I had a bad, although slightly exciting experience coming into this location to pick up my Swimming cap online order before an amazing Hotel day pass fr hair protection. Proceeded to the cashier pickup desk... the man who it was later revealed to be a manager-- was very Rude and hasty with me barking at me to give me my last name twice- when I showed the screen shot with order number.. and didnot quickly know for sure If it was linked to my last name/just the email. This guy was Very rude , seemed super intimidated... and worst of all walked away from the cashier to get my order in such a huff/puff that he Knocked over a large empty box behind the register.. making the younger kid at other cashier turn around and notice how he had such a bad complex at that moment. This review is a shame to write because this store has some very positive features. But I write it honestly hoping that management is paying attention and can make necessary adjustments! HUGE store and HUGE inventory. Virtually every sport is represented with wide ranging gear of all kinds. I can't imagine not being able to find most of what you want or need for most sports here. Very clean, neat and spacious as well. That being said, the one thing we were looking for - an elbow shock-absorbing band for golf, we couldn't find. We asked for help early on and were taken to a general section of bands/supports. Then we were referred to the golf section, where we were referred back to the general section. After almost giving up, we looked a little harder on our own and there they were. They had several choices after we were told by 2 different sales people that they must not carry them. So, clearly the staff in this case do not know their products or inventory. It wasn't even clear if they knew what we were asking for. Disappointing because we wasted time and almost walked out without purchasing the product that was very clearly there. This huge store was virtually empty while we were there, during the crowded holiday shopping season. There is a major disconnect which is very unfortunate. Hopefully someone who CARES will be paying attention. Otherwise I don't think this store will be around long. read more

I've been here dozens of times over the years, and it's fine. It's where I enter the mall when I need to go there (usually for something specific). However, for the past 5+ years, I've noticed an extremely high-pitched and unpleasant noise in the shoe department. A sports mom dream store ! I Can get all I need for my kids softball , volleyball, soccer , baseball playing needs in one stop ! They have great customer service ! I ordered recently online and both the wrong sizes and they exchanged it no problem . Also had to return some softball pants that damaged on the first wear and they exchanged them without a problem . I went the other day and the cashier was so friendly even though they had a line . She didn't rush me or anything . I gave 4 stars because every time I go to get shoes it takes a while to get help . The lighting in the fitting rooms is disgusting. Ceiling light is not enough, and the light from the mirror just blinds you when you try to look in the mirror. As a result, it is difficult to make a choice of a thing when you do not see it on yourself. After the priming, pain in the eyes is felt. I recommend that management visit several fitting rooms in decent stores and take an example from them. read more

Really great location! This place is fully stocked on all gear from Nike, Patagonia, RVCA, etc. I've been buying all my workout clothes and gear from here lately. The staff is very friendly as well. Highly recommend shopping at this location! Poorly managed store. All teenage employees standing around and can't answer questions about merchandise. I asked a young man where the men's sandals were and he pointed me to the flip flops section. I asked him if he knew the difference and he replied "no". I purchased two pairs of Patagonia casual swim shorts that were on (M) labeled hangers, later to get home and find they were (XXL) size. At checkout, a lady ahead of me was trying to purchase a Nike Fanny Pack with no price tag. The only cashier, a teenage female at the register couldn't figure out how to charge the item allowing the checkout line to grow long. I noticed there were six other unattended register's. At the same time, two of the male teenage employees walked out the front door saying they were leaving on break time. When another teenage female employee walking by was flagged down to assist how to ring up the item, it never dawned on the first girl to minimize the line of customers and check anyone out until I said something about it. I asked the second girl who showed up if there were any other employees to help man the registers, she replied rudely, "we're short staffed." After this bad experience, I don't care for returning there to exchange the items, they'll wind up in the trash and I'll go to BIG5 for all my sports gear from now on. read more

