When I got to the counter and was making my purchase a manger (or maybe an owner?) said one of the things was too much and cut the price dramatically. I can't remember the last time that has happened to me, and I'm as old as dirt. :-) If you are a maker, tinkerer or just a fan of cool old stuff you owe yourself a visit to Apex. For me, it was at the end of a 400 mile drive, I was tired and had other places to go, but every minute there was a pleasure.

Not sure if he's always like that, but I didn't really take it as rudeness. To me it sounded like the guy has been there for 20 years of experience and knows what you're looking for and goes straight to the point; no time wasted. If you're someone who wants to be spoken to like a child, go somewhere else crybaby. Secondly, they had exactly what I was looking for. A holster and gun belt for my 4.5 Echelon with a TLR-1 HL-X light attachment. The holster fits pretty good for the price. I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect, but that's because the Echelon is just now getting popular, so manufacturers will eventually make more things for the Echelon later down the road. Not a fault of the store; they had exactly what I needed. Thirdly, I wasn't going to write a review, but the young gentleman that helped me out, (handsome Persian guy), with my shopping. When I paid for everything and left the shop, he ran down the block and caught me before I drove away and handed me the tools for my new gun belt I purchased. They could have just allowed me to move on with my day; I didn't even know the tools came with it, but that made me want to write something for this business. The owner of the place has had it for 23 or so years. I like his straightforward approach. No singing or dancing around the topic. Like I said, if you want to be treated like a princess, go to a restaurant and bother a waitress. Come here for real business. Thank you 3 gentlemen that helped me. The Sebenza purchase is actually a very funny and memorable story for me. One day, I was out for a drive with my three-year-old daughter, who always falls asleep better when I play music in the car. After she dozes off, I usually take her home and put her to bed. That day, while driving past the knife shop's new location, I noticed a celebrity walking into the store. I won't say who he was, but he's been around for a long time, and I'm a huge fan. Of course, I pulled into the parking lot and went inside right away. Besides the employees, it was just me and him in the store. I walked over to a display featuring some knives I had been considering for a while--kind of a grail knife for me. Clearly, I was just stalling, and everyone knew it, but they were kind and polite. Meanwhile, my three-year-old daughter ran all over the store, touching the glass display cases and leaving smudges everywhere. One of the employees casually followed behind her, quietly cleaning the glass but never saying anything rude to me or my daughter. After standing around for what felt like an uncomfortably long time, I decided to bite the bullet and make a purchase. I still have that knife and use it regularly, just like any other pocket knife. But every once in a while, I look at it, smile, and think about that day--the day I stood awkwardly close to one of my childhood idols, unable to say anything intelligible, while my daughter ran around making noise and leaving fingerprints on everything. Wanting to show my grandchildren how to go out and hike safely and carry what one needs to be safe or call for help, every other item has met our needs. Ask to open packages and see the product, they may have a display piece, don't get the blanket canteen thinking you can wear it across your body, it is a shoulder carry at best. At approximately $200 spent I am woefully disappointed BUT another lesson I was able to teach my grandchildren about policy signage, asking to touch and see merchandise ensuring items meets your needs prior to purchasing.
