. It's very unclear as to where the pick up actually is. There are spots within the parking structure, but the actual curbside pickup itself is in a loading dock off Central before Broadway. We pull up and go figure that a large garbage dumpster AND a loading truck blocking our way. Two stars for customer service. Employee was very polite, though a heads up that the area was blocked would have been nice. I do not suggest doing curbside pickup. I would have saved so much more time walking in. read more

First time shopping at a Dick's sporting good. Friendly people that could make your transaction easy. That said, they also have inexperience cashiers that could make your purchase a wild goose chase when working with gift cards. I walked out of the store with my purchased item but I ended up paying with money because the cashier could not figure out how to make use of my two gift cards. I used 1 out of 2 gift cards. Now I'm stuck with one gift card and with no plans to return to this store. I'll probably sell the gift card on one of those websites that buys them for less money than what's in the card. read more

Cannot Believe it! Fernando from here really took me out of a jam! What are the odds I get someone that has ran 4 marathons before to help me out! I was extremely lucky. All my marathon gear was stolen from my car Saturday a day before the Long Beach Marathon. I walked in on Saturday night and Fernando really helped me get my stuff together to finish the marathon in 4:54. I used the baby powder tip brother thank you! Great experience and customer service recently for my bike purchase, and big shout out to Angel in the bike dept. Bought a mountain bike online and had it delivered to my house, but 1 of the spokes came bent. Called the store and they were very eager to help. Angel from the bike dept told me to go in whenever, no appointment needed. He helped swap out the broken spoke, and finished building the rest of the bike in roughly 15 mins. read more

I needed camping supplies but wanted to roam the store to check out all the merchandise and was approached by friendly staff asking if I needed help. Very attentive and helpful. Clean and attractive store. Picked up a Yeti water bottle, didn't even walk in there for one. I came back a month later to discuss an issue I had with an item I had to purchase online because it wasn't available in store but the shipper forgot to remove the security tags. Vince understood my concern before I could finish my sentence to the clerk and jumped in with his apology even though it was no fault of his. He took care of me. Vince is an excellent manager! Yes, this Dick's Sporting Goods store is two floors big and offers a great selection of merchandise, but there's definitely room for improvement. 2 stars!! Dick's Sporting Goods now occupies the space vacated by Nordstrom's after Nordstrom's moved to The Americana so this store is pretty huge! Definitely way bigger than the Dick's Sporting Goods in Pasadena and in Torrance. Big, store with lots and lots of merchandise. Pretty much every sport and activity is covered so if you ever need apparel, equipment, etc, this store is a good one to check out. Why just 2 stars though? During the times that I've gone to this location, staff members were a little difficult to find. With such a big store, they definitely need to hire more help. We had to walk through almost th entire store before locating a staff member. In addition, it was apparent that the two staff members needed to more training time to get to know the availability and location of various merchandise throughout the store. We were on the 2nd floor to be told that what we were looking for were in the 1st floor. When we went to the 1st floor, we were told to go back to the 2nd floor! This can be such a wonderful sporting goods store if only there there more staff members available and if the staff were more knowledgeable. Hoping these improvements happen soon! read more