I realised that I didn't receive the survey email from Dick's sporting Goods and I wasn't sure how to find that email or which email address they have sent to so I've decided to come here to write it. The store itself is ok. They don't always have everything but the location is good and it's ok. That's why I gave 3 stars for the store. Ruben who helped me at the cashier was so kind and thoughtful. Oh Dicks. You let me down severely today. Literally broke my heart. So I've shopped at this location before; never had a problem. I bought some punching gloves, kick pads, knee braces & elbow pads that I got here sometime ago. Definitely happy with that purchase. Even had one a Rep go out of their way to help & provide me with some excellent customer service. It was a good experience that I never got the chance to write a good review on. And yes, I've shopped at other Dick's nationwide to buy different items from there. Everything from shorts to workout gear, to air soft equipment. But today, I needed change for the bus. Easy right? I mean I thought they'd make an exception with IDK the pouring rain outside? Idk...or perhaps if the LADY behind the register noticed my thumb wrapped in a medical bandage from an injury? I asked one of the workers there for change, and he said the cashier could help me with that. Now if he told me they couldn't do it, I probably wouldn't be making this post. No! Today. You failed at providing somebody with a simple request for help. It's not like I was asking you to break $100.00 bill. I was asking you to break $1.00! $1.00! For the bus so I can get home! Needless to say, you're lack of compassion will not go unnoticed & you have earned yourselves the lowest possible score. On top of that, you've lost a customer! Sports Chalet spoiled us thru the years with great service and selection of sporting goods. Dick's has a decent selection of items, however, the customer service here is non-existent. Been here on numerous occasions. Employees look like high school or just out of high school. All not trained to understand customer service. Been here many times where there's a greeter at the entry but fails to acknowledge, looks the other way to avoid. Even in the different areas including the shoe department, there's employees just standing, talking to each other, and mentioning they just want to leave work. Not one offered help and as you walk toward and try to ask, they walk the other direction on numerous occasions. I'll stop coming here. I worry about the future of America. Also, I went in on a Monday morning, it was completely empty and there were more employees than customers. Not once was I approached by a sales rep to see if I needed help. I went to this Glendale Galleria location yesterday for women's golf shoes and a visor. Went downstairs to the women's golf section and it's literally just 1 wall of clothes none of them where my size (xs) also the 2 women's golf shoes offered weren't on display and the guy working there said I have to look at all the boxes in the men's section myself and see which one says women's shoe . No help whatsoever! I found a pair half size larger and was willing to buy them but they were clearly worn and when I went to checkout I pointed out that they are worn and the cashier told me oh yeah it appears to be someone else's return and if you buy them you can't return them. Found the Babolat tennis racquet I was looking for quickly and easily, at a great price. Also, they allow dogs in the store on leashes and were so nice to our pups! I took my nephew to DICK's in Pasadena on Saturday looking for chalk and a specific pair of track shoes. I asked an employee in the shoe department where to find the shoes, he didn't say anything, walked over to the shoe section we might need and just pointed at 3 pairs and didn't say one word, it was so bizarre! We didn't buy shoes because we had more questions and didn't think he was up to the challenge since words might be needed. Then we asked another employee where the chalk was she said it should be over against that wall. There were two huge walls far from us so we tried to look on our own but were unsuccessful. I purchased something else altogether. At the register, they don't greet you but ask you four different questions about signing up for a credit card, two different options for discounts, and finally, do I want to round up for something? After the 4th question, I said I really just want to pay for my items. I rarely come here especially since they are sooooooo expensive and always rude. We went to Big 5 instead and they were so helpful and nice and spent time with us so we could ask questions. read more

This is a huge Dick's Sporting Goods. It is two stories with a bunch of inventory. However when you walk in you are hardly ever greeted. I went in looking for a Hydro Flask. I saw that there were some at the register however I needed a different size. I didn't want to be rude and cut in front of customers to ask a simple question and I definitely didn't want to wait in line to ask since the line was a bit long. So I set off to try to find an employee. That took longer than just waiting in line. I had to go to another floor to finally find an employee only to find out that the Hydro Flasks were only found at the register so no bigger sizes/different colors were in stock. Overall this store is huge with a bunch of items but finding someone to help you will take forever. read more

I was excited to see their new store. It was beautiful and immaculate! But NO employees! I was leaving out of the country and needed a $100 tennis racquet. No one was in or near the department. I found a cashier that sent over a nice young girl with no knowledge of tennis. She called her manager who told her to tell me to read the labels on the racquets. THANKS A LOT!!! Dick's is one of the few remaining all-encompassing sporting goods stores in this area, and as such, it is the place I go to when I need, say, an inexpensive sleeping bag, a bicycle pump, a fold-up chair to watch my kids' sports, and some golf balls. Their prices are competitive, and the convenience of getting it all in one place makes up for the few instances when their prices are higher than others'. The drawback is that like ALL national chain stores, they are ridiculously understaffed, and not all their sales staff knows about all of their carried sports gear (see: Best Buy or Macy's for the worst in these categories). But knowing that before I go, and figuring out what I want to buy in advance saves the headaches and heartaches of what general retail shopping has become. Add to that their withdrawal from the gun sales marketplace, and they become a retailer whom I will gladly patronize. read more

Every time I go here I have a hard time finding an employee who really has knowledge of whichever piece of sporting equipment I'm inquiring about. I'm usually met with a blank stare. As well, when I bring my kids here to find specific apparel or sports equipment, no one has any enthusiasm or even basic knowledge of what might be best for my kids. It's usually a pointing to an area of the store accompanied by a "all our kids stuff is over there." No "here let's show you what we have and find the best option for your little athlete." As well, the selection of anything for kids sporting equipment is pretty lack luster. Especially in the tennis dept. All in all I see Dick's Sporting Goods as that oversized superstore filled with a ton of stuff that none of the college students working a job they can't wait to get out of have little idea about. read more

Just went into get some cleats for my sons the worker acted like he was not happy with his job being rude brought me the wrong shoes telling me I was wrong making me have to show the shoes I wanted again just for him to leave me standing there waiting for an answer.