This was my first time at DICK'S and is only based on ordering online and doing curbside pickup here. With COVID, my parents weren't being as active as they'd previously been, so I was on the hunt for a new spin bike for them. DICK'S had some great deals on a Schwinn bike, so I ordered it and requested curbside pickup given the item was super heavy and would need help getting it into my car. When I arrived to the curbside pickup area, which was in a somewhat random loading area, I clicked the link in my email. It asked for the make and model of my car and informed me that someone would be out with my order shortly. Within 8 minutes, I heard a couple employees bringing out my order. The kind gentleman came over and asked to see my ID and confirmation email. Then, they carefully placed my bike in the trunk of my car for me and I was on my way. Dick's has become the place that I dread going to, but is the only sports store within a comfortable radius, and with its online promisings of inventory, I often naively think that they might just have what they've tantalizingly offered as being "IN STOCK"! and it being labor day, and not wanting to wait for shipping etc., the gf and I went to Dick's to get a bicycle tube and possible bicycle tire. We start by calling to make sure they are open (it's labor day, covid-era), and ask if there is a specialist in the bike department. We call, are put on hold, get transferred, the call cuts out, get back to the original person, are again placed on hold, and we decide, eff it, let's just go, holding a bicycle wheel, tire, and partially-inflated inner tube. It's not Dick's fault that it is located on a large intersection with an exterior door but no exterior parking, and it's not their fault that one has to park through a labyrinth of parking structure mazes that don't connect in any way to its entrance, which can be frustrating. Where the fault lies is with the customer service. We make it inside, exultant that we've made it this far, and immediately find the small bike section. An employee seems friendly, and we explain our predicament: a seemingly ill-fitting inner tube and tire for a wheel, all of which we've brought in. He indicates that the inner tube numbers should match the tire, which we agree with. We clarify the tires don't seem to match the actual wheel. We ask for the inner tube that we had seen on the Glendale Dick's website, that indicated that there were 2 currently IN STOCK not ten minutes ago, and ask for that particular size. He looks, says no, and when we ask if there's some in the back, he says no, and that they don't update their inventory numbers that often so it's probably wrong and they don't have it. but hey, if you guys find it he'll install it for free! he then disappears, and though we settle on an in-between size that Is in stock, he is no longer to be found. So far, this has been a typically disappointing Dick's experience. But this is where it gets really bad. We split up so I can get some small panfish hooks and a container of nightcrawlers and am immediately disappointed to find the LIVE BAIT refrigerator completely empty. On a whim, I open the "FROZEN BAIT" freezer and to my shock, find 11 containers of frozen solid nightcrawlers, ice-burned, rotting, and smelling putrid. Shocked, I open every container, and each one is full of frozen and rotting nightcrawlers. Quick sidenote: I like to fish. I have been fishing for some 30 years; I have a fishing youtube channel; I have a worm bin in which I grow red wigglers (a smaller composting worm). I know a bit more than the average person about nightcrawlers, which is the tried-and-true beginner's bait, good to have on hand if all else fails, and the trick with nightcrawlers is, that they are ALIVE. Every fishing store sells plenty of plastic and life-like worms in varying types of scents, but almost nothing beats live bait: a nice, live, wriggling nightcrawler. Live nightcrawlers like cooler temperatures, and go into a sort of cryogenic hibernation when cooled, but cannot live at freezing temperatures. They freeze and die. The containers in which they were stored clearly stated that they were to be stored between 38 and 50 degrees. These, however, were stored at below 32 degrees, died a horrifying death, and likely faced varying temperatures post-mortem, because they stunk like death as well. Once over the initial shock, I thought it only appropriate to notify staff that the live baits were being improperly stored. As we were checking out, I said something like, Oh, by the way, the nightcrawlers are in the freezer, when they should be in the live bait refrigerator, and was immediately dismissed with, "NOPE, THAT'S HOW WE SELL THEM, isn't that right?" (to the gentleman behind her). "Yup, we don't sell them live," he chimed in, tag-team style, and our merchandise was thrust toward us and it was clear our transaction had completed. We left, wide-eyed, shocked to silence, at the ignorance, dismissiveness, and plain meanness of Diana (the cashier), and her sales associate. Again, I have come to expect a certain level of apathy and disregard from Dick's employees, but this was next level, and was not only poor customer service, but destruction of inventory and an unwillingness to address it. Afterward, I was able to share my experience, with one of the manager's, a Wanda, who was appropriately sympathetic and said she'd look into it, but my disappointment with Dick's has now risen to actual shock. read more

He was friendly and attentive, directing us to the specific men's walking shoes and checking in on us while Hubby tried on shoes and walked around. Hubby does not like shopping, but Jeffrey made the whole process easy with his warm and professional manner. Jeffrey should be a team lead or train new employees. These days everyone wants things to be the way they used to. With good reason. Yet, here is an element which in a way it is if you think about it. Much like reading an actual book, flipping the pages physically instead of an e-reader, this remains one of the last visages of an experience we used to take for granted. To my knowledge this is only one of two sporting goods stores that remain to shop in. The other one has a number in it's name and we all know it's of a vastly lesser quality. Ahh, to be able to go into a store and touch, feel and yes, try something on to see if it actually fits! I'm all for online shopping with it's ease and convenience but c'mon...you know you miss it. This store is huge and has pretty much anything you'd want. Great selection as well as friendly and knowledgeable staff make it a pleasant experience. Masks or not. They also, like most, offer curbside pickup which I've used several times and the process is very efficient. They also have a pretty decent rewards program if you plan on being a repeat offender. Enjoy being old school. I think you'll like it. read more

Came here looking for Yeti Hopper 12 in Charcoal... checked online first and it said there was 2 in stock. Was unable to find it once I got here, I asked for help and some young kid came and checked his handheld which confirmed they should be in stock. Said will check in the back, then came back and said he didn't see any back there and to go ahead and order it online... specifically came here bc it said it was in stock. So I called the store and the associate said they don't open that door until later and I would have to go out and all the way to the outside entrance a walk away. They have tons of sports equipment, shoes, clothing, and other apparel. Huge variety. Associates seem pretty friendly. It's inside the mall/galleria so there is plenty of nearby food, drinks, and shopping. Parking is free. It can be sorta difficult to find things in the store. It's very big. There were items I saw online that said they were in stock at this Dick's but I couldn't find them. Also, an item I bought had a flaw in it (which I didn't notice until I had drove home). Poo! Overall, it's a cool store if you're looking for athletic gear and have time to browse. read more

So I was shhh and talked down by an employee when I wasn't even talking to her just waiting for another cashier to check on the price because when my sister, who got a head band, got to the her she was told that they were not 7.99 but 27.00. It's not the consumer's fault that all the merchandise was put under the wrong pricing. It's the employee responsibility to apologize for the mistake not be rude and ignore the customer like it's their fault. Im amazed by the way the lady talked to us. I had a bad, although slightly exciting experience coming into this location to pick up my Swimming cap online order before an amazing Hotel day pass fr hair protection. Proceeded to the cashier pickup desk... the man who it was later revealed to be a manager-- was very Rude and hasty with me barking at me to give me my last name twice- when I showed the screen shot with order number.. and didnot quickly know for sure If it was linked to my last name/just the email. This guy was Very rude , seemed super intimidated... and worst of all walked away from the cashier to get my order in such a huff/puff that he Knocked over a large empty box behind the register.. making the younger kid at other cashier turn around and notice how he had such a bad complex at that moment.
